The bathroom is pathetically small, to think that it's supposedly an upgraded room I've stayed in 3-star hotels in Tokyo and Osaka and their bathrooms are 50% bigger than Mercure Paddington's. I am petite and I would not recommend the hotel to anyone bigger than me, definitely not to a man. Also, not quite enough wardrobe space.

I did not expect to find water and pop and even milk for tea in the fridge. It was Jo problem to ask for more water which was so appreciated. All very good.

- cnw1409 (2/5): Poor stay experience - I booked two Executive rooms because the hotel’s website indicated they are comparatively larger rooms. However, on check-in, one of the rooms allocated was significantly smaller, especially the bathroom, and it felt more like a standard room rather than an Executive one. I raised this with the reception, and they were able to re-allocate another room—but the replacement room was only supposed to be ready two hours after the normal check-in time. Two hours later, I entered the replacement room and found it still not quite ready: there was a piece of glass on the floor (it appears maintenance was incomplete), and bathroom amenities had not been replenished yet. ______________________________________ Communication with hotel guests On check-in, I received a WhatsApp message from the hotel inviting guests to raise issues and requests if need be. Naturally, I used that channel—but I did not receive any response from that WhatsApp account. It was only two days after check-in that I realised the hotel had another WhatsApp account for guest communication. This made the process frustrating and ineffective. I would suggest the hotel avoid using the first WhatsApp number for guest requests if it isn’t being monitored and responded to. ________________________________________ Service & responsiveness In general, most hotel staff were not quite helpful or responsive. For example, I requested bathroom amenities directly with housekeeping staff, but there was no response. I ended up having to go to reception to get the items, because the phones to reception/housekeeping were often busy throughout the day. ________________________________________ Other concerns • Noise level: The hotel is noisy—there was noticeable noise and vibration from the tube beneath the hotel. • Bathroom issues: We experienced water blockage for both rooms. Water pressure in the bathroom was also relatively low. • Room key inconvenience: We spent five nights in the hotel. We had to return to reception on the ground floor every day to re-activate the card key. It seems that there is some problem with the room key system. • Location: The hotel is conveniently located next to Paddington station. ________________________________________ Overall, while the location is excellent, the room allocation mismatch, maintenance issues, poor communication with guests, and service/amenity responsiveness, etc. significantly reduced my stay experience.

We returned at 7.30 p.m. but were told our room was ‘dirty’. We were offered an alternative room in a hotel ‘five minutes away’. When we objected the desk clerk said he had no recollection of any earlier conversation; we must have talked to ‘his twin brother’. So we went to the Hilton next door.

The room is much smaller than I expected. The bed is very soft and single bed is very small. There is no stair going into the hotel, if you have large luggage is not very user friendly.

The first room we were in - the toilet blocked and when we went to reception to tell them they said “what do you want us to do about it?”. To which my husband replied “fix it 🤷🏻♀️”. He stated that we were both over 65 and would need to us the toilet overnight and so they said they’d change our room. When we returned after a day if sightseeing - they gave us the keys to the new room and said our bags had been moved into it. We got upstairs and no bags!! So I went down to complain and also happened to mention that this second room was smaller than our first one and that I was disappointed - so they gave us a 3rd room, but we had to sort out getting our bags from one room to the other!!! After all that tooing and froing the rest of our 5 night stay went very well.

- adrian (7/5): NICE HOTEL, WOULD STAY AGAIN - LOCATION WAS GREAT, ROOM WAS SPOTLESS. ROOM WAS A BIT SMALL
- bertern (7/5): - Location excellent and staff good after sorting check in errors Arriving at 8.00m after 40 hours travel from NewZealand and booking from the previous day to arrive to a room. This was emailed to the hotel and our arrival time confirmed by them. There was no room ready. All rooms had been booked. The Mecure hotels system to flag such a request is either wanting or the staff on that evening lacked competency

- Paul (6/5): Disappointing for the Cost. Location great - Friendly initial arrival . Late night staff when we checked were not particularly friendly and gave us the wrong room despite me telling them I knew which room we should have had. Late at night then had to move to correct room. No apology. Room very small, bathroom very tight. Air con didn’t work . Room was so hot we didn’t sleep well.

- Ratna (7/5): It was comfortable and clean. Staff was very helpful - Very centrally located. The breakfast was good and wholesome. The room was very small. But considering it was Central London, I guess that is the norm The size of the room

- Geeta Raman (8/5): Overall great lication. The staff made the difference - The location and the staff was great. The walls are paper thin so I could hear someone above taking a shower.
- Christopher (8/5): - Location very convenient to Paddington Station. Bathroom sink was completely clogged and usable. Clog was cleared late in the day on my 1st day causing me to wait in lobby for over an hour rather than prepare for dinner. Was happy that problem was resolved but should have been before I checked in rather than during a time that I should have been expected to be in the room.

- Penelope (3/5): Unpleasant and uncomfortable - Close to Paddington Station Outdated like a cheaper motel room. No breakfast amenities on site, rooms the size of a closet, bathrooms desperately need cleaning and modernizing.
