Guest Reviews
- Susana (8/5): - Staff was super nice and they helped us accommodating my family of 4 in a proper room.
- Elizabeth (4/5): Hotel Renoir Paris - No one on reception when booking in,one morning trying to leave the key going out. and when trying to check out. The room was tired. The door key did not work on 2 occasions, The lift did not work on floor 5 on 2 occasions. There was no bar which was stated on the information. Hotel security was poor for the times the reception desk was unmanned. It was not a 3 star hotel.
The rooms were serviced daily.
- Carlae (10/5): - I definitely will be back
- Leonard (10/5): - Hotel in Great area with easy access to metro. Although only 3 star rooms were clean and sufficient as we were out most of the day. Staff were all friendly and helpful.
- Aidan James (10/5): - Good area nice rooms
- Pam (10/5): Paris stay - We were able to store luggage before checking in and after checking out. There is a lift so no worries if on the 4th floor. There is staff at the desk 24/7 and will schedule airport transportation if asked. Self laundry is right around the corner and there are many small cafes to sit and eat. My only suggestion is to have room refrigerators in working order.
- Nigel (6/5): Average hotel close to Montparnasse train station - I started to sneeze as soon as I walked in the room, then my wife wiped the head of the bed and showed me the tissue which was completely black, and she had to wipe it down several times before it was reasonably clean.
The bed was ok.
The night time porter was good, helpful and polite.
One good thing was that it was very close to Montparnasse train station, which was very convenient to catch our early train, one less worry to have.
But overall it was not a 3 star hotel, just a 2 star, in my opinion.
- Jennifer (6/5): - OK hotel, near fantastic creperies.
When we arrived, we learned that there are 2 hotel Renoir properties on the same street (owned by the same company) and they had changed which one we would be staying in. This was confusing at first, but we finally found the correct one. When we got to our room we realized that none of the outlets in our room worked to charge our phones (management had to come to flip the breaker) and then the air conditioner in our room was dripping so much that we had to put a trash can underneath it (there was a lot of water in the can by the morning.) This did not seem like a new problem since someone had put a towel on the floor before we arrived to catch the drips, and the baseboard had water damage. Management was nice but they had no other rooms for us to change to the first night. The water dripping was loud all night. The next day they changed our room back to the other hotel property they own on that street. The rest of our stay was fine, and the second room was small, but it was ok. One thing I found slightly dangerous was that the lights didn't automatically turn on in the hallways by the elevators or by the narrow stairs. So every time we left our room we were fumbling in pitch black darkness, trying to find the timed light switch so that we could see to go down the stairs. This could be very dangerous.
Overall, I wasn't impressed with this hotel.
On the positive side, the creperies on this street are fantastic!
- Andrew (10/5): - It was great!
- Amelia (8/5): - The hotel was very comfortable, helpful service and very convenient to other areas around. Breakfast was limited but was good for what they offered.
- Minh (8/5): - The director and staff are very friendly.
- Kim (2/5): - The property is not located in a good part of town. There were between 10 and 20 young men 'hanging out' near the hotel every evening. The hotel explained that they were waiting for UBER EATS orders, but regardless we did not feel safe. The bathroom had mold; the air conditioning did not work.
- Luis (8/5): - Great location, near metro which was fairly easy to use. Restaurants everywhere you walk. The hotel itself is older, but comfortable enough. Ac was not the best but managed with open windows that gave a great breeze.
- Angela (8/5): Perfectly pleasant hotel. - Perfectly good hotel with air conditioning. Great location for metro and buses. Fabulous seafood restaurants nearby and within walking distance to the lovely Luxembourg gardens.
- prsyts (10/5): Great hotel for a great price. Lots to do in the neighborhood and close to a metro station. Great streets with bars! - Perfect hotel to explore Paris. Clean, friendly staff and it seems renovated. It comes with an elevator to reach all floors. Housekeeping is great. Lots of shops, bars and restaurants in the street. Café Odessa is a place to go. Have breakfast at La Liberté, best breakfast in town.
- Priti (4/5): - Below average hotel.
- Andrew (8/5): Good stay - Good location to shopping and metro
- Mallareddy (4/5): - Hotel description is not clear on Expedia. Our room was in the back on 3rd floor with a narrow staircase. It's impossible to carry a 40Pound suitcase to the 3rd floor. There is no elevator.
