Guest Reviews
- Janie (9/5): - Cool little boutique hotel in great location. Lovely friendly feel and great inner courtyard pool / bar area.
- Mayela (6/5): - The room was not like the picture, one day our room eas not cleaned
- Nevedomaya (1/5): Absolutely terrible experience. The room smelled bad from the moment we arrived, and getting any kind of assistance too - Location Staff, the property
- Maria Joao (8/5): -
- WorldTravellerfromGB (10/5): A hotel with true old-school Hollywood vibes with a modern twist - This hotel is perfectly located in Beverly Hills, with a pleasant and very safe 10 to 15 minute walk to the heart of Beverly Hills.
The hotel itself is much smaller than it appears in the photos, but that actually adds to its charm. It feels like staying in an old apartment building for Hollywood stars, which fittingly was its original purpose back in the 1940s.
The rooms are excellent in terms of both size and amenities, and the included tea and coffee at breakfast is a really appreciated touch.
What truly makes this hotel stand out is its atmosphere. The design carefully respects the building’s original legacy, making it feel full of character rather than just another soulless chain hotel.

- gabby579 (10/5): Avalon, 12/10 - Avalon is a gem! Such a special place. Yes, it’s conveniently located, well appointed, great amenities, and delicious onsite restaurant that draws hotel guests and locals alike. But what truly sets it apart are the people that make this place run. Shout out to Michael!
Michael is always friendly, kind, helpful and punctual. Emerson, Carlo, Christi, and Addison are also wonderful. It’s clear staffing is a priority here and they take customer service seriously. Highly recommend Avalon for fun and business travel.
- SoniaF823 (10/5): My Favorite Hotel in LA! - An amazing boutique hotel—truly original, with incredible food, a cool atmosphere, and an exceptional staff who go above and beyond to ensure your stay is outstanding. The location is set in a lovely neighborhood, perfect for walking and conveniently close to major sightseeing spots. This was my second stay, and I will absolutely be back again!
- zakk892 (10/5): Great spot! - Really cute and relaxing place to stay! Room was nice, good restaurant, good service. Valet was timely and nice. Recommend for couples.
- Kirk (10/5): lovely stay and highly recommend! - Really nice property! Very nice public areas, room with all the amenities and super comfortable. I liked everything about it and would happily stay here again! I also felt that it was a very good value at the time that I stayed. Everything was great!

- NorthStar06968120293 (10/5): Great Hotel, don’t miss it! - What a great destination. Some of the most accommodating staff you will ever meet. From the front desk with Kalia, Jeremy and Christy to the attentive wait staff and Michael, Art and Chris at the valet parking you will enjoy your stay. Poolside breakfast is a great way to start your day. Don’t miss it.

- S430GQmarkl (2/5): Total lack of staff - Came here for dinner. When we arrived, no one working the valet & no self-parking option.
After dinner, same thing. Another guest abandoned his car in the driveway. And another couple also wanted to get their car after us. Truly pathetically that a hotel has no parking or employees in this day & age.
This was a weekend evening, restaurant was fairly dead, as was the lobby, so not like they were slammed or this was a random Tuesday evening or anything. No excuse.
- raney742 (8/5): 3.5/5 - The positives:
-Got upgraded as a titanium elite member to a larger room with balcony.
-Comfortable beds.
-Perfect location.
-Nice pool.
The negatives:
-$46 daily amenity fee felt unjustified, the bikes you can use were flimsy and didn’t have brakes.
-Although pool is nice it only gets direct sun for a certain period of the day, not ideal for those who want to tan and enjoy the sun.
- On my last day housekeeping didn’t turn up until 5pm.
- No free breakfast
Overall a decent hotel, staff are perfectly pleasant. I would potentially stay here again depending on the rate, shouldn’t be higher than $300 a night based on what is on offer in my opinion.
- Paul (9/5): Very good. - The layout and historical charm of the place, and the staff were exceptional. It is close to high end stores and restaurants in a very up-market area. It could be quite noisy at times. Light sleepers would be best requesting a room on the top floor.
- Daniel (9/5): -
- Evi (8/5): -
- Maya (10/5): - Wonderful attitude and service, they do everything to make you feel comfortable and pleasant. Well done. You need to ask for cleaning.
- Nora (9/5): Genuino!
- Fawzi (2/5): It was NOT GOOD - Location Old furniture and not clean
- Javier (8/5): -
- Dorothea (8/5): -
- michelle (3/5): Not a 4 star hotel, maybe a 4 star motel? - Its almost painful to give a bad review to this hotel because there are genuinely some very nice staff members - mainly the valet staff. Unfortunately the hotel is not clean at all. I had to ask them to clean my room every day as house keeping either forgot or ran out of time. The suites building across the street is overlooked by staff. Avoid booking those suites, they have zero natural sunlight which makes depressing to stay in. The pictures of the pool area do NOT represent reality.
- Talibova (8/5): -
- Luticia (9/5): -
- sigrid (8/5): Nice, large rooms in great area - Shabby chic Room, great Pool and Restaurant, complimentary breakfast

