- Sookwan (10/5): Nice to stay - This hotel is located in an area where many people say you shouldn’t stay. But I don’t really understand why they say that. It’s a neighborhood with many Middle Eastern immigrants, but it doesn’t feel dangerous at all. The streets are lively, and best of all, the hotel is only a 5-minute walk from Metro Line 12, so transportation is very convenient. The hotel is also clean and reasonably priced.

- babatunde (10/5): - The first room I was, wasn’t good at all, no wind blind, spoke to staff on duty, he wasn’t kind, said he couldn’t change it, I fell faced down completely, he pretended not to see me, however, other staff were good. Local shops nearby and WiFi was available

- Craig (10/5): Convenient to the metro and Great room - I give this hotel the highest rating because the room was clean, comfortable and quiet… Nicer than I expected… Breakfast was plentiful and had good options. My only complaint was there was screaming and fighting outside on the street very late on Saturday night and the police came. There was also screaming the night before. I did not let this affect my rating… But it is good to be aware. I also would suggest taking the metro there from the train station… The walk felt a little sketchy with luggage. Overall great experience.

- Michael (8/5): - Hotel is very well done inside, and looks new. Staff was very friendly and helped us planned our excursions. Breakfast buffet is very well done. Driving to it and parking is a little tedious. Make sure to read the parking instructions well before attempting to get into the parking garage. Very close to the Metro which makes it very easy to get downtown to see all the main tourist attractions.

- Paul (10/5): A great hotel. Great transport links and area. - We got the Eurostar in to Gare Du Nord at about 8:30pm and decided to walk the 25 mins to the hotel, following directions on my phone. It was our first trip together to Paris. It was a miserable grey evening and leaving the station we were taken a back by the amount of litter, the smell (not good) and number of homeless and immigrants in the area. It felt like we’d entered another dimension. The route to the hotel wasn’t much better and when we arrive to find the hotel stood back behind a security fence we did start to wonder what we had let ourselves in for. However, that’s where the negative experience ended and once through the front door we were delighted to find a modern, spotlessly clean hotel within. The reception staff were very welcoming and friendly. Our room was 702. The room was very clean and we were delighted to find we had a view of the Eiffel Tower. It was’t a huge room, but plenty big enough for us on our whirlwind stop in Paris. (Just 3 nights). The air con worked fantastically well and the tea/coffee facilities were great. The bathroom had a fabulous shower and the double bed was very comfy. The hotel is just a 5 min walk from the bus and metro stops and has plenty of shops and places to eat around it. Our first impression of Paris quickly vanished as we explored its offerings and we loved coming back to this hotel. On our final morning we made use of the baggage store so we could continue exploring before our trip home. We will return and stay here again.

The Metro station Marx Dormoy is two minutes away.. the bus stop from Gare du Nord too and a wonderful boulangerie just before McD. I loved the experience and will return. The trains seem to run about every minute and I visited arrondissements I had never been to. The hotel and breakfast were great...

Most frustratingly paid for an upgraded room with a coffee machine which didn’t work the first day. Also given only 2 pods!

- Christoper (10/5): - The most common complaint about this property in the reviews is the location surrounding it, which thankfully was Not an issue at all during the 8 days I was there. It's just a super diverse area so if you're not used to that much diversity of course it's a little intimidating. Rest assured that nobody is camping outside the hotel trying to hurt anybody, streets are filled with joggers, bikers and people just doing their day to day errands. It's a culturally rich area so the food was amazing, shops Everywhere and super close to Montmartre. The hotel itself is modern, free WiFi, AC, the showers were amazing, the TVs have plenty of English channels and also have an option to watch YouTube on them, hotel staff all very nice and helpful, most of them spoke English very fluently. I'm very minimalist so I don't have a single complaint, If you're on a budget this place is Perfect. Everywhere I went in Paris accepted ApplePay/Tap To Pay including the hotel. It was my first solo travel and my first time in Paris and I'm dying to go back next year.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Convenient Stay with Helpful Staff - Simon's Boutique Hotel offers a decent stay, earning a solid three stars. While the location isn’t the most ideal, it’s surrounded by plenty of shops, which adds some convenience. The area is diverse and far from boujee, located about 30-40 min drive from Champs-Élysées/Eiffel Tower. Most of the staff spoke English and were always willing to assist whenever we needed help. The room was a bit small, but it was sufficient for a short stay. The bathroom was surface cleaned, but the towels and linen were very clean. We didn't get a chance to try the breakfast buffet offered at 16 EUR per person or any food/drinks. Overall, it’s a comfortable option if you’re looking for a budget friendly place to rest for a few nights.

