- rtempleton54 (8/5): Annual NYC Trip - Wonderful staff. Quiet room very nice. Room was great, rather have a stall shower. Cabs easily called by the wonderful doormen. Food was delicious, should carry more non-alcohol beer and wine. Mocktails usually too sweet and expensive.
- Gayle (10/5): The vacation was the hotel, and it wasn’t a resort! Loved that was near 5th Avenue and the new York public library - Location was very convenient, and the concept with the dewy decimal system, reading room and bookmarks club was just our vibe When we were there scaffolding was all over the windows so had no view; and there was no a/c option at the time, they just had us open the windows
- Guillermo (6/5): - ATENCIÓN DEL PERSONAL CALIDAD-PRECIO
- DeniseCali (10/5): Perfect escape - Really cute themed hotel in a perfect location. Rooms are clean. Nice area on 2nd floor with drinks and snacks all day. Staff was great. Loved being surrounded by books in every corner. Can’t wait for next visit.
- CJunker (10/5): Good hotel Midtown - Comfortable, friendly employees, located, easy walking from Grand Central and the theater District, and not too far from Penn Station. Bus stop to museum mile right outside on Madison. …………,,,………………..
- David (8/5): Comfortable hotel with great location. Can improve. Great staff. - Location. 24/7 lounge with refreshments. Covered in scaffolding. We were never pre-warned. Air conditioning poor. Room lighting insufficient. Street noise meant we could not open windows.
- Sylvaine (10/5): - Tout Service du petit déjeuner TRES long
- Helen (10/5): -
- JSS524 (6/5): Expensive for what it is - Room was very expensive for such an old building. Heat didn’t work well and the water in the shower was initially brown. Hotel amenities were nothing special for the price. There are many better hotels in NYC.
- A7768VHlauraf (10/5): Charming, well-located boutique hotel - We are repeat visitors to the Library Hotel. It's a charming, comfortable, very well located boutique hotel. We especially appreciate the common rooms: the Reading Room on the 2nd floor is open 24/7. There's a selection of snacks, fruit, soft drinks, coffee/tea. There's a roof top bar and comfortable indoor and outdoor lounges. The staff is friendly and gracious, too.
- Laura (9/5): Charming boutique hotel in Murray Hill - We are repeat visitors to the Library Hotel. No complaints!
- preethikakannan (10/5): Comfortable and Convenient Business Stay - I had a very pleasant five-day stay at the hotel during my business trip in March. The room was excellent—clean, well-maintained, and comfortable throughout my stay. I particularly appreciated the breakfast area on the second floor, which offered convenient access to fruits and drinks. Room service was prompt and reliable whenever I ordered food. The hotel’s central location made it especially convenient for my trip. I would also like to thank you for the flexibility with the late check-out, which was greatly appreciated. Overall, a very smooth and enjoyable experience.
- Adrianna (9/5): Really peaceful stay but would like the option for do not disturb. - I like the peaceful atmosphere and the book theme throughout the hotel. The library lounge is a favorite. I don't like that there is not a do not disturb sign for the door. I don't like it when housekeeping comes into my room when I don't want them entering.
- cookmusic12 (10/5): Location, location! - Loved the location! Scaffolding was not pretty to look at out the window, however. Restaurant served delicious food, but the waiter was over-the-top and inauthentic. Lllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll. Llllllllll. Llllllllll.
- notesfromdale (6/5): A mediocre experience - There was very loud construction out the window until late in the night actually early morning hours, so that is something to consider. It’s an old hotel but it is quaint. The shower didn’t drain well at all and they did try to work on it and it was a little bit better. The soap dispenser was completely empty the entire time the $25 a night snack room consists of waters, sodas, some granola bars and some whole fruit, but that is the end of it so if you stay three nights and pay $75 for a couple of cans and a couple of bars that’s a lot. The staff was very nice and very helpful.