- Starz221 (10/5): My favorite place - I can’t say enough wonderful things about the Avalon Hotel and its staff. My favorite place to be was at the cabana by the pool with family (or working with a yummy breakfast). Even during colder months, that spot has heat lamps that make it the perfect place to be, morning or evening.
The staff was always personable, helpful and welcoming. A shoutout to Carlos and Luis at the front desk for helping to extend my stay. And of course the waitstaff at Vivianne were fantastic as well.
I only wish my stay could have been longer. I’ll be back. :)
- justbran (10/5): Once again I can't wait to come back! - I am so happy I got to go back not specifically on business travel! I don't want to leave in the morning.
Apon arrive at 11:45 am I had 2 giant suitcases and at 12:15 pm lunch so I assumed I would check bags. The lovely dude (maybe Jeremy) said welcome back and we have upgraded your room. He gave me a ginger shot and 2 water cartons which was handy after a few conferences and flying a bunch with germs.
The location is sooooo walkable and the restaurant, Viviane, is amazing. Addison and everyone else could not be more helpful....pouring rain/cold and you can sit outside by the beautiful pool under heat lamps and have cheerful service. The tuna poke bowl was amazing. Addison is from Hawaii and said it is the best in LA so super high praise.
I had teams meetings all day with only two breaks. The guy at the front desk planned my room cleaning to coincide to follow my break with the woman who would clean who has been at the property for decades and her break.....so clean.
The architecture and decor is beautiful and look forward to my next stay!
- mary ann (10/5): We had a fantastic time at the Avalon and would easily recommend it to friends and family. - The staff was excellent. Every employee was cordial and friendly. The people at the counter, the restaurant staff, and the valet workers were all very nice. Cannot think of anything I didn't like.
- dwayneb675 (10/5): Like Family - I would highly recommend the Avalon Hotel for your stay. My wife had to have emergency surgery on 9/23/25 and we live 3+ hours away. I just happen to stumble across the Avalon Hotel while looking for a place to stay after surgery. From the moment I called and explained my situation the staff was very accommodating to her recover needs. The staff here treated us like family and always asked if there was anything they could do for us. We have been back 3 times after this first experience for follow up visit and know we make a weekend out of it. I also want to mention they have a great restaurant on the premise.
Special Thanks to the following: Front Desk: Maxine, Maribel, Jeremy, Carlo, Luis Restaurant: George, Feruk, Tony, Walner, Jason, Chris, Pepe and special thanks to chef Jesus Valet: Emerson, Arturo, Carlos, Chris, Dion, Brad, Michael and Special Thanks to the Managers for making all this happen: Martin, Hudith and Addison.
See you shortly :)
- nhughes45 (10/5): Perfect stay - The room, the people, the restaurant, are all perfect. We will always stay here. We visit our family and always have the best time.
- Orit (10/5): -
- Tracy (8/5): Location great, comfortable bed, clean rooms, and fabulous service all around. - Location… was great. We were able to walk everywhere in Beverly Hills. Staff was exceptional all around but especially Warner our server. Fabulous service. Nothing
- Coastal660732 (10/5): Second visit and looking forward to more - This is a boutique hotel in Beverly Hills, within walking distance of Rodeo Drive. The rooms are very spacious and immaculately kept. There is a small but fully equipped gym, and the outdoor pool area is very inviting. The food was so good that we ate most of our meals around the pool. While not inexpensive, we found the food comparable to anywhere outside the hotel along Beverly Drive. Everyone, front desk staff, wait staff, valet staff, is very friendly and accommodating. We were also pleasantly surprised about the price; we have paid more for less in Canada! So I would recommend the Avalon for value alone. But it offers that and more. I would highly recommend this hotel and look forward to returning soon.
- davidtate68 (8/5): Great property, perfect location! - The rooms are lovely and the service exceeds all expectations, but there is one tiny thing that I was not a fan of. It is a 4-5 star "Hotel" that is more like a REALLY, REALLY nice motel. I don't like having my door facing the outdoors...I prefer the door to my hotel room to lead to a hallway.
With that in mind, EVERYTHING else was perfect! The entire staff was warm, friendly and welcoming. The room itself was awesome. The food and cocktails at the bar/restaurant were spot on. The chocolate in my room upon arrival was quite memorable. The pool area was great. I would absolutely stay here again!
- Jana (10/5): - Velmi pekne. Cisto, prijemny stuff

