• Melania-Simona (3/5): Kalte Souterrain-Wohnung mit nur ein Schlafzimmer. - Die Beschreibung und Bilder der Unterkunft sind irreführend. Es gibt kein zweites Schlafzimmer, sondern nur ein Schlafzimmer sowie ein Wohnzimmer mit Klappbett, Sofa und Küchenzeile. Zudem muss man durch das Wohnzimmer gehen, um das Badezimmer zu erreichen. Das ist sehr schlecht, wenn man mit Freunde reist und man wie angegeben zwei separate Schlafzimmer erwartet. Außerdem war es in der Wohnung teilweise sehr kalt. Das Heizthermostat ist gesperrt und wird vom Besitzer ferngesteuert. Ab etwa 22 Uhr bis morgens wurde die Soll-Temperatur auf 17 °C reduziert. In Kombination mit der Souterrainlage, einfachverglasten Fenstern und kalten Außentemperaturen Ende April (Tiefsttemperatur 3°!) wurde es nachts sehr unangenehm. Die vorhandenen Decken sind klein und dünn, wodurch wir beide schlecht schlafen konnten. Nach mein empfinden waren es keine 18° und mein Mitreisender empfand es um die 15° in der Nacht. Als ich den Besitzer nachts um 4:30 Uhr wegen der Kälte kontaktiert habe und um eine 2° Temperaturerhöhung gebeten habe, wurde dies am nächsten Tag ignoriert. Stattdessen erhielt ich am Tag darauf ein Foto von sein Heizsystem mit angeblich 22,5 °C Raumtemperatur um 4 Uhr nachts. Das hat überhaupt nicht zu unserem Empfinden gepasst und hat wenig glaubwürdig gewirkt, da es angeblich auch die Höchsttemperatur an dem Tag war.

• Angela (9/5): Brilliant stay Berlin amazing so much to do.. will definitely be back - The apartment was easy to find, easy access via a door code, host had very good communication, we found location was great, 20 min walk to tv tower, shop around the corner for coffee & food etc.. very clean, would recommend Not much except for the auto lock on from door went off in the middle of the night and gave us a fright., make sure to lock door from inside

The staff went above and beyond—after I accidentally left one of my presentation bags behind, the admin team kindly arranged to send it to my brother’s house. Their honesty and helpfulness truly impressed me, and I’m very grateful for their support. The location of the hotel is another big advantage. It’s close to many major tourist attractions, which saved us both time and transportation costs during our trip. Being able to walk to so many places made our stay even more enjoyable. Overall, I’m extremely satisfied with their service and hospitality. I highly recommend Appt Berlin to anyone visiting the city. Thank you once again for making my stay so pleasant.

Wasser fliesst nicht gut ab. Toilette stinkt ebenfalls. Heizung ließ sich nicht ein oder ausstellen. Kühlschrank sehr klein..

• Akash (4/5): - initially the door code was not enabled by the host, after a phone call it was done immediately. check in was overall smooth and nice. location is also good with 7 minute walk from the nearest tram station. apartment has basic furnishing which is good enough for a short stay with family. it is a basement apartment, we could hear the footsteps of the people walking through streets until very late night. some of the plates were dirty (used with butter on them) and were kept in the shelf- I would not blame host for this as it might be possible that previous guests were not that kind to keep them clean. bathroom has visible mould all over the tiles, the other facility (shampoo, toothpaste ..etc) were good.

