Guest Reviews
- ianmR9392FZ (6/5): Overnight stay - A nice low budget hotel close to the station. Check in speedy. The room was a good size with ample storage for a short stay. Comfortable bed and good quality bedding. Small but clean bathroom. Tv and WiFi.
- maryse (10/5): - Near metro stations, restaurant groceries, wine and more!
- V3873YQtn (4/5): Good location, not so great hotel. - I’m here now. Room is small. No refrigerator. No safe. The A/C is useless. Have to open the window at night just for air. Now can’t sleep for the noise. Barely room for luggage and very little space to hang clothes. No coffee in your room. And you can only get more than one cup of ice for your room if you ask a nice person. I will never recommend or come back! I will give it a good review for location.
- D107LEkathleenr (2/5): Convenient stay, disappointing experience - We didn’t have a good experience at this hotel. We booked two triple rooms, but the extra beds weren’t ready in either of them. After going back and forth to reception a few times (luggage and all!) and getting keys to new rooms, one of them still wasn’t prepared and a staff member had to make the bed himself. It was nice of him to step in, but honestly it was inconvenient for us as guests, especially since it shouldn’t have been a surprise that we would be arriving.
On top of that, we noticed a perfume was no longer in the room on the second-to-last day (it had been used earlier that day). It was in its box and bag, and we only realized on checkout day. When we told reception, there wasn’t much effort to resolve it, just a business card and the suggestion that it might have been accessed via the connected room, since we were told "this has never happened before". That explanation was worrying. We also found the connected rooms quite loud at night, as you could clearly hear the people talking next door. We have written an email to the hotel about the lost item and will wait to hear back.
The location is good and the breakfast staff were kind, but overall I wouldn’t stay here again. If you have to, avoid connected rooms and make sure to lock everything in your suitcase (there were no safes in our rooms).
- Helen (10/5): - Easy location. Breakfast was great.
- Jason (10/5): - Awesome hotel, great services and excellently located.
- Lindsay (10/5): - The property was very central and close to Gare de Lyon. The staff were warm and friendly and the breakfast was delicious.
- 1-Muddy_boots (4/5): Disappointing Service for a Basic Request - Stayed for 3 nights and had trouble sleeping — only 3 pillows provided for two people. On the first morning, we made a simple and reasonable request at reception for an extra pillow. They assured us it would be taken care of. Unfortunately, that promise was not kept. We were later told that because the hotel was "full," they couldn’t provide even one additional pillow.
Frankly, that’s hard to accept. With all the Ibis hotels across Paris, you'd expect better basic hospitality — and definitely for promises made to be kept. Disappointed with the lack of follow-through on such a small but important detail.
- Farhana (8/5): - Convenient location, but rooms are very small.
- Christa (4/5): - There was one front desk staff who was really good and friendly… the rest were ok. Hotel was a good location.
Our room literally had the bathroom power outlet duct taped to the wall with wires hanging out. When we returned in the evening there was no power at all to our room. We did change rooms once I asked for a change but the staff didn’t offer it despite not having power.
Overall, it’s rate it as not bad. Second room was fine so if that was our first experience the hotel would have received a higher score
- Heath (6/5): - Good location, nice room
- Pierce (6/5): - Hotel
- Paul (8/5): Met my needs; recommended - The stay was very pleasant; met my needs and expectations in all respects
- Tina (10/5): Great stay - The staff could not have been nicer 100%
Room clean and comfort the little garden area was excellent thankyou for a great stay
- Xiaoxi (8/5): - Location is great
- RoMiHevi (8/5): Very good, near Gare de Lyon - Ideally located, the hotel has big rooms by Paris standards and an excellent breakfast buffet. The staff is very professional and courteous, always trying to be helpful.
The cleaning of the rooms can be improved. In my room, in particular, there was a smell of putrid water (in the room, not in the bathroom).
The free coffee and water in the lobby are something really appreciated.
- VEDA (10/5): - 1. Breakfast was excellent
2. The staff were very friendly and helpful
3. Clean rooms with nice hot water
4. We stayed 4 nights. All but one day the room was cleaned and beds were made
Chambre propre, lit confortable. Chambre bien chauffée.