- Stephen (9/5): Perfect, enjoyed our time in New York, we picked a great hotel to supplement our trip. - Great location, clean comfy rooms, friendly staff, lovely food. For the price couldn’t have asked for better. Nothing
- Carla (7/5): Easy and pleasant location, quiet and charming library theme - Great location, quiet, and very pleasant staff. I tried three Kuerig coffee makers and all were broken. That made my very early am wake-up tough.
- markjN9424OL (4/5): Problems now abounded at this hotel! - Temp in room was way cold, temp controls did not work! (No extra blanket in room)
Internet was good for ~60 seconds then was choked down in speed till it was worthless!
Told front desk, got zippo response……
Would not go back……………

- elizabethjonas4421 (10/5): Quiet, comfortable hotel in the heart of the city - The hotel was quiet and comfortable and conveniently located. The second floor reading room was a great place to relax and connect with our group and good coffee and snacks were always available. The staff were friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay there again.
- Adam (7/5): Quirky hotel, comfortable great location, quite pricey for what it is - Amazing location comfortable and nice looking room Very small room (think you can get bigger) pricey for what it is. No refreshments in the room.
- Meredith (8/5): -
- Barbara (10/5): We love The Library Hotel - it's convenient for all transportation modes, walking. - Great staff, reading room with complimentary snacks/coffee/fruit open 24 hr. Lovely bar/lounge on 14th floor. no complaints - all good. Will return
- Barbara (9/5): - Great Location

- Scw20 (10/5): Wonderful stay near Bryant Park and Grand Central Terminal!! - Loved The Library Hotel! Location is terrific near Bryant Park and Grand Central Terminal, walkable to Times Square and Broadway shows and great restaurants in the area. The room was lovely and the bed very comfortable. Love the library theme in each room. The staff was terrific, friendly and very helpful with recommendations! And definitely go to the Bookmarks lounge and the 2nd floor snacks room if you have time. Highly recommend!!
- Kassie & Rick Runyan (10/5): Lovely hotel in a central location - We have come here for years and also stayed here when we were engaged so we might be a bit biased. Living in the city, we wouldn't stay in a hotel for just any place. But we LOVE it here. Great staff, great location, comfy, fun to play tourist, highly recommend.
- Jadziadaxes (8/5): Living in the Library - The location is really great! The staff are very welcoming. I loved all the books and the theming! (Gotta check out the stairwell!) Madison and Vine has delicious food and the bar on the 14th floor was beautiful.
My suggestion is the shower curtain doesn't reach all the way to the top of the tub so water splashed out. The bed was a little small, but after all the walking, we slept fine.
- Farfromhomes (10/5): A special and unique hotel in mid-town - This is our second stay at this boutique hotel. The sleeping room was clean, quiet (as much as it can be being in midtown Manhattan) and functional. Not only is this hotel just a block away from Grand Central Station and the New York Public Library, it's also within walking distance of Broadway theatres and many good restaurants.
This hotel stands out to me from others at a similar pricepoint due to their use of the Dewey Decimal Classification system for their sleeping rooms. The books that are available for reading in your sleeping room are based on the floor you are on and the room number it is assigned. Based on the floor and room type. Ninth floor is devoted to History, eight floor is literature, and so on. If you don't like book types in your sleeping room, guests are welcome to browse books in the 2nd floor lounge (where beverages and snacks are available 24/7) and even borrow a book from, if you become engrossed with reading a book you have found.
We enjoyed an evening cocktail in their rooftop lounge on one the nights we were there. The lounge was not crowded, and there were a variety of seating options to choose from.
The only wrinkle during our stay was that breakfast room service on the morning of our departure that we ordered the night before (calling the room service number found in the guest directory) never arrived. We arranged for it to arrive at 8am. We had arranged for a taxi to pick us up at 8:30 so that we could catch our train, but at 8:20, breakfast still had not arrived, despite staff saying it would be delivered "in a minute" when we called about it at 8:10. Upon check out, front desk staff originally thought we may have made separate arrangements for breakfast, but we made it clear that it was arranged through the room service number found in the hotel's guest services directory. To their credit, they took the room service charge off our bill. This experience doesn't really take away from our overall experience at this property. I am looking forward to the next time we stay at this hotel, when we stay in another themed room.
