Guest Reviews
- Won Jae (9/5): -
- Anya (10/5): Comfortable place, great host and location - This property is very close to the train station and also easy to walk to different parts of the city. The room was cute, comfortable, and we appreciated the small treats the host left us each morning. We had a wonderful time here! Since this property faces the street, be aware that loud noises outside can be heard. The windows were great at soundproofing against low and moderate volumes, but we were awoken at 4am but a very loud group of people celebrating in the street. If you are sensitive to sound, consider the location!
- Ngoan Vo (8/5): - Location. External Bathroom.
- Maria Liliana (10/5): -
- Zolbo (10/5): It was nice - “It was a very cozy and comfortable apartment. The hostess was very friendly and thoughtful. The location was also close to many things.” Nothing
- Tiago (10/5): - Anfitrião solicito. Apartamento limpo. Nada
- Saydie & Riley (10/5): - Owner of the property was amazing. And made every attempt possible to make our stay more comfortable
EVERYTHING is perfect. Host is very kind room condition is good not dirty. I recommend this hotel.
IF I travel to Florence again, I would gladly stay here again. Nothing
Nulla, andava tutto benissimo.
- Bartosz (9/5): Dobre miejsce na nocleg w centrum Florencji - Bardzo dobry kontakt z gospodarzem - przywitał nas osobiście i wszystko wyjaśnił. W mieszkaniu były dla nas przygotowane ciasteczka, bułki, jogurty, ekspres do kawy.
Lokalizacja bardzo dobra - blisko centrum i dworca kolejowego. Nie znalazłem żadnych rzeczy, które wymagałyby poprawy.

- Kazım Ulas (9/5): very very good - very clean, very good hospitality, perfect location for winter time it can be little cold

Host super gentile
- Zdeněk (10/5): -
- Cheuk Ting (10/5): - Great location, the room and bathroom were clean, and the host was very helpful and friendly, willing to make flexible arrangement.
- Chen (9/5): -
Nada
- Micah (8/5): Nice stay, good place to stay. would recommend to other travelers. - Nicely furnished room, good facilities, including for cooking, fine WC and shower. excellent location. All was fine
- Candace (10/5): Wonderful experience. - Great location, lovely host, had everything we needed. Nothing.
- Oda Erene (1/5): Not recommended! - Dirty, smells awful.
Close to airport but NOT an airport hotel. Stay out!
- Stacey (7/5): Great option for your Florence getaway - The location is the biggest draw card & Stefania was so kind & helpful Street noise on the weekend. Bring earplugs
- VagabondQueen (10/5): Perfect studio for a week-long stay - This cozy studio really has it all. Clean, bright, well-equipped, and excellent attention to my needs. Highly recommend! Nothing.
- Kathryn (6/5): Great location but that’s all you are paying for. - The location was excellent and the host was very friendly and helpful. It wasn’t anything like the photos. So felt very misleading. The description we booked under versus what we got when we arrived didn’t match at all.
For two people and luggage the room was small and pokey.
The room is right above the street and even with the windows closed we were woken by people either in the street or in the unit complex talking or fighting very loudly. Our first night there was the worst night sleep I had in a while.
The bathroom smelled of mould.
The shower was extremely tiny.
It was definitely not worth the money we paid - as they are charging similar to hotel rates but just doesn’t add up to this standard.
- Rahmat (9/5): Conveniently located - The location was truly excellent, a few minutes walk from the Firenze SMN train station, within walking distance to the main attractions, and of course the many trattorias around. Our stay at Lucretia House was fantastic. We chose the room with the private shower just across the hall, and we found it to be no inconvenience at all. All the positive comments we read about this homestay were true—the hosts were truly wonderful, and speak English well. They were always available to help and incredibly thoughtful, providing a great selection of breakfast items and snacks. We especially appreciated the small fridge in the room, which was perfect for storing a few essentials like milk and our favorite chocolate. It felt like a cozy, personal hotel, but with all the warmth and hospitality of a home. We found the room, mattress, and sheets to be perfectly clean and comfortable. For elderly guests, be careful of having to take the stairs to your room. The steps could be challenging. Also, as this is a homestay, please be considerate to inform the hosts of the time that you'd be checking-in and checking-out, as they do have to do their daily chores around town.
