Guest Reviews
- James Canty (10/5): - I really loved staying here very clean staff was very helpful and attentive to my needs really appreciate it shops are nearby definitely will be staying here again
- Fiorino (6/5): - It was ok nothing at all special the tiny elevator barely fit my wife and I and the 2 suitcases , ancient elevator . Room was nothing special but it was close to the train station within a 19 minute walk so it was convenient . There was no reception no staff the entire stay so you are basically on your own seems like it is a self serve situation. Would I stay again ? No
- Navid (10/5): - We really enjoyed our stay at this place. It was close to many attractions and also easy access to Termini station.
- Saro (10/5): - The best hotel
- Tatiana (8/5): - Close to all amenities, dining, transport and monuments.
- David (10/5): - This property is located approx. 5min walk from the Termini. The Colosseum, Spanish Steps & Trevi fountain are all around 15min walk, whilst Vatican City is a short train ride away when getting on at Republica station.
Someone from Proja Housing (group that owns the rooms) was in contact prior to our arrival and I had noted we would be arriving early in the morning and could we store our bags - no issue with storing bags as the lovely Jen had our room ready when we arrived so we got early checkin. The room was spacious and spotless with house keeping completed every day!
The room had a spacious bathroom as well as a jacuzzi bath in the room. The complimentary bottle of wine was a nice added touch.
Would 100% recommend this accommodation as it is budget friendly, centrally located and immaculately cleaned!
- Hart (2/5): - This was the worst stay i have ever had. If i can caution you it would be do not risk your trip and stay at this location. There may be good reviews, but i fell for that as well. Disgusting rooms, horrible cleanliness. (Bed bugs were littering the beds). The staff is LAUGHABLE, they do not exist. and if you do see them they will do everything in their power to ruin your visit. It is disappointing that a place like this can be seen as a good place to stay in 2025. If you forget anything, they will keep it and lie to you about having it. Hilarious that this is still listed on expedia.
- Muti (10/5): Amazing hotel - This hotel is new and clean. Safe for female solo traveler.
- maia (10/5): - The property is clean, location is great, check in was easy even though I arrived after midnight,
- Allyson (10/5): - I stayed in four hotels in Rome and this was my absolute favourite. Check-in was done online (straightforward) and we didn't meet anyone working there. Note that if you're arriving late at night it might be cumbersome checking in because you can't really speak to anyone after 7pm.
My highlight was the fact that there's a hot-tub in the room.
- joseph (10/5): - Clean, great location . Spent one night .
- Fernando Augusto (10/5): - Very good experience,comfortable room,clean and good location.
Definitely i recommend!
- Rachel (10/5): - Great find! Conveniently located near the train station, while not feeling like it was right next to the train. Smaller space, but perfectly updated with lovely modern amenities. Clear check in instructions for after hours, and great communication through some flight delays on our end. Perfect spot from which to explore Rome!
- Gina (10/5): - First of all, the check-in was a breeze. The young lady who welcomed us was very nice, quick, and efficient. The place was immaculate, cozy, and soundproof. Walkable to many interesting points and restaurants. I would recommend it and stay there again.
- Joe (8/5): Great stay! - Hotel was lovely and in a beautiful area of the city while still being accessible to the train station. I would totally stay here again. The only thing I would note is that I would rather have a couch than a jacuzzi tub in the room.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great stay - Very good location, safe neighbourhood, very clean and friendly staff. Nice view from the window and renovated premises.
Slow and outdated lift, the shower was separate to the toilet and you felt exposed in the room.
- Andres (10/5): Excellent hotel - Great location easy to walk to Termini train station and sightseen.
The housekeeper paid attention to details.
Also she alerted us of a public transportation strike.
The receptionist was very helful and also gave us directions and restaurants information.
- Ivan (10/5): - Close to everything in Rome. Prime location for tourism.
- Arwa (6/5): - Walking distance from Rome sights, but bad service.
- Hector Inigo (10/5): Great value! - Fantastic location, great service and accommodations
- Eduardo (6/5): - Access to the property (apartment) was not restricted, anybody from the steer had the possibility to access up to the property door
- Sassy (10/5): - The place is near the train station and is very nice.
- Antonio (10/5): - Nice place to stay, close to Termini and all the sites
- Gene (10/5): - The bed was comfortable and the water pressure was excellent. The place was very clean and the price was good. I also loved the location.