- zi2perhead (10/5): Excellent place for book lovers - Staff was helpful with all our questions. Room was cozy and very comfortable. The Reading Room was well stocked and maintained. It had a calming and inviting feel. We purchased several of the perks such as The Book Lover’s Guide to NYC, the Library Hotel tote bag, the Books by the Foot and we were not disappointed. Enjoyed our stay and hopefully will stay there again.
- amycbinder1976 (8/5): Great hotel; neighborhood boring - We always stay down in SoHo but decided to stay here for the theme. I was nervous that it wasn’t going to be a good experience but I was wrong. The doormen, the front desk staff, and housekeepers were so kind and efficient. The rooms are tiny but adequate considering you don’t stay in the room all that much anyway. I was allergic to the bamboo lemongrass bath products (body wash, shampoo, and conditioner) and had a bad reaction. The front desk immediately went up more packs of the bar soap which was fragrance free and I had no more issues. We had breakfast at the restaurant each morning and dinner there once. The French onion soup is top notch. For breakfast my husband loved the salmon. The wait staff could have been better at coming to refill the coffee but overall they were nice as well. The reading room has sodas, assorted fruits, bottled water, and a coffee machine but not even close to being worth the $25 a day fee. .The Bookmark bar upstairs staff was not as good as the rest of the staff but the vibe and ambience was excellent.
There were hand sanitizer stations throughout the hotel but all of them were empty. That was disappointing. The other concern I have is for security. There is no using your room key to access the elevator and since the restaurant and bar are open to the public anyone could easily access any of the rooms on any floor.
The proximity to Grand Central is great so you can easily get where you need to go. However, there is not really neighborhood vibe like other parts of the city so there are few restaurants, shops, or anything nearby other than fast food.
We enjoyed our stay but because of the lack of things to do around there, we will consider it a one and done experience. It was totally worth it to experience the library hotel once.
- joycemA2326PM (10/5): 30th Wedding Anniversary - We loved staying at The Library Hotel! The staff is warm and welcoming. The rooms are charming with the Dewey Decimal System designations. My room was the Zoology room and all the books in my room were animal books. The Reading Room with snacks, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate, open 24/7, is also a treat. As an author and an animal lover, it was the perfect place for me. I took a photo of my current novel Mrs. Gari Melchers on the bed!
- 304danaf (10/5): Lovely Hotel in NYC - We had a great weekend in New York. This hotel was lovely. The location is great, near the NYPL and Grand Central Station. We were able to easily get to all the attractions we wanted to see. 15 min walk to our Broadway shows.
- TUCKER 4444 (9/5): fun weekend - Location and amenities Towels were like sandpaper
- tanugan74 (10/5): Great! - I work in a library so it was very unique. The service was very good.
The room was great, nice and clean.Only thing I would recommend is a coffee machine in the room, that would help. Roof top was very nice and cozy.
- Marisol (7/5): - Ubivacion Cuartos chicos decía que había luego de las 18hs quesos y vinos. Pero lo sacaron. A las habitaciones les falta que las remodelen. Caro para lo que es
- IHGislazy (2/5): Crappy mattress - Bring. Your. Own. Bed. Or join me on the floor. You should be fine so long as you don’t roll over. Nothing broken - elbow or tail bone
- P4431CQpaulb (10/5): Very nice visit! - Very nice! The service was great the rooftop bar was very nice, everyone was friendly, and very accommodating for everything we needed and asked for.
Also! The locust was perfect for us and met all our expectations!
- Thomas (10/5): - Staff was super friendly and helpful. The hotel has a good quality restaurant on site and a cozy rooftop bar arranged with spaces where you can converse comfortably. These both were handy as we were staying during extreme cold January weather and gave us the option of dining without having to venture out in the cold. Stay was great, no complaints.
