Guest Reviews
- Andrea (10/5): - WiFi was reliable and it was located in a great vibrant and safe neighborhood. Lots of great local genes nearby and very close to multiple metro stations.
- John (10/5): - In a lovely and interesting area easy to get everywhere in the city. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
- CAROLYNN (10/5): - Rooms and dining area were clean, staff friendly
Good location with lots of restaurants near by
- Megan (10/5): - Lovely staff, not too far from metro, comfortable bed
- Elicia (10/5): - Joshua was very helpful at the front desk.
- Elisa (10/5): - Great location and super Clean
- Wendy (8/5): - Arriving at the hotel, the welcoming floral fragrance is matched by a well decorated lobby full of foliage and flowers.
The staff were so helpful, when our keys did not initially work they swiftly sorted the issue. Housekeeping was excellent, unobtrusive but effective.
The hotel is basic, and our room was small, with an ensuite best suited to small people! It was a little tired, with small details of skirting board missing. However, for the money, good value, we would return.
The breakfast was amazing and good value. The bread and cheese is always sure to satisfy, let alone the fruit, museli and breakfast cereals, the eggs and sausages...
The only slight shocker was the price of parking - only because we stayed for four nights - 140 euros. Not outrageous when you compare it to parking in London!
- Dragan (6/5): Great location for exploring Paris - Veey small room with a small bathroom/shower. A weak air-conditioning unit inadequate to cool down the room to a comfortable temperature. Great location!
- Phillip (10/5): - Love all the plants
- Zak (4/5): They don’t clean the room as it should be - They don’t clean the room as it should be
- Zak (6/5): Nice location - Nice location, nice lobby, friendly staff
- Elisa (10/5): - Such a great area for everything at your doorstep.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Well located and well presented hotel - Hotel is very nicely presented and is excellently positioned with 3 different metro lines within a few minutes walk.
Rooms aren't huge but they are big enough and generally quite comfortable although beds arent the most comfortable. I was especially impressed though at how little noise there was in the hotel.
We also used the hotel bar and restaurant a few times and staff, service, and product there were great. So great if you appreciate having something convenient for after a long day.
- Alexandra (10/5): - Lovely property and conveniently located with underground parking. Fabulous staff who go over and above to help. Left my laptop in the room on checkout and only realised when I got home to the UK. Staff sent it to me within 24 hours.. very happy
- Stephanie (8/5): - Room was small, even for European standards.
- Bethan (8/5): - Great affordable stay, comfortable bed, fab location
- Verified traveler (6/5): - I’ve stayed at several Ibis hotels before, but this one had the smallest room by far. There wasn’t enough space to comfortably open our suitcases or move around, which was quite inconvenient. Thankfully, we were moved to a larger room, which made a big difference!
One major downside was the TV casting feature. It was difficult to use, and we had to call reception twice because it wasn’t working. This was particularly frustrating on a rainy evening when we had planned to stay in and watch something. Unfortunately, one staff member didn’t seem too concerned about resolving the issue, which was disappointing.
On a positive note, the location of the hotel is fantastic – surrounded by great local eateries, coffee shops, and supermarkets. The shower, however, was hit or miss – especially in the evenings when it struggled to stay consistently warm.
Overall, while the staff were friendly for the most part and the area was lovely, the room size and technical issues and room size did affect our experience.
- MICHAEL (6/5): - Convenient location. Shower room too small. Room not cleaned on penultimate day.
- fabrice (8/5): B - Nice hotel
Great location
Silly they only supply tiny towels in the bathroom
- Zak (6/5): - Small room, tiny bathroom, ac dosent work, noisy street.
- CHRISTINE (10/5): Clean and well designed. - I like staying at this Ibis as when it was remodeled they put in vinyl wood floors, several mirrors and shelving and hanging for clothes. Not a big room for one person but well designed. Easy to clean as well with no carpet in the room.
- RADIAN (6/5): - good location for a driver that stops to visit Paris for a few days. Staff is unpolite and not "volunteer" to give info that you should know. They limit the number of towels per room but for 2 adults we had 1 hand, 1 face and 1 bath towels and we were scolded when we went to ask for more.
- Katrien (10/5): - The room was on the small side even for Europe, but love how quiet the hotel was. No banging doors or noise coming through. Comfortable beds and clean. Perfect for a few days Paris.
- Zak (6/5): - Nice location, air conditioning not working, nice lobby
- Lester (10/5): - great area.
- Pamela (6/5): - Room was very small. Area is amazing!
- JAMES (10/5): - Great property loved the neighborhood.
- kapil (10/5): - good stay. nice property. Room a bit tiny
- David (10/5): - Great
- Sebastian (8/5): - I general it was a good stay; I should book little closer to the center but there was nothing wrong with the area. Some Kitchen personnel need to understand that people who stay at the hotel pay big money to be there, we don't need to hear your excuses or faces when we ask for something. Even if it is 15 minutes after breakfast and all i wanted is the coffee form coffee machine and croissant from top of the counter because I saw it was there in tray. I don't understand why in such a big hotel everything right away has to be taken away, damn coffee machine can stay available and left over bakery food should be under glass to be taken later, people paid for it anyway. Just ridicules when I asked for a croissant and the young woman lifted the wooden tray and slammed it on top of the counter. She is getting paid for it either way, what is the damn problem. African French I found no issue with helpful and nice. Thank you!.