- Melanie (8/5): Cozy Stay in Rome - Our room was small, but well organized. All the amenities are there, but in a small footprint. It was also very clean and the staff was very helpful. We also had the corner room, so it was nice to open the windows and hear the city sounds. My only recommendation would be better lighting and a make-up mirror in the bathroom.
- Amanda (10/5): - This hotel was so cool!!! Loved the cleanliness. We felt very safe. The updated nature of was great too. It was easy to contact them too.
- Stanislav (8/5): - The check-in is a bit complicated, but this may be due to the fact that we have arrived before 10:00 am. If you arrive earlier, it is a bit tricky to check in. we waited till 10:00, when a staff arrived and after that all was fine.
- Mark (10/5): - Great Stay at Opera 58. The shower was kind of small. Never really saw a person except to housekeeper. But the hotel was Clean and comfortable. I would highly recomend it was close to Termini Station.
- Juan (10/5): - Amazing place! We stay here for 3 night with my wife, the place was so clean and smell so good when we arrive, self service check in, the staff is really responsive via whatsapp they answer every time i needed, great location just 10-15 min walk to attraction’s, there is a Metro station near also, few restaurants and coffee shops around.
- Madelaine (8/5): My stay - Opera 58 hotel was a really great hotel to stay in. The location was right in the heart of town and had a beautiful view of the opera house. It was however really difficult to lock the room door and even won’t lock at some points. But otherwise a really beautiful place!
- Nos4atu (10/5): Great place to stay near Termini - Close walking distance to Termini in area full of hotels and restaurants. No street noise issues as windows are double paned. Very safe to wander around at night. Older building houses another hotel operation and residential apartments but Opera 58 group bought several units on one floor which are updated, modern and comfortable. There is Carrefour grocery just steps away at the corner. Would definitely choose same place on next visit to Rome.
- Robert (8/5): - Property was clean and great location. Very quiet hotel and area
- jorge (10/5): - Everything was great!! Thank you!!! Gratize!
- M1DXB (10/5): Comfortable hotel in a good location - An unusual "hotel" in that we didn't meet a single person (staff or guest), but instructions and queries were handled via WhatsApp. Our room had an open outlook to the Opera house, but there wasn't a lot of street noise. Bed was comfortable, and everything was clean and in good condition. Shower cubicle was neat but usable. Good location within walking distance to Termini station and to Colosseum etc. Plenty of bars and restaurants in the area - Tosca, opposite, particularly recommended.
- David (10/5): - An unusual "hotel" in that we didn't meet a single person, staff or guest, but instructions and queries were handled via WhatsApp. Our room had an open outlook to the Opera house, but there wasn't a lot of street noise. Bed was comfortable. Shower cubicle was neat but usable. Good location within walking distance to Termini station and to Colosseum etc.
- Nicolle (10/5): - Unique in that there is no person - all is done via detailed QR code/email/text/whatsapp messages.
Seemed to work!
- Joanne (10/5): - Very convenient as near Termini. Nice clean and comfortable. Any queries were answered promptly via WhatsApp. Had a great time.
- Sanjeev (8/5): - Good service and clean rooms it is also in a great location with access to public transport and restaurants
- Ludmila (10/5): - Very clean apartment. Communication is very easy, instructions are clear.
- Sébastien (10/5): - Very nice place! The housekeeper was very attentive.
- Kevin (8/5): - Great choice for a warm Rome trip
- AKINPELU (10/5): Great Hotel Great staff - My luggage was lost by the airline but the hotel made easier helping in every way
- Khaled (10/5): - We liked our stay! Everything was clean and comfortable.
I just didn't like the access to the room via Internet. If you don't have internet, you won't be able to enter the first time.
Also, you could hear others in the bathroom through the ventilation quite clearly which was annoying.
Other than that, I recommend staying at Opera 58.
- Julie (10/5): - Opera 58 was excellent. Great location, walkable to metro, train station and major attractions. Coffee and restaurants near by. Grocery store across the street.
- Jose Abel (8/5): - The area was right in the center of everything.
- Charisse (8/5): Great Stay! - Overall, great place! The room is really spacious and comfortable. The location is perfect! It's in a safe and lively area within walking distance of Termini station, with many food options around, along with a grocery store right across the street. You can walk to the popular sites from here as well, including the Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, Piazza Venezia, etc. There's also a few metro stops nearby, as well as bus stops nearby, so you can easily get around town with public transport as well. Because this property has many rooms inside a seemingly large apartment, the only issue I had was noise-related. At times, I could hear the toilets flushing next door to me or loud noises of appliances being used next door that sometimes felt like it was coming right out of my room! Besides that, I enjoyed my stay.
