Guest Reviews
- Global27320766822 (10/5): Execellent service ☺️ - I had a wonderful stay at Howard Plaza – The Fern, Agra. The housekeeping team did an excellent job throughout my stay. The room was always clean, well-maintained, and perfectly organized. Special thanks to Deepak from the housekeeping team for his polite behavior and excellent service.
The food was delicious with a good variety of options, and the restaurant service was excellent. The swimming pool area was clean, well-maintained, and very relaxing. Overall, it was a comfortable and enjoyable experience. Highly recommended!
- kishorea122 (10/5): Awsome value for money - It was great experience to stay with family. Rooms were neat and clean. Breakfast had good spread and tasty. Location is close to main tourist area and in a clean non crowded area so easy to reach to all main location. In room dining is bit premium but highly recommended for stay
- Seaside10565033110 (10/5): 75 days of stay!!! No one knows them better than me - 2.5 months of stay and an amazing experience. I was on a long business stay and despite being a tourist friendly hotel, it was an amazing place to stay at. The staff is very courteous, especially Mr. Pancham (Manager) and they took care of everything from the start. The rooms are neat and clean and the proximity to the TAJ MAHAL is at waling distance. The only feedback I could give is on to improve their breakfast menu. It is very basic and non-delightful.
- Mahendra402 (10/5): Perfect place to stay for site seeing - If one is going for a site seeing to Agra then this is one of the most suitable properties . Taj and Red Fort are within 10 mins drive. Plenty of eating places around. Property is well maintained, and impressive. The staff at the front desk Ms Shabiya & Tarun go out of their way to help guests , were extremely courteous , professional and represent the hotel in a perfect manner. Rooms were spacious, clean and well kept. The only issue was with late night noise by the guests in other rooms which couldn’t be addressed by the hotel staff despite complaining , that disturbed our sleep. The dining hall service needs to be faster. Overall a very good hotel, will certainly stay whenever one gets chance to visit Agra next.
- Explore44955943944 (2/5): Not worth it! - We booked 2 rooms for 4 people for a night and upon check-in, we were told that the new year's eve gala dinner is mandatory at the hotel at 3,500 rupees per person and payment is required at check-in which we did. When we went for the dinner at 9pm, we had to wait for almost 30 mins after being seated to be served entrees. When asked if drinks are included in the price of a fortune gala dinner paid, we were advised it was not and that we are to pay extra if we needed drinks. Are you telling me that the 14,000 rupees paid was only for starters and food? Or was it to cover your new years eve costs? Isn't this a big rip off? Nonetheless, after starters being served, we waited for almost over an hour for the mains to be served. Mind you no updates from the waiters or any hotel staff on what's next or when the mains will be served, also no notice displayed anywhere on the program plan for the night. Upon asking we were told that it will take some time. The main dish was finally served at 11pm. There are senior citizens in the hotel and there is no consideration for them as they might be hungry. When the food was ready half of the pots were empty and honestly the food was not worth the value of what was paid, which was veg & non-veg biryani, pasta, lamb rogan josh, naan, buttter chicken, raita, gulab jamum, salad and ice-cream. Apparently, this much of money was paid for these foods? Isnt it that a fortune was charged? I believe when people visit Agra as tourists they work hard to earn, save and than spend their money on their trip not everyone is rich its basically hard earned money so is it really fair to say that the cost charged is reasonable? Furthermore, the porters are always waiting for tips. If the services is not at par there is no reason to charge extra or to ask for tips. Every cost has to be realistic. Hotel is quite aged and old, towels provided are dirty.