• Elaine (7/5): Comfortable enough and good value for money - It was well equipped and spotlessly clean. The location was only 10 minutes walk from the Hop-on Hop-off bus stop and within walking distance of the city centre It was advertised as a 2 bedroom property when in actual fact there is one bedroom and a sitting room/kitchen/dining room / bedroom combined. The entry is a big hazardous as when you open the door there are 4 steep steps to get in. There is a battery operated light switch that didn’t work and as it was dark it was quite dangerous. Luckily we always carry a little torch which helped me find the light switch at the other end of the room. It transpired that there was a switch at the door but the coat stand had been put in front of it

• Valentina (3/5): - L'unica nota positiva è che si trova in un bel quartiere di Berlino, abbastanza centrale L'alloggio è sostanzialmente un seminterrato con una camera da letto (anziché 2 come indicato) lenzuola, asciugamani e ambiente con una fortissima umidità, sporco ovunque compreso le 2 stoviglie con le quali è impossibile pensare di cucinare o solo scaldare qualcosa, bagno piccolo pieno zeppo di moscerini e sporco, assolutamente non adeguato per più di 2 persone e per più notti ( una basta e avanza, e solo in caso di emergenza) Tavolo talmente piccolo da essere inutilizzabile, bagno cieco senza ventola. Noi viaggiavamo con bambini e siamo stati obbligati a passare meno tempo possibile all'interno perché non si riusciva a respirare ( nonostante 2 aggeggi che penso siano purificatori d'aria). Prima volta che in tanti anni ho avuto un problema di un appartamento prenotato con booking, spero sia anche l'ultima. Una città favolosa che, se dovessi avere il piacere di visitare per una seconda volta, sicuramente metterò più attenzione nel cercare un alloggio leggendo meglio le recensioni. Sconsigliatissimo.

• Angela (1/5): Impossible to stay in a property that smells entirely of smoke with no access to any fresh air . Did not stay. - On arrival the property was not ready and it smelled of cigarette smoke it is meant to be No smoking, after cleaning still smelled badly of smoke including furniture & linen no ventilation unless door to street was left wide open, owner denied smoke smell, but a passer by confirmed smoke smell. Owner refused to refund our money it was impossible to stay there, after several phone calls to booking.com they said up to owner to refund, we had no rights!! Eventually he said he would treat it as a cancellation and we would receive 50% . Through no fault of our own we were the losers. We paid him £609 for 4 days stay, in a place that was falsely advertised as no smoking,and we had to book into an hotel for a further cost of €1340. Do not stay in this place if you like breathing, his answer was that even though it is advertised as no smoking all Germans smoke and that’s that. The property is not even very central.
• Travel (8/5): Perfect for our Weekend City Break - Great location, lots around to do. Easy access to public transport. I initially found it a little tricky to work out how to switch on the heating and felt a bit cold, but that was entirely down to me rather than the accommodation or host, as there are clear instructions for everything in the apartment. I also wasn’t too keen on the single quilts, as they felt a bit small for me, but there is an extra quilt in the cupboard and plenty of additional pillows available if needed, which was a nice touch.
• Erik (4/5): Disapponting stay, because we were expecting much better accomodation based on the images and description. - Location and cleanliness. Images were deceptive. The flat is a sous-terrain property and the door is opening directly to the street. Insulation is non-existent. There were too manyi pieces of furniture, so wardrobes and commodes couldn’t be utilized fully. Bathroom is ridiculiously small, there is no shower plate so the water is flowing around the floor.

Beds are very comfortable, apartment is warm & plenty of hot water available. More an observation than a dislike but the apartment felt cluttered with furniture, there were only 2 of us staying so not a problem for us but might be for a bigger group. Bathroom is indeed small but it was very clean & well fitted out with a good shower - didn’t bother us.

• Walt (9/5): Given prices in Berlin, well worth the effort to find APPT and save a bundle! - APPT is located in an area that has lots of good eating, both breakfast and evening meals. I'm certain the near-by mid-day meal opportunities are also wondrful, but we never were at APPT during daylight hours! :) Transportation opportunities abounded, with APPT located near bus, tram and subway lines - and near a taxi stand if that is your transportation mode of choice

