• Carol (8/5): Great location, great staff, comfy rooms. - It’s a beautiful building with lots of character. Very steep steps to access the front door. The use of coded locks, which can be difficult to use.

• Samira (7/5): Useful location, besides more like a cost-cutting hostel - Location is really great; overall style is nice; area seems safe; Nespresso coffee and fresh orange juice was good; small place overall, thus not so many other guests and therefore not too busy; questions were answered decentralised via the chat-function on the Sonder app fairly quick. For our purpose it was good. The little breakfast each day was at least an option to save some £ while London is very expansive overall for people coming from €-countries. Rooms in basement (servants rooms) with no chance to open windows; unbothered staff mostly hanging around on their reception sofa; no room cleaning (not even for long stays) and extra fee of 25£ if wanted; minimalistic breakfast and less offered than shown on their marketing photos (no veggies, no creme cheese, no cornflakes, barely vegan options); quite some noise from outside; cold wind from windows; dirty and very dusty carpet, spam of e-mails here on booking, as all communication runs via the Sonder-App. As we can see the corporation behind is answering to comments a lot. It does not matter to us to explain the concept behind. From an experience point of view it feels like a hostel and has clearly some cost-cutting intentions (while stating its for the environment). At some point the staff even removed the to-go-mugs from the breakfast, as many people took an extra coffee with them. When being asked for them teh staff answered that they were out of stock...which can't be, there were tons the day before. Overall the attitude towards guests felt hostile. For our purpose it was the best price in the neighbourhood so we took certain things into account and handled everything ourselves (would have liked to have access to a vaccuum then, too). But it's not a welcoming hotel for sure so it shouldn't be expected.

• Miriam (10/5): Great location, nice and clean hotel. - Location is just around the corner from the Royal Albert Hall, short walk to many London attraction and night live. Excellent for culture and sightseeing. The hotel rooms are spacious for this area, complimentary breakfast was good and they offered gluten free options. The room had everything we needed, incl. hot shower and good toiletries. All was nicely presented. The pre check in process was too complicated.

• KyleBry (6/5): Basic room - First time stay here. Room was very basic. Single bed. Empty of anything, no chair etc. Because it was tiny, on the top floor. Can’t remember last time I’ve had a single bed in a hotel. Bathroom tiny, so shower was tiny. Decor absolutely basic. Someone said backpacker and that was my sense of it too. Breakfast was pastries, or slices of cheese. No wish to return. Ok I guess if price good and you don’t need any more than a basic bed for the night.

• Adelaide (5/5): I am glad we had a good deal on booking.com - Smelt really clean. Great keypad entry (difficult in the rain though, getting phone out to get the code etc) Plug sockets. The ones next to the bed were american. There were two sockets in the entire room. One by the door. The other was by the kettle. We were woken up by the occupant next door slamming their door at 8am. We also found the lights frustrating. We couldn’t turn the bathroom light on without turning all of the lights on. The pillows were very lumpy. The tv was tiny with no apps like BBC iplayer on it. Basic really. Our room was also downgraded the day before. That really really annoyed me. I was told I could get a full refund so I could book another hotel. In London, within 24 hours?! Apparently the room was down graded just to accommodate our stay. Essentially, overbooked! I was promised a £25 reduction in our rate, which I had to chase up after we left. I also had no warning that we would be charged £50 as a room deposit. There was no mini bar so I didn’t feel that this was appropriate. We weren’t told about it. Obviously that was returned to us. It still irked me.

• Anastasiya (8/5): Great location, great staff - but accommodation starting to be dated & windows not clean. - Having stayed at the property before, I feel that this time the room was not as great - next to the fire exit & staircase - a bit loud, plus light seeping in around the door at nighttime. Windows were so dirty you could hardly see outside; but otherwise an OK room, clean bathroom. The location is brilliant and staff very friendly. Breakfast is a bonus & access to water to refill the bottles. Not very clean, a bit noisy.