- Gonzalo (10/5): -
- Calvin (9/5): A fabulous place to stay in Florence! - Great neighbourhood with plenty of restaurants and things to do nearby; the host couple were very accommodating and friendly; very well appointed room which was spotlessly clean There is no lift at the property
- pascal van duijnhoven (9/5): - great location good communication
Rien
- Julian (10/5): -
- Alexandros (10/5): -
- Emily (10/5): Perfect central location, no frills but comfortable and a great value for the money. - Perfect spot for 3 women, better than the pictures. The room was more spacious than it looked online, with one double bed and one twin bed. Kitchen facilities were available in the room if needed (we didn't use them) and the bathroom was a good size to share. But the best part was really the hosts - very warm, welcoming, and flexible, they kept our bags after checkout and were very responsive via the Booking messenger for check-in. Location was super central and just a short walk to Santa Maria Novella.
- Ariston (10/5): Exceptional - Location is very convenient, about 10 minutes walk from the train station. Stefania the host is very friendly and kind, she accommodated our early check in and allowed us to leave the luggage after check out the next day. The room has complete amenities, there is a small stove with complete utensils, fridge and she also provided some small pastries for breakfast. Overall it was a very pleasant stay!
- Aquarina (10/5): Very Comfy and nice - Very Clean, good location and spacious for 3 persons , the owner Stefany is very friendly and helpful . We definitely will be back . Nothing
- Guy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joanne (8/5): Very nice and convenient for budget accomodation - Clean, convenient to the train and car hire and had what was needed. Also next to a laundromat.. Nothing really but if looking for something a kettle would have been great.
- Pamela (10/5): Perfect way to stay in Florence - This was the perfect way to experience Florence and really take in the culture. The room was adorable and Stephanie was an excellent hostess. She really thought of everything from cold bottles of water and small bites in the fridge to a shower cap and small toiletries in the restroom. Every day the bed was made and the room straightened. She even placed a plate on the table for a croissant I had in a bag and placed our toiletries in nice cups in the restroom. It was over 100 this week and the AC was fantastic in our room and kept it cool and comfortable. The location was perfect to walk to everything and it’s so close to the train station making it easy to come and go. The beds were very comfy too. This room was adorable and even my teen son loved it. The restroom is not attached but it’s private and locked so we didn’t mind. Stephanie even has robes in the wardrobe. The shower was so wonderful. It had three different heads, a rain shower, a hand held, and a wall mounted rain head. 10/10! I would definitely stay here again. The pictures don’t do it justice.
- Gretchen (10/5): Exceptional - Stefania is so sweet! Was able to get room ready early. Coordinated check out and kept our bags until we needed them for departure. Perfect location to walk from the train and walk to major sites in Florence. Highly recommend!! Not a thing
- Felicity (8/5): Very good -
- İsmail (8/5): it's okay, but it could be better - The size of the room was larger than expected. The location was 5 minutes from the train station. Cleanliness was ok but can be overlooked as it is an old apartment. There is a lot of noise at night. We had trouble sleeping. The bed was a little uncomfortable.
- Kostya (9/5): Superb -
- Misha (7/5): Great apartment and lovely hosts (only the street noise) - - The building is old, and it has stairs, but it was manageable. The room was very clean, and the services provided were on par with hotel standards.
- The owners were very kind and welcoming. They handed over the keys with all the necessary information, making for a warm arrival. Although breakfast wasn’t included in the booking, they kindly provided a small breakfast with bread, jams, coffee, and more—it was lovely. They even offered another breakfast on the second day and cleaned the apartment thoroughly again. · The only downside was the location. While it's close to the city center, the river, and major attractions, the street itself has many restaurants and a very noisy bar. It was loud until 3 or 4 a.m. I really wanted to give this place a 10, but this issue made our stay difficult—we couldn’t sleep through the night. I used my noise-canceling headphones and listened to music, which helped, but my parents couldn’t get any proper rest.