- ibrahim (6/5): Ok hotel - My experience has been average some of the staff was impolite. I was walking in the city and I was lost when asked for help the staff refused to call a cab to my location. Even did not to volunteer to ask where I am to give any help whatsoever. The location is NOT safe and I personally witnessed an attack on passenger car breaking front mirror. This said I would not recommend this hotel for someone first-time visitor.

You have to keep hold onto the button to use the dryer and this would not be suitable for people who has athristis. No staff was around during breakfast except for popping their head round to take room number and very limited hot breakfast was available.

The hotel was kept clean. during the reservation I requested 1 room with twin bed for my son and another room with a queen bed for me and my husband; when we got there the first room had 2 twin beds that could not be joined and the second room had 1 twin bed; No changes was made during our stay, my husband and I had to sleep in separate beds. The room had no microwave or refrigerator, we explained that we would pay for those amenities, the receptionist stated she would have to book different rooms in order to receive them. The television has no English stations, we had to watch You tube for 8 days.. Make sure you bring your own washcloth when you travel to Europe because that's not included in the amenities. Breakfast needs improvement; the fruits, juice and hot beverage made the breakfast; otherwise I would have breakfast at a restaurant. The hotel is close to all transit.

- marin (10/5): - It is a very great area with metro and bus station very close on a walking distance not to mention Basilique du Sacré-Coeur Montmarte is less then half an hour away walking the place itself it’s divine during the day and night also . Although I have read comments from other people complaining about the area let me tell you that it is very safe and yes we walked in the morning in the afternoon and also after midnight and never had any issues with anyone. There is a Carrefour next to the hotel and also plenty other small shops which are so useful when needed , coffee shops , terraces and restaurants. The hotel itself is fantastic we travel a lot and have seen many places everywhere I was very surprised in the nice way about everything ; they have a private underground parking very secure there are two electric gates to acces it . The cleanliness of the apartment was spotless rooms very decent size with floor-length curtains which help to reduce sunlight when want to sleep longer also PVC windows super quality . I thought the best thing was that we slept better than at home they have some mattresses and pillows that you really sink into are so very comfortable we really miss them. Bathroom was also nice very large shower with two shower heads and large sink sewerage and ventilation work perfectly fine that’s another bonus ; there were shampoos , conditioners , body cream , soaps , napkins , toilet paper , hairdryer and a lot of bath towels clean and nice smelling .

While the hotel itself appeared nice, we chose for our safety to leave and go to a different hotel. We were happy to pay for the first night of our stay since our was so last minute but requested a refund for the other nights and was denied. Frustrated to say the least. Would not recommend staying here if you’re not from the area or with a small group.

The staff were so kind—we called them 2-3 times to ask questions weeks before we were set to arrive and they were so patient with us & reassuring about everything (fwiw, we’re Americans who only know a few French terms/phrases and all of the staff spoke English and French…and probably other languages too). Once we were checked in, they were always available when we needed something. They gave us buckets of ice whenever we asked & were very helpful. The room was spotless and extremely spacious (including shower/bathroom). We rented a room on the top floor with a killer balcony (it was huge!) and that had an amazing view. Highly recommend. We pored over reviews of many hotels before choosing our stay in Paris. We were a little nervous based on people saying that this neighborhood didn’t seem safe late at night, that there were “gangs” of men around, etc. but we took a chance. Good thing we did because it became immediately clear to us that everyone who wrote that was a white Karen who’s afraid of people of color. So if you’re not a white Karen and you can treat black people, Indian, Pakistani, Arab (etc) people like decent human beings, you’ll be fine. This place is great. The surrounding restaurants are great. The neighborhood is great and community-oriented with mostly non-white neighbors. We are 2 femme lesbian women & came back after dark every single night the whole week we stayed & never felt threatened even once. STAY HERE you won’t regret it!