Personnel à la réception très professionnel, souriant et serviable.
Je recommande.
- Risinghurst_Rover (10/5): Quiet (on the courtyard side), comfortable, good location - We asked for a room on the quieter courtyard side, and were allocated one of the ground floor rooms that opens directly on to the yard. Very quiet, large, comfortable room with a very good bed and a generously sized shower. Clean and well cared for. Good cooked breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff. 10 minutes walk to the Gate de Lyon. Excellent all round.
- Rachel (10/5): - We arrived and our room was ready, check-in was easy, we got good recommendations from the front desk for local restaurants, everything was as it should be. maybe the bathroom could do with a bit of refreshment, the housekeeper sometimes changed the towels and left cups, etc, but sometimes not, so a quick call to the desk got what we needed. the beds were comfortable, the window opened (!) to the morning blackbird chorus and everything worked well.
- Sarah (8/5): Room stay - It was good S my room is located at level 1- garden area. .
Quiet and comfortable
- Alberto (8/5): - Perfect hotel if you are planning to stay out and about during your time in Paris.
- Wu (8/5): Average - We checked in late and was given a super far end room on the 1st floor. Service is average. Hot water and coffee have to take from the kitchen beside the reception area.
- Romi (8/5): - Helpful staff
- Tenzin (8/5): - Clean and good breakfast, friendly staffs and rooms are very small high priced.
- Eusebio (8/5): - Apart for being small for 3 pax the property was worth the price.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I like everything
- G (8/5): - Basic budget hotel. Rooms are good size for Paris, clean but perhaps a bit dated. Breakfast is good, but does get busy. Location is ok, market round the corner 8min walk to stations and 13 min to Bastille area ( which has good restaurants and cafes)
- Andy (8/5): - Excellent location and most of the staff are nice. Only thing that my room air conditioner not working. Took them a few hours to change my room. Overall it’s a good hotel
- Wimv922 (8/5): Good hotel with easy walk to Gare de Lyon - Booked 2 rooms for 2 nights and emailed them before arrival to ask if we could get 2 rooms next to each other as we travelled with a group of 6. When we arrived just before midnight we checked in efficiently and got 2 rooms on the 2nd floor. Beds were good, room was clean and the overall experience was fine. The room is not big but that’s inherent to being in the center of Paris. The room did not have a fridge so we stored the medicine of our daughter in the fridge of the reception. The crew there was always helpful. We did not use the breakfast as it was too expensive for the 6 of us but around the corner (walk outside to the left and again left at the corner) there is a Carrefour Express and in the street towards the station a nice bakery so good alternatives. The hotel is at walking distance from Gare de Lyon and when we walked to the hotel at midnight it was absolutely safe. When we checked out we used the lockers to store our luggage, to pay with coins. The best of this hotel is that it’s so close to Gare de Lyon from where you can take trains and metro’s.
- Mostafa (10/5): - excellent
- B3698YPmias (2/5): Worst experience ever!! - Worst experience ever, we needed a room at 1am in the morning because our previous hotel had some issues and canceled our booking. Ibis charged us 300 EUROS for ONE night in a SMALL and DIRTY room with one bed and one sofa-bed without sheet! Completely robbed us and we couldn’t do otherwise because we were in the middle of the streets at night. Never happened to end up in such a dishonest hotel just because of the olympic event. NEVER AGAIN definitely wouldn’t recommend.
- OMAR (8/5): - This hotel has a good location. Their staff is nice.
- Michael (8/5): - Good location to two metro stations, one being Gare de Lyon where we could catch trains for day trips. Close to plenty of good restaurants. Felt safe no matter what time of day we came in and out. Only complaint was that the AC wasn’t working, but the nights were cold enough that we left the windows open all night it was just fine.
- Sarah (8/5): Good hotel, but check on construction dates - Comfortable, updated hotel in a great location. Only hiccup was the extremely loud construction work happening on our floor at check-in. Ran back down to reception, who assured me they'd be done in 10 mins, which they were. We only stayed one night, and there was no work on Sunday, but it would have been miserable to be in one's room during the 9:00-5:00 construction hours. Suggest checking with hotel to confirm completion plans before booking. Otherwise, reception staff were friendly, rooms were bright but basic, nice garden out back, excellent cafe next door. Breakfast not included, which was disappointing. Would stay again once they finish the remodel.
