- Roza (10/5): Świetna lokalizacja i klimatyczny nieduży hotel - The Verona Hotel’s excellent location was the most important thing for us on this trip; it was also great that the hotel is situated close to Termini station, yet in a quiet area surrounded by numerous taverns and restaurants. The staff were very friendly and courteous – thank you, and we’ll definitely be back.

- madisono483 (2/5): Most uncomfortable bed I’ve been forced to sleep on. - Absolutely nothing like the photos, plus the most uncomfortable bed I’ve ever had to sleep on. There are zero amenities so it’s basically a cot and a bathroom. Photos show an outdoor dining/seating area, balconies on the rooms and plush beds — not the case at all. Way over priced, old, dated and gross. Only upside is how lovely the staff was, otherwise I was completely scammed.

- laurelqueen45 (10/5): Awesome experience with the staff at this hotel. - 1000/10 Highly recommended! Throughout my entire stay, the staff at this hotel took wonderful care of me and answered every question I had. I can't recall their names at the moment, but a special thank you goes to the lady and gentleman who recommended where to buy whole-bean coffee, and another special thank you to Mohamed for his attentiveness. Everyone there was incredibly friendly. I thought the location was phenomenal—just a 10, 20, or 30-minute walk to all the beautiful sights in the historic center. Plus, you have everything right nearby: a supermarket, a pharmacy, bars, and restaurants. Thank you, Hotel Verona!
- 667dind (8/5): Lovely central location - Amazing location. We would stay here again. The 24 hour staff / concierge are delightful. It feels safe and there is next to no noise when the window is shut. However, the room temperature is then hard to control. The other major down side included a very firm mattress and thin flat pillows. Towels aren't changed mid-week: only the beds are turned down. There is just one key, which they require to be left at reception whenever going out. Guests with mobility problems or large luggage would not manage easily as the lifts are strangely located on the landings between two floors.

- U8026KOjenniferm (2/5): Disappointed - I rarely leave negative reviews, but this stay was genuinely disappointing. We only needed a simple place to sleep because we were out all day and most of the night, but even that basic expectation wasn’t met.
The room was extremely hot and uncomfortable. Normally opening a window would solve that, but the room was directly above a very noisy street, so opening it meant constant traffic noise that made it impossible to rest.
The shower was also incredibly small, around two feet wide and barely usable. Anyone larger than slim would struggle to fit comfortably.
The biggest issue was the bed. It wasn’t level at all and felt like it was sloping badly to one side. It genuinely felt like I had to brace myself with my knee just to stop sliding, which made it impossible to relax or sleep properly.
We didn’t expect luxury we literally just needed a bed after long days out but unfortunately this didn’t even provide that. Overall, it was a very uncomfortable stay. I did mention the heat but little was done no aircon or offer to move.

- SuzyAnd (10/5): Lovely find in Rome - Very clean and modern room. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful, after arriving early they arranged early checkin. Room was large with comfortable bed which we requested additional pillows, nothing was too much trouble. We hired a kettle at €20 deposit as this is not included in the room you get the kettle and tea bags, you would need to bring coffee and get milk, there is a fridge in the room which there is water provided.
5 minutes walk from Termini and 20 minutes from most other attractions. Lots of restaurants and bars near by as well as Cafes and supermarkets.
- Sarah (9/5): A gem in Rome. - The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Just the bed, the headboard was a little uncomfortable when sitting up. There is a light switch on the headboard which we kept hitting at night turning the lights. This is very minimal discomfort. But overall love this hotel. It's the second time visiting Rome and Hotel Verona.
Rien

- Tesařová (10/5): - Klidná poloha kousek od nádraží Termini. Bufetová snídaně byla výborná, všeho dostatek. Hotel je čistý a personál milý a vstřícný.
- Neptis (10/5): Second visit this year - Second time visiting this hotel this year, rooms a little tired looking, have everything you need though, but overall a lovey experience here, staff are friendly, helpful and welcoming close by all the sightseeing you will need, order lasagne from restaurant next door it’s amazing. And we had a recommendation to eat at Da Robertino, second time trying here as well and food is authentic, very nice.