- Yeison (8/5): Good hotel. - Very convenient hotel.
The only thing missing was someone on reception most of the day
- Kenneth (10/5): - Great walkable location. Clean quite room.
- Michael (8/5): - Very clean nice staff great location..would stay again
- Adam (10/5): - Nice place and good location. I recommend this place.
- Bonnie (10/5): - Lovely room across from opera house. Great location in Rome blocks from Termini station. Located inside entrance of Hotel Sonya so a bit difficult to understand how to check in. Will stay again in future.
- Kaithlyn (10/5): - Good area
- Wendy (10/5): - Convenient location
- Margaret (8/5): - Good location,
- Adam (10/5): - A short walk to/from the train station for easy access. Close to major sites; lots of restaurants nearby. Super friendly staff!
- Raymond (10/5): - The staff was excellent and well situated for travel.
- Deborah (10/5): - Excellent location, fantastic restaurants nearby. Great customer service. Clean and comfortable. Would stay again.
- Sharon (10/5): - Loved this place. Air conditioning . Staff were excellent. Building Had the greatest character. Close to dining options and Roma termini was in walking distance.
- Kyran (10/5): - Wonderful boutique hotel, will be back
- Kevin (10/5): - A lovely boutique hotel directly across the street from the Opera House. Very smartly designed and appointed, I will certainly be staying there again on my next visit to Rome.
- Mike (10/5): - The property was great! The only problem was that you could only check in between 2:00 and 6:00. We didn’t know that the hotel was on the second floor, until the hotel on the first floor told us. It was actually the third floor since the first floor is 0. We arrived at 11:00 and the door to the lobby was locked. We had issues with our phones and couldn’t call the number in the door. Had someone call it and they answered promptly and had housekeeping open the door. She was great and helped us. Then she also let us check in before 2:00. The hotel is only staffed between 2:00 and 6:00 pm. There is no sign on the street for the hotel. So make sure you contact them and call term before you arrive.
- Pablo (10/5): - Excellent
- Tyler (10/5): - My wife and I stayed at Opera 58 for 5 nights and we absolutely loved it. The room was clean, modern and comfortable. The receptionist and cleaning staff were extremely pleasant and the service was impeccable.
The location was great, we loved being right across the street from an affordable supermarket that had all of our needs. We were also surrounded by amazing restaurants and the view was beautiful from our room.
We felt very safe throughout our stay, and the staff were very quick to respond to Whatsapp messages when we needed to reach out.
Thank you so much for helping make our first trip to Rome unforgettable!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Cold air conditioning, large shower with great water pressure (2 very important things for my partner which are challenging to find) clean modern room, very convenient location to tourist sites and Termini station, many restaurants and shopping nearby. This is not a traditional hotel as there is not a reception on premises which made check in confusing. You need to check your emails then reply filling out passport info etc to self check in. Once we got the hang of things it was fine. There is a small secure reception area with no staff present in which we were allowed to store our luggage on day of departure I would stay here again
- Tanya Di (10/5): - Great property ! Very clean. A little tricky getting in but we figured it out with the instructions that were sent. Great restaurants around. Walked everywhere from here. Termini station is only a 6 min walk away too !
- David (10/5): Perfect - Great host. Beautiful view outside window. New updated. Acknowledged our anniversary
Would stay again.
- Sarah Mary (10/5): - We are just back from a stay here and was great! The location is great, accommodation was clean and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful!
- Rachel (8/5): - Property was clean and tidy. Room was a decent size. A little difficult to find, based inside a building with other hotels. Old fashioned lift was a bit scary and only fitted in 2 guests at a time. Area was quite noisy outside the property. Handy for access to Rome Termini. Could do with touching up paint areas in the bedroom
- Christy (10/5): - No parking
Big big issue
- Kerry (8/5): - The property is a short walk from the station. Walkable distance from many of the top attractions. Plenty of cafes and bars directly outside and surrounding streets, and a small supermarket across the street. 20 minute walk from the meeting point for many excursions. The property was clean, comfortable and everything we needed it to be. Small fridge, hairdryer, kettle, cups/glasses tea /coffee, soap products & towels provided. With daily option to have maid service or not. Would definitely stay here again.
- Francisco (10/5): - The receptionist was so nice and kind. Very friendly and welcoming She communicated with me the entire time. I was arriving by train. And was passed the expected check-in time. Nonetheless, she waited for me had an easy, fast and pleasant. Check-in definitely staying at this hotel again. Very nearby to termini station, 8 minute walk tops.