- Hardik (6/5): - Rooms with 3 bed were ok with limited space for bags. AC was not working and bathroom sink were clogged. Ok for short stay. We booked since it was walkable to gare de Lyon.
- Pert (8/5): - The room is tight for three persons
- lorna_rachel (10/5): Great hotel with great transport links! And thankyou to Jean Marc too! - Currently staying here, tonight is our second out of three nights for me and my sister. Pleased to say that we’re very glad we booked this hotel! Everything you could need is close in the area, lots of nice restaurants and bars are close, so are shops and transport links to easily get to the main attractions in Paris. Staff at the hotel are friendly, rooms are clean and spacious and there’s a good continental breakfast too! Also Jean Marc (I’m sure this was his name) on the evening who served me pizza couldn’t have been kinder and more attentive; what a lovely man! So would also definitely like to give him a deserved shout out of appreciation too!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Ce sondage est-il dispo en Français?
Mon séjour était très agréable!
Parcontre j’ai été surprise de voir que l’hôtel charge 7euros pour un simple appel pour un taxi…?!!
- Deborah (10/5): - Although the room was small, there was plenty of storage space and shelf space. It was clean, comfortable and modern.
- Elena (10/5): - Great hotel, great location. Friendly staff.
- Elena (10/5): - Great location, easy access to public transport. Very nice staff and great food.
- the_paro_mita (10/5): Good experience - The best thing about this hotel is its location. It is so close to the station! And the road to the station is lined with restaurants and shops. While the area is a little expensive, the advantage is unbeatable. We chose this hotel because we need to visit the station many time for travelling to different places from Disneyland to Switzerland.
The room was small and there was no space left with an extra bed for our child. However, I do understand that a huge room is not possible within the city if you are not willing to spend a bom on your accommodation. The staff were warm and friendly.
- Lilian (8/5): - Staff are very helpful and friendly.
- Dean (10/5): Appealing central hotel - Good location, near centre with easy connections, and underground parking. Good standard of IBIS, no complaints. Friendly helpful staff. Good nearby classic French Bistros.
- Jan Daphne (10/5): - Super clean. Staff friendly and helpful
- Andrew (10/5): Nice hotel - Very nice hotel. Near some nice restaurants. Close to a metro spot. You can get anywhere from that station.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Reasonable price, 3 blocks from Gare de Lyon train station, clean, basic (no mini fridge, no room safe), slightly far from most tourist attractions.
- Diana (6/5): Okay but in our opinion not value for money - Only an overnight stop without taking breakfast. All okay, but disappointed the room was not better for the price we paid.
Basic room with no tea or coffee making facilities in the room. We stayed in another hotel in a different French city afterwards which was far superior for half the price.
I assume the high price is probably just due to it being in Paris.
We wouldn’t want to stay there longer than one night.
- Helene (8/5): Conveniently located hotel neat Gare de Lyon. - Nice convenient, clean and comfortable hotel near Gare de Lyon and close to Gare d'Austerlitz.
- CHARLENE (6/5): - Love the location of property. Very convenient n 7-8 min walk to 3 different metro stops. However, I booked this knowing it listed that it had A/C since I am there late June. I asked to fix the barely working A/C on a Friday afternoon but was told that the repair man was done for the day and won’t come back til Monday. I call BS on this. This is a big chain hotel and impossible there’s no one at hand (if not for 24hrs) during the weekends. So sleeping at night was an issue since we have to keep the windows open and let the cool air and the noise from the bars downstairs in. Whomp.
- Kevin (8/5): - We struggled to find the hotel initially but it was actually a very short distance from Gare Du Lyon. It is a basic hotel but clean, tidy and comfortable with frindly helpful staff. If I was overnighting in Paris again would I use this hotel ? Definitely.
- Sandra (10/5): - Good
- M Yvette (8/5): Comfy and convenient - My friend and I enjoyed a comfortable stay here. The train station is only a short walk away from the hotel and Ledru Rollin 12eme is a nice neighbourhood. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The room was nice and cosy, but would have been nicer if there was a twin bed option during the booking process and a water kettle in the room for coffee, tea, etc. But in hindsight, maybe it's intended that way for guests to enjoy coffee or tea at the lobby or any outside cafe.
