This hotel is located right next to the Luxembourg gardens in a perfect location. Would highly recommend this hotel for a lovely stay on the left bank of Paris.
Scott (8/5): About What You'd Expect - Fair price for a clean stay in the heart of Paris. As is expected for a stay in Paris the rooms are extremely small and despite three beds it was difficult for two adults and a teen but doable. The lack of an elevator made hauling six weeks worth of luggage up two flights hard. I was one petite macaron shy of not being able to fit between the wall and the shower glass. The staff were accommodating, the facilities well managed, and the location was excellent. Skip the breakfast.

We loved the location as we were able to walk to many sights including the Luxembourg Garden, the Pantheon and a bit further away but manageable if you enjoy walking, the Eiffel Tower. There is a laundromat next door if needed and delicious bakeries nearby. We loved that it wasn’t super touristy and that we were able to get a view of the locals way of life. We look forward to returning to this lovely boutique hotel next time we visit Paris.

Metro was just a short walk away. My only complaint would be that we didn’t have control of the air conditioning. They told us that they don’t cut it on until June/July. I guess it’s bc France is a eco friendly country. So our room got a little stuffy here and there but we were comfortable for the most part.

The location is perfect - so close to the delights of St Germain, within metres of the metro, ten minutes walk to Port Royal (with direct connection to Gard du Nord and CDG airport) - but on a street which feels quiet and enchanted (a creperie, an artisanal boulangerie, a wine bar, a high end toy shop…). The staff were supremely helpful and polite to a fault. There is free espresso. This must be a best kept secret of the city

This hotel is 2 minutes away from a metro, in a fantastic neighborhood with some famous cafes right around the corner. We stayed on the 2nd floor in room 6. The staff was wonderful, the room was always clean, the beds comfortable and the room was quiet. I would love to stay here again the next time I'm in Paris.
Verified traveler (6/5): Great hotel but really poor customer service - Our was great! The hotel Is super cute and has big rooms. Great Location next to a lot of restaurants and shops. The customer service was super poor. Very rude front desk lady. Not saying hi to us when we get to the lobby and she was on her cell phone not even put her head up to say hi. The hotel says that they have bagagerie service but when we checkout we ask to leave our luggage until we get our train but the lady said that for how long she couldn’t keep those too long because for the others customer coming. She was really rude, very unpleasant and had to find a another hotel who can store our luggage for 2 hours! Very unprofessional and made us feel not welcome!

Jennifer (10/5): Lovely hotel with comfortable beds! - Great little hotel. We stayed here because we needed three beds. The beds were comfortable and the room had big windows that opened onto a courtyard so great ventilation in the room. We visited in the spring so we didn't need the air conditioner but there is one. We had a shower/bath combo which was nice. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Pictures on this site are true to what we got. One block from Metro station and surrounded by little restaurants and pastry/coffee places. About 20 min by metro to any of the attractions. Warning that the part of the hotel we stayed in had no elevator so we had to carry our bags up and down two flights but not a big deal.

Rebecca (8/5): - I spent a lot of time looking for a budget friendly but well rated hotel in Paris. I booked a double twin room for my daughter and I. I’ll start with the pros - the property is located close to the Vavin Metro which makes it very easy to get around. The staff were extremely polite. The room was very clean, small and cosy. The bathroom, although small, worked fine for two petite women. The shower would not have worked for a larger individual. There is also a laundry mat right next door, so I was able to do a load of laundry. Cons - We had a street facing room and the bar across the street made it impossible to get a full nights rest. It is open until 5am and although we had a sound machine on AND earplugs, the screaming, singing, and fighting from across the way was unbearable. For this alone, I would never stay here again. I realize that this is outside of the hotel’s control, but I appreciate other’s reviews when I choose a place to stay and wish I would have known. After an 11 hour flight, not sleeping for 3 nights combined with jet lag, was very frustrating.

Lee J. (10/5): Paris - Lovely little hotel in a great location very close to Gare Montparnasse. Tiny room, small bathroom. But that is Paris a hotel room. You get a very comfortable bed, modern bathroom and great decor. Can’t say enough about the staff. On arrival we said we had to cut our 4 night reservation to only 1 night as we were going to head to the airport to see if we could catch an earlier fight home. Cancelling the remainder of the reservation was not an issue. Would highly recommend this charming small hotel

Not the hotels fault but just to keep in mind if you’re a light sleeper, I didn't hear it but my husband who is a light sleeper did.

Have returned to this hotel a couple of times and would definitely return again but not attempt the 3 person option.