The downside was the hotel was difficult to get to, but that can be said of many hotels in Paris. And got just the so call city view in which it was blocked by a building!! Room were very small where we had to walk like crabs!! But told it’s normal for Parisian hotels.
- Ed (10/5): Hidden gem - This is real Paris. Location might seem out of the way, but the metro is a block away. We had a balcony room and it was nice and quiet. Good breakfast but book/pay in advance to save a few $. Lots of food options nearby including local grocery.

- Fadya (8/5): My experience in Simon’s Boutique hotel (paris) - In apprehensible Prices of French beer in the hotel’s ice bar that are too much over in comparison with other local hotel’s bars. In addition, the outdoor board of the hotel’s name needs to be more obvious & clear for the guests who are arriving the hotel for the first time .
- ALUN (8/5): Good value, clean but not perfect - Hôtel was clean, good value for money but unnecessarily mean: only two milks supplied a day for a hot drink and no coffee Local area was reputedly rough but we had no significant problems though I’ve never seen bars with only male customers before and quite as many men seemingly just hanging around

- Verified traveler (10/5): City break in Paris - Lovely little hotel, very clean and correct modern deco just like in pictures (not runned down nor dated). Beds were comfortable and the staff very friendly and helpful. 2min walk to nearest metro station, and the area is ok with plenty of restaurants and a little square with bars and a rush market. I would be happy to come back again.

- Sheena (10/5): Spotless - This hotel is spotless. Previous reviews mentioned the area surrounding it. While certainly not affluent I would describe it as ‘up and coming’ rather than rough. The Metro is a block away and there is a supermarket about a minute away. It is a 15 minute walk from Gare de Nord and you could just get the Metro there as well. Good coffee on the corner just before the Metro ( name escapes me but red poinsettias as decoration). I will stay there again if rates as reasonable as they are now.

- Sophie (10/5): - The hotel was great for what we paid, and all the staff we spoke to were really lovely and helpful. The area the hotel is in itself isn’t the nicest, and felt quite unsafe at night. But that is not their fault, but best to be weary if you’re out in the evening.

- Ajit (8/5): - A nice, clean, friendly property in a run down area that seems to be going thru renovation. Sidewalks are cracked and lots of roadworks going on. However, felt very safe; lots of affordable shops, stores, restaurants. Predominantly an immigrant neighborhood so lots of Indian, African, and Turkish food choices. Very convenient for Metro and bus connections. Gare du Nord is 0.6 miles south.

- Verified traveler (10/5): Hidden gem - Our experience with this hotel was nothing short of wonderful. From the first interaction with the lovely concierge (who were so incredibly helpful and genuinely kind) to the lovely room we had, our stay could not have been better. This property is located a short walk away from the Marx Dormoy metro station and it’s so easy to work your way around Paris using public transport. It was the perfect stay for us. The area this hotel is situated in was denoted as a bit rough, it’s definitely different to the more central parts of Paris but the people were nothing but friendly, and we felt safe enough to walk around at night time without any hassle. Definitely worth a stay!

My room is a single room but very beautiful and clean.Very easy access to metro train and can walk from gare du nord train station if you coming here by eurostar. Nothing i really dislike except the surrounding is a bit dirty but doesn’t affect my stay still loved the hotel though!

- Andrew (8/5): - This hotel was a very good stay. The check in was great, thank you to Charlene, quick and easy. Room small but sufficient perfect shower. Breakfast was low key but did the trick. Friendly staff all round. Area around is dirty and may feel unsafe because of the poverty, but don’t let this stop you from exploring. Great food and easy transportation and way cheaper than the tourist areas. Mainly migrants from Africa and sub continent countries some North African. Catching an Uber cost around €20 to the Eiffel Tower at night, and about a €12 taxi ride from Gare du Nord during the day. Metro goes straight to Concord for €2 where you can catch the on and off bus tours. Great deals at Expedia on things to do. Happy travels.
- Mark (8/5): - A really pleasant hotel with very friendly and efficient staff. Unfortunately, the area that it's situated in is not ideal. My wife,especially, and I did not feel safe when we went out in the evening to get a meal not far away. Many homeless males roaming the nearby streets.

- Steven (8/5): - Found Ants in the bathroom. Front desk promptly delt with them. No other incidents for 3 days.