- Jon (10/5): - This was a lovely property, convenient to so many things from the train station to the sights of Place De Bastille, the Marais neighborhood and Place De Vosges. The staff are very kind and attentive. We enjoyed our stay here.
- Helen (10/5): - Excellent hotel in lovely area.
- jane (8/5): - Very convenient, also surprisingly quiet. But our double room was very small.
- Judith (10/5): - Our stay was short but very convenient and the staff was extremely helpful.
- Déborah (8/5): - On a apprécié le calme et le positionnement de la chambre (au rdc près de la cour intérieure)
Chambre propre
Petit déjeuner simple et suffisant
Personnel très sympa
Un service bagagerie (payant) pratique
Un bon ratio qualité prix
- Dervla (10/5): - Never written a review before but had to for this hotel. Booked last minute and couldn’t be happier with the decision. Staff went above and beyond and were highly accommodating for our stay, they were polite, attentive, friendly and helpful. Offered reccomendations for restaurants based on our preferences and assisted us with travel directions to get around the city. The hotel is just outside of paris city centre but is surrounded by everything you would need for a fraction of the price and with less people! 10/10 reccomend and thank you to the staff for making our stay so enjoyable.
- Aleksandra (8/5): - The place was ok. Had basic accommodations, nothing too fancy. But it was clean and the staff was nice. It was also close to the train station. Not that many restaurants in the area. The shower was the biggest issue. The shower head just wouldn’t stay put so we had to hand hold it to shower.
- Marie-Cecile (8/5): One night in Paris - The staff was very nice. Check in was a breeze. This is an older hotel. It was clean. The breakfast was good. I can only go by my room but the front of the toilet was about 18” from the wall. So if you need help or grab bars there are none. This stay worked well for my needs
- Nicolas (10/5): - .
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Clean rooms, good location, uncomfortable beds, unfriendly staff at reception.
- Eddy (8/5): - Good service. Parking insidd hotel which is very practical in Paris. Good location. Nice hotel with garden.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good cost benefit - Good cost benefit
Near the bastille
- Samuel Vijay (10/5): Nice Hotel in a nice location - The location of this hotel is spectacular and the size of the rooms are bigger than the normal paris hotels, which is a big plus. There are lot of restaurants close to it and Gare De Lyon station is only about a 10 min walk.
- Patrick (10/5): Nice hotel - I have been staying in this hotel years ago and I feel like the standard has been lifted.
Very nice and friendly staff.
rooms were clean.
The breakfast variety of choices was wild enough.
Very close to gare de lyon.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I liked how I was able to extend my stay after reserving through Orbitz. Not sure why a lady told me to come extend the day of check-out, but I didn't listen and booked again in the internet to be sure there was room and get a better price. Didn't like to pay for a hot chocolate from the machine that's always there, it could be free, but its Paris.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Three days stay in Paris - The hotel was very comfortable and in a good location. Very friendly and room was very clean. In the area there are nice restaurants, which was very convenient.
- Dana (10/5): - Staff chaleureux… chambre très spacieuse et propre.
Fenêtres bien isolées et quartier tranquille :) à 5-6 mins de la gare.
- Aimee (10/5): - It is located near an important metro station. Breakfast is delicious.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Great location. Unfriendly staff at check-in. Room is average. Good price
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Bed uncomfortable and shower blocked.
- Vicki (10/5): - The people were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great! My room was clean and comfy. No complaints. Also nice to be so close to Gare de Lyon.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - In the business part of the city, so it was nice and quite. I would definitely stay here again.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Good location near to Gare de Lyon and walkable distance to several point of interest.
We didn't like kitchen staff was rude, impolite and not customer service oriented.
Room cleaning team were not doing good job and toilet was poorly clean on the second day. Also towels were not replaced for a group of 3 people.
Communication channel between Reception and Room Service Cleaning Team is poor and there is a lack of quality control on comments, suggestions and requests from customers.
