Peter (7/5): Great place to stay to attend State Theatre event - Just across the road from the State Theatre. Perfect if you are attending an event there. Parking is tricky and can be expensive. You can park at various stations within walking distance, at a cost I really didn’t like the deposit not being refunded for 5 to 7 days. We stayed last Friday, the deposit is still sitting on my credit card 5 days later. When contacted the hotel apparently it takes 5 to 7 days for the deposit of $50 to be taken off the credit card. This feels unnecessary, and annoying. Hopefully Swissotel won’t forget to refund it. Don’t know where my $50 is at the moment.

Laresa (4/5): The room was disappointing - The location was great. Going away with my children for Mother’s Day, the room view was very disappointing as we were looking at a rusty roof. My kids get excited about looking out the windows and seeing the view and lights.

Would’ve loved more pillows in the room. We had to request for more pillows but staff promptly responded. Thank you! Lifts were also slow during peak times.

The room is too dim , i found several of your customers put this comment,so i think you better put more light in room. And i specially asked your staff to throw my garbage and did my bed but when i came back room at night, nothing was done.

Claire Bolton (9/5): Great family-friendly stay in an excellent central location - The standout feature was the friendly & helpful staff who went above and beyond to make all of us (including the children) feel welcome. A great central location made this an excellent base for exploring the city. It's becoming increasingly tricky to find centrally-located family rooms, so this was a big tick for our family. We all enjoyed the breakfast options. We would happily stay here again. Although the room was clean and comfortable, it felt a bit shabby and could do with some general 'freshening up'.

Caitlyn (10/5): Worth it, but I'll check if all elevators will be working next time - The staff were so lovely and helpful; even after my stay the concierge, Benjamin at the time, went out of his way to ensure I got to my ride safely. The third elevator was undergoing repairs. This meant those staying below the 20th floor faced a real struggle in going down to the lobby during peak times. Sometimes you would have to call for elevators up to four times as each one that came was already full. Additionally, each elevator had its own individual set of call buttons; it became a habit for guests to press all four buttons- up or down- in the hopes of finally being able to board. The result? Elevators completely at capacity, stopping at every floor, sometimes to empty corridors.

In hindsight, I wouldn't pay for breakfast. For a 5 star hotel, the cooked breakfast was ordinary especially the bacon, sausages and baked beans. One lift was out of order so there were often long waits to get to and from the room. I also didn't think the Arches Restaurant service was impressive.

shelly2126 (6/5): High price , No Five*Service - This place was highly disappointing. It was my husband birthday and they said they would welcome us with cake but they never did. When i rang to ask about it they said they forgot and all the cake in the hotel was gone. We didn’t really want the stupid cake, it was just the principles. Half hour later they bough up a bottle of wine. Check in was okay, nothing special. The room is fairly nice and the hotel central. However, it’s right in the city so can get very noisy. The staff are okay. We asked for a toothbrush that we had to call twice for . It came half hour later. I am Accor member but don’t think we will stay here again . For the money you paid it is definitely not worth it.

The Lifts are quite simply appalling and if you decide to use the stairs you can get in to them but then you are trapped. They should provide a bell or something like room card access at breakfast level!

Bridgeb (8/5): Lovely stay and staff. - I did love everything about the corner balcony king suite. It was spacious, the bed was comfortable, the tv was the right size for the room (noce and big), the bath was just deep enough and the shower had amazing pressure! Also the breakfast buffet was perfect, it catered for everyone! I didn't like the consistant long waiting time for the elevator. And at level 12 balcony suite you are right at the level where the sound from the fans outside was really loud. Thankfully the room was mostly sound proof so that was a plus.