- Vacation23109715466 (10/5): Mike in valet is awesome :) - I sing at this hotel a few times a month and wanted to write this to express my appreciation for Mike in valet. He’s always very kind, helpful, fast, and polite. I appreciate how he takes care of me and my car. Thank you!
- Discover42268939293 (10/5): Service - Michael and Carlos have changed the way I think about traveling they make every experience incredible. I’ve been coming to the Avalon for quite some time and they always put a smile on my face. Service is impeccable and I can’t think of anything I’d rather do than write this review
- rachelmT4457YW (10/5): Charming hotel with excellent service - The hotel was charming and nicely laid-out. Every staff encounter was friendly and the front desk staff (Jeremy and Maribel)) were so helpful and warm. Waitstaff and food were also great (best frittata I’ve ever had). The bathrooms are small, but not a problem for us.
- Sarah Lynn (10/5): - The room was spacious and comfortable, very walkable to the Golden Triangle and restaurants. Easy to take car shares to other spots in West Hollywood.
Staff was excellent and friendly, with Maribel and Jeremy as standouts! Friendly, helpful and kind! Thank you for making my stay at the Avalon a great one!
- stevensJ3179GZ (10/5): A perfect Stay - Great stay as always. A special thank you to Emerson the valet. Extremely kind and welcoming. A true brand ambassador! Thank you
- latresec2024 (10/5): Avalon Hotel - Quaint hidden gem. The front desk and bell stand staff were very helpful and friendly. They gave me a juice refresher upon arrival. It’s walking distance from places to eat on Beverly Blvd. Also had breakfast by the pool. Olympic is the main building. I stayed across the street in Canon. No elevator but stairs were manageable.
- Gabrielle (8/5): -
- Jilla (10/5): Excellent , clean hotel with the most friendly, knowledgeable and professional staff. - I enjoyed the restaurant. I had breakfast and dinner several times, and it was a great experience.
- Mariel (10/5): Great hotel, will come back. - This hotel was amazing. Good location, well-decorated and comfortable rooms. Peaceful environment and great staff. Will definitely come back. Valet is on the pricier side but to be expected in the zone.