- deborahlH4971GF (10/5): Calm in the storm! - The best staff is very trying times!!!
The snowstorm that hit the eastern half of the US paralyzed everything but The Library hotel. We've stayed here several times before, and this time was spectacular: warm and inviting, calm in the storm outside. Good food at Wine and Vine and don't forget the roof top bar where the fireplace is!!! Our thanks to all the staff at The Library. Oh- did we mention that it's a great location for all things Manhattan.
- frankhX5779LE (10/5): Warm Hospitality in a Prime Location - We had a very nice stay and really appreciated the great service from the staff. The hotel offers excellent value for money and is very well maintained. Its central location makes it easy to explore the city, which was a big plus for us. Overall, a very pleasant experience.
- bountifulblesssings (10/5): Our NYC Literary Itinerary - We chose to stay at the Library Hotel for our NYC literary themed trip, and it was a perfect fit. The location is excellent since it is within walking distance to the NYC Public Library, the Morgan Library, the bronze literary sidewalk plaques and the Grand Central Terminal. The hotel staff was very courteous and accommodating. The entire place was very clean. The complimentary snacks and drinks were greatly appreciated. We loved hanging out in both the Reading Room and by the fireplace in the top floor bar.
- Beth (9/5): Comfortable and lovely stay - Great location, friendly and helpful staff, clean and elegant spaces I wish real cream or whole milk would have been supplied in the 2nd floor snack and drink facility. I abhor fake cream packets.
Room cleaning was completed a little late, after 4 pm one day, just as I returned from a day of sightseeing and museums and wanted to put my feet up.
- J3789LCmatthewk (10/5): The Way to Go! - An exceptional experience...started with a welcome letter before our arrival, and continued throughout all our interactions with the staff.
The environment was enjoyable due to the theme, and access to the sitting room on the Second Floor and bar on the Fourteenth.

- Stuart (8/5): - Good location Very small rooms
- Nathan (10/5): A wonderful experience. - Our stay was wonderful. We were upgraded to a king size bedroom, which was wonderful. It was our wedding anniversary. The room had a flower decoration that my wife loved. She wanted to know what the thread count was on the bed sheets because it was so comfortable, but was afraid to ask. Our only complaint was that we when we asked for directions to the Natural History Museum using the subway the directions we were given were wrong. But that wasn't too big of a deal at all.
- Lynne (9/5): - I thought both the library and rooftop lounge were extremely nice. And I liked having a restaurant on site. Good location and friendly staff. My room was freezing and the thermostat not working but a space heater was promptly provided. The room was very small but well done.
- henriettac2026 (10/5): Unique literary-themed hotel with great location - The Library Hotel offers a quiet, refined stay just steps from major landmarks. Rooms are cozy, staff is attentive, and the concept adds a memorable touch.
- Vijaya (10/5): -
- mikemD9091CS (10/5): Centrally located but away from the crowds - Great copy hotel near everything but away from the crowds of Times Square. Bookmarks the rooftop hotel bar also very nice as well!
Within a block of NY Public Library, JP Morgan library, Grand Central Station. Broadway a quick walk and lots of high end shopping on 5th Ave and Madison Ave as well.

- mollyash (6/5): Good location but underwhelmed. - We arrived at the Library Hotel on New Years Eve for a 5 night stay. Firstly our taxi driver couldn’t find the hotel and had to drive around twice before we saw the doorway underneath the scaffolding.
I had booked the hotel after reading all the 5 star reviews on there and honestly it was extremely underwhelming.
There was no doorman to help us in with the luggage.
The foyer was really small.
The 2 lifts are dilapidated.
Rooms small and dark with scaffolding over the windows which made me feel claustrophobic. Extremely dated with very small
TV and shower curtain in the bathroom.
Noisy fan that kept coming on and off all night.
