- Thelma (10/5): - We had an excellent stay at Hotel Gotico. It is centrally located to many restaurants and shops. On our first night we asked for a restaurant recommendation. The gentleman at the counter gave us one and told us how to get there. He made reservations for us as well. Once we got to the square, I was confused about the name of the restaurant so I called our hotel. The gentleman said “where are you? Wait there.” He walk to us and showed us to the restaurant. That was wonderfully kind of him and so appreciated!! All the staff were wonderful! Just as a tip, tour vans and buses are not permitted in the old section of Barcelona so you will need to walk to a meeting point. It is so much calmer in the old section so it is worth the walk to meet a tour. Taxis are permitted.

- David (8/5): - Great location, easy access to the metro, the gothic quarter as a whole. Bathroom was quite nice. Terrace window opened up for a pleasant evening, but once closed blocked noise and light for a good nights sleep. WiFi was weak, but servicable. The 'two pushed together singles to make a double' bed wasn't great. Definitely the worst quality bed we used in the country, but despite that I still really liked this hotel and would strongly consider rebooking here if i return to Barcelona.

When you book several months in advance there should be no reason for an accessible room to not be available.

The rooms were very clean and well maintained, and the staff were always friendly, helpful, and welcoming, and lovely selection at breakfast. The hotel is located on a busy street, which adds to the lively atmosphere, and it's within walking distance to many key attractions. One standout feature is the rooftop terrace it's a small but lovely space that guests should definitely take advantage of, especially for a quiet moment. One thing to note is that it's quite close to the cathedral where the bells chime throughout the night. While this isn't the hotel's fault, light sleepers should bring earplugs and this shouldn’t be a problem. Overall, a great stay with excellent service in a vibrant part of the city!

The air conditioning was a life saver during the heat wave - we came back to the room a couple times during the day to cool down from the heat and it was perfect. Staff was very friendly and helpful - would definitely stay again!

We took a night time flight - staff were happy to look after our bags until we were ready to leave for airport and let us use facilities until then. Great price too. The only downside was the cleaning, as we expected the bathroom to be cleaned more thoroughly each day. Otherwise, a wonderful hotel and would recommend.

Everything is literally around this hotel, whether you want to see the Cathedral de Barcelona, which is literally a 2 minute walk straight ahead of the hotel's entrance, or whether you want to go to the Rambla's down the street. Food everywhere in each corner and even infront of the hotel. Absolutely would recommend to stay here if visiting Barcelona and want to stay in the Gothic Quarters. Also, pretty cheap as well.

- Frank (10/5): - Very good hotel in an excellent location for central Barca. Staff, without exception, friendly and helpful. Decent breakfast. Be aware that "room service" comes from outside by motorbike, not from the hotel, and in our case did not arrive in the alloted half hour slot. As it was 11.30pm by then, he was sent away without payment and delivery rejected.

The restaurant name was Carta Cadaques. We ordered the seafood paella which was 32 euros/person, and was pitiful with respect to the fact that you could count the pieces of fish (per person) on 1 hand. Very disappointed. I would never recommend this restaurant.

Close to popular sites without feeling overwhelmed by big crowds. Room was comfortable. Not huge, but more than adequate. Bonus was a small fridge that actually kept things cold. We did not have time in the morning to use the breakfast room, but it looked nice.

Unfortunately, it is located on a very busy street with a lot of noise all hours of the day and night. If you need a quiet place to sleep, make sure your room is not facing the street.
- Michael (8/5): - Arriving well before check-in after a cruise, I was met with friendly and efficient service, and my luggage was safely stored. My room was clean and well-supplied, though I was disappointed by the thin walls, which allowed significant noise from neighboring rooms. The complimentary breakfast was excellent. However, the most significant event was the theft of my phone while I was out. Without my laptop, I was in a difficult situation, but the hotel's reception staff were incredibly helpful. They assisted me in contacting my spouse in the US, allowing me to remotely erase my phone data. Their prompt and compassionate response was truly appreciated.

- Jacki Ann (10/5): - Only complaint is that you can hear all the street noise from the rooms on the street. Our other room was interior (looked out onto a little green space) and that room was very quiet. Great location for dining, shopping, walking and public transport.
- Raghunath (8/5): - The hotel is in a nice location, the rooms are clean, and the staff is very helpful. The only reason I have given 4 stars is because of their breakfast. It should have been better, as there were limited options for vegetarians.

- Kimberly (8/5): - I recently stayed at this hotel, and overall, it was a great experience! The location is ideal, with many major tourist attractions within walking distance, eliminating the need for taxis. For those who prefer public transportation, the metro is only a few minutes away, making it even easier to explore the area. The 24-hour front desk was incredibly helpful, especially when I had to check out at 3 a.m. for an early flight. The staff quickly arranged a taxi for me, which arrived within minutes. The hotel itself is very clean, modern, and secure, which made me feel comfortable throughout my stay. My room was surprisingly spacious – much larger than I expected for a European hotel – and featured a contemporary design with a large, modern bathroom. I highly recommend adding the buffet breakfast to your stay. The food was delicious, with a wide variety of options, and the breakfast hours (7:30–10:30 a.m.) were very convenient. My only issue was the lack of air conditioning in the fall. Although it was around 70°F outside, it still felt quite warm in the room, even with the window open. Fortunately, the front desk provided a fan, which made a huge difference. Without it, the room would have been uncomfortable during the day. The evenings were cooler, so I didn’t need the fan at night. While the fan helped, I’d hesitate to stay again during warmer fall days unless I'm certain a fan will be available.
- Annelisse (10/5): - LOVED having the balcony overlooking the street to people watch from! Thou downside… street noise all hours of night. Pillows and beds were not comfy but location was amazing! Clean and modern with friendly staff.
- Raenetta (10/5): - We had an amazing time at Hotel Gotico! The location couldn't be better—just a short stroll to the charming old quarter, and there were so many fantastic dining options nearby. The staff was incredibly friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. We can’t wait to come back to Barcelona and stay here again!
- Diana (2/5): - Terrible Experience – No AC and Poor Customer Service I had a very disappointing stay at this hotel in October. Despite the weather in Barcelona being extremely hot, the hotel claimed they had switched to heating for “winter,” leaving the AC completely unusable. The room was unbearably warm, and when we raised the issue with the front desk, they said they would check it, but no one ever came. They also suggested putting the AC on “E” as a fan, but this made no difference. I woke up drenched in sweat, which completely ruined my stay. The bathroom was another issue—it was so moist that it smelled like a swamp, making it very uncomfortable to use. Despite bringing all of these concerns to the staff, they were unhelpful and dismissive. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone. For the price, I expected at least basic comfort, but this stay was far from that. Avoid at all costs if you want a comfortable stay in Barcelona!