- mansig305 (10/5): Nice - Our stay at this property was good. Located not very far from Taj Mahal, the rooms of this hotel are decent and the food is good as well. Its actually much better than some reviews suggest it is.
- razzLondon (8/5): Very good !! - Really liked this hotel... smelt fresh as soon as you walk into the lobby, staff are polite and offered a nice welcome drink.
Location was great, 3 minute drive to the Taj Mahal.
Rooms were spacious, clean and tidy.
Rooftop bar was great fun, brilliant atmosphere.
Breakfast and dinner was delicious... all in all im so glad I booked this place, was a relief to have a nice place after the previous,.disgusting hotel.
- saurabha301 (6/5): Need better trained restaurant staff! - This is an older property that appears to have once been known for its grandeur and is now attempting to reposition itself under The Fern Group’s branding. While there are signs of intent, the overall experience remains uneven.
We stayed here as part of a large group. The rooms were functional and came with standard amenities. The television was smaller than expected by current standards, and the bathroom amenities did not meet expectations for a property of this category.
Breakfast was the most disappointing aspect of the stay. While the Indian selection was the clear highlight—offering well-prepared local items such as bedami puri, paratha and dosa—the experience was undermined by poorly managed service. Service further diluted the experience, with staff appearing untrained in basic hospitality etiquette and struggling to manage the crowd.
The continental offerings, including pancakes, muffins and croissants, were also subpar and did little to compensate for the service gaps.
Overall, the stay was acceptable but far from memorable. Unless meaningful improvements are made to breakfast operations, service training and overall upkeep, the property will continue to fall short of the standards implied by its branding.
- TrotGlobe (6/5): Overall an average experience! - This is an old property that once enjoyed a reputation for grandeur but is clearly past its prime. Under The Fern Group’s new branding, there appears to be an attempt to reposition and rediscover its identity.
We stayed here as part of a large group. The room was fairly standard and equipped with basic amenities, though the television felt undersized by today’s standards. Bathroom amenities were below expectations and could use significant improvement.
The breakfast spread was average, nothing particularly memorable. Unfortunately, the biggest letdown was the service. The breakfast area was poorly managed, and the staff lacked basic hospitality etiquette, which noticeably impacted the overall experience.
With better upkeep and a stronger focus on service training, this property could potentially live up to its past reputation.
- vedprakashb2018 (10/5): Had been for a marriage of my niece on 24th and 25th November had a good stay centrally located near Taj Mahal - Very good staff specially mr Umesh and Sonu very courteous and very prompt in attending to our needs would give 5/5 centrally located very near to Taj Mahal
- Barbara (10/5): - Clean and comfy. Staff warm and accommodating. Location very close to Taj Mahal and the Red Fort. Wanted early breakfast and it was given cheerfully. Everything in room was modern and in good repair.