- R728IVlisat (10/5): A Wonderful Stay at The Avalon – Highly Recommend! - A Wonderful Stay at The Avalon – Highly Recommend!
I had the pleasure of staying at The Avalon this past week while visiting from Florida, and I truly couldn’t have picked a better hotel—or a better location. Everything was within walking distance, which made exploring the area so easy and enjoyable.
What really made my stay exceptional, though, was the staff. The restaurant team was an absolute delight every single day—kind, professional, and consistently offering outstanding service.
And then there’s Carlos at the front desk. Every great hotel has that one standout person, and Carlos is definitely that for The Avalon. From the moment we arrived, he was incredibly helpful, always greeting us with a warm smile and a genuine willingness to assist. His customer service is impeccable, and he’s a true gem of the hotel. If you stay here, be sure to look for Carlos and let him know about this glowing review—he absolutely deserves it.
Also, if you can, request Room 222—great location and very comfortable!
- Donna (10/5): Best place in LA !!! - Great location , intimate, kind obliging staff, clean just a total joy Nothing , all excellent
- 310marcyh (10/5): The Broadway of LA Hotels - As an NYC based writer who often mixes business with pleasure travel in Los Angeles, there is no place more perfect than the Avalon. It is chic, comfortable, welcoming, laid back and basically all around perfect. It has a great outdoor layout for both working and gathering with friends, and the service couldn't be better. I return again and again, and I hope you do too. Special recognition to Hudith, Christine, Hailey, Antonio, Farouk, and kudos to all. I will be back, and soon!
- Saqib (8/5): -

- Verified traveler (10/5): Thank you! - I was pleasantly surprised and thrilled with my entire stay; i stayed in both your Beverly and Canon buildings, each of which are wonderful. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and I was thrilled with the space, bathroom, and obviously the incredibly cozy bathrobes and slippers. The staff was kind, accommodating, and were quick to help with any extra needs in my room. Thank you again for such a wonderful stay!
- winfried (6/5): - Very nice hotel … but the restaurant and breakfast bar are a disaster ! Restaurant! If you want to eat better elsewhere!
- Ya (10/5): - Great staff
- Benjamin (8/5): -
- Rachel (10/5): Thank you, Avalon! - Wonderful and accommodating staff, clean, gorgeous rooms! Everything was wonderful!
- Debbie (9/5): Charming hotel with a fantastic location. - The breakfast was delicious and was so nice to eat outside by the pool We had an issue with the wifi that we needed for a meeting

- taniagV4399GX (10/5): Great price / quality - The hotel is beautiful! rooms spacious and clean, and the service was really good, everyone was very kind , including valet parking :)
- go911 (4/5): The second time there, but it was the last stay there - The bes was good Our room was in a old building behind the hotel. That was not nice. I didn‘t got an invoice, because it was paid already at booking.com. No motivation from the girl at the reception to find a solution.
- Philipp (10/5): -
- Brad (10/5): - Jeremy at the front desk was excellent. Property is great - just feels a touch dated, with slow moving drains and such.
- alanasZ2318LW (10/5): Great hotel and excellent staff - I came back only 3 weeks after my first stay for business. This hotel was so good to me, I knew it was where I was going to stay again. The most notable experience was how well the staff treated me. Some even remembered me from last time. This trip, I had the pleasure of staying while Cody from Palm Springs, Daniel, Eunice, Carlo, and hudith worked the front desk. They all were extremely accommodating even walking outside to give me specific directions when I casually asked about a running path. I felt safe, well taken care of, and as though I was among friends.
Michael, Johnathan, Art, and Emerson were our valets while I was there. They were always on top of everything making me feel like vip. They took my bags to my room, and brought them back voluntarily. They even remembered me from last time. They always had my car within minutes of me walking down to go somewhere and they always made me feel welcomed and appreciated.
Jason ran the restaurant attached to the hotel. I decided to eat there this time to see what the hype was about. The food was excellent—-and Jason made me feel like I was his only guest even though nearly every table was full inside and poolside.
I will definitely be coming back soon!
- Marily (10/5): Great ! - It was comfortable and the pool was great. I love the açaí bowls too. They could renovate the alleys.
- Eun (8/5): - There was never enough drinking water around. Please consider adding more drinking water dispensers.

