• Fearless664001 (10/5): Mix of traditional and resort - I had a wonderful experience at Sunset Marina Resort & Yacht Club. From the moment we arrived, Gonzalo, Luis, Paloma, Norma, and the entire staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and genuinely committed to making our stay special. Their attention to detail and kindness truly stood out. They kindly accommodated us with a late check-out and even provided a full day pass, which made a big difference in enjoying our last day stress-free. The room was amazing—spacious, comfortable, and featuring a jacuzzi, which made it feel extra special and relaxing. The food exceeded expectations with a great variety of cuisines, including Mexican, Spanish, Caribbean, Mediterranean, and Italian dishes. Everything we tried was delicious. The Asian restaurant was especially memorable, with very flavorful dishes, à la carte options, and an Asian bar experience that includes a fun knife show. Another highlight is that the hotel connects with three other properties via shuttle bus or water taxi, giving you the flexibility to explore more areas. You can choose to relax by the pool, go kayaking, or visit the ocean for a different beach experience. Overall, an excellent stay with outstanding service, great food, and plenty of activities. I would definitely come back!
• 63dinim (8/5): Excellent propert - This was an excellent stay overall in February 2026 at Sunset Royal Cancun resort, with a point deduction because of the less efficient check-in and check out service. The resort was hands down one of the most beautiful, well-maintained, and clean resorts we stayed at. The room was a surprise, it seemed new or renovated, and it was spotless, a 2-story that was quite big for 2 people with seems like a two-bedroom with a jacuzzi in the backyard, with a full kitchen. It was stocked with everything, like it's home away from home. The refrigerator was stocked with beer and soda, as well as a daily supply of water. We did not touch the sodas. We did not take an all-inclusive because we were out every single day. We even went to Playas del Carmen for 2 nights. My hubby used the pool at their sister resort, Sunset Rousl, which was equally beautiful. There was a shuttle between resorts, which we often used. There was a water taxi, which we did not use. There was a daily housekeeping service that we always declined, since we always leave the room clean and tidy except for the bed. We still left a generous tip for the housekeeper. During checkout, we needed to leave early. The service from the shuttle drivers and bellhops were excellent. We were there early, quite early, communicated days before, and also confirmed the day before check-in, and we were willing to take any room they had. Unfortunately, we were given a room with a long wait. There was no apology from the front desk, and I was not even given anything to find out what they were offering, you know, I always had those papers during check-in, their amenities, etc., or asked me to go to the concierge. Someone only asked us to attend a presentation way after we had settled in the room. We had no time and declined the invitation to the presentation. So, all the things about the resort, I found myself. The checkout was not good either; he was not focused and did not even ask about our stay or thanked us. I think the front v desk needed some training. The resort was so beautiful with many restaurants and pool and amenities, they did not v have laundry room. Buses and ridesharing were quite accessible. I will recommend this, it's so pretty.
• TravellingSkeeter (8/5): 10 Days at the Sunset Marina - Angel, the entertainment coordinator, was phenomenal!!!!! He was so kind and helpful to everyone. He added so much to our time at Sunset Marina. Breakfast at the Pergola each morning was a great way to start the day - good food and very helpful staff. Having lunch at Ilforno every day with Ignacio, Gerardo and Jazmin taking care of us was a delightful way to satisfy our appetites! The Asian restaurant where we ate most nights was amazing! And the staff only made the experience that much more enjoyable. The only negative experience that we had over our 10 day vacay was dealing with the concierges re timeshares. We were given a different story each time we dealt with a different concierge. It was a really negative experience for us and it made us both very distrustful of what we were being told, because of the changing stories we were given. Thank goodness for the other hardworking staff that made up for that part of our experience.
• G2909XIcindya (6/5): March 2026 trip - Been coming here for years and Love this place. Although, things have certainly gone downhill. First of all the staff is amazing, every one of them! Can't say enough good things. Mexico, Dafne, Llubia, Ignacio, Hector(buffet), Angel (entertainment) Those are few, they all did a fantastic job. However, a HUGE disappointment was the water taxi not working. They used to have 3, then it was 2 and then last year there was 1 water taxi left running, and this year ZERO! Come on, this isn't rocket science, outboard motors can easily be replaced if parts aren't available! This is a MARINA, boat and motor repair should never be an issue, especiallty for weeks on end. The water taxi is one of the great things about this resort! The restaurants were good. The staff worked so hard, but the problem wasn't the staff, it was LACK of staff!!!! La Vela and Cilantro were especially understaffed, but the buffet wasn't a whole lot better. Perhaps that's why many of the tables and chairs were removed from Cilantro/snack bar, not enough staff?! The place needs QUALITY repairs, not bandaids or cheap fixes. The pool bar was repaired, but it looks cheap and wasn't repaired back to the original beautiful granite bar. Fix it correctly, or replace it. The pool and pool area need an upgrade as well. Umbrellas were gone entirely, a little shade would have been nice.
• Gail_dobson (4/5): Worse food ever ! - Nothing around the hotel ,only more hotels . The staff I can’t knock they all very hard working . Rooms cleaned most days . But the hot tub on balcony was a joke ! Dirty and marks and holes in . Didn’t see any one in their hot tub . We paid well over what we got . The food was the worse Iv ever experienced. Uncooked cold food . Not much choice and same every other day . The other restaurants on site were a different scale .They were really good .. Get booked in them if your going this hotel !
• scubaracer (4/5): Lack of attention to detail; security issues - We went there two times before and since then the quality and attention to detail has gone down a lot. There were no cushions for our balcony chairs and no drain plug for the sink. I notified the front desk and nobody responded until I called again. The boat shuttle was also not working. We took the bike tour one day but the bikes were in really bad shape (rusted, could not adjust seat). Also, the second day of our trip someone took my wifes purse next to the pool! There was a security camera right above but the front desk said it was not working! I notified the manager via email to lodge my complaints but never got a response, even though I waited almost a week!