• michelletL8300TI (4/5): Not the best stay... - Arrived. Not the warmest welcome. Small room, no power, back down to reception... No chair to sit on, just a bed No milk or sugar in my room, only coffee pods. No tissues. Breakfast was basic and coffee machine is difficult to use. Large spider in my room during my stay. Woke on the final day to no power again, fumbled around in the dark, had to go down to reception in my pjs, embarrassing. Ash & Wes were both very helpful and went out of their way. It's a charming building in a great location, can walk everywhere, but the place feels sterile, bit like a posh backpackers.

• Richard (7/5): A perfect location for our weekend plans. - The property was in a lovely location near Kensington Palace and the Royal Albert Hall. It was clean and the building itself was period. It wasn’t suitable for people with mobility difficulties. Also the building wasn’t built as a hotel and has been adapted at some time during its history, rooms and space are small and power sockets are not necessarily in useful locations.

No tiene mil opciones, pero las suficientes y de excelente calidad. La ventana del cuarto no la pude abrir para ventilar. El colchón se hundía en el medio, no era demasiado cómodo. Eindruck täuscht … - Die Lage vom Hotel war super, in unmittelbarer Nähe gab es sowohl eine Bushaltestelle als auch eine U-Bahn Station Leider war es nicht ersichtlich, dass das Zimmer im Keller ist, den sonst hätte ich es nicht gebucht! Auch die Fotos von den Zimmer stimmen nicht mit dem überein, wie es wirklich ist! Und es war sehr staubig, dieses Zimmer wurde wohl schon länger nicht mehr entstaubt .. Wir waren sehr enttäuscht, denn wir haben aufgrund der schönen Zimmer ein anderes Hotel storniert.. Und auch das „Frühstücksbüffet“ war eher minimalistisch und wer gerne viel Auswahl hat, ist hier fehl am Platz! Und wenn man etwas später, gegen 08:30 Uhr frühstücken geht, bekommt man nur mehr Überreste, den das Buffet wird nicht mehr aufgefüllt! Für einen Kurztrip ok, aber für länger würde ich es nicht empfehlen!

• RR_25 (6/5): Excellent location BUT tiny room - Excellent location. Bed was comfy. Room had a fan. Aashish at front desk was very courteous and helpful. I was able to get a late checkout. Room was too tiny and not like the photos. I barely had space to open my suitcase. I was also expecting a desk in the room which wasn't there. Breakfast options were limited. I would have expected a better and more varied spread considering this hotel is part of the Marriot group. Also, nothing to do with my room but the hotel name change to include "Kensington" in it was very confusing, as there are several hotels in the vicinity with "Kensington Hotel" as part of the name. I thought I had the right address when I got off the tube, only to discover I was at the wrong hotel and had to Uber it.

• Mary (8/5): A decent, centrally located and convenioentally situated place to stay in London. - The breakfast was excellent. Simple, but good. Very well located hotel. Super convenient. Affordable for London. My room was hot. I managed to open the window eventually which helped.
• Ana (2/5): - When I booked the double room, there was no note that it was on a lower level, so we ended up with a room in the basement. The window literally opened onto a wall, and I didn’t feel safe leaving it open. The room also had moisture issues with an unpleasant smell, and it was obvious that this was a recurring problem since there was a humidifier placed inside. In the bathroom, towels didn’t dry within 24 hours even in August, despite the windows being open while we were in the room. Furthermore, the room did not resemble the advertised double room on the internet in terms of size or amenities. For example, the photos show a desk and chair, a newly renovated bathroom, and an armchair – none of which were present in our room. The location is excellent, but it does not justify the overall impression of the accommodation or the price.

• Julie and Gary (7/5): We were happy with the location of tha accommodation. Bathroom supplies were nice. - No breakfast included. Location was good. Lighting was poor. Room was very hot and we had to request a fan. Ceiling fan not efficient. . Blind were not fitted properly allowing light to come into the room. Pillows were lumpy and not fresh smelling. There wasn't any information in the room to explain access to tea, coffee, fresh towels etc.