Very close to one of best dining and drinking areas in Berlin. Tea and coffee provided including coffee pod machine Major items Half basement flat with little natural light and some dampness especially in small 'wetroom shower' bathroom which seems to have a leak somewhere leaving the floor permanently wet. Second bed in small living area turned out to be a sofa. Was not made up as a bed. Linen eventually located after phonecall was not suitable. Main bed was reasonably comfortable but sofa bed was not. (There may have been a second wall bed in the kitchen area but this was not offered and was locked) Listed as having clothes washing facilities but no machine installed. Access not easy as instructions received did not give the door code and phonecalls were needed. Also door had no number on it. Other problems No oven or microwave for cooking No coffee/teapot or mugs supplied Bathroom sink plunger is stuck Directions from Main rail station need amending to exit M8 tram at Rosenthaler Platz, much closer to flat than earlier stop suggested.

• Steve (9/5): Excellent location and all 3 of us enjoyed our stay. - The apartment was in a great location, with clear instructions and communication from the host. The apartment was clean and the host was vey helpful and answered any questions when we phoned him. The information sheet for guests with apartment info, places to eat that were close to the apartment, as well as attractions, was a great touch. It’s in a quiet street with good places to eat and supermarkets nearby. There were 3 of us staying there, so 2 of us had double beds and my other friend had the sofa bed (double) which he said was comfortable. Really enjoyed our 4 days staying there, and had no issues at all. The shower wasn’t as bad as others have reviewed, but could be better. There were 3 of us staying there and as long as you kept the shower doors closed and used the squeegee mop as soon as you finished your shower, it was ok. Just took a few mins to clear the water after a shower.

A trendy, vibrant neighbourhood. We have provided feedback to host but for benefit of other travellers, I can confirm many of others complaints. The main issue was the bathroom-shower drains slowly and water thus pools around you. Two squeegees, one the size of a rake, let you know what you’re in for. There is definitely mould despite host advising it was black grout. We did not feel comfortable in the musty apartment, it did not feel clean and we would not recommend

• Jjmck (9/5): Superb - The apartment was very well set up and presented. It had all of the extras that make the stay just that extra bit special. It was easy to get to public transport and the local area had plenty of restaurants and shops, so very convenient. Toiletries, information sheets about the apartment and some good ideas for seeing Berlin's icons, local food eateries and a laundry. The only issue was that it is advertised as 2 bedroom. The second bed is a pull out from the frame type in the eating area But, it all worked extremely well for our group of 3.

• Dorian (7/5): Excellent location with a terrible bathroom. - Location was excellent with easy access to several restaurants, a nearby supermarket to get snacks, drinks, or food that you can cook at the kitchenette, and a separate room makes it comfortable for travelling in a large party with a couple. The shower was nightmarish, the floor was soaked and made walking into the bathroom without shoes on impossible. The water frequently got cold without warning before getting warm again.

• Meade (8/5): Very good - Location is great. We walked to Alexanderplatz, also Museum Island (30 minutes) when trams were backed up due to an accident. Lots of restaurants, grocery stores and bakeries nearby. Plenty of sleeping room for the 5 of us but bathroom was very small for this many people. Parking is on the street and we had to hunt for a spot. Used parking app to pay which was easy to setup.

• Dorothea (2/5): As we attended an international congress on Berlin we didn't spend much time in the flat. - The location was fine, good selection of restaurants and shops in the area, easy access to public transport. The beds are comfortable. The basement flat smelled moldy and was damp despite dehumidifiers and air purifiers, which had to run and be emptied all the time. There was not enough natural air circulation and it was not good for respiratory conditions. The lighting is not adequate for reading and the main good light has an inbuilt sensor system that switched off automatically all the time. Very irritating. The switch of the bedside lamp in the bedroom was broken and dangerous. There was no adequate daylight source. We didn't use the televisions.
• Elaine (8/5): Very good value in a handy quiet location. - Location was very good. Very quiet safe area. It had everything we needed for a short two night stay. Excellent value for money. Host was contactable straight away when we found it difficult to open the door. Space was a bit tight for five adults especially the kitchen area but the separate bedroom was spacious. It was difficult to sit down altogether at the same time to eat.
