- Martin (10/5): - A warm (v early morning) welcome at check-in. Great staff all round. Comfortable clean room and a comfortable bed and an excellent shower with Molton Brown soaps/gels. Fluffy towels too. Good varied breakfast. Roof terrance where you can take your own drinks/snax etc. 5min walk to the Metro and 10min to Gare Est. Plenty of places to eat/drink close by. We’d stay there again!

Boulangerie and bistros 1/2 a block away. Our room was a good size. The bathroom was small but had a great shower. The staff were so friendly, spoke English well, and were so helpful.
- Constantinos (8/5): - Quirky hotel in the 10th arrondisement. If you are thinking to walk from Gare du Nord - its not far but the route goes through a dodgy area which may be okay daytime. The hotel itself is quiet and the rooms have been recently fitted out. The staff are all super smiley and friendly. If you can take care of yourself do stay here. If you are older or peace loving, I would suggest staying in a different area
- Charlotte (10/5): Girls trip - We had a brilliant stay, the rooms were clean and well presented. The beds and pillows were SO comfortable. Friendly staff and the breakfast had lots of options and great value for money we felt. Location was great too, easy to get around, we walked most places but lots of restaurants around Holly Belly was just around the corner for a great brunch!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Perfectly located hotel with wonderful staff - Our stay at Le Grand Quartier was nothing short of magnificent! The staff were incredibly warm and friendly, especially in giving us a room upgrade when we arrived. This was particularly great for us since we just got in on the red eye from NYC and I had to work the next day, so the suite they gave us with a couch and plenty of space was exactly what we needed. Everything we asked for was catered to, extra towels, late checkout and our dog was welcomed too! The Molton Brown toiletries in the room are also a great touch, especially as I forgot my shaving cream! Thank you so much for having us!

- jungbin (10/5): - This was my second time visiting Paris with ny hubby, and most of hotel rooms in Paris are very small. However, Le Grand room was very spacious, we brought 3 luggages and the space was sufficient for us to have them all opened. Also, shower room was very spacious too, I call it shower room because for some reason, toilet was in a separate room from the shower—which we got used to it right away. Bathroom definitely had some odor, but that’s probably because plumbing in Paris is old so I wouldn’t blame the hotel. Also, the neighborhood was pretty convenient from Metro and had lots of local restaurants as well as supermarkets. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel. Oh also, the hotel had umbrellas available by entrance door for everyone who stays at the hotel. Overall, I highly recommend here!

Easy access and close proximity to both train stations. Only cons were the cigarette smoke coming in the window from the centre courtyard and the hotel restaurant being closed 2 days a week. Plenty of cafes, bakeries, pharmacies and popular restaurants nearby. Room is always immaculately clean and well-maintained. Staff is super friendly, welcoming and helpful too.

The interior dining courtyard is very attractive and has many large plants which are well maintained, Our only complaint was that the neighborhood is not the best but this is no fault of the hotel. - marie antoinette (10/5): Great hotel but needs staff improvement - The good - - convenient location from Gare de l'est, about an 8 minute walk - very near cafes, shops, boulangerie, supermarket at a relatively quiet street - we had a comfortable stay in our King room (sheets and towels were clean and fresh; space was more than enough for the 2 of us) - beautiful modern hotel; looked exactly how it did the last time we were there 2 years ago The bad - - check in was not smooth as first i was told that my booking had been canceled, then when the staff eventually found it, I was told to pay because booking had not been paid. After showing her my receipt she apologized half-heartedly and didn't even bother looking at me - housekeeping staff not the friendliest

I wasn’t expecting the rooms to be this modern or the hotel to be this cool but I was very pleased to stay here. The bed and pillows were particularly comfortable. The staff was pleasant. I wish I stayed longer!

- Vivian (8/5): - Staff are super friendly, location is great. Very walkable to metro, bakery and restaurants. We had the Terrace suite and it is very spacious with a good size outdoor terrace. The hotel has good on site amenities with a restaurant, work space and a small fitness area. A few notes: The hotel room runs on the warm side, we were told that they typically set their thermostat at 24c during summer season and 27c during winter. There might be some communication error on this. The sofa bed was not a queen size as advertised. It was a double. Also, there is no hot water the morning we have to depart. Considered everything, I will still go back to this hotel and the general experience was great!