• Sonia (7/5): - The rooms looked quite nice and I liked that breakfast was included. It was in a good location to getting food, groceries, etc. The bed kept collapsing at the end of it and reception said they'd have someone check it the first day but no-one came. I had to sleep on a bed that had the end collapsed down for my whole stay which wasn't the best. The rooms are nice but very small. The bed also had 2 screws on the side of the base and because the room was tiny, my leg brushed past the screws and got scratched a few times. It was also really hot in there. I was a bit disappointed at the response I received when I told them about it!

Verwacht geen luxe, maar perfect voor een stedentrip. Mooie omgeving met mooie straatjes. Het was perfect voor te slapen en een prima ontbijtje. Standaard.
• Philippe (1/5): Not a great experience - The location. The room we booked was tiny despite being advertised as being 172ft2. The pictures were misleading & the room we got was definitely not for a couple. No space for 2: suitcases. Room 101 was terrible.
• Guest (7/5): Hotel is op een goede locatie gelegen! - De locatie van het hotel is zeer goed. Kort met de metro en bushalte. Er zijn ook diverse winkels en restaurants in de buurt. Onze kamer was op het niveau van de kelder, het was zeer warm op de kamer, het bed was eerder aan de kleine kant. Er was wel een ventilator voorzien in de kamer. Het ontbijt was zeer basic. Tip eventueel een Engels ontbijt voorzien of op zijn minst eitjes en pistolets.

It had a fan, but nowhere to put it. There was only one available electric socket for ketttle,coffeemachime, computer and phone charger. There were other sockets in use with round pins, unavailable in Britain for around 50 years. The TV did not show british channels, only the likes of netflix etc Worst thing was communication. Since booking I got weely emails with additional copies forwarde by booking.com telling me to contact them to have the booking recognised but with link to do this deleted. this raised anxietylevels and when I eventully managed to contact California they told me it was their AI service which they could not cancell in spite of the room being booked through booking . com It seems like a hotel just bought by Sonder but with updating not yet completed

Definitely could use AC but with windows open and fans going it was ok. Breakfast was pretty good also . No AC

• Peter (8/5): Great hotel except in hot weather. - The rooms are clean, the bed very comfortable and the quality of the breakfast is great. Very good location, especially for the Royal Albert Hall and the park. The room was like a sauna, the ceiling fan did not do much. The Sonder website said ask for an extra fan, but there are not enough to go round. I will not stay again in the summer because of this.

Wel heel goede locatie. - - het uiterlijk van het gebouw was top! - de locatie was perfect, dicht bij prachtig park en verschillende metrostations op wandelafstand - we konden onze bagage zowel voor het inchecken als bij het uitchecken laten staan in het hotel - er was 24/7 iemand aan het onthaal, maar deze zei nooit “goodmorning” of “goodbye”. - ons bed was doorlegen. De ene kant hing duidelijk visueel lager dan de andere - wij lagen helemaal beneden(hiervoor hadden we gekozen), maar de ramen konden niet open dus er was geen frisse lucht - ons bad liep enorm traag vol, hierdoor konden we eigenlijk nooit goed gebruik maken hiervan - doorheen ons verblijf werd onze kamer ook nooit gecheckt voor nieuwe handdoeken of het legen van de vuilbak. Na enkele dagen te verblijven, is dit toch zeker nodig - het ontbijt was basic, maar voldoende. Echter stond er op de eerste dag dat je niet meer dan 2 mini-koffiekoeken mocht nemen. Ik vind dat je toch betaald voor een volledig ontbijt. Indien deze zaken opgelost zouden zijn, zou ik dit hotel zeker aanraden. Nu ontbreken deze zaken toch nog.

• Dannielle (8/5): Great location, comfortable hotel - Excellent location, so handy and such proximity to a beautiful park. Basic hotel nothing fancy but clean and comfortable and breakfast was nice.
• Mikayla (6/5): Great location but tiny rooms for price. - Great location and breakfast was good! Beautiful exterior of building, and common area was clean and spacious. Room layout was tiny. No room to put big suitcases or to sit anywhere else than bed. No fridge.