• J1954XCmireyam (10/5): Exceptional Service from Luis Fernandez Has Made Our Stay Even More Enjoyable! - We are currently staying at Sunset Marina Hotel and have been having such a lovely experience. The hotel itself has been excellent in every respect, a great atmosphere, beautiful surroundings, and a consistently high standard across everything, which has made our stay really enjoyable. A particular highlight for us has been dining at La Pergola and Silantro, where we’ve had the pleasure of being served several times by Luis Fernandez. He is quite simply wonderful at what he does. There’s a natural warmth and ease about him that immediately puts you at ease, and he delivers such thoughtful, attentive service every time. We’ve found ourselves quietly hoping it will be Luis looking after our table, as we know it will make the experience that little bit more special. He has a lovely, calm manner, pays great attention to detail, and always seems to anticipate exactly what’s needed without ever being overbearing. It’s this kind of genuine, effortless service that really stays with you. Our stay at Sunset Marina Hotel has been fantastic overall, and Luis has certainly been a big part of that. He is a real credit to the team, and we feel very fortunate to have been looked after by him!
• michelesE965YC (10/5): Fantastic Stay - 1 Week Solo Female Traveller - I stayed at the Sunset Marina Resort & Yacht Club for one week by myself and it was a wonderful experience. My room was amazing - had a full kitchen and was large enough to host a party! Very spacious and clean. My balcony overlooked the pool and water. I was stocked with coffee, water and drinks daily. The staff were all amazing - super friendly. I was greeted every time I went for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The shuttle comes every hour so you can explore the sister resorts. I went to Royale a few mornings in a row to walk the beach. Althou you cannot swim in the water at this resort (Marina), the shuttle to the Royale is only 7 mins. I had a massage which was great and I made use of the gym which is very small but honestly has everything you need for a good workout. I would highly recommend this resort. It was absolutely perfect for me - solo female traveller. It was small, quaint and never too busy. I never had to wait for anything.