- Richard (9/5): Superb - Wonderful host…. home from home… clean and GREAT LOCATION Nothing!
- Lucian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shey (8/5): A home away from home in Flrenze - We like the homey atmosphere of Lucretia House. Our hosts, Stefania and Franco were so gracious and allowed us to check in earlier than the appointed time. We appreciate the thoughfulness and attention to detail by the hosts like providing bath robes, snacks, extra pillows, maps, reading materials and giving clear and thorough instructions on basic stuff. The room is clean and orderly. Near the train station. We would prefer to have an in-suite toilet but considering the B&B setting (and it was mentioned in their ad) and the character of the house - it's not really a big deal.
- Hakan (9/5): A comfortable property close to all main tourists attractions and managed by a great host! - 1) The host was very accommodating, helpful, response, and kind. He was always around to help us.
2) The room was spacious enough for three and clean. The kitchen was practical enough for us to brew tea and have breakfast. There was enough storage for our stuff.
3) The location for getting around is amazing. The property is close to the train station and all the touristic destinations. The people around the property was so loud at nights, especially on the Friday and Saturday. There weren't many bars around the property so we were confused, but English speaking tourists were yelling and sharing their intimate stories until 4 am in the morning (both nights). I wore silicon ear plugs but they weren't enough.
It's not property's fault, so I did not deduct any points for it. However, beware if you are a light sleeper.
- Deborah (9/5): Convenient, comfortable, welcoming - More of a ‘locanda’ than a hotel (i.e. no reception desk or lobby) but ideal for me — room with well-stocked little kitchenette, a.c., comfortable bed, table and chairs, wardrobe, tv, small but modern bathroom. Spotlessly clean and well-maintained. Hosts friendly, helpful, and very kind. One flight up, but host carried my suitcase upstairs so that was no problem. Good central location. On the corner is popular Ostaria 100 Poveri recommended by host, delicious and an incredible bargain. Toilet flush button had to be “pumped” (pressed several times) to work. But it always DID work ;-p
Lucretia House Hotel on a street with not much vehicle traffic, but overnight it got noisy when a steady stream of loud young people were heading to a nearby popular disco. (Noise muffled when I closed the windows).
- Marie-isabelle (9/5): A real home from home in Florence, and a lovely place to base ourselves for our visit. - Lovely little apartment in the heart of the city, including a seating area, cooking area and fridge. Wonderful hosts who made us feel really welcome, and who supplied cakes/milk/various snacks. Comfy beds and very convenient location.
- Michele (10/5): Simply the best! - My second stay at this charming private guest room; I wouldn't stay anywhere else. The location is close by to the main train station, not too far to walk into the historic centre, nor is it too far to walk anywhere e.g. across the river etc. The room has everything you need plus more, there is detail in the provision e.g. light bites for breakfast (at no charge), some kitchen ware, umbrella available, everything is well considered. Stephania is a beautiful hostess and along with her husband they are most gracious in ensuring your comfort. There is definitely pride taken in considering guest's comfort and convenience. Communication is excellent. You are given a thorough orientation to everything in the room. Hot water is plentiful and no interruption with wi fi Bed is comfortable and the pillows are great! Privacy and security is also excellent.
- Junior (10/5): Perfect - Host was always there for us, location perfect close to everything, room was clean and we even got some snacks from the host
- Shanice (10/5): This was one of my favourite stays while on my Europe holiday! Super cute, clean and cosy! The host are very friendly an - This was one of my favourite stays while on my Europe holiday! Super cute, clean and cosy! The host are very friendly and informative! Nothing, was amazing!
- Christopher (10/5): Great room - The room was excellent and the owners are very nice and accommodating. Excellent location, very well worth the stay.
- Nicole (8/5): Great place to stay in an excellent location - Great location, excellent and responsive host who was delightful to meet with. Comfortable and clean space. Nothing. Sometimes noisy outside but nothing that can’t be overcome with some earplugs!