Verified traveler (8/5): - This property is not sitting in the city center which makes it a treasure. It's located in Montparnasse, which allows you to escape the busyness and noise of the main part of the city. It's in a charming neighborhood, and it's small, so you get lots of individualized attention. The staff of this hotel is incredibly helpful. We had a plethora of questions, and they went out of their way to help us. Additionally, our room was clean, although not very big for 3 people, but that's the nature of rooms in Europe. My only criticism was the lack of good air-conditioning. It was very warm in Paris during our stay, and our air conditioner did not cool down our room enough. We eventually opened our windows for better airflow. Overall, though, I would absolutely stay here again.

Florence (10/5): - The hotel is well situated within walking distance to many of the city’s attractions and transportation including the Metro, Montparnasse train station and airport shuttles. The rooms are updated, brightly decorated and well furnished. As with many moderately priced Pais hotels, the rooms are small but very comfortable and the hotel lobby has several rooms with light refreshments available for lounging or meeting friends and guests. The desk staff is very friendly and helpful; we especially appreciated their restaurant recommendations since there’s an overwhelming number of them nearby. This is our second stay at Jardin Le Bréa this year and it will remain our top choice place to stay when in Paris.

Verified traveler (10/5): Style & comfort - We loved the simple chic of this boutique hotel that seemed carefully designed and staffed to provide style, comfort and ease. Our 12-day stay in May 2018 included two weekends during which staff were consistently friendly and helpful, while maintaining a discreet and professional manner. The hotel's interiors are beautifully furnished. Two lounges and a small interior patio on the main floor give guests space to enjoy complimentary coffee/tea or order from a drink/wine list. The free, secured WIFI has a strong connection with a computer/printer available in the main lounge. As expected our room with queen bed and bath was small, which suits our minimalist travel mode. The tailored curtains, bedding and furniture were elegant yet practical. The neighborhood offers easy access to venues/sites/amenities around the city via three metro stations or within walking distance to Luxembourg Garden, Tour Montparnasse and cemetery and many well-known restaurants and cafes. Along the charming rue Brea is a small village of goods and services: restaurants, bars, grocery stores, pharmacy, butcher shop, cafes, a creperie, gelato and ice cream parlor, bakery, theater, cinema, an Irish pub and even a Starbucks. A step further and you're on Montparnasse, Raspail, and other grand avenues. At the same time, our room was quiet and the streets animated but not noisy. We're on our way back as soon as possible.
Kathryn (8/5): - We ended up not staying at this property, since we needed a triple room, and the renovation of the room was not complete by the time we came to stay. However, they had made arrangements for us to stay at a comparable hotel just a block away. They had everything ready for us to make the change to the other hotel, and our check-in there went very smoothly.
Verified traveler (8/5): So happy we stayed here - This is a lovely, small hotel with character. We stayed on the second floor with a street view. Very quiet at night. I loved thr neighbourhood-restaurants, shops, cafes, people watching, close to Metro and within walking distance to most Paris attractions. Reception area offers Espresso coffee and tea free of charge which was nice for the morning. Face cloths in bathroom was nice too.
Michael (10/5): A little gem in a true Parisien neighborhood - We could not have enjoyed our 4-day stay more than in this great little hotel. Friendly and knowledgeable staff (e.g., how to get straight to the Opera Bastille by bus instead cumbersome by metro), easy check- in and check-out, a lovely modernized room which is totally quiet, plus an amazing location - next to 3 subway lines, and situated in the famous Montparnasse district. Surrounded by French bakeries and famous restaurants and bars, we would always come back for our next holidays.
Verified traveler (10/5): Great Montparnasse Hotel - This hotel has an excellent location and a wonderful staff, is close to good restaurants and cafes and within walking distance of many Left Bank attractions. The desk staff, Stephanie and Gaelle, were particularly knowledgeable about restaurants, museums, metro routes, etc.; they made helpful suggestions and readily arranged for restaurant, museum and taxi reservations. The public rooms are well decorated and maintained and have nice touches such as a free Nespresso machine for guests' use and a wealth of Paris travel books to view. The hotel reservations people were very helpful in choosing the perfect room for us that met our mobility limitations. Our charming room was small, as is the case in most reasonably priced Paris hotels, but it was well arranged with ample storage space.
Howard (6/5): There are better options- this wasn't worth the co - We had 2 flights of stairs to content with (think luggage), 1 usable power outlet, tiny bathroom with shower in desperate need of overhaul
walid (2/5): - This is the worst hotel experience I had in my life. I booked a first night with the hotel, then I decided the next day late in the day to rebook. I go back to the hotel, and I get welcomed by the manager kicking me out of the hotel, accusing me of be a thief, and telling me that I stole 20 euros (supposedly when I paid the tax de sejour, I gave a 20 and took it back along with the change). Now, I don't even care whether that is true or not. IT could have very well been a mistake from me or her receptionist. Regardless, may be the fact that I came back the second night could have made her rethink her assessment, or the fact that they had charged my Amex anyways for that amount (point she neglected to tell me), or just any simple notion of customer service etiquette if they had any. I could say that this way a case of obvious racism, but I won't pull that card ... I even decided to forget about it, but now that I am going over by bills, I realize that they didn't even remove their hotel charge, so I still got charge 130$ for the second night even though they didn't let me check in. Talk about thieves! Avoid this hotel at all costs!
Marie-Eve (10/5): - This is a very nice hotel located close by subways and RER-B - very convenient. It's surrounded by a lot of shop and restaurants and it's a very nice neighbourhood. Walking distance from many monuments/attractions (Jardin du Luxembourg, Catacombes, Notre-Dame-de-Paris and many more if you like to visit cities by foot). The beds were very comfortable and the staff was pleasant.
Harmony (10/5): Perfect stay in Paris - Great place to stay in Paris-- close to lots of good places to eat and convenient to many sights-- either by walking or a cheap taxi/uber ride. Room was small but as expected, perfect for a couple of friends on vacation or a couple. Elevator was tiny--but worked fine. We used the stairs except for when we had luggage. Only did breakfast one day and was fine-- for the money you could probably find a better breakfast within a block-- but was very convenient on our last day before heading to the airport. Beds were comfortable and bathroom was surprisingly spacious and updated-- good shower! Air conditioning worked very well! The staff was great-- willing to help us arrange transportation, provide directions and recommendations for dinner etc. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a good lower cost option without sacrificing location or cleanliness and service!