Breakfast Buffet is excellent but near and after 10:00am many different items were finished and were not replaced.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Location was good - very central and near many of the Paris sights
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The breakfast was special
- Margaret (8/5): - Clean and friendly staff. Good location to metro
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Get lost on finding the hotel the first time. My GPS lead me to another Ibis Paris Gare de Lyon hotel near the train station. The staff there guided me to this hotel.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - We actually didn’t get to stay at the hotel because when we arrived the gentleman at the front desk told us that our room didn’t have electricity so they were sending us to a nearby hotel, at no extra cost.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Excellent location, good breakfast, friendly staff.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Excellent location. Helpful staff. English speakers at front desk. Luggage storage for a fee. Good breakfast selection
- heather (10/5): A Winner!! - Lovely hotel. Very clean, comfortable and well- situated. Excellent service from the front desk staff. We will be back again!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Close to station quiet location - Lots of noise from other rooms above.we were on first floor.would suggest high as possible. Good for one night stop.
- Felix (8/5): - We had a pleasant stay overall. The first day was a little rough as they were renovating the room across from ours and the workers had the doors open while using the machinery, not the best when you just got off an 8 hour flight and want to sleep. Other than that, the stay was good; we were out most of the days so we were not bothered by the noise. The location is good, 2 metro stations each within a 10 minute walk which was convenient. The breakfast buffet was worth the money, tasty and filling. The staff were pleasant and always helpful. Overall we enjoyed our stay.
- Lena (10/5): - This is not a luxury hotel but very practical. With the price we paid and the location, I give it 5 star!
cons you should know: no shampoo, hair conditioner, no wash towel, no electric kettle, no ceramic or glass cups
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Not close to attractions, spent a lot of time commuting but area of hotel was safe and quiet
- paul (6/5): Very basic - One towel per person, clean, good location, quiet but limited one hanger for clothes one towel per person nothing else re comfort.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good for the money - Hotel is well located for close to the Gare de Lyon. Our room was in the garden and very quiet. Staff was Friendly. Nice breakfast and cheap compare to certain hotels.
- Ben (10/5): - We were there the night France won the World Cup. Everyone was nice and helpful and Joyful
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The hotel was clean. The appearance of the room was very contemporary. The staff was really friendly.
- Alistair (8/5): Perfect city location - Perfect place to stay to see Paris, close enough to walk or get the tube to everywhere.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The only pkus point for this hotel was its location.
Rooms are too too small and everything is done in a very economic way! Too cheap!
-We had two colours curtains !
-The wood partition under the shower was broken and sticking out.
-There is no bin in the room! ( apparantly this is ibis style!)
- The little bin in the toulet had no lining!
- A tube of whatever yoy call it , used as face wash + hand wash + shower Gel !!
- You need to pay €20 deposit if you want a kettle and tea/coffee in yoyr room !! ( is in't this a basic facility!?)
- Bedding are so cheap , ther is no mattress! Only a mattress topoer on top of a divan bed frame! and pillows are not comfortable.
- Cleaners didn't change the bed sheets ! So next day I had to remove them and force them to do so!
- No hand towel! If you request it, then maybe they provide another barh towel! Happy days!
- Floors are not clean and don't get cleaned properly.. you can see dust and dirt around all furnitures legs.
Overall so so disappointed ! Waste of money ! Kind of ruined our Paris experience! :-(
Never ever again we will stay in ibis!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice Hotel - We had a good stay here, the one thing that could be different is that we had to pay for luggage storage even though we were staying the night there, its in a good location, nice and clean room:)
- Matt (8/5): Conveniently located hotel to the sights - Stayed two nights over the weekend while traveling between business meetings. Great location and convenient walking distance to all of the major sights. Small rooms compared to US, but that’s Europe in general. Good breakfast in the AM. Overall good experience
- CarlosDB (8/5): Nice Hotel, very close to Metro station - The Hotel is very nice, breakfast buffete is good, location is excellent, 5 minutes walking to Metro station, area is safe for walking even during night ( lot of restaurants on the area) you can find pharmacy and markets around there in case you need some extras, if you like to walk you can do it to Notredame (20 minutes) and Bastille (5 minutes), I recommend it.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Well connected - good location - Great base location for site seeing in Paris. Comfortable rooms, friendly staff.