However we did like the rooftop bar which was nice to call for a cocktail at the end of the day. The second floor lounge which you could choose a small snack and beverage was also a nice touch.
The location is good but I am not sure where all the 5 star reviews are coming from
on Tripadvisor as we would not stay here again.
- Laura (9/5): Another great visit! - The location is terrific! It's an easy walk to and from Broadway theaters. It's convenient to sights, restaurants, and transportation. It's also a charming boutique hotel with excellent common rooms and lounges. With cold weather, felt the chill near the windows. They could use weather stripping.
- Michelle (10/5): -
- Lisa (7/5): - Location Tiny room given the price
- NSCharney (10/5): A place to return - We've stayed at many hotels during our regular visits to NYC, and we keep coming back to the Library Hotel. We love the 2nd floor area where we can sit, relax, pick up a book, enjoy coffee or tea, get ready for our day, or end our evening. The staff has always been friendly and accommodating, and it doesn't appear that they experience the same level of turnover as other places. The location is perfect to venture either uptown or downtown.
- mollyash (4/5): Not what I expected. - Extremely underwhelmed after reading and booking this place on the 5 star reviews on Tripadvisor.
We struggled to find the place as the small entrance is covered with scaffolding.
No doorman to help with luggage.
Small reception.
Dilapidated lifts.
Dated small rooms with stains on carpet. Tiny TV.
Scaffolding covering the windows giving a claustrophobic feel.
Noisy fan keeps coming on and off all night.
Definitely not worth the price we paid.
The dusty book theme is not for us.
We would not stay here again.
I’m not sure where these 5 star reviews can be coming from.
- Savinon (10/5): Fantastic hotel for our outing in midtown - Location, second floor lounge and the rooftop bar The parking - your partner rips off your guests. Pick a new partner, negotiate the rates after 12 hours or ditch them and find a new one.
- Mykolas (9/5): Oasis of peace in the center of busy Manhattan - Quiet, not pretentious, friendly and welcoming. Staff left us a nice note - we have stayed here 20 years ago and would stay again. Room with complimentary tea and coffee where you can relax. All was as expected.
- A1892NLjonathanc (10/5): Christmas time in NYC - Friendly staff that welcomed us in and helped answer questions about the location we were staying in. The restaurant and rooftop bar were also both very nice! Would highly recommend. Will plan another trip in the future.
- Jessica (9/5): -
- Gillian (8/5): -
- Nancy (8/5): -
- Rachel (7/5): Comfortable room, great location - Comfortable room, well appointed. The hotel's location is great for any midtown events or museums, tours, etc., plus close to stations and public transport. Appreciated the coffee and drinks in the reading room. There was a doorman on duty when I arrived midday, but no one was at the door later in the evening or following morning. This absence made the hotel feel less safe, as the elevators do not require a room key to operate. Some of the room furnishings showed signs of wear/age, and for the hotel's price should be updated. Only one elevator was working when I arrived, which meant for long waiting times -- I wound up using the stairs multiple times because it was faster.
- Kasia (10/5): Just perfect , we travelled we our two older children ( 21 and 16) who agreed they would come back! - The hotel could not be located in a better place , easy access on foot everywhere. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfasts were amazing ! We will be returning to this hotel . The rooftop bar was a great place to unwind . The scaffolding outside however we learnt this is a must in winter due to the potential snow and its hazards, so fully understandable
- erickad83 (10/5): Great location - The location was great. Very convenient to my office. The room was very clean. Hope they update the elevators though. It was freezing outside but it was very hot inside the room. I had to turn off the heat before I slept. Other than that, I was happy with my stay.
- Stephen (9/5): Fab comfortable and a little gem of a hotel! - Location was excellent for our first time visiting NYC. Hotel not too big Lifts are a little tired but nothing that is to bothersome
- Beth (9/5): Second time here, and would go back again! - Staff was great. Enjoyed the rooftop bar after the theater. Location is really good, easy walk to Rockefeller Center, etc. Many good restaurants within a mile of the hotel. Good hot water and pressure in shower! The rooms are small, but after the initial entry, it is fine for what you need. There could be more shelf space in the bathroom and space is available under the one shelf behind the door.