- Suzanne (7/5): - The staff were very very nice and helpful/friendly. The bed was comfortable i had great sleeps. Extremely convienient to Mary Major Basillica, walkable to Termini Station, lovely restsurants nearby. Its a nice area (Monti). The hotel was a little tired. Things like the shower cubicle flooded the floor if you weren't careful. I would have like an English news channel.
- Pastorino (9/5): -
- wong (8/5): -
- Tannous (8/5): -
- JoseLeandro (9/5): - Muy buena ubicación y personal muy amable. Habitación pequeña
- Nina (7/5): - Whole stuff is very friendly and helfull The hotel really looks poor. For the money we paid; I would expect more.
Rooms require a complete makeover
- Gina (10/5): - Easy access to great food options and shops and monuments
- James (6/5): - We liked the second room we got after moving due to loud noise from air conditioning motor outside. The noise in the first room we were given. The room was also not yet renovated like the second room.
- Alina (7/5): Decent.
- Jose (9/5): -
- Kathy (8/5): Convenient, atmospheric and friendly - Loved the location and the atmosphere
- diretta4 (8/5): - Posizione buona
Staff molto gentile
- denisebQ6877BV (8/5): Lovely stay - Just returned from a 4 night trip. We had a pleasant stay. Corridors and reception clean. Our room ( 504) could do with a bit of a decor update, but was clean and a good size. Comfortable, king- sized bed. You hang a sign on your door handle if you want your room serviced. Bathroom clean. Shower small and would not be suitable for larger people but water was always hot. Ok for me but my husband who is average size struggled a bit. Soap dispenser in the bathroom but no shampoo/shower gel, so make sure you bring your own. You can have breakfast for €10pp each morning, and it has a bar if you want a drink, but we didn't bother with either.
We were on the 5th floor. Some street and traffic noise at night but didn't bother us. Lift doesn't stop at each floor, so we had a short flight of stairs to climb from 4th to 5th floors when we got out.
The cleaners had the habit of wedging the door of the lift open with buckets on the ground floor each morning, so we couldn't call the lift and had to use the stairs. Receptionists were all very friendly. Check-in was quick. Don't forget to add the city tax to your costs. We paid 48 euros for the 4 nights.
The hotel is centrally located, so great for sightseeing. We purchased the hop-on hop-off Big Bus Pass 72 hour ticket for €50pp but this also included a one hour night bus tour, worth €23 if booked separately, and a free ice cream from a Gelatist outlet worth €4 so it's good value for money if you use the buses everyday as we did. Great for 1st time visitors like us. There is a stop next to the Basilica Santa Maria Maggiore ( the largest church in Italy dedicated to the Virgin Mary), which is visible from the hotel and just a couple of minutes walk away. Turn right as you leave the hotel, walk across the front of the church, and the bus stop is just across the road. The bus stops at 8 points around the city. You can get to all the major sights from these. We got on the bus and did a full circle of the route to get our bearings when we arrived, which I would recommend for 1st time visitors. There is an audio guide, which is informative with free packaged headphones on each bus, and they arrive about every 15-20minutes. Just hop off on the stop you need, then visit the sight you have chosen and then hop back on and go to another site. There is always some walking to do after you get off the bus to get to your chosen site, so wear really comfortable footwear (and a hat in summer). It was 29C degrees whilst we were there, and visiting Rome involves lots of walking. There are company assistants at every stop to help with any questions. The 72 hours start from the time you these assistants first print off your tickets. You can get 24 and 48 hour versions, too.
You can walk to the Colosseum ( which we did), from the hotel in about 15 minutes at a steady walking pace, and the Forum and Palatine Hill are next to this. We visited these on the same day, but it was exhausting, and I would highly recommend you split this and do the Colosseum one morning with the Forum and Palatine Hill the following day. I was so tired by the time I had walked around the Colosseum and Palatine Hill that I didn't have the energy left to walk all the way around the forum. Tickets to the Colosseum include the other 2 sites, and you can visit the latter 2 as long as it's within 24 hours of your Colosseum visit anyway.
The walk from the bus stop to the Vatican is about 1.5 miles. We walked a total of 7.5 miles that day. We visited Piazza Navona in the morning beforehand.
All the major sites are extremely busy, people and queues at each, especially at the Vatican. Skip the line tickets are helpful, but it is still difficult to negotiate your way around, and you will still end up in a queue. The queues are not well organised.
I would recommend buying Colosseum, Vatican and Pantheon tickets online before you go. Tickets are in time blocks and they sell out quickly. I booked mine a few days before we travelled. I would recommend the Arena ticket for the Colosseum which allows entry to the area where the gladiators fought. A very different perspective to the area where the spectators sat.
Take a water bottle with you to keep hydrated, although there are places to purchase drinks.
We did the Vatican garden tour. It was a nice rest to sit on a bus for the garden after the walk up to the Vatican. It doesn't include St Peter's Basillica which we didnt visit. But again, I would recommend you do this separately to the Vatican/Sistine due to the amount of walking involved. The queues for the Basillica were also huge.
Due to the crowds, keep an eye on your wallets/ purses/phones as they are a pick pocket magnet.
There are loads of pizzerias/ trattorias everywhere for eating. We ate at the pizzeria just outside the hotel on the first night as we were tired after an early flight. Food and service good but all the places we ate at were also good so choose any.