- Mandy (10/5): A comfortable little apartment not far from all the sights of Florence. - This was a lovely experience staying in Lucretia house. The owner was very kind and welcoming, and for a fairly small space it had everything you could need. Comfortable beds, a small stovetop for cooking a meal or making coffee, some breakfast items, a table and chairs, and a nice bathroom with a good shower. Location was excellent, only a short walk to the main sights, and just a block away from the river. Great cafes and restaurants nearby, and 5 mins walk to train station too. There are stairs up to the apartment (first floor) but we managed fine with our bags. The apartment was perfect. There was a little street noise late into the night on one evening - but you could still sleep and ignore it. The owner gave us a good recommendation for a local cafe. We hadn't been to Florence before and would have been happy to be offered more recommendations (such as good restaurants, location of local supermarket).
- Kelly (8/5): Everything we needed - We were upgraded to a room with all the facilities possible needed for an enjoyable stay. Host was lovely and very helpful with information. location was perfect - close to the station but also close to walk distance from all attractions and restaurants.
- Pengfei (10/5): Exceptional - room is clean and air conditioning cool, closed to center and river, quiet. just the timing management must be strict, this is little tight for tourist. room itself is Good
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely stay at Lucretia house. Stefania was a fantastic, thoughtful host. Amazing location and brilliant facilities.
- Fernando (8/5): Very good -
- Angus (7/5): Honest Couple Review - This is an honest review from a couple's perspective. If you are a single, this is not a bad quality room, but the location is not desirable, see the points below:
Room: the room is fairly small for a couple and the air conditioner was lackluster during a hot summer. The bathroom is outside of the bedroom and was annoying to have to get to amongst locking doors and having to go back and forth. Randoms can walk past and if you're not careful with closing doors it can be a bit 'awkward'. The host also lives upstairs from this room and it could be invasive for some. Stefania was a nice host though!
Location: the location is really nice and it is close to the centre. Just be careful at night alone as there are some shady people going up and down the street you stay in. - Wendy (8/5): Great location and very helpful host! - Stefania was a wonderful host, very helpful! The room is nice with all necessary equipment. Stefania cleaned the room every day. Great location to visit Florence, with amazing restaurants nearby. Really recommend! Nothing
- Laura (8/5): Very good -
- Kim (10/5): Exceptional - We recently stayed at Lucretia House and had a fantastic experience. The location is central, making it incredibly convenient for exploring the city. The apartment itself was spotless and well-maintained, adding to the comfort of my stay. Stefania was very welcoming and responsive, answering all our questions in a timely manner. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a clean and centrally located accommodation with a helpful host. Nothing
- Trisha (8/5): Nice apartment in good location - Nice, clean apartment in a good location. You can easily walk to all places of interest or the train station. The host was friendly, informative and accommodating. Even though breakfast is not included they still provided bread, cakes and yoghurt. There's a laundromat right next door. The room is well insulated from the noise and is air-conditioned. It was a bit tight for us only because we were travelling with our toddler so we had an extra bed in the room and two large suitcases.
- Korakrit (9/5): Good, high suggestion - Near central station
Cery clean
Good takecare from host Instruction is too small to read when check in
Not change towel every day
- Ismail (8/5): Perfect Location - Location is perfect. Host is perfect. They were waiting us in the property, no need to find any keys before entrance. Building entrance smells a bit bad.
- Pranav (10/5): Exceptional -
- Keith (10/5): Exceptional - Great location, the building is very secure, well equipped and a good size. Although the bathroom was not attached to the room it's just right across the hall so not much of a hassle.
Stefania was very nice, great communication and welcoming.
- Ritchie (10/5): Exceptional - Stephanie was very nice and the room is exceptionally clean and beds are so comfy Nothing
- John (9/5): Superb - Location was great short from walk from the train station and historical centre. Great restaurant recommended by the host was just down the street. Host was friendly and helpful.
- Angel (9/5): Superb - Perfect location, nice staff.