• dkwagner (10/5): Celebrated my wife’s birthday at the resort. - It’s a small resort, but it still very nice and has a lot to offer. Like most the other resorts it does need some updating, but what you are going to find is a great pool area, wonderful restaurants and all of the great & friendly staff members. It is one of the better resorts that isn’t located on the beach.
• marycH7302FK (10/5): Great vacation! - The staff was very welcoming and eager to help whenever we asked for it. The location is on the marina side, so no access to beach. However, there is a shuttle that operates all day and evening which brings you to the four shared properties. We had a one bedroom suite and we were amazed at how big it was. There were two full bathrooms, one next to the kitchen area and one in the bedroom. The bedroom also had a jacuzzi bath in it. The living area had a pull out sofa bed and a pull out daybed. We would like to give a special thank you to the bartender Mexico. He was always in a great mood and smiling. It was surprising how he knew what we were drinking and would come around the pool area to ask if we needed a top up. It was my boyfriend's birthday during our stay and he made it super special. He is a super guy and fun to be around. We will miss him! If you do happen to go here and see him, please say hi from Mary and Guido.

• C1215WIlarryw (2/5): Extremely overrated. Left 4 days early and went to Wyndham Grand. - Pictures and reality are very different here. This is a older hotel and it shows as soon as you drive up. We are very disappointed in reviews that say how nice it was. That being said, we are well traveled and this was the only place we have ever left early to salvage the vacation. After 3 days, that was enough. Food, some cleanliness issues, Lagoon beach needed upkeep, and a few other issues that made us look elsewhere. If we were young, and never at the hotel, this would have been ok, but it's not close to our own living conditions and quality so we left and spent the next 5 days at Wyndham Grand. Which by the way has a lower rating than this Marina hotel, which speaks volumes to the class of the reviewers here. Night and day difference and so glad we made the change even with paying for both places, change to Wyndham was well worth it! Old, out dated. Shower in one bath didnt work. Had to have a cleaner in on arrival before we settled in. Average at best food and I am being nice here when I say that. See attached photo of their version of a Philly Cheese Steak sandwich, which we refused to eat. Poor upkeep at the Lagoon made it not beautiful or relaxing. This to me is like staying at a hotel 6 when you are younger and it didnt matter much as you were doing other things. I could go on as we had one issue after another. We really enjoyed the rest of the trip when we change to the ocean side at Wyndham. Thank God they had a room. Resort was clean and much more suited for a vacation. Food, rooms, ocean front. No comparison at all! Be careful of the great reviews because it may not be what a middle to older couple would be use too.
• conquistadora92 (8/5): Beautiful and calm location - Stayed at this resort for 6 days to celebrate my wedding anniversary. It is a calm and quiet location perfect for relaxing. When my husband and I wanted to be in places where there were more people and oceanfront beach access, we would take the shuttle bus or water taxi to Sunset Royal. The free shuttle stops at all four resorts: 2 are on the lagoon side (no swimming) and 2 are on the ocean side where you can walk into and enjoy the beach. Our rooms were very clean, our beds were comfortable and even without asking, housekeeping came in every day and threw out trash and made the bed. Our balcony had a jacuzzi. There are a few different places to eat and the food was good, and staff were attentive. We had a wonderful concierge, Veronica who was beyond helpful with booking day tours to different locations. I actually miss talking to Veronica every morning. I would give this resort a perfect score if it had more fun activities. Would not mind visiting again!
• 359mian (10/5): Gorgeous resort and friendly staff - My friend and I came here to stay for the week as a girls trip. The resort is smaller than other ones we have been to in Cancun, but we like how laid back it was. There was always chairs by the pool, space at the pool bar, and openings at the restaurants. Our room was very large with an upstairs and downstairs, full kitchen and bathroom space, and balcony with a hot tub! We enjoyed the morning yoga/stretching, the room service, pools, and drink options. The hibachi/asian restaurant was our favorite! Dafne at the pool bar was AMAZING and made the best drinks always with the biggest smile on her face. We also really liked Angel and doing the stretching classes with him. Their staff was all amazing and very personable. Highly recommend going here for a relaxing trip to Mexico!

