350visitor123 (4/5): Below average - It's a nice spot on the hill overlooking the ocean. Now I'm struggling to find more positives. The staff are generally not too bad, but make you feel you're bothering them. The bar man told me was 'going the extra mile' when he reluctantly agreed to give me a glass for my beer. Breakfast can take 2 hours if you don't get in early. Reception won't give more water (I had 1 litre in the room for 2 night). You get the idea. Suggest you look elsewhere.
C6955FWjustina (10/5): Superb hotel and restaurant - After a long layover at Antigua airport, I returned to Trade Winds Hotel for breakfast and a few properly relaxing hours — and it was exactly the right decision. As ever, the service was first-rate: warm, professional, and delivered with real personality. The food was equally strong. I’d particularly recommend the Antiguan breakfast — the saltfish was spot on, and the whole plate was generous and well put together. A special thank you to Torhonda and Yvette, who were outstanding — effortlessly attentive and genuinely welcoming. And then there’s the view — quite simply picture perfect. I’ll certainly be back, and it’s an easy recommendation for anyone passing through. Or even better want a lovely vacation.
MBarb10 (8/5): Nice Stopover - Here for one night as a stopover. The front desk reception woman very friendly with a wonderful smile. The room and bathroom appeared recently renovated. Deck with a view amazing. Bartender Kenroy is a rock star. Be sure to have his signature rum punch. The food variety and quality very good. Room for improvement would be restaurant service. A bit inattentive and slow, except for the guy bussing tables. He was very busy and provided great customer service, jumping in to help wherever needed.

LinzinDC (6/5): I am so confused. - The positive: Huge room, comfy bed, nice bar, and restaurant and pretty good food. The negative: There was an overpowering smell outside of my room that I could only describe as cat urine? It permeated everything… the whole area of the guest rooms smelled so strongly it was absolutely overwhelming. I don’t know how nobody else has commented on this in the reviews, but there were a lot of cats there. Other than that people seem to like it. 🙏🏼

kevinaO3901ST (10/5): A loverly Christmas stay at the Tradewinds Hotel - Lovely Christmas and New Year at the Tradewinds Hotel, Antigua Sometimes it’s nicer to find hotels that aren’t part of massive companies. A sweeter stay — welcoming and warm (thank you, Lissette, Mellisa, and the other really lovely girls on the front desk). Lovely, large rooms, and full credit to the cleaners who work hard to keep everything spotless. Is there room for improvement? Always. But right now, I just want to congratulate the Tradewinds for making our stays as glamorous as advertised, and for giving us truly memorable, scenic experiences. The Tradewinds is one of those places, with its internal Bay House Restaurant serving up delightful meals and drinks. Many thanks to the very friendly bar staff, working hard to serve those romantic cocktails we usually only dream about while at work. And it’s not just the cocktails — it’s the romantic setting, looking out over Dickenson Bay, where you can pause, stand, and take it all in while you sup. You don’t get this without the hard work that goes into planning and organising these meals. Thanks to matradee (think was Kevin), and the handsome French chef, and all the girls for serving us so well. Props also to one of their recommended drivers ( B Local 268, Brandon ) for getting us into the areas booked for excursions. To close:  These resorts can be seasonal in how they earn. When you hear about massive storms like Melissa, and the damage they cause to lives and businesses, you begin to appreciate the effort these countries go through to make our hard-earned holidays as delightful as the brochures we see online and in magazines. Antigua doesn’t always get hit as hard, but it is not immune to storms. So when everything is pulled together to make this happen for us, I simply want to show my appreciation. Jamaica next. I have worked in the industry for a long time and felt right at home with him behind the bar. He was extremely attentive to bar guests while getting the piles of service tickets, yet nothing shook his personality and attention to detail.