- Rares (10/5): Exceptional - Clean room with all the expected facilities, comfortable beds, helpful staff, location close to the train station and historic center.
- Madeleine (9/5): Superb - The owner is sooo lovely and left us little treats. Really comfy beds and everything was clean. We loved this place and don’t have anything really negative to say. Was all pretty good except there was a slight tobacco smell in the room. The stairs are also a bit of a hassle and I’d also remember to bring ear plugs as there’s a bar outside where people are quite rowdy.
- Michael (9/5): Ideal location for exploring the city, friendly welcome and comfortable apartment - Good location near to the train station and central Florence. Friendly welcome and easy check in and out. Good facilities
- Guilherme (9/5): Superb -
- Morgane (10/5): Exceptional - The room is located in an ideal area, close to everything. The hosts are lovely and very accomodating. The bed was very comfortable and the room was spacious.
- Stacy (8/5): Children over 6 - Location was very good. Room nice as was some food for breakfast she provided. Host very nice. I messed up the booking and didn't see children over 6 are adults here so 15 euros more per night changed their price quite a bit, but still okay.
Also when I questioned this because I was surprised at this the owner offered to cancel, but it wasn't clear if she actually cancelled it or not so I was scrambling the day before our arrival to see what my options were. Turned out okay, but very stressful.
Also bathroom across the hall was inconvenient, but knew this going in. Just felt like I was disturbing others going back and forth unlocking the door.
- Raphy (10/5): Exceptional - Very friendly host, loved the place, close to baslica and stazione
- Justlilme (8/5): Nice place to stay - Lovely helpful friendly lady. Bathroom was across the corrider but not shared and worked ok. Still seemed very private. Nice to have aircon.
It is nice and close to railway station with a laundrmat next door.
- Josephine (8/5): Great location to see the beauty of Florence! - Had everything we needed for our stay. Host was lovely, location perfect
- Meghan (10/5): Exceptional - Everything. Stephanie was the BEST host we have had, ever. A bottle of wine to celebrate our honeymoon, happy to call and book dinner reservations and taxis for us. The location was fabulous and a laundry mat right next door. A fantastic stay!!
- Nicole (10/5): Exceptional -
- Matthew (9/5): Superb -
- Fabiana (10/5): Fantastic little stay 10 min walk from Florence - The host was lovely and attentive, super clean and very comfortable. Loved the foam pillows!
- Gloriya (10/5): Fantastic well-equipped room in the heart of Florence! - Stefania was absolutely lovely! Very thoughtful - she had prepared milk and some basic food for breakfast even though I didn’t have it included in the booking. The room has everything you might need. I’d most definitely stay there again. It was a little strange to have to lock my room to go to the bathroom but it was a minor inconvenience and it shouldn’t stop you from choosing to stay at Lucretia house. check out was quite early (10am).
- Aida (10/5): Very nice apartment in good location for visiting Florence and day trips. - Very nice accommodation in good location. It was easy to get there from train station. The host was very nice and easy to reach at all times. before and during our stay. He left plenty of breads, spreads and yogurt for us. The apartment is very clean and it was one of best stays in Europe for in many years. There is a kitchen with a fridge and stove sink, and all is needed to cook and have a meal in the apartment. There is a laundromat in the next building and very handy. There are a few restaurants on this street, we had a lunch at one with very typical tuscan food. It was easy to walk everywhere in Florence and explore it on foot. Also it was easy taking day trips. We stayed 5 nights. Much better than any hotel and we would stay there again.
- Lawrence (8/5): Very good -
- Cemal (10/5): A unique place for train travelers, you should definitely try it for your stay in florence - hospitality was great, location is very good everything was great :)
- Joanne (10/5): Exceptional - Absolutely amazing stay in florence!
The hosts could not have been more accommodating. Before we arrived they recommended parking which turned out to be metres from the apartment. There was coffee, milk and breakfast bits provided in the room and everything you could need. The room itself was huge and really central. Definitely recommend!
- Bar (10/5): Highly recommend - great location
very clean and comfortable facilities
the owner was very kind and helpful
