- woohyuk (4/5): - I had to book this hotel suddenly at night due to a flight issue, and unfortunately, it was a very unpleasant experience. When I made the reservation through Hotels.com, I clearly entered 2 adults and 2 children (ages 13 and 14) and even paid extra for breakfast for everyone. However, at check-in, the hotel staff insisted that children over 12 years old must pay as adults for breakfast, so I was forced to pay an additional 9,200 yen. I had already paid 111,731 yen for the room in advance, and if I had known I would be charged extra like this upon arrival at 1:30 a.m., I would have chosen a better 5-star hotel instead of this old one that only has a good location. The breakfast was definitely not worth 4,200 yen per person — convenience store food nearby would have been much better. The hotel is connected to Osaka Station, which might be convenient during the day, but it was a nightmare at night. I arrived after midnight, and all the entrances and stairs around the station were closed. It took me over 30 minutes wandering around to finally find the hotel lobby. Even though I sent a message in advance saying what time I would arrive, the hotel never replied or offered any check-in guidance. If you plan to come back late at night, this place could actually be quite inconvenient. The location is good during the day, but the facilities are very old. For the price I paid, there are many better options in Umeda. I would never stay here again.

I found it easier to stay at a hotel outside of a train station vs in. But the room and service was excellent. Super clean and spacious room. - Brandon (10/5): - Location, location, location! If you want to stay close to Osaka Station this is the place. Hotel Granvia Osaka is right in the train station with quick access to the train and subway lines. Lots of places to eat and shop are right near by. The rooms were decent and the views were great. But the main selling point of this hotel is the location and the convenience of being so close to everything. I Definitely will stay here when I visit Osaka again.

Older people in our party liked that they could rest then take the elevator to a huge number of restaurant choices. The rest of us hopped on the subway to go exploring. Recommend for a mixed age group

- robmE2668EA (6/5): Room very dated - Reception and restaurant areas excellent. Location convenient but in room 3228 we heard the freight trains all night. Maybe there are better sides of the hotel. Staff very courteous and helpful. Breakfast excellent. Room was clean and a paid for spacious 35sqm but there the story goes downhill. There was no room safe. The fixtures in the room were 70s style cheap vinyl clad mock wood. The bed was almost against the wall on one side so pretty much had to get into bed from the bottom. The bathroom was a poorly constructed pre-fabricated unit. It wasn’t constructed squarely so the bath didn’t even fit properly by more than a centimeter at one end . There was nowhere to put a toilet bag. The shower was over the bath with a cheap plastic shower curtain. I have no idea when the hotel was built but it seems like it’s 50yo and the room hadn’t been renovated. We were there for a week but fortunately so busy that we only slept there. Back for one night in June at the end of our trip and I’ll be quizzing reception before accepting a room.
- lucia (4/5): - We stayed at the Granvia in Kyoto this year and in 2024. Kyoto hotel is AMAZING. Thought this hotel in Ozaka would be the same. Not at all. The rooms need to be remodeled they are old, not a clean impression. The carpet is dirty, the curtains, the bathroom fits only one person at a time. Very old. Will not recommend this hotel. This hotel needs a definite remodel.

- ng_ryan (8/5): Nice Stay - Great location, being right above JR Osaka station and not far from Umeda station. Daimaru department store is also next to the hotel. The room I stayed was ok, rather large by Japanese standards. It didn't have a safe, which I found a bit odd. I also had to ask reception to set the air conditioning to the lowest level, as it was too hot for my liking. Check in and check out was a breeze. Staff spoke English, which made communication a lot easier.

- Chi On (10/5): - Hotel is sitting in the Center Osaka, Center transportation hub for both JR and metro, shopping at Daimaru department store with Nintendo flagship store, Pokémon Center, Handsbe, and grand front Osaka is a must when you visit the first time, Biggest Yodobashi electronics mega store with many restaurants at the top floor will need your few days just to explore all within 5, 10 minutes walk! Hotel is comfortable and safe! Never regret as I have been staying in this hotel a dozen times at least! Enjoy

- Xin Ying (10/5): - Very convenient but quite hard to locate if first time visiting Osaka. The Osaka station area can be quite complex. Google map can be quite out of sync when trying to find direction from airport bus limousine drop off point to hotel. Else it is very conveniently located.
- kwekc2013 (4/5): Poor indoor air quality within guest room and poor service - We stayed between 16 to 20 April in this hotel. Since day one we felt that the air was extremely dry within the room and both my wife and I experienced dry throat and headache which affected our holiday trip. When we complained at the counter, the front desk manager simply brushed us off by stating that the conditions are similar to all rooms and there is already air purifier in the room. After efforts in explaining that such condition was unacceptable, he offered to send us a humidifier to improve the room air quality without even trying to check our room or source for another room. We were very taken aback by the attitude of the front desk manager. Subsequently, the staff brought a humidifier to our room and when checking the purifier, he informed us that there was no water in the device hence not working properly to humidify the room. These lapses were really unacceptable and I do not recommend anyone to stay in this hotel.

Only issue would be is the limited amount of electric outlets in the room especially near the bed. There isn’t any way to plug in your phone near the bed, so you may need to use the outlets on the counter with the fridge on the other side of the room.

- kenw587 (10/5): Grand Grandvia - A wonderful hotel located within Hiroshima Rail Station and easy to access from your train journey. Amazing food and a happy hour to die for …..about 3 hours of free food and drink ! It’s a lovely setting, great staff but get a big room as ours was a bit tight but it was fine !

We are very pleased with the service provided by the hotel, especially we travel with luggage and the staff help us to get in and to take taxi downstairs. 5stars.
- FARAH (4/5): - Dated rooms with foul odor in the bathroom despite appearing clean. No temperature control in the room and room got too hot making it difficult to sleep. Beds were too hard to be comfortable. Receptionist and staff were polite and friendly but they can’t fix the above mentioned issues. The property needs a major overhaul! Truly disappointing experience and waste of my money. Will book elsewhere next time.

The floor did not look very clean. It was fine because it was only one night. The room had an air cleaner and a humidifier combined. It had a red light on, so I asked the front desk to have someone look at it. I was told to fill out the water tank myself for "sanitary reasons". I had to figure out how to refill the tank. It was not difficult, but I found it was not sanitary for me to change the water because I had to touch something, which no one knew how it was handled, and I did not have any protective gear. The service can be improved.

Great to be near all trains! We were grateful we stayed at this hotel vs elsewhere in the city. So much to explore in Osaka and so nice to return to Umeda and enjoy the multitude of restaurants and shops at the end of the day!

Every other hotel we went to provided a futon, but not Granvia - they expect we share a twin bed with our 11 yr old. Ended up paying and extra 50k yen to upgrade the room in order to get a bed for our son.

- SEASIDEJOHN (6/5): Ideal location - Had 4 nights in this hotel, it is ideally situated right above the main station, but it took us a while to find it!! Staff were very pleasant, the bedroom was on the smallish side but it didn't particularly bother us. We didn't have breakfast here as we were out most mornings very early so got food in teh station as there is like another world with the underground and train stations so close. If you have limited time, I would say this is a perfect hotel.