It was a lovely atmosphere and we would recommend this resort to anyone going to Cancun.
• melmartie (10/5): Great little all-inclusive vacation spot on the lagoon - LOCATION & AMBIANCE: We had a wonderful 1 week stay at Sunset Marina — a small, well-maintained resort nestled on the lagoon side of the Cancun hotel zone strip by an active marina, this hotel is ideal for travellers who love to boat and bird watch, want to enjoy excellent food and service, and prefer boutique hotels. It is booming with wildlife, including various specifies of birds, lizards, bats and even a small crocodile. While the lagoon is not swimmable, the view on this side is beautiful and provides stunning sunsets. If you prefer to sunbathe by a sandy beach on the daily, I would suggest booking one of the sister hotels, Sunset Royal or Ocean Spa Hotel which are closely located on the beach side of the strip instead of the lagoon. But for those who simply like to enjoy a good view and hangout by the pool (with an awesome swim-up pool bar), Sunset Marina is a great choice, with option to shuttle by bus or water taxi for free to either sister hotels free of charge (all inclusive packages work at the other resorts as well) to enjoy some beach time. Since this hotel is right by the busy hotel zone strip main road, it could be described as urban and noisy. Since we are city folk, we truly didn’t mind this. If you are sensitive to noise disturbances and prefer the serenity of silence, I would consider a different and larger hotel where you are better shielded from the road. In addition, Sunset Marina does not have a gate at the entrance. Anyone from the road can walk into the hotel. Despite this, we felt very safe there and were never worried. The entire hotel zone is extremely tourist-centric and has a lot of security and police presence. ROOMS: The rooms at this resort are clean studio apartments with a kitchenette (including microwave, stove, mini fridge, table and 4 chairs) with either a king bed or two queen beds. We were fortunate to get a ground floor room which walked out to the lagoon. Some rooms may also include a small balcony jacuzzi, though ours didn’t. We had a king bed which had a fairly soft mattress (which my husband liked though I prefer firm). The bathroom had a shower with great water pressure and hot water. The hotel provided the room with shampoo, conditioner, oatmeal based bar soap, mini sewing kit, shower cap and body lotion. It also stocks the mini fridge with sodas, water bottles and beer. The maids that tended to our room always did a great job and provided plenty of towels. The AC was functional, cold and thermostat is adjustable. FOOD: Sunset Marina has 1 buffet (La Pergola) and 4 restaurants, one of which (Azucar) is only free for Sunset members and not included in the all inclusive package. The 3 other restaurants are included, including a day-time resto called Il Forno (American style food like pizza, wings, burger etc), which turns into a Mexican restaurant called Cilantro after 7pm. While Il Forno is decent, Cilantro is much better and we had some fantastic dishes there. The third is an indoor Asian-style restaurant called Vela, which offers fresh sushi (it’s actually really good), other Asian-inspired dishes (though the noodles used are usually spaghetti) and a Hibachi/Teppenyaki experience which is a must-try. Personally, we wish we had dinner at Vela more than twice! We used the buffet for breakfast (which always had eggs/omelet station, yogurt, cereal, fresh fruit, potatoes, hot cakes and french toast, bread but no toaster), but found lunch and dinner options a little plain/boring for our liking and mainly ate at the other restos instead. There is also an extensive menu for room service, which is included in all-inclusive packages and was surprisingly good. SERVICE: This small resort has a smaller team of staff members, which offers a more personalized and intimate experience. We had amazing, round the clock care from staff who are attentive and friendly. The pool bar had talented bartenders (Mexico, Dafne and Damian) who came up with the coolest drinks. Special thanks to the waiter Ignacio who hustled solo most days at lunch hour to serve the busy Il Forno restaurant — he would literally be sprinting between serving food, taking orders and running for drinks. We also enjoyed the service of Lizbeth and Gonzalo at the buffet every morning who knew we liked our cappuccinos and green juice. At Vela, we had a wonderful time with Hibachi chef Fernando, and waiter Luis! ENTERTAINMENT & ACTIVITIES: This hotel did not offer a traditional nightly show like at other resorts. By 8 pm, the resort was very quiet, and quite peaceful. Despite this, we have to give a special shout out to the animation team (Hannia, Ximena and Angel) who were dedicated to entertaining guests throughout the day. They enthusiastically hosted numerous fun activities, including bingo, cocktail lessons and cooking lessons / tastings, and hosted a Carnaval day with dancers and other themed activities. We looked forward to seeing them and participating in their activities every single day! We spent most of our trip in or by the pool. The hotel also had hired musicians / live music on certain nights at dinner time. In addition, this resort has a batting cage, offers kayaks (with gear) to guests, and even has guided bike tours on the hotel strip with animation team staff. While we travelled as a couple with no kids, there were many families staying here as there is an indoor kids zone, and a couple basic outdoor playsets for children. OVERALL: Most guests we met at this hotel were repeat travellers, which is a good indication of the quality and charm of this resort. Like others, we plan on returning to Sunset Marina in the future. DON’T FORGET TO TIP THE STAFF. ;) They accept MXN pesos and USD. They deserve every penny.