Would recommend to friends family neighbours to stay in this hotel
- JAZZYBEZZY (8/5): Yummy breakfast - Breakfast is very good. Mansi served us very well. I was hoping they had thasai option in their breakfast menu and thankfully there was. It was a relief for me.
- 469travell (4/5): Disappointing stay. Poor customer service, unfriendly staff - This is a very average hotel, and honestly, the photos are quite misleading. If anything, the place looks barely better than its worst in real life. Poor customer service, unfriendly staff, and uninspiring breakfast options only added to the disappointment. Definitely not worth booking based on the pictures alone. I wouldn't stay here again.
- G8814MKleonc (10/5): Great breakfast feast - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Had a wonderful breakfast at Howard Plaza – The Fern, Agra. The food was fresh, delicious, and had a great variety to choose from. A special mention to Mansi, our host, who was absolutely fantastic—warm, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect throughout our meal. Her hospitality really made the experience stand out. Highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Agra!

- Patrick (7/5): Great staff, AMAZING spa massages - but a tired hotel. - The room’s air conditioning was incredibly powerful and refreshingly cold…. perfect after a hot day exploring Agra.
Breakfast was outstanding, with fresh, authentic Indian dishes and attentive staff. The masala chai was absolutely incredible!
The jewel of this hotel was undoubtedly the Aarambh Spa experience. We had four treatments from the amazing therapists - professional, highly skilled, and incredibly caring. The therapy rooms were spotless, and the massages were among the best we’ve ever had. Thank you so much!
The rooftop view of the Taj Mahal was a breathtaking bonus - something truly special!
Great value for money overall.
The shower was consistently hot with excellent water pressure.
And the pillows - truly some of the largest and most comfortable I’ve ever used in any hotel around the world. Incredible! The hotel is large and has lovely potential, but it’s clearly showing signs of wear. The floors were dusty, and the corridors seemed neglected despite the number of staff on duty. On our first day, our feet were dirty just from walking barefoot in the room.
About two weeks before our stay, we began receiving official-looking messages through Booking.com. They claimed to be from the hotel, asking for personal and banking details and threatening cancellation if we didn’t respond within six hours. It was a scam. When we reported this to the manager on arrival, we were shocked that he admitted they were aware of it - and even more surprised by his lack of concern. This issue could easily cause guests to cancel. Hotel management MUST urgently resolve this with Booking.com.
Lastly, the room’s electrical system was frustrating. The light switches were wired in a confusing way, and even after two days, we couldn’t figure them out.
- muazzam (9/5): -
- Olivera (10/5): Very good - Nice room, very clean

Please keep up the fantastic work! We'll definitely be back.
Rating: 5/5 stars"
- Explorer47243792356 (6/5): Pleasant stay overall - Our stay at Howard Plaza was good. We enjoyed the swimming pool and on-site restaurant. Rooms were clean and presentable. Staff was lovely but struggled to converse in English.
Downsides were the upkeep of amenities, notably the bathroom which was quite dingy. If you opened the shower curtain at all, you experience a tidal wave of flooding.
Limited buffet options, with only one non-veg item available. Also, there’s no place to escape mosquitoes. I was bitten many times while trying to have dinner in the restaurant which was irritating.
We were only there for one night so we weren’t bothered by these downsides. Still enjoyed our stay there.
- Dream51858099274 (10/5): Wonderful visit n stay in agra - Excellent hospitality... Food was too good. Mansi .Narendra u umesh were very kind n humble... They looked after the needs like anything

- Gautam (5/5): Passable - Room service is dismal Delay and zombie culture
- David (10/5): - The hotel was comfortable, clean and in a good location. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The bedroom was an excellent size with good shower and comfy bed. The breakfast had a good varied choice.
- Teresa (8/5): Most enjoyable stay. Extremely central and near the Taj Mahal. Highly recommend staying here for your trip to Agra. - The staff were extremely helpful and attentive. The rooftop bar was fabulous and restaurant food was the best. The decor was a bit dated but clean
- Vansh (3/5): One of the worst hospitality experiences—constant harassment, unhygienic food, and unprofessional service. Avoid this ho - ✔️ The Qairo rooftop bar was excellent, with a great ambiance.
✔️ Rooms were clean and well-maintained. ❌ Harassment by staff: Kept asking us repeatedly to submit room keys before checkout, even knocking on our door and calling us during breakfast.
❌ Cockroach in breakfast: Shockingly poor hygiene standards. (See attached photo.)
❌ No basic services: No Coke available—we were told to order it online. No sealed mineral water—only unlabelled bottles provided.
❌ No compensation or accountability: Management apologized but did nothing to fix our experience.
- Teresa (10/5): Perfect place to stay on visit to Agra - Everything was perfect. The staff were so helpful and top service at the fabulous restaurant. The food was the best so far in India this trip. Highly rated and definitely recommend staying here
- Stephen (9/5): The Fern, good value. - Older style hotel with excellent staff. Close to the Taj.Food was OK, but good value. Overall I would say, don't expect the world, but you will get value for your money. No tissues, TV very limited.

- Seth (7/5): Okay - Location was Good Facilities
- Raghavendra (5/5): Lovely Location. Poor higher management and goals. Passing time on the whole. - Location The hotel seems to have pulled out too much money and are now depending of cannibalization to keep going. While they are doing good business, their reinvestment into the property and services like breakfast is too low.