This hotel has 3 different properties with similar names and descriptions, it is impossible to clearly figure out by the description.
Expedia should not post these kind of hotel rooms.
I am disappointed.
- Martin (10/5): Great Choice to stay - Great place to stay, great atmosphere, close to all main sites, easy walk to bus ride, staff was great and very helpful
- Jan (2/5): - Warning!!! They are a bait and switch hotel and tried to put us in a room in their sister hotel down the street that did not have air conditioning. Run down out of date place. Do not recommend. Area was ok
- Delores (8/5): - Nice room
- Shay (8/5): - The hotel was nice, the room was comfortable and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The only downside for me was it was advertised with having soundproof rooms however this wasn’t the case for my room, it was very loud
- Maria (4/5): - small, confined rooms and barely anything worked and was across the street from an all-night bar that was very loud and obnoxious.
- Elizabeth-Anne (10/5): - Loved this hotel. Great location. Comfortable bed. Very friendly staff. Hotel not the most modern but totally perfect for a few nights in Paris. Would recommend.
- nNaHoR (6/5): - The property is located in the heart of Paris, with easy access to restaurants, cafes, shopping and the metro. We were a family of 3 staying in one room and the room is small for 3 people, but should be ok for 2. The beds are of single type and they do not have a double mattress. Breakfast is very limited and not all items mentioned on the breakfast menu are available. overall 3 out of 5.
- Pauline (6/5): - The staff was great and very pleasant.
Apparently they did not have a reservation for us which was concerning but property was able to find us another room.
- Roberto Enrique (8/5): - Good location, reception staff very friendly and polite.
- Mira (10/5): - I will return this hotel.
- Mirela (8/5): - Very hood location and clean
- Sara (6/5): - good area outside but room was tiny and AC barely worked
- Rachel (8/5): - Pleasantly surprised after reading the mixed reviews. Great location, staff friendly and rooms well equipped and comfortable if a bit on the small side. It was quiet at night time. The rooms are not soundproof as suggested on the website, we could hear other people going up and down the stairs, people in the room above and next door and some low level noise, but nothing that was too distracting or annoying. The bathroom appeared recently refurbished and there was room service daily with fresh towels. The only thing that would have been great was a kettle in the room to make hot drinks, otherwise I couldn’t fault it.
Pessima esperienza.
- Epifania (8/5): - GREAT LOCATION.GOOD VALUE FOR YOUR MONEY.
- Giraldi (8/5): - Good option in Paris.
- Andrea (8/5): - Excelente ubicación.
- Alberto (4/5): - The staff was nice and friendly. The location is perfect and I guess the price is perfect because of the Location. A lot of restaurants and shops, Tower is a few blocks away and we walked 20min to Notredame and all the tourist areas.
The pictures are deceiving. They are the real rooms but in the pictures they look better than they actually are.
The floors are dirty and old, carpets dirty, walls dirty. The toilet button to flush was broken.
The extra bed was in the way of the bathroom door so you cannot go to the bathroom if someone is sleeping.
NO SOAP to wash your hands. No body soap or shampoo. The WiFi didn’t work, the Tv doesn’t connect to the WiFi.
We did not try the breakfast.
- Stephen (8/5): Good Value & Local Facilities - Local to where I needed, lots of local choices of restaurants & bars & close to Metro.
- Jennifer (8/5): - This place is a decent place to stay. However we did not know until the very last morning (our 11th morning) that there was a continental breakfast that we could have been taking part in. No-one ever told us and there were not signs anywhere. We spent a small fortune on breakfast because we didn't know and no-one told us. I always try and book places that have breakfast so that the first thing that you have to every day isn't looking for food when you leave the room. Some of the from desk staff don't know much about the area when you ask them about stuff. One of the first few nights we asked if there was a place close by to see the Eiffel tower from a distance and they had no idea. Come to find out if you walk out the front door of the place and go down to the corner which is less then 40 feet. You can stand at the corner and see the top 1/3 of it at night all lit up. Some of the front desk staff was very pleasant and helpful about what Metro to take and where to get off or where to change (David, there were others but I don't remember all the names). They are very close to the Metro terminals and to all of the eating places that you would ever want. Housekeeping was great. Also they did not tell us and I only knew because my son goes to Europe often that you have to put your room key in the white box on the wall in order to turn the electric on in the room.