The character and charm of the resort resonated throughout our vacation with its unique atmosphere of hacienda styling. From the front desk service, concierge specialist Veronica, delicious cuisine usually presented by our dear server Luis, Angel in entertainment, Mexico and Daphne at bar made our days so special and memorable. They became my friends immediately. We were so happy and relaxed. We will definitely return in a heartbeat.

The balcony literally opens up to the ocean — you wake each morning to a breathtaking sunrise and the peaceful sound of cheerful birds. Watching the yachts and boats glide past throughout the day is truly an unforgettable sight. This was actually my second time staying here, and that alone says a lot. When I returned a year later, I was beyond surprised that Jose, our server in the dining hall, remembered us. Not only did he remember us — he remembered how particular I am about certain dishes and made sure the kitchen adjusted them exactly to my liking. That level of attention meant everything. Anytime we walked into the dining hall and Jose saw us, he would immediately greet us and seat us at one of his tables. He took the time to explain the buffet selections and offer recommendations since we weren’t familiar with many of the dishes. Because of him, we felt comfortable stepping outside of our usual choices and exploring new foods. His customer service was warm, attentive, and genuinely inviting. He is truly an ALL-STAR at this resort. Then, as if our experience couldn’t get any better, I realized after leaving that I had forgotten my phone in our room. I honestly thought it was gone for good. We called the resort, and the front desk receptionist immediately ran up to our room, found it, securely wrapped it, and personally arranged for it to be shipped back to the United States. I have only one fault with this place and that’s the pool, it tended to get a little too cold to handle sometimes so instead we used the beach at the other resort in the sunset family, Thank you to all the staff for this amazing week!

Check-In needs improvement - Poor check‑in experience with very little information provided about what’s included, restaurant locations or opening times etc. This definitely needs improvement. Rooms are spacious, comfortable, and clean, with a minibar stocked with soft drinks and beer. The pool bar offers a cocktail of the day, though this isn’t advertised by staff. We found this out from other guests (similar to most of the other useful hotel info). Restaurants offer plenty of choice. Only breakfast if buffet style. Special mention to waiter Ignacio, who works tirelessly and does a great job. The animation team (Angel and Dafne) are excellent — fun, engaging and encouraging without being pushy. Also, keep an eye out for the crocodiles in the lagoon around 5pm — we spotted them most evenings!
• tinapZ52XE (4/5): WOW! - I have been coming to Mexico for 30+ years. I rarely do a review but here I am. The service is ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE! There are not enough employees to make this resort run! There are two restaurants for supper, (there is a third but cost additional). Wanted supper. Went to the Asian but had to get up and walk out- after 15 minutes —nobody came to take our order. I witnessed 8 plates piling up in the kitchen to serve others getting cold. Bars——swim up pool and one in the lobby that doesn’t open up until 3pm. At 4pm I went up to the man behind the lobby bar, (I was the only one in the lobby and at the bar). After waiting I asked if he was open and the guy looks up and asked me to go to the pool bar! Didn’t even have my suit on. All I asked for was a beer. He me a paper cup, )yes, like the old school Dixie cups!) I tipped him against my best judgement and got a “now piss off” look. The buffet is bigger at your local Drury Hotel in the states. I am not a food snob but come on. For lunch there is an outdoor eatery but again, when you sit down you cross your fingers someone will notice you!!! This place is old and showing its age but overall a pretty place. It’s VERY close to a super busy road! When I say you’ll hear traffic this would be an understatement. The positive that that you can get on the water taxi to get out of there. The sister property, Royal, was nice. Wait staff coming around the pool. But again glaring there was not enough help. One poor bartender to serve outside. I really felt bad.