- michaelhph (10/5): Quiet quaint friendly boutique hotel in the heart of mid-town Manhattan - Friendly staff, clean and quaint rooks, attentive room service, looking forward to returning on the next visit to New York. Great location proximity to shopping and and transport and restaurants. Great romantic bar on top floor and terrace
- Z4215VXlindag (10/5): Front door easy to miss amidst the scaffolding but fabulous once you're in! - I actually walked past it 3x, no doorman like in the photos & all the scaffolding blocking the sign. That said, the staff was awesome, the location was great, perfect spot for a bibliophile! Loved the 24hr library snack room! I will say, though, those front doors are heavy so negotiating those with luggage was difficult with no doorman. Fortunately a passerby offered assistance!
- Declan (6/5): Ok, but wouldn’t return - Location No breakfast service on one day and staff didn’t seem to care
- Mary Ann (10/5): -
- ASSIM (8/5): It was nice hotel - All the staff were so friendly and helpful.
The hotel in excellent location. Everything was very good except that there is no parking in the hotel and the general parking lot is around 10 minutes walking to the hotel, Also the take inconsideration that the size of the normal room is little small
- Paul B (10/5): A pleasant and comfortavle price to stay. Very centra. 5 mins to Times Sq, - All bedrooms are labelled as a library category. Rooms are quite large with a built in TV and safe. There is no mini bar nor coffee/tea making faciltywithin bedrooms, although there is a 24/7 hour reading room serving refreshments and snacks. Madison and Vine is a connected restaurant to the hotel which serves good food but is above average pricey. Breakfasts there are pricey as well. better to walk to Central Grand Station and pay for a much cheaper coffee, juice and croissant there.

- X7215UYrobinp (10/5): Great hotel - This is a great hotel. The library setting was so fun. We appreciated the drinks and snacks in the reading room. The hotel is close to several subway stations. Grand Central Station is close as well.
- bethbM6431JQ (10/5): Midtown Manhattan Magic - We loved the quiet ambiance of the hotel, its perfect midtown location, creative library-themed amenities, lovely room, the interested staff ~ definitely a beautiful part of Manhattan's magic during our pre-Thanksgiving weekend getaway! Not our first stay, certainly not our last!
- ellenf300 (10/5): New York trip - Charming hotel! All of the people working there were very friendly! They were helpful with suggestions on good restaurants! The location was convenient to so many things we wanted to visit! Definitely stay there again!
- kateoB1935UA (10/5): Perfect Hotel for Our Literary-Themed Trip - We had the most delightful time at Library Hotel! I traveled with my sister and niece for a literary-themed trip to visit The Morgan Library, Argosy Bookstore, and of course, the NYPL Stephen A. Schwarzman Building. The hotel location is perfect for these destinations, and we also had a delightful time exploring other parts of Manhattan as well. We loved our rooms and the themed book selections, and enjoyed a LOT of time in the Reading Room, where we visited, read, ate a light snack and had coffee / tea in between adventures. Having this place to land was so helpful when traveling! We ate dinner at Madison & Vine and all three of us greatly enjoyed our meals. We can't wait to return so we can also check out the Bookmarks Lounge! As a librarian and extreme bibliophile, this hotel really made my NYC dreams come true.
- Kendra (9/5): Cozy comfortable stay - The 24 hours reading room is very cozy and the location is so convenient! The shower curtain is a bit short

- theshakeycompass (10/5): Home from Home! Beautiful Hotel. Lovely Staff. We definitely recommend it! - I booked this for the location and the price was good compared to others in the area.
We checked in after arriving from Iceland, so we were tired due to the time difference.
It was a very friendly welcome at reception, he checked us in, made sure we knew everything we needed to know and off we went to our room.