The property offers stunning views and the environment feels calming, warm, and intentional. Whoever decided to situate this hotel facing the sea view did a big favor for anyone who experiences a stay here. Our room was impeccably cleaned and refreshed every single day (no asking), and the amenities were consistently maintained. Every staff interaction reflected genuine hospitality - polite, attentive, and eager to accommodate - no matter which department we encountered. I'd like to especially recognize Ms. Marsha from the restaurant team, whose services shaped much of our positive dining experience. With her attentive and thoughtful care, we chose to enjoy breakfast and dinner at the hotel daily, except when exploring the island. All the staff at the restaurant deserve high praise. Tradewinds delivers comfort, service, and atmosphere that an experienced traveler looks for. I highly recommended it for anyone seeking an elevated yet welcoming stay in Antigua.
GlobeTrotting781404 (2/5): Poor, poor, poor - Had a 2 day conference there this week. Terrible lunch with only one server. This resulted in the conference attendees waiting in line for 15 mins. They brought out the lunch with no serving utensils. Unappealing or appetizing food with no vegetables or salad. An absolutely shabby affair.

This hotel is also close to the beach and most places. The food from the Bayhouse Restaurant was amazing and the staff was friendly, specifically Marsha, Errol and Kenroy (aka 12). They made the experience worthwhile. Would definitely recommend anyone to stay at this location.

I was able to walk in the mornings on the road by the hotel. There isn’t much traffic so it was safe and convenient. That aside, the staff were amazing and hospitable.
Victoria (10/5): - I had a fantastic time here! I cannot talk highly enough about the staff at Trade Winds. In particular, Kerisa B and Malissa made my stay here an incredibly enjoyable experience. They were knowledgeable about activities and local amenities, took the stress out of booking excursions by doing it for me, exceptionally helpful with any questions I had during my stay here, and were genuinely interested to know what I was getting up to each day. As a solo traveller, I was made to feel safe and relaxed my entire time there. Thank you, ladies!

730caribbeanv (6/5): Fine hotel. So what missed? - So this is a decent hotel - no problem here. And the towering view from hundreds of meters up all the way to the beach (yes, not a beach property, but not a problem) is just amazing. Service: outstanding and professional So what is the problem then? Why not 5 stars? It is puzzling indeed because it is a soft factor, not a factual one. The challenge is atmosphere. We also were guest at another property this stay, for half the price and the same type of room - in this case beach side (still not the key difference) and more of a match. The square with a nice fountain, it feels devoid of "vibe". Add plants. Add a slightly more welcoming person at the gate (first impression). As lovely as the restaurant people were - it just needs feng shui design - or something.
Dream41145790261 (10/5): Special thanks to Kerisa - I visited Tradewinds with my family last month. The views are like nothing I’ve ever seen before, absolutely breathtaking. Food was delicious, rooms spacious and pool area clean and well maintained. Would like to give Kerisa at reception a special mention. She is so kind and accommodating and definitely made our holiday extra special.
Kev0460 (6/5): Nice views - Location - at the top of a hill overlooking Dickinson Bay. Great views from the hotel restaurant- flip side is if you are walking it’s a fair walk back up the hill as it’s quite steep. Not recommended for wheelchair users or people who struggle with mobility issues. Room was lovely and cleaned to a good standard daily. Service at the bar was good. Service in the restaurant was slow or Caribbean time. Swimming pool is more of a splash pool and not suitable for any ‘real swimming. Gym - one treadmill, two bikes one elliptical strider. Three station multi gym chest/shoulder press was one station. Pulldown and row station two and station three was legs quads and hamstrings Dumbbell rack up to 50lb

His energy, professionalism, and effortless charm elevate the entire bar experience. I ordered the Passion Fruit Crush, and let me tell you it was phenomenal every night (5 nights). Perfectly balanced, refreshingly tropical, and just the right hint of sweetness with a smooth kick. Kenroy nailed the flavor and presentation. This isn't just a drink, it's a whole vibe. Cheers to great service and unforgettable sips!

438AndrewF (10/5): Trade Winds Hotel - It was in a nice location on a hill overlooking Dickenson Bay, which offered great views. The rooms were spacious, clean, and well-maintained. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. I didn't find the hotel particularly noisy during my stay. The restaurant offered some tasty meals, and I particularly liked the Antiguan breakfast option, which allowed me to sample some local cuisine. It would have been nice to have had one or two local (Antiguan) dinner options on the menu. There is a small pool area near the restaurant. I recommend this hotel if you are staying in the area.