Rodrigo's empathy & kindness that this disappointing welcome was overcome. Equally, no information given about what was included .. we learnt this from other guests throughout our stay. A review of reception policy is necessary. Other than that, the staff here were amazing. From the moment we arrived J Rodrigo and Jose Luis greeted us with a smile and helping hand and continued this throughout our trip. Flor at the front desk was over the top amazing at accommodating our families wants and needs, we cannot thank her enough. The activity crew was so nice and fun; Dafni is so sweet and we love seeing her with each visit. The bartenders and wait staff are wonderful, and always go above and beyond to accommodate our large group. Hector and Gonzalo were great breakfast waiters. Ada, Mary and Miguel continue to absolutely amazing and we love seeing them each visit- we look forward to dinner because of them. Mexico and Lluvia have become like family to us, they anticipate our needs and always make our vacations so enjoyable. We look forward to seeing them every year! They have done a great job training in Dafne and Geovani, who are also great bartenders. Hector is also wonderful! Our only disappointment this year was with the concierge, they were not helpful like they usually are, especially with scheduling our members dinners or answering questions about activities. The lifeguard was very kind in helping my grandpa who fell at the pool, we were very happy she was there! Overall an amazing trip thanks to the great staff and of course we'll be back! Don't forget to tip these amazing workers!

(We have been here many times) I don't need the hustle bustle of other resorts though we always make a trip to the Sunset Royal at least once. We love walking in the door and having staff recognize us, welcoming us back. This year, we really appreciated Gonzalo, Uuvia, Hector, Mexico, Luis and so many others who made our stay fantastic. I love that they added the little fire show to the deep fried ice cream in Le Vela. It isn't as fancy as the Flaming Mayan Coffee at the Sunset Royal but it is a nice new touch. Can't wait for Dec 2026 when we will be back!
• B3790DNjesss (10/5): Great experience! - This was our third visit to Cancun and our second to Sunset Marina, definitely not our last. We we truly enjoyed our stay and were blown away by the hospitality from the staff. Breakfast buffet in the morning is even better with Don Gonzalo, Hector, Luis, and Yasmin working. Breakfast is great with many options, especially a great omelette bar. Coffee is amazing too. Afternoon snack at Il Fornos is delicious via chef Geraldo and waiter Ignacio. Food is great and comes out quick. We love coming here in the afternoon after returning from the beach. Bartender Geovani was also great on NYE!! There are so many other great employees too whose names I didn’t catch. While the beach at Sunset Royal is amazing, the landscape and outdoors at Marina is unbeatable and very relaxing. Maintenance staff works hard to keep the grounds very clean and orderly. Housekeeping is also exceptional at keeping the room clean daily. My one request is to provide cushions for the pool chairs. We frequented the beach at Sunset Royal almost daily. Beach bar staff including Jorge, Isaias, and Karen worked so hard to make their rounds and deliver food/drinks. Again, my one request is for more comfortable chairs with cushions.

I don’t have enough positive adjectives in my vocabulary to explain the person she is… Sunset Marina resort and yacht club are very lucky to have her. There are three other staff members that went above and beyond any expectations that was a young man who served us at breakfast the bellman that has only been there a year and a bit and the third was the bartender in the evening ALL AMAZING!!!

We were especially impressed by two of the waiters, Hector Aguilar and Luis Fernando. They were always smiling, very quick, and made sure the food was served on time and presented well. You can really see how hard they work ,they move efficiently between both restaurants and step in wherever it’s busiest. Their positive attitude and professionalism really stood out. Well done to them! Unfortunately, our experience with another waiter named Luis was not as pleasant. He seemed quite unfriendly and appeared angry. He removed our chocolate cake plate about 10 minutes before closing, and when we asked for it, he said we couldn’t have it because the place was closed, even though there was still time left. That was disappointing. Despite this, we truly enjoyed our visit. The food was good, the atmosphere was nice, and the excellent service from Hector Aguilar and Luis Fernando made a big difference. We would happily return because of them.

The water taxi was super convenient, it took us to the royal resort where we had access to the food and drinks by the poolside. Housekeeping always did an amazing job cleaning the rooms, all the staff always having smiles on their faces. Gonzalo made our entire trip amazing, always had a great attitude and genuinely went above and beyond for my family and I. He himself made a great impact on the trip with his incredible service, thank you Gonzalo! Overall the drinks were great, the food was pretty good as well. The resort itself is a very chill place to be, very quiet nights, if you’re looking for a chill place to relax, this is the place to be. Though there is no beach (we had access to the BEAUTIFUL white beach at the royal sunset), the pool is very nice. Everything does close pretty early but again it’s a calm and chill resort. The rooms are so nice, we got one with a balcony that had a hot tub and the view from our balcony was the perfect location for a nice city view with the water. We had an amazing time!

