The rooms are ok but the bar, lounge, restaurant facilities are below standard for a Marriott- the place is lifeless after 5pm. Conveniently located for the train and airport plus a short walk to Laowei street with its bars and restaurants. Breakfast was mediocre.

• 228leic (10/5): Late arrive with room ready - Arrived late. Joyce arranged early key pick up so that when I arrived my room is ready and my dinner delivered. Just super service. Made it like home. Always better than expected. I will come again and again. The smile and speedy service is also sweet.

• Verified traveler (6/5): - Hotel is dated but located in the area I have meetings for days so it’s very convenient. Rooms are clean even the property is dated, lower floors don’t have coffee machines in the room, you have to request. Service is great, I had horrible toothache they helped me bought medication. They said no smoking in the room, but once you open the door, you can smell the smoke.
• US-Traveler2024 (2/5): Very poorly managed hotel - Very poorly managed hotel. I was disappointed as an Ambassador elite + lifetime Gold member. The property would NOT turn on central air conditioning (AC) in mid-April when daytime temp was 70°F to 80°F. I arrived at the property around 8:00 PM local after a long flight from Singapore, dropped off bags, turned on the AC and headed out. Upon return at 11:00 PM, room temps per thermostats were 75.74°F (24.3°C) in the bedroom, 74.84°F (23.8°C) in the entrance/living area. Please do yourself a favor and avoid this hotel at all costs!

• W1716KSalbertc (2/5): Shocking hotel experience - Absolutely shocking experience Originally recommended by an ex colleagues Stayed in the hotel for one night. Rooms feel old, no bathroom. As a silver elite member, was expecting a good experience. However there was a lack of attentiveness by the staff at checkin when arrival. Worst of all was having their breakfast. I have allergies for MSG, and was reassured by staff as after I had an egg I had a reaction. Only after speaking with Fenny, their manager, they admitted the food they get supplied may have msg. I went to feed this back to the front office manager Jason. He told me he needs time to find a solution. I said. I will wait in the room. Just before I leave, I came down to check if any progress or compensation was made. Instead, i was referred to another manager, John yin, who said there’s no msg in the food. When he goes, his manager said there is nothing added but I was told by fenny there is msg in the won ton. John made no effort to apologise or even show any concern of the issue to management. Do not waste any time in this hotel. Hard to believe how it’s 5 star.

• Verified traveler (8/5): Convenient Location Near Hongqiao Airport - This was my first stay at this hotel. It is close to a subway station and Hongqiao airport and railway station. There are no restaurants, shopping, or amenities near the hotel. The room temperature stayed a warm-for-me 24C+ unless I opened the vent windows in the room. The outside noise was not obtrusive when I did so. Meals were excellent. If you like Starbucks, you will appreciate that there is a shop at the hotel. I enjoyed my stay overall

• Daniel-CPT (6/5): Once was. Acceptable but can do better - It is clear the hotel once was glamorous and luxurious. It is now hanging on by a thin thread. Some of the pictures are also misleading making the hotel seem more contemporary than it is. Probably certain angles and some areas not accessible to all? Maybe some rooms have been upgraded / refurbished but not all. You should still get a good night’s rest as the basics are acceptable. This hotel is close to Hongqiao train station which is why we stayed there. For guests wanting to stay in central Shanghai it is not ideally located. Service at reception was poor and improvement is needed. In fact the intern who checked me in was the best of the lot… The rest of the staff do not live up to Marriott standards - quite the contrary. The room was standard. Very much on a budget with large containers mounted to the walls and clearly tightly managed expenses wherever possible with cuts made where possible. It’s giving budget hotel frankly. The non smoking room smelt of old smoke. Not bad but would not stay here again as there are better options in this price range. This hotel does not live up to the Marriott brand and expectations unfortunately. It’s just a bland ok. If hospitality, care and professionalism is not important to you and attention to detail does not matter then sure, you should have a pleasant stay. Perhaps if you strike it lucky with the right room? A gamble I am not willing to take again

• Niels Henrik (4/5): Worst hotel and sky high price - I checked in a Litle earlier and they charge me half day 😡 I stayed 2 weeks and have booked my room for month ago, and they did not have my booked room. I insist to get it, but then I need change rooms in my stay. The furniture looked like it was 30 years old and many things was in a poor condition. From my room I cut see true my door with a gab of 3 cm. Hotel is really old and poor condition. The only thing is very high is the price. I will never stay here again.

• G2738MRbobl (10/5): A business-leisure experience that will bring you back again and again! - Conveniently located to Hongqiao Intl Airport & situated in a quiet residential area of Shanghai, this hotel is an oasis away from the hustle-bustle of downtown Shanghai. Not having been to this business-conference hotel for many years, I was delighted to experience the well maintained-upkept hardware & exceptional service quality I recall this property was always reknown for. The rooms are well designed, comfortable and very functional. The Marriott Cafe offers a sumptuous buffet breakfast & a nice choice of asian & western ala carte items. The General Manager, Tommy Liu, Front Office Mgr, Simon & hotel owner GM, Joan Xu, ensured my 3 night stay was perfect in every way. The M Club executive lounge on lobby level makes any of its' guests visit, an exceptional value experience. The well equipped fitness area offers the full spectrum of workout zones with a nice wet area as well.

Breakfast was decent. waffle and pancakes were bit interesting. The room was spacious and comfortable. We would stay here again near future.

They got a wide variety of equipment in the gym, perfect for some early morning work out. The conference room is also pretty spacious and convenient. Good service, Good breakfast food provided. Will definitely pay this place another visit
• YijunH2 (10/5): Solid business hotel in Hongqiao - This is a typical business hotel. I was greeted by very friendly staff. Room is clean and confortable. I do enjoy having coffee in the atrium. Hotel is minutes away from Metro 10 station with easy access to Xintiandi and East Nanjing Road. There is also a terrace on the 3rd floor and you can breathe some fresh air there. Overall, it is a very solid hotel and I will stay here again.

The manager who is in charge for our meeting is warm and nice. There is no doubt for the professional of the service for this hotel! good choice for the business meeting!

The chef and kitchen staff have designed a delicious finger food according to our budget need. Atmosphere was warming staff were friendly overall a great experience! We would definitely do another event here next time!

The atmosphere in the hotel lobby and dining area is more intimate than usual in large five star hotels. It has an understated elegance that we really appreciated. In addition, we were lucky enough to be here for the Lighting of the Christmas Tree, a ceremony held in the hotel’s lobby. Lovely to hear all the children singing Christmas carols. The selection on offer at the Buffet Breakfast is great, plenty of fish options, which I appreciated. We were also impressed by the hotel’s set Business Lunches. Excellent value. Our stay here was a pleasure (..And it’s only walking distance from Shanghai Zoo, also a wonderful experience!).

Also, very well located for a visit to Shanghai Zoo. The business lunch menu is great value. Try the Yunnan Coffee Experience Cafe next door.

Irene went all her best and did her best to help me to procure the gaotei ticket from Shanghai to Beijing after I had a lot of initial struggle. Thanks for making my stay feels at home!
