Our mattress was in bad shape, but I let them know at checkout.

I really enjoyed drinks and lite bites in the lounge, with very comfortable seating and attentive service. A very romantic spot if that's important. Right on the beach and kid-friendly as well. A must if you are in the area. My room was spacious and had a balcony, which made it roomy. They have a house car to take you around town to the mall or restaurants, a very nice feature. Definitely a value for what you get.

Recommend the hotel package w/breakfast. I like the option of breakfast at the hotel or at their sister hotel, Shutters on the Beach. Beautiful large lobby. Music in the evening. Complimentary water and coffee in the morning. There is a fridge in the room- but it's stocked with hotel wine, soda, etc. So there is no space for your snacks or drinks. - EGI94040 (10/5): Beautiful hotel - Great hotel with beautiful views and excellent service. We stayed in a 1 bedroom suite that was clean and comfortable with great views of the beach. I was worried it would be too noisy but it was very quiet the entire time we were there. The service was consistently great from the valets to the wait staff at the restaurant to housekeeping. This feels like an oasis in the heart of LA. Highly recommend.

I knew this hotel was beautiful, as I stayed here way back when I turned 30 years old, so it's special to me. That said, Hansel, who was at the front desk upon my arrival made this stay even more special to me - I'll forever be loyal to this hotel! Located right on the beach, and walking distance to everything you'll want to visit - ie Santa Monica wharf and promenade, as well as Venice Beach - the location can't be beat. The experience is luxury, valet is quick and easy, the team welcoming you so kind and on top of things. Then, you get a room that is clean, spacious, airy and light, with sweet details like a rubber duck at the bathtub. The gym has everything you'll need and there is even a spa. The restaurant is delicious with live music and a view of the beach. I loved the ahi appetizer. For my unique experience, after just one conversation and learning about my birthday Hansel surprised me with chocolate covered strawberries and sparkling water in my room, after I got back from a day of meetings. It means so much to me that he thought to do something kind for me, and I'm a nutrition coach so the treat couldn't have been more perfect, ha! At arrival he was welcoming, warm, interested in getting to know his guests, and on top of it all, elevated my experience with a thoughtful surprise. Love this place, and a special thanks for this trip's surprises.

Abbiamo chiesto un cambio camera perché la prima era imbarazzante: in un mezzanino, piccola e senza luce e la camera dataci dopo era davvero grande, luminosa e con una vista stupenda. Rooms and all the areas were very clean. Brian was very welcoming and attentive. The room feel upscale and comfortable. It's pricy but ideal for a special, scenic gateway right on the sand.

The ladies for spa and massage are exceptional. The food is amazing and my cappuccino every day of my stay was perfecto. I travel a lot and I can definetely say this is the best hotel in Los Angeles area.

Special shout out to Christopher Bermudez and Brian Garay. They both went out of their way to make sure we had a wonderful time. Our room was fantastic! Thoughtful details everywhere and so clean. Housekeeping team were wonderful. Highly recommend the Golden Hour in the lobby. Beautiful space and great cocktails and bites. Restaurant and pool were also fabulous! They set up chairs and umbrellas on the sand and have complimentary bikes for the promenade along the water. Hated to leave and can't wait to come back!

The location was wonderful - right on the beach/boardwalk. The food and drinks (coffee to wine) were top-notch. The menu in the restaurant and apps in the bar area were perfect & very good. The rooms were beautiful and so well decorated - we had a room that wasn't ocean facing, and it had lots of light and a great experience. The front desk staff was lovely, accommodating a few asks that I had - including receiving a package I had shipped. Thank you to the entire staff. We had a great time!

It wasn't even listed on the bill when I checked out, so I asked them to check it by email , but they never replied. I was so disappointed, as the service during my stay was excellent.

Rooms are spacious and comfortable, well equipped with everything you need for a pleasant stay. Bed and pillows are extremely comfortable. Staff is great, always ready to help, impecable service. Felt at home. We will diffinitely come back. The pool. It is really small, more like a plunge pool. Don't expect any swimming there.

- scottn744 (10/5): The best place to stay in Santa Monica - My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights and were blown away by how nice it was. The location is the best so close to the Santa Monica pier. But you may end up not even leaving the hotel it’s that nice. The property is extremely well kept and the staff are all on point. You know a place is nice when the only negative people can find is the price. For me it was worth every $.

- LiALiliG (10/5): Beach, surfers, palms and the most beautiful room with a view - plus excellent service - I haven't been to LA in a while, and now I had to work in Beverly Hills, but I wanted the ocean, so I stayed at the Casa del Mar in Santa Monica, and I loved every minute I spent there, and every detail: The lush design, the lovely room (very quiet suite on the 7th floor; thanks for the sweet upgrade!), the gorgeous beach (endless!), the awesome view (to the beach, the palm trees, the pier, the Pacific...), the sunshine (yeah, well, that's Southern California for you, I know), the friendly, efficient and super-helpful staff, the extras (the house car from 4 to 11 p.m.), the delicious breakfast (which I had in my room every day of the 5 days I stayed, because I did not want to miss the view), the fact that guests of the Casa can also lunch and dine at the Shutters on the Beach next door. I loved the Nespresso coffee maker and the generous supply of bottled water without any extra charge in my room. I loved the huge bathroom and the cleanliness. I also loved the location: downtown Santa Monica and Pier are walkable, Venice Beach is within reach of the house car, and for every distance you might want to uber to, there are ubers available (I never waited more than 1 minute). Drive over from and back to LAX airport was about 30 minutes. From the very first moment on I felt at home, and I enjoyed every moment I stayed at Casa del Mar. I will definitely be back!

The staff was so amazing and welcoming the whole trip, it was my best friends birthday and they treated us so well with birthday treats!! The restaurant was great too, we ate there for lunch and dinner! 10 out of 10 would definitely recommend!! The price was high for me and my salary haha but I don't regret it at all, the experience was worth it!!