- Tuyet (8/5): - Nice, big and clean room! Very comfortable bed, nice outdoor spaces in the courtyard and 4th floor to relax in. The fitness center has a couple of treadmills, bike and elliptical. Wish it had wifi and a section for floor exercises though! Overall would stay here again.
- Harlan (10/5): - The first thing you need to know about the hotel is it is located directly across from a police station. That is not the hotel or the police department's fault. My review does not "ding" the hotel for this. I recommend folks use a white noise machine and/or earplugs to sleep if you happen to face the street (Rue de Nancy). We slept with our windows opened and used a white noise machine and earplugs. For us, it worked perfectly. We booked a queen-sized bed; the room was very spacious, and plugs on both sides of the bed accommodate your electronics. There is an in-room safe and a small refrigerator to use, along with all the other amenities (hair dryer). The bathroom was more extensive than expected for a hotel in Paris, with the shower having ample room. The water pressure was excellent, and we had a rain showerhead and a handheld unit. One note: when you are done using the shower, put the stopper (plug) back into the drain. If not, you may have a bit of a funky odor. We learned this on day two when we thought it was the toilet or garbage outside (wrong on both accounts). The staff at the hotel was excellent, speaking English very well. I appreciated they let me speak in French as much as possible, even if it wasn't the best. Regarding the area around the property, you can walk 4 min to Chateau d'eau metro station (Metro 4 from Gare du Nord or Chatelet), and you can stop into many eateries along the way. We loved our stay immensely.

- Amine (8/5): - This is an up and coming property in a gentrifying area of Paris where many social classes mix. It’s not the stuck up posh and uptight neighborhoods. The property itself is new and/or renovated, the rooms are well designed and the bathroom is convenient. I found it disappointing that the restaurant and cafe were not welcoming at all. Breakfast is super well managed and food is tasty there, but dinner is nonexistent and there doesn’t even seem to be a willingness to serve. My budget is more or less unlimited so I would have enjoyed dining. I could see many guests checking it out and deciding to eat outside. Really a pity. I am also not sure why housekeeping didn’t clean my room in 4 days.

- syed (8/5): - We were upgraded to a suite since they were out of the kings. Very nice and clean. Spacious also. They also kept our luggage when we traveled and came back to re check in. The next two night the air conditioning was not working and the rooms were hot. The thermostat is locked. Other than that, clean hotel. Walkable area and convenient location. Would stay there again.

- Raymond (8/5): - Convenient for access to Gar de Est and Gar de Nord train stations. However the areas surrounding the hotel and near the train stations were dirty. After dark these areas felt unsafe, but we had no encounters, just ab uneasy feeling walking through then. We liked the eco-friendliness but the dark hallways may be a little too far. The light timers don’t give enough time to get into room before they turn off, leaving you in the dark.
- Mai (8/5): - The property is in good condition. The room we had was spacious and clean. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Hallway can definitely use more light. The surrounding has lots of eating places and we are questioning the safety but it seemed fine .

Unfortunately, the staff we dealt with was not very welcoming or pleasant and the neighbourhood is not attractive or well located for tourists. Too bad, because we really liked the hotel itself. The human touch was totally absent.

When we arrived at the dining room, shortly before the posted breakfast hour we were turned away by the male attendant even though the croissants we wanted were laid out & ready. The front desk manger intervened & we got some food before we left but the irritation was entirely unnecessary! Rough neighborhood but the police station across the street was reassuring. Good value for the money.

Fairly easy to navigate and quit a few food options. Staff was friendly and quick to get us settled in. All-in-all, not a bad spot to rest your head at night. The breakfast options were great for breakfast with a location. Enjoys the peace and quiet in the morning while eating my breakfast. Enjoyed the stay. Thank you!
- Jane (8/5): - The location to Gare de l'Est was ideal. The location to the sights of Paris not as convenient but we knew that ahead of time. I loved the diversity of the surrounding neighborhood. The hotel felt safe and was very clean and comfortable. The staff went out of their way to be helpful. We would definitely stay here again if we wanted to be close to the train station.

Specifically, I was not trilled about area around the metro at the night. I had to go back to hotel early before sunset because I didn’t feel safe at night.

- Linda (10/5): - Best features are the quiet, clean rooms, beautiful courtyard, and espresso machines in the rooms. The common areas have a relaxed vibe but are modern and well maintained. Location is further away from the city center, affording opportunities to explore other parts of Paris. I'd return.
- andreas (10/5): - Booked and changed to this hotel last minute because it had AC and Paris was hot 32C which, If you know the city, is unbearable. The hotel itself was great. Had a “family room” with my two kids - 9&12. It was basically a private suite of two opposing rooms on the top floor with private entrance. It was quiet, clean, modern and spacious The hotel wasn’t really located anywhere - ie not t in any part of town you may want to visit - Marais, Latin Quarter,St. Germain - and there really wasn’t anything nearby, but it was well connected with the metro to get everywhere. With my two kids it was the perfect place to retreat back to after long days of walking in Paris. But if I had been without them / with my wife I would have preferred to stay in one of the above mentioned neighborhoods.