- Sandra (4/5): - The mattress was terrible it was so old that they put extra sheets to give some cushion I was not able to sleep during my stay. The staff was nice and helpful
- Philip (8/5): - Great location for restaurants and bars, but if you are a light sleeper, the 4am discussions from the bar across the road may not be to your liking.
- Richard (10/5): Unusual but great hotel find - It was a nice hotel and the staff is incredible. It’s interesting that there is the Hotel Renoir and half a block down Hotel Renoir Uniq. We went to the wrong one but seems they are the same staff. The hotel is unusual in its arrangement of rooms. Beings it’s multiple buildings combined. I would stay again, great location.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The rooms do not look like the pictures.
- Jalaj (2/5): - It was not very clean room and curtains had stain, toilet was stinking. bad smell in room too.
- CHRISTINE (8/5): - Very pleased altogether with the cleanliness of the room and shower room - which was new -staff friendly and very accommodating . Lots of restaurants and bars within easy walking distance, good taxi service.
- Caua (10/5): - Really nice staff
- Carla (10/5): - Close to the metro, so many eateries quaint city within the city vibes
- Nelda Marie (2/5): - It was so small, not cleaned, noisy . You can hear everything from 1st floor
- Verified traveler (2/5): Terrible stay - Terrible stay, old fashioned hotel with old smelling and molded over toilet. Never book this hotel again
- Oueini (6/5): - More cleanliness is required.
- ANDREA (10/5): Fantastic staff. - Lovely hotel with fantastic and super helpful staff, in a very convenient place and clean rooms. We stayed for 12 days and were very happy with the services. Some of the staff give you some good advice and ideas on things to do and see. They have some coupons for local areas to get a few good deals.
- Monica Alexandrina (10/5): - Although the property clearly needs improvement, staff are very nice, kind, and helpful. The hotel is located in a very nice area, close to the Metro, shopping center, and restaurants. Breakfast is very limited, I’d say not worth the money.
- Gregory (10/5): - Rooms are small, location and value are 11/10. Our 4th time staying and happy with each.
- Mary Diaby-Gem (2/5): - The room is very dirty and dusty. the washroom were dirty and there is a smell coming out from the toilet sink.
- ivan (4/5): - Some items were stolen from my room and not recovered. It was a disappointment .
- Filipe (4/5): - Pros:
- location.
- lots of restaurants and french bistros nearby.
- the room I got was very quiet, no noise from the streets.
- No bed bugs.
Cons:
- Although staff answer your questions, most of the time they give you generic answers sounding as something you should know already.
- cleanliness and overal maintenance very poor. Minibar with mold, showerhead not staying in place, sofa bed that only serve as bed.
- Bathroom with a weird configuration.
- Staff gives you different answers for the same question. Like if I should take the key card with me or not.
- Definitely not a 3 Star. I stayed in better hostels.
- For the price charged it should be better.
- Liliana (10/5): - The photograph it shows is of a hotel and when you arrive at the hotel they send you to another property because it is !!!
- Ajaz (2/5): - Stair case is a hazard to get to the room, Worst Front Desk Service, No Air Condition in rooms. Highly not recommended. Stay away.
- Sri Raghuraja (2/5): - - Wifi was not working, no action has taken for 3 days
- We had to carry 50 pounds suitcases more than 50 steep steps without Elevator
- No English TV Channels and we couldn't even watch all the Euro 2024 games
- Esteban (4/5): - It was not the Hotel and place as shown in the pictures! Actually, they move me to another place, another hotel with another name, from the same chain of hotels. The place and the rooms were NOT as in the pictures on the website -.-
- RIKI (8/5): - Very quiet and have great hospitality
- Kent (8/5): Convenient and accessible - The location to get around the city is very convenient and ideal as atleast 3 metro stations are 4-10 minutes away from the hotel.
Lots of restaurants surrounding the hotel which is great for families.
Only complaint i can think of are the two beds that were put together side by side that made it uncomfortable to sleep in to as the split up when you move in the middle. Also, the yelling people outside that you’ll hear around 3-4am.