Rome is a lovely city. I advise you plan an itinerary before you go. The Colosseum, Sistine Chapel, and Trevi fountain are must see, but everywhere is extremely busy, and the large crowds at each do taint the sight seeing a little, ( unavoidable though) but overall, we had a enjoyable stay. The Verona is a very nice, comfortable hotel, well situated for touring Rome. I would be happy to stay there again.
- Nathan (8/5): - Basic hotel, a little dated but was fine for one night.
- Ismail (10/5): - Very good I highly recommend it .
- Kate (10/5): - Hotel Verona was a great hotel and ideally situated within walking distance of the main attractions.
Rooms were very clean with a good breakfast and hotel staff were very helpful with any questions you may have.
There are numerous restaurants close by and Trevi Fountain is an approximate 15min walk away with lots of shopping and cafes.
I would definitely stay at Hotel Verona again.
Would recommend.
Cheers
Kate
- Cristi (9/5): -
- Holly (10/5): - Very friendly staff cute room
Walkable to train station and other places
- Bogdan (8/5): -
- Velik (8/5): -
- Carmel (9/5): For a one night stay it was good. - Fifteen minutes walk to the station. Staff friendly and helpful. Close to all attractions. Surrounded by lots of restaurants Didn’t like the lift. Too small for someone who suffers from claustrophobia. Walked up and down the five flights of stairs.
No coffee in the room, just tea.
- ornella (6/5): Very very small room. - Workers were very nice and helpful The room was a postage stamp
- Avery (10/5): - Staff was so friendly, they spoke both French and English which was great for us! Rooms were clean, location is perfect, would certainly recommend!
- Barbara (9/5): - good location, close to all the attractions. So I could walk to all the attractions. everyone at the reception was friendly The shower cabin is so small and strangely placed that you almost have to step over the toilet.
- Duc (10/5): - Receptionist lady and man all excellent!
Very stylish
- Regina (8/5): -
- Kate (8/5): Fine for our needs - good location, clean and functional - Good location for us - clean room and functional - optional kettle was a bonus! Looks a little run down from the outside.
Breakfast was not available when we stayed which was a shame.
- Theresa (8/5): - The hotel room was clean. It had a nice little balcony. There was good food near the hotel.
- Antony (10/5): - Staff was very helpful when I had an accident close to getting back to the hotel
- Javier (10/5): - Relativamente cerca de varias atracciones. Precio accesible. Ofrece desayunos a un precio competitivo.
Definitivamente si volvería a utilizar este hotel.
- Kevin (10/5): - Location is good, walking distance to attractions. Staff is very friendly. AC is available in room.
Small elevator stops between each floor, so you have to take the luggage to walk for few stairs.
- Baretta (8/5): -
- roberto dall'asen (8/5): -
- Martinez (10/5): - EXCENLENTE TRATO POR PARTE DEL PERSONAL, LA HABITACION MUY COMODA U LIMPIA Y UNA UBICACION PERFECTA PARA TOMAR VACACIONES EN ROMA Y CONOCER CADA LUGAR DE INTERES YA QUE SE ENCEUNTRA BIEN CONECTADO CON MEDIOS DE TRANPORTE Y MUCHOS LUGARE SE PUEDE LLEGAR CAMINANDO. GRACIAS!
- Ana (8/5): - Really thankful to Dario! He went above and beyond and made sure my mom and family felt comfortable. It made our stay much better.
- karen (8/5): - Great staff, good location. I give 4 starts because the first day the ac wasn’t working. Next day they fixed! Overall happy .
- Nathangpr (2/5): Would not stay in a place with staff who lie - We tried to book this hotel and it showed availability online but when I rang to ask a question about having a cot in the triple room they said the room is not available and I would have to book 2 doubles.
Would not recommend this hotel for families.
- Nicholas (10/5): - It was clean and functional. Staff were very friendly. I would recommend.
- Hap (8/5): - Enjoyed our stay!
- SHAKIL (4/5): - Very smelly bathrooms
- Companion55808551479 (8/5): Great little hotel! - I’m not sure why everyone gives this hotel such poor ratings, especially knowing it’s a 3* hotel when booking. We’ve had a great stay at Hotel Verona, the staff are so lovely and welcoming! We stayed in one of the refurbished rooms on the fourth floor, which was a little small but perfect for our city break in rome. The air con worked really well and could be adjusted. However, the condensation has dripped on the floor, but we were able to mop this up with a towel no problem. Some people may find the mattresses too hard, but we didn’t find this an issue. Overall we’ve had a lovely stay here and would 100% come back when returning to Rome! Grazie 🇮🇹❤️
- Robert (9/5): Superb - Close to train station and walking distance to Coloseum No kettle (hire option), no tea or coffee in the room.
- Chaltu (10/5): - No night life in the area except one place which is too small
- Jose (10/5): - Great
- Christopher Alan (6/5): - Air conditioner was not working
- Judith (8/5): - Property was clean and bright. Rooms are small and plain but comfortable. Staff is friendly. There are steps to get up to the elevator and either up or down to get to room from elevator, so not 100% accessible.
(9/5): Superb -
- Fiona (6/5): - Great location (easy to walk to the sites). The family room was small a very tired. The bathroom very small and the shower pretty awful.
Staff were very friendly and the breakfast was good, but not a huge choice of options for food.
- Jimin (8/5): Okay for the price - We traveled as a family of three. The location was perfect, with multiple bus stops and taxi stand available, steps away from the St. Maria cathedral. Staff are very friendly. We could feel that the building is old but the room was clean. The room was okay but quite small.
- Vanessa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stéphane (10/5): - 👌