Both Hector's, Reuben, Gonzalo, Miguel, luvia, Dafne, both Giovani's, Lizeth, Paulina, José, Luis, Yazmín, Verónica, Enrique, Infact Every Member of staff from the front desk to the bar tenders and restaurant staff and Lifeguards were fantastic and made us feel so at home, also the cleaning staff too, we were sad to leave as we felt at home, the entertainment was good and especially Carlos who played the sax and sang, he made all the audience feel relaxed and included everyone in the show :) Also not forgetting the transport drivers who took us to the Royal etc, they were polite and helpful, we have stayed many places in many countries but this is the friendliest hotel by far, our room was lovely. The food was excellent and plentiful, the hotel was spotlessly clean. We was on our anniversary and the anniversary greetings and champagne was a lovely touch when we opened our room :) Thank you to every member of staff including Jorge and Mariano at the Royal who got our drinks and food every time we visited the beach :) you are all lovely freindly polite people, we will return soon :) It was worth travelling 5000 miles :) . There is a buffet (which becomes a “a la carte” restaurant at night), an outdoor restaurant and an indoor one too. All of them serve their own menu, with the buffet restaurant changing the menu everynight or so, and all of them serve great food. The staff is great and always in a good mood, ready to give you a great service. There are two and a half bars on the resort: the indoor lobby bar which also serves drinks outside in the pool and the bar in the buffet restaurant. They serve a variety of drinks with and without alcohol. Shout out to Angel!!

All of the waitstaff is great, but this week we were taken very well care of by Ada, Mary, and Gonzalo, they are so patient and kind. Dafni and Daniela are so energetic and sweet, always making sure we have something to do! We continue to return to the Marina due to these familiar faces, I truly can't say enough about the staff. What made the experience even more special was how the resort welcomed my son and daughter-in-law, who were celebrating their wedding anniversary. When they walked into their room, they were surprised with a beautiful “Happy Anniversary” sign, a bottle of champagne, and chocolate-covered strawberries—such a thoughtful touch that meant so much to them (and to us!). The staff throughout the resort were friendly, professional, and made us all feel welcomed and cared for. The grounds were beautiful, and the amenities were perfect for both relaxation and family time. From the comfortable rooms to the excellent service, everything exceeded our expectations. We’re so grateful for the warm hospitality and the special attention shown to our family. This resort made our trip truly unforgettable, and we would absolutely return for another stay!

Not only is it due to the easy transportation to sister hotels, beautiful landscaping, comfortable rooms, and perfect pools. It’s really about the staff. I have never had such accommodation top notch service. Everything from being greeted by Rudolfo who was extremely effluent, Jose Luis carrying our luggage to our rooms effortlessly, having breakfast/cappuccinos with Gonzalo smiling every morning, activities by the pool side with the upbeat and beautiful Dafni and Dani, and of course the absolute BEST of the BEST bartenders all day and all night—Mexico & Lluvia. The people that work here are just so connectable and want you to have the best experience. They are one of the biggest parts and reasons we want to come back every year. If you are coming to Cancun, let this be your sign to stay here. ❤️

Rodolfo at the front desk, Jose Luis the bellboy, Mexico and Hector at the lobby bar, Lluvia at the pool bar, Ada and Mary in La Vela, Gonzalo for breakfast in aka Pergola, and Dafni and Daniela for entertainment team… They are all THE BEST! Everybody works so hard and takes such good care of us. We will always return to the Marina. We love it so much!
• ahorta3 (10/5): Best vacation in Cancun with our Sunset Marina Family ❤️ - Everyone there was very friendly. We came back a second time to Sunset Marina after having a very good experience being treated like family. Very good customer, service and friendly bartenders, Mexico and Hector Tavares, and waiters, Jose, Hector, Gonzalo, and Yazmin. Special thanks to Mexico and Gonzalo for always checking on us to see if we need anything very friendly and lovely people.