But, overall our stay with the hotel was satisfying 👍
- Link (8/5): - Everything went great. It's a smaller hotel, hence the 4-star rating; not much else available than your room. The room was clean though, staff was friendly, and the neighborhood is incredible. Amazing experience there for me. (May 2024)
- John (8/5): - Front desk staff were not always available. They did have a closet to store backpacks before and after our stay. Room was comfortable.
- Gina (10/5): - Loved my stay at this property, such a cute and safe area! Staff were so welcoming and willing to help with everything!!
- Steven (2/5): Terrible room rude staff - Terrible ! Arrived to be told the booking had been cancelled because despite choosing the pay on arrival option the hotel attempted to take full payment prior to our arrival , had no correspondence from the hotel until turning up at reception to be told we didn’t have a room booked ! The gentleman on reception was not the most polite or helpful and pointed us outside to the hotels ‘sister’ hotel 100 yards up the road where we were able to get a room . The room was charged at same as original price but most definitely not same standard as original room booked ! Very dated , bathroom stunk of damp and tiles falling off wall , we were on the 5th floor the rail across the window was loose and definitely not safe to lean on ! The smoke detector in the room had been disconnected and left off . Tv didn’t work and the radiator had a leak and made loud dripping noises all night . All in all definitely not what was booked and what we paid for 1 ⭐️ at best and definitely not 3 !!
- Tim (6/5): - Rooms were small... Not a problem
Tiles were cracked and grouting was dirty and gross. Toilet didn't flush very well.
The staff was helpful and took care of me. They did seem to assume that I knew things I didn't. If you are on a budget I absolutely recommend it. But it wasn't so good that I will always book my trip through there.
- isabella (2/5): - When picking this hotel I felt catfished, the images shown display a beautiful and clean hotel, however when I arrived what I found was not that. For starters I had to carry my bags up two flights of stairs to find a dirty hotel room, the wallpaper was peeling, the air conditioner hadn't been cleaned in forever (so I was sick the entire trip), the floor had dirt and grime and bedsheets were very dirty. I was truly surprised that they didn't have bedbugs, that was the only bonus.
- Kelly (6/5): Not that great for what we paid. - I didn't think the hotel was very nice. It was small and our hotel room was supposed to have enough beds for 4 people and it only had one big bed and a couch. It was very small and it smelled like the bathroom the whole time. We paid for daily breakfast, which I would not recommend. It was not very tasty, but rather something you might quickly grab from the refrigerator at your own house- bread and jam. It was not that great for what we paid!
- Akshaykumar (2/5): - Stay away!!! Bed bugs!! And they don’t care for customers. They wanted me to sleep in room with bedbugs. Didn’t give full refund.
- Emilie (10/5): - Perfect crash pad to visit Paris for a couple of nights : location, very nice staff… yes the room was very small but confy beds, restaurants, shop and bar below and still very quiet when the window were closed.
- Michele (2/5): - The property is very old and it looks not so clean! Area well served
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location, super safe
- Lisa (10/5): - Small room, but standard for Paris
- virginia (10/5): - Sammy at the front desk was very helpful and accommodating to make our stay comfortable. . There were 3 of us traveling all women. Room was good size and clean. Serviced everyday of our 10 day stay. The location is so central restaurants crepes along the street . Bakery, cheese , wine and grocery store around corner. Metro station close on both corners. A very lively safe place to stay.
- Maria (2/5): - The pictures don’t reflect the current state of the property. You are requested to leave your key every time you leave the hotel. Dirty sheets and floor. Holes in the bathroom walls.
- Elizabeth (2/5): - Stay away! Not as advertised then they refuse to refund you! Reeked of cigarette smoke, bed literally had a dip in the middle of it, room was dirty, lights in hallway didn’t work and flickered , literally left after checking in because we feared for lives… was worse then the bates motel
- Catherine Victoria (10/5): - Convenient location
Friendly staff.
- Claudia (8/5): - The place was really nice, old but nice. The kitchen needs improvement, microwave is a bit broken and the coffee machine too, but the staff was really nice and helpful.
- Hermelinda (8/5): - Good service, good area, clean
- Catherine Victoria (8/5): - Friendly, efficient and clean hotel. Ideal setting for sightseeing, shopping and eating out.
- Vickie (10/5): - Will stay again.