- Tyler (8/5): - great location near the train station, convenient for getting around on foot.
my only negative feedback is to reduce the amount of cleaning chemicals. such a strong smell of chemicals in the bathroom area when we checked in.
- Faren (10/5): No Disappointment - The hosts are very helpful upon our arrival.
The room is very clean and comfortable. I give more credit to the jacuzzi.
The location is very convenient. Easy walk to the train station.
- Tim (8/5): Simple and good - Simple one night stay, only thing that was a bit hard was finding the actual entry to the hotel, it was a shared entrance with another hotel named Hotel Sonya. Everything else was great.
- Simon James (10/5): - Superb service excellent location and a great room they couldn't do enough for us
- 137SimonB137 (10/5): Awesome time in Rome - Awesome service great room and close to everything you should visit ,would recommend opera 58 to everyone as they could not do enough to help , they even left a card and cake for my wife's birthday.whole check in and put was easy and simple everything was within walking distance and the metro if needed. Room was clean tidy and quiet ,
- Lisa (10/5): - We have no complaints. We would stay here again. Close enough to the train station to walk with our luggage. Bed was very comfortable.
- Ayham (4/5): - Staff were nice and accommodating when they were there. It’s more like rooms in a large condo than a hotel.
Location is pretty nice. Close to everything.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Comfortable and quiet boutique hotel - Julia was amazing. She booked us tickets for the hop on and off tour plus colosseum access. She also have us great recommendations for food that weren't the traditional tourist spots and we thoroughly enjoyed them. We will stay again in a future trip.
- 545dianw (10/5): Excellent, clean, close to attractions, hardworking staff! - This is a darling boutique hotel. The staff went above and beyond, answering so many questions and helping me with directions, even recommending a hair salon open on a Sunday. The hotel is very clean and in a great location. I easily walked to the Colosseum. The rooms are small, that’s why it’s a “boutique.” It was perfect for one person. I imagine it would be good for a husband and wife, but it would not be enough room for families or even friends traveling together. I would stay here again.
- Varun (10/5): - Absolutely love this place. It has a really nice Roman authenticity through the entrance, but once you enter the hotel its totally modern and very charming. My wife and I stayed in the Superior room and it was way beyond what we expected. It's really nicely put away and doesn't lack any amenities.
It's location is amazing, you can walk to Trevi, Colosseum and a bunch of other sites. Right within a 2 minutes walking distance are some amazing restaurants, bars, cafes and gelato spots, you can also get some of the cheapest souvenirs in Rome within a 4 minute walk. In the street nearby there's a pop up market with some really nice authentic Italian fashion pieces and fresh fruits and veggies.
Honestly, I'll be staying here for all of my future Rome visits. We highly recommend staying here, it's really the best of all worlds when it comes to visiting Rome.
- Diane (10/5): - This is a darling and very clean boutique hotel. The staff went above and beyond answering questions and helping with directions. The staff are five star for sure!! This was great for a single traveler, and I imagine for a married couple it would also be good. It would be too small for friends traveling together, and for families. It is within walking distance to the big sites, and shopping is right around the corner. Delightful place to stay!
- Robin (10/5): - The front desk is open limited hours so if you arrive outside those hours you have to follow instructions on how to do a self check-in. I missed the reception hours so I was a bit concerned but it turned out to be super simple. The front desk sent me a link that electronically opens the doors and a long email with a description of how to enter the building g complete with photos of each step. Great system. Once I was in the room I plugged something in and it blew a fuse! I sent an email to the staff and within a minute I had a telephone call and they walked me through what I had to do to fix the problem.
- Benedict (10/5): - Had an excellent time
- John (8/5): - Rooms were serviced well, beds made every day etc reception only manned in the afternoons makes check in online necessary if you arrive at other times
- L (8/5): - The hotel is a boutique hotel in a large building with other accommodations. The room was small by American standards but very comfortable with everything that we needed for our stay. The staff were very helpful, even arranging for a taxi for us to an early morning departure. The location was very good for the main train station, restaurants, small markets, a street market and nearby attractions. Would stay again.