Extremely comfortable bed, modern bathroom with large towels and strong water pressure in shower. Charming breakfast room with well stocked buffet. Service is excellent from front desk to breakfast staff to room clean+up. Computer available with fast connections. Free Nespresso coffee 24 hours a day. Location, location, location.Near the spectacular Jardin du Luxembourg. Near restaurants, cinemas,and shops. What I particularly like is the residential neighborhood that is NOT tourist Paris! Yet, you are a short 20 minute walk to the Louvre, Musee D'Orsay, and charm of the Left Bank architecture, boutique shops, and nightlife. Thank you staff of the Hotel le Brea. Howard

(2/5): A French con - Warning for every visitor you have this hotel will charge you, I was notified that any guests must be taken to your hotel room and no meeting or conversations in the main seating area if they are not registered at the hotel, if you do this and have a meeting in your hotel room they will charge you extortionate fees with the threat of having you arrested if you do not pay, under French law this scam is illegal and enforce by the French police, if you book a hotel in France make sure you book it listing all the names of the people that might visit you in that hotel, including their passport details or you can find yourself with an extortionate hotel bill at the end of the day, the best advice is to find a hotel that does not participate in this fraudulent behaviour.
vickie (10/5): Charming hotel in great location - Clean and charming hotel. Estelle at the front desk is very helpful and sweet. Area is loaded with great little restaurants and shops, feels like a real neighborhood rather than touristy. Easy and pretty 10 minute walk to the beautiful Luxembourg gardens, 3 minute walk from the Vavin metro stop - so, easy access to all parts of the city. 15 minute walk to Montparnasse Tower with great city views from the 56th floor observation deck. Highly recommend this hotel.
Ben (8/5): Great location, clean fresh room and helpful staff - The room was very clean, modern, fresh and well decorated, but was tiny. Room size aside, there was storage in the room, a dressing table and chair and a complementary bottle of water (although the tap water was fine for drinking). The bed was on the hard side, but comfortable, all the same. The bathroom and shower were surprisingly spacious, given the room size. The hotel reception has lots of information leaflets, reception will talk you through restaurant recommendations and provide directions. There’s a free Nespresso machine for guests to use with some very good coffee. We had a great stay at Hotel Jardin Le Brea,

Nicholas (8/5): An OK hotel in Paris. - Not a bad little hotel. Very conveniently situated near public transport, the Luxembourg Gardens, restaurants, bars, shops ... Rooms tiny, but nothing unusual for Parisian hotels of this class. Room, however, was clean and in a good state of repair. The big disadvantage is that part of this hotel is not served by an elevator but by narrow, steep stairs. If you are unlucky, like I was, to be given a room in that part of the hotel and have luggage with you, it is no joke!