Pauline (10/5): Perfect. - Everything about the Trade Winds was perfect - a normal hair dryer (not one of those in the bathroom that are impossible to use), a kettle, two large bottles of water every day etc. The staff were very helpful and kind. The gardens were beautiful. I cannot praise this hotel enough - it was a little gem. Absolutely nothing!

phil (8/5): - Although we arrived at 7pm our room was not available due to no a/c. We were then being moved to one room but this was then changed. Frustrating after 16 hours of travel. The views are great and the food also is excellent and the staff are very friendly. The room we had was a superior ocean view. It had recently been refurbished but lacked storage for clothing. One small open wardrobe with one drawer was all that was available. Travelling on business with suits and shirts etc and my wife’s dresses this was inadequate. The internet was also poor for working. As a holiday destination I guess this would not matter. Long walk to the beach and all uphill back so would benefit from a shuttle service which we were told is being considered.

S4678DBgiuseppes (6/5): Be aware - The hotel is well located close to Dickinson Bay with a great view with confortable rooms. But, they had loud parties at least three times during my stay. We were a party of three, and they brought only two set of towels I was needed to ask for it three times for them to regularly bring three sets. Bugs bite a lot on swimming pool area and they don’t have any electric buzzers only four small citronella fire torches, I got plenty of bug bites, the street to arrive is plenty of potholes, the restaurant manager asks too many personal questions. Walkways are very narrow only one person fits. Pool is up to 6 pm. The restaurant portions are small, I asked for an angus steak and they brought a patty size. TV was out two times I was needed to call the cable guy twice.

They made his day very special. We really appreciated what the staff did to make this day a reality. The rooms and grounds were well kept. We enjoyed our stay to the fullest! The only disappointment we had was with the local Antiguan breakfast. It was not to our expectation. I highly recommend Tradewinds when staying in Antigua.

196selinan (2/5): 2 hour wait for food - We went to Bayside Restaurant at Tradewinds hotel. We were a group of 8 and it is safe to say we will never return to this restaurant. We understand that larger groups may have longer waits for food but definitely not like this one. We arrived at 12 pm for pre booked reservation and waited 2 hours for food. At 1:53 pm we still had NOT received our food…… during the 2 hour wait not once did the server come to ask if we needed refills or to simply give updates on our orders. We had to constantly ask them what is our ETA… the place was extremely hot as well and we this is beyond their control but it definitely added to the misery of this lunch experience. When the food finally came out, it was cold and not worth the 2 hour wait. The supervisor came out and extended apologies which was awesome but then explained the reason why there was a delay in our service is because there is this guy that orders to-go meals every Sunday and his order was before ours and wanted to ensure all went well with his. Um??? Respectfully, that is not the customers business and it is definitely UNACCEPTABLE to know that someone’s to-go order was prioritized ABOVE a group of friends that came for the EXPERIENCE of the restaurant. Horrible horrible horrible…… they did try to make it right by extending a 20% discount against a nearly $800 bill and it was appreciated. It is what it is but this is not recommended for group dining!!! 0/10.

Arianna was my server at breakfast and she is an absolute credit to this hotel. She always has a warm and happy smile to greet you and she always goes above and beyond to help with any special requests you might have. Arianna really is exceptional and this hotel are very lucky to have her. She goes out of her way to make sure everyone is served with a smile and gets what they ordered, she is an absolute delight to have around. I hope this hotel know how lucky they are to have such a hard working and happy employee with exceptional customer service.

Candace (5/5): Passable - The property was under construction. The suite i booked was very different from the suite i was given- the suite given was dated - shower made no sense as it was high and my head almost touched the ceiling. The food is overpriced and underwhelming. Staff was pleasant but management needs to do much better. Also there was constantly work being done and the timing and location of that work really interrupted guest enjoyment of the property- for instance pool and yard maixtenance was conducted during breakfast interrupting the passage of guests to the restaurant- the timing of the work was so inconvenient. The place is clean enough and the views beautiful but definitely not worth the price tag and in need of major upgrades which it seems they have started Food / rooms / prices