The room was a good size! Warm and cosy, with everything you need. There is no tea/coffee facilities as you go to the 2nd Floor where there is an amazing lounge, with comfy seating areas, a piano, flowers and everything you could need; a variety of teas, coffee, milks, cans of pop, fruit, nuts, fruit bars, etc This is available 24/7 and is serviced continually.
Then, there is the 14th Floor, Bookmarks Lounge and Bar, an outdoor terrace with heaters (which we did use!) and a lovely conservatory lounge which was lit beautifully.
We spent time inside and outside, the service was amazing, the staff were friendly.
A pint of beer is $10 and a bottle of red wine was $64 (I cried a little....)
There was a beautiful restaurant on the ground floor, the Madison & Vine, it looked delightful, but we didn't have time to go in, they did some amazing offers for champagne and oysters for $35 and it was always busy!
We stayed for 4 nights and had an amazing time, we walked miles, we took power naps and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the hotel.
Stephen the doorman was always ready to listen to the days adventures and offer advice with a huge smile. We loved him!
All in all, a great hotel, great location, staff were amazing and we loved it. (And if you have time, there are plenty of books to read!)

- Carrie (7/5): Great location for public transit, friendly staff, decent amenities. - Staff, location, housekeeping were all great. Comfortable bed. Our room got way too hot so I appreciated being able to open the window. Bathroom had useful shelving so it was easy to unpack.
2nd floor snack room was really nice, appreciate being able to get water or a snack anytime we were coming or going. As an earlier reviewer mentioned... For the cost (I know this is largely based on location) it could stand to be updated. Carpets and furniture looked well worn. I love the library theme but it felt sort of like an afterthought.
While I personally didn't feel unsafe at all, the lack of security for the front door (which was not always attended) and immediate access to the elevator (which does not require a keycard to operate) may be problematic for some people.
- Lisa (10/5): The staff and rooms were exceptional as was the second floor reading room stocked 24/7 and Bookmarks - Location and staff were amazing!! Staff was so kind and remembered our names - loved Stephen!! screens on the windows would be nice- it was hot in the room and opened window for air and no screen - but still lovely
- Erik (9/5): Nice - Locatie, bed, staff, snacks No breakfast buffet
- HappyCoupleAndoverMA (6/5): Still nice but was MUCH nicer - We are longtime guests, having stayed there many times over the past years, and we are disappointed that even with steep rises in rates, the amenities continue to shrink. We miss the included breakfasts, happy hours, extensive snacks and cookies available 24 hours, etc. Even the small packages of nuts disappeared from the lounge, leaving only cloying bars that we don't like, and no more hot chocolate packages. We also miss the friendly discounts previously available to frequent guests. Every time now that we visit NYC, we look at other hotels, and we never did before.
- poultongirl (10/5): The perfect library - This was my 3rd visit. As a solo guest I absolutely love this hotel as it’s warm, friendly, safe, quiet and just perfect. The library theming is fantastic and the whole atmosphere is serene and refined.
I hope the management never change my favourite hotel in the world. Especially as I’m about to book my next visit in a few months time. I cannot wait.
- ocean_horizons (10/5): The best of NYC with elegance and warmth - The Library Hotel is unique, with its focus on books, and it represents the best of New York City. I loved the books in every room, each with a separate theme; the cozy bar (with fireplace) on the top floor; the excellent restaurant; the very comfortable, quiet second floor snack room (complete with a piano and a modern coffee machine), and the very helpful and gracious staff. i recommend the Library Hotel highly!
- sarah (9/5): Great and I would stay there again. - The small double room is ideal for one person, probably a bit cramped if there are 2 of you. The location is very central so it is easy to get around NYC, especially by walking and very easy to access Grand Central Station if you want to 'escape'. I found the room very dark, probably not helped by scaffolding on outside of building. Also the room safe was too high for me to access easily,.
- Vanessa (10/5): - The way they greet you is amazing. The place is so relaxing and great idea for enjoying reading is near the public library and other stores.