- Dbeckz01 (10/5): The Avalon Hotel in Beverly Hills is Gem - The Avalon Hotel in Beverly Hills is truly one of those rare places that feels like a home away from home. Every time I walk through the front doors, I’m reminded why my mom stays here so often and love it. They don’t just know her by name, they genuinely care about her and treat her like family, and I've seen that kindness extend to every guest who walks through the door.
The entire staff at the Avalon is outstanding. From the valet team who greet you with a smile and a helping hand, to the food service and housekeeping staff who work so hard behind the scenes, every single person goes out of their way to make your stay special. The front desk team, especially Carlo and Eunice, are just incredible. They’re warm, professional, and somehow always a step ahead and very accommodating. Their level of personal service goes far beyond what you’d expect. You feel seen, valued, and taken care of. If I could name everyone I would, each deserves their own shout out.
The housekeeping is consistently excellent. Every room I’ve stayed in has been spotless and fresh. The beds are super comfortable and the details — like the Aesop toiletries — add a little luxury to your daily routine. It’s that perfect blend of relaxed comfort and polished style.
This a smaller intimate hotel has become a very special place for our family, and it’s all because of the people who make it what it is. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

- Connector825543 (2/5): Bummer room. No reply for refund request - My wife had a fine experience here a few years ago. So we came to an event using my Hyatt points. We understood 1. with points you don't get the best room 2. the hotel has many fire victims staying long term.
But that does not excuse the room we were given, with a drop in floor from room into bathroom (dangerous for older folks). And the room was tired. But by far the worst part of the experience was that just before we were going to the event we came to town for, I took a bath. And the bathtub would not drain. So my wife was forced to take her shower while standing in my dirty bathwater. Gross right. you'd think the hotel or Hyatt would give us our requested one night's worth of points back. (They gave me a token # of points for the pool not being available). But on this issue they ghosted me. Never going back to Avalon. And my respect for Hyatt has plummeted.

Everyone who helped us was so friendly & helpful! And special shout out to Eunice who was able to get us an early check in & Jeremy who helped us with our bikes.
Chris the Valet was really great too!
Thanks also to Carlo, Maribel & Torie.
We really loved our short stay, the fabulous pool & riding around Beverly Hills on the cute bikes.i wish we could have stayed longer.
We will be back!
- Shane (10/5): Excellent crew and nice details - The staff was all extremely friendly, helpful, efficient and accommodating. Kudos to the team.
- 865mindyg (10/5): GREAT experience tip to tail at Avalon BH - The Avalon was a great hotel! The service was particularly notable--front desk was so attentive and helpful, the customer service was top notch--especially Carlo, Jeremy and Eunice. They made us feel at home, especially when we came back from a medical procedure--they made sure everything was super comfortable. The FOOD was the biggest surprise at the restaurant. I never think hotel food is going to be much to write home about but everything was delicious and a great presentation. I had the green power salad, the kale salad (2x!) and added salmon which was cooked to perfection. My son had the burger and said it was fantastic. Jason in the dining room always made me my morning americano quickly and it was delivered with a smile!

- leslief925 (10/5): Our stay at the Avalon Beverly Hills hotel - My family and I have been coming to the Avalon Hotel Beverly Hills for the last 15 years and each year our stay just gets better and better. In our collective, family's view, it exceed all expectations be it for service, affability of the staff or the service either at the front desk or the restaurant. Cleanliness and the ambiance are the hallmarkof this hotel.
For us it is a "home away from home" to great degree due to the front desk staff namely Martin, Eunice, Jeremy, Hudith and Carlo among others, and to a large degree the restaurant attendants Farouk, Warner and Jason.
- rebecca (10/5): easy - food and service were excellent
- jameswJ6709ET (10/5): Hidden gem with attentive associates - Jermey, Carlo, and Emerson consistently make my visit to the Avalon Hotel magical.
I travel often for work and am always looking for my stay. The team is very attentive, warm, and welcoming! The beds are by far the best hotel beds I’ve stayed in. And the Vivian restaurant is magic ( the breakfast burrito and chicken club are a must-try).
I have many choices when staying in Beverly Hills, but the Avalon is my home away from home. #walkable # midcentury #Marriott