- Miguel Angel Morales (10/5): - The room looks new . Every day the housekeeper clean the room. Very close to the Roma termini. Restaurants all around. I feel safe. The person in the desk very nice . Very good place
- Dana (10/5): - I recently stayed at this distinctive hotel in Rome and had a wonderful experience. It's a quaint setup of around 6 rooms on one floor of a historic building with a vintage lift as an elevator, sharing space with another hotel and businesses. Hotel Sonya is on the bottom floor, and the staff there provided me and others with an umbrella when it rained!
While breakfast isn't provided, there's an espresso machine in the common area and each room comes with a mini-fridge and hot pot. Plus, there's a grocery store just across the street for all your snack needs. A pharmacy is right down the street as well.
It’s a great location if you need a taxi and they show up within 3-4 minutes.
The location is superb, amidst various restaurants gelatos shops and is directly opposite the Rome Opera House. Many key Rome sites are also within a 15-20 minute walk.
While breakfast isn't provided, there's an espresso machine in the common area and each room comes with a mini-fridge, bottled water and a hot pot. Plus, there's a grocery store just across the street for all your snack and breakfast needs.
The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, adding to the overall pleasant experience. They are only there for limited hours, but reply to your texts on what’s app right away.
If you're looking for a clean, affordable place in a prime location and don't mind skipping full-service amenities, this hotel is a great choice. I had a flawless stay and highly recommend it!
- Susana (10/5): - This place was so good,so clean, relax and close to everywhere, wonderful place
- David (10/5): - It's a boutique hotel on the second floor. There is another hotel on first floor. Just take the stairs or elevator and press #2 and go to front desk. They have someone to receive hoy from 2 pm to 6:30 pm. If you need different hours there is i think a 20 euro charge. It is literally 8-10 minute walk from Termini train station. It is literally across from Teatro dell'Opera Roma. The Rome Opera theater. There is a metro line nearby and bus routes if you use them. You 5 minutes walking from Basilica Santa Maria Maggiore. 15 minutes walking to Trevi Fountain. Room was decent size and very clean. Maid cleaned everyday. And you can leave your bags there in case your flight leaves after 10 am checkout and come for them before 6:30 pm. I left them all day and returned for them at 6 pm. The reception office is where you can leave your stuff for free. Or you can go online and reserve a locker in Rome to leave your things. Plenty of businesses offer that service for a fee
- Michelle (10/5): - This was a confortable stay from the bed to the bath. Very friendly staff and great location.
- Integra (10/5): - Very friendly staff, beautiful modern room in historic building. Taxi service available to the airport. Tea and coffee in the room, nice view. Cozy bed, best stay in Rome out of four hotels i stayed in.
- Frank (10/5): - Had a four night stay while on a sight seeing trip of central Rome.
Opera 58 was an ideal location - 15-20 minutes walk through the picturesque back streets of Rome to the main sights - although there’s a number of hills.
Staff kept in touch via WhatsApp each day to see if everything was acceptable or if there was anything they could do for us.
Rooms were ideal for a couple - really comfortable bed, A/C, and a big shower/wet room.
Would happily stay there again and recommend it to anyone looking for a simple and convenient base for walking around Rome.
- Heidi (10/5): - Cool guest house. Staff was great. Hard to find with Google maps
- Paolo (10/5): - Wonderful young lady greeted us at the reception
- Suzanne (10/5): - Great quiet property. Excellent option for those who don't need onsite staff. Cleaned daily. Staff available via WhatsApp and they couldn't be more responsive. Every question I had was addressed very quickly. So happy with this property.
- Katherine (10/5): - I thoroughly enjoyed my time here and would definitely recommend. It was perfect for my quick stay in Rome, I was able to walk everywhere I wanted to quite easily and quickly. There were restaraunts, grocery stores etc right around the corner. Very close to the train station as well. The room itself was very clean and had everything I needed.
- Dewi (10/5): - This is a quirky little hotel located in the second floor of a traditional town house building. There is a different hotel located on the ground floor.
We loved our stay here, staying for 3 nights in March. We had two rooms for our family group. The hotel was clean and the staff were great. Chiara, the receptionist was in contact with us before we arrived to check our arrival and to warn us the Rome marathon was taking place on our arrival date.
On arrival, she offered recommendations for places to eat and drink which were great.
The location was great for walking to all the popular sites.
We were often out early in the morning and late in the evening and the area felt very safe to walk around. We would definitely return to this hotel. Thank you Chriara and Hotel Opera 58!
- sonam (10/5): - Great property and clean. The staff was excellent.
- Nicholas (10/5): - Really good comfortable bed and the jacuzzi in the room was nice after long days of exploring Rome. Shout out to Carla