- Laura Ann (8/5): - Great location in one of Paris most vibrant neighborhoods. Easy walk from the Montparnasse train station, with four Metro lines
Just down the street. The staff were very welcoming.
- Ingrid (4/5): - It wasn’t as was described. The hotel is really old and it’s not like the pictures look like.
- Morag Glen (4/5): - This is described as a 3 star hotel. We viewed 4 rooms before having to accept one with peeling wallpaper, loose fittings and mould in the bathroom tiles and in the fridge. Some of the reception staff grudgingly offered alternative rooms, but the condition of the hotel is really poor and worn out. Our room looked into the back with AC units and shed roofs. Stained carpet outside the room and cracked glazing in the public spaces.
Breakfast was fine. Room cleaning was good, with fresh towels daily and sheets changed during our stay.
AC in room was functional. There are 2 Hotel Renoir in this street. We checked into the first one but didn’t recognise it from the website pictures. We got a courtyard “room” with only room for the bed and a huge AC unit beside it. When we complained, rhe receptionist grabbed our case and took off down the street to the other place.
3 horrid rooms later, we accepted number 22, as they said there was nothing better.
You have to surrender your room key every time you go out. Expedia, you seriously need to monitor the hotels you offer.
- Marcela (4/5): - .
- Melody (10/5): - The staff was very friendly and seem to bend over backward to help us with our stay. I enjoyed the morning French breakfasts. It was near the metro so was easy to navigate to get to our other destinations.
- Duncan (10/5): - Start off the Camino walk
- Jennifer (8/5): - Great location. A/C was helpful.
- Kathryn-Ann (8/5): - We were only at this hotel for one night so it’s tough to comment on the location. It’s ok.
Generally that’s how I’d describe the hotel, actually: just ok.
There were dirty towels hanging in our bathroom when we arrived. Everything else seemed clean so I just brought them to the front desk. There was a fridge in the room, which is good. But the door to the bathroom wouldn’t close fully.
Just ok.
- David (4/5): - Smell of mould, leak in bathroom, small room
- ghulam (6/5): - This property is very old and lacks elevator to most rooms, you have to carry luggage up steep stairs… the rooms are old and very dated.
- Cynthia (10/5): - Great staff, super close to the citadel. Great breakfast!
- Peter (2/5): - Waited a half hour to check in. Desk clerk was “at lunch”. Hotel was not a 3 star property. One star would be generous. Property was dirty and in disrepair. Refrigerator in room didn’t work, offered to keep my sterile meds in common refrigerator in kitchen (no thanks). AC barely worked and room lamp was broken. Couldn’t get extra pillows after 2 pm (after that supplies are locked up). Totally dismal place. Left after one night to save my vacation. Property refused to give me a partial refund. Expedia didn’t do their due diligence on this one.
- Elisia (10/5): - Hotel Renoir in Monteparnasse is the perfect location to stay while visiting Paris. Lots of fun energy in this district while away from mass tourism. Charming corner and close to great food, markets, and Metro. You can also jog the Luxembourg Gardens close by.
- Rebecca (10/5): - The room was tiny - but the beds were very comfortable and clean.
- Patrick Joseph (6/5): - it is very central walking distance to most of the attractions
- Melanie (8/5): - The front desk staff were always friendly and helpful. The cleaning staff were also friendly and did a good job cleaning our room.
The area is great with restaurants nearby and the main train station was nearby. Very convenient location. The double bed was larger than I thought, so I was happy with the comfort. On Saturday there was a fresh produce street market with fresh meats, fish, cheeses, etc…This hotel is a tiny charm, great price, and centrally located with locals.
- Fernando (2/5): - Terribly disappointed with the hotel and also with Expedia. The photographs shown in the app do not reflect the real condition of the hotel. Small and dirty room, small bathroom and no closet!. We could not unpack the luggage. So bad, that after paying for 5 nights we decided to loose 1300 Euros and move to another hotel. I left a letter claiming reimbursement for the four nights paid that we did not use. I believe Expedia is also responsible for inducing guests to reserve a room in that lousy hotel. Disgusting experience
- Mircea (8/5): - Hello, this property it’s not a luxury hotel but a good hotel, clean, very good bed , elevator ,closed to everything. It’s a great area all around.I’ll come back again
- Shun Wai (2/5): - not the level of expectation as such high price