- corey (6/5): - I stayed 2 nights at this hotel. It’s a decent hotel and I would have given it a higher rating as it is quiet with a nice bed. However, the shower water fluctuated between freezing and scalding hot and the air conditioner didn’t work well, and I was sweating all night. Otherwise, a good stay.
- Danielle (10/5): - Great service and clean hotel. Staff was friendly and helped me even though I didn’t speak French
- Himanshi (2/5): - Paris was my final stop after visiting several other European destinations, and unfortunately, it turned out to be the most disappointing part of my trip—mainly due to the hotel experience.
The room was extremely cramped—there was barely any space to move around, and the bathroom was so tiny it was almost unusable. It felt suffocating staying there. The phone in the room wasn’t working, and despite informing the staff, no effort was made to fix it during my stay.
What made things worse was the attitude of the staff. They were unfriendly and unhelpful, which only added to the frustration. There were no basic facilities provided—no laundry bag, no locker, no iron. For a city like Paris, I expected a much better standard of hospitality.
Overall, it was a disappointing way to end what was otherwise a great trip across Europe. I won’t be returning to this hotel and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone traveling to Paris.
- Catherine (10/5): - Excellent stay
- Moises (10/5): - Decoration, friendly staff
- HYUNJIN (2/5): - The hotel and sevice were good enough.
However, Hotels.com and Ibis hotel booking system was broken. My reservation info was cannot found in Ibis system. So I had to wait for check in at place (even I checked in online) and check out (Ibis system cannot find my payment).
This seems hotels.com system failure, and I really thanks to Ibis staffs to help me and extra service on my stay.
- Brittany (10/5): - Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at Hotel ibis Paris Bastille Opéra 11ème. It’s just a 5-minute walk to public transport, with plenty of great places to eat and explore nearby. The plant-filled reception area gives off a warm, welcoming vibe, and while the room was simple, it was clean, comfortable, and just what we needed. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout. A solid, affordable option in a great Paris location.
- JEFFREY (6/5): fairly good - needs tweaks - Excellent position in the city, friendly staff. However a) breakfast frequently was a panic scenario as insufficient staff and items ran out quickly e.g. bananas b) despite the sign in the lift saying room temp 19C. the air con did not work - room temp recorded at 24C c) the plug drainage was exceedingly slow. I could comment on the small room size but Paris is Paris from experience. It might be worth a senior manager observing the flows at breakfast. The staff are under a lot of pressure as the number of guests exceeds ability to service.
- julio (10/5): - Excellent place.
- Julie (8/5): - Liked the location of the hotel, lots of cafes & restaurants close by as well as Metro stations & supermarkets, if needed.
Reception & bar area inside hotel great for lounging on wet days & staff very friendly & helpful throughout stay.
Bathrooms a lottle bit snug but overall, great place to stay for a few nights
- Alvaro (2/5): - They just changed towels every day, no linen change or even swiping the room.
- Miguelina (10/5): - Excellent
- Joohyoun (8/5): Nice stay - Nice staffs, metro stations and bus stops nearby, few nice restaurants/bakery/cafe around. Small room but clean and comfy. Slight sewer smell in the hallway but not in the room. No shampoo, no conditioner but body wash and liquid soap in the bathroom.
- Michael (8/5): - Property was close to subway. Good restaurants in the area. Easy walk to the Notre Dame.
Only downside was the shower is small.
- ian (6/5): - Mice infestation in the lobby
- STEPHANIE (6/5): - For the price the rooms and amenities all seamed very "budget". There was no fridge in the room, The towels were paper thin and we needed to ask for extras as they also didn't dry given the bathroom design. Also our shower soap ran out and wasn't refilled for 2 days. The rooms are VERY minimal but functional. The price should be lower given all of the above.
- Michaela (4/5): Not good. - Room was minimal and worn. No handtowels given, only shower towels. Alot of dust in the rolm and under the bed. Any slight overweight person would have difficulty moving around in the less then 0,5 m2 shower. We tried ordering a drink in the hotel bar. Waited 15 min to get server/ bartenders attn, finally walked up to her and ordered. Waited another 10 min for the order while she served others. Walked up again and got the reply that her shift is over now. New server starts pouring our drinks but ends up going to help another customer pay their bill instead. We finally walked out after 30 min and no service.
- Daniel (10/5): - Good location near Marais and Bastille, clean and functional hotel with typically small Parisian rooms. Have stayed twice and would stay again.
- Cerri (10/5): - Had a great stay at this hotel, amazing places to eat just down the road and really convenient to walk or catch the metro to see the sites of Paris.
Staff were amazing and very helpful!
- Tracy (10/5): - A bit small toilet but otherwise great
- Danielle (8/5): - Great overall experience but I was required to “check in” 24 hours before arriving but this meant nothing aside from holding my reservation that was already paid for. Then the bathrooms in the lobby were not clearly gendered and one of their staff was rude when I ended up being in the men’s bathroom when I am a CIS female. Before check out I asked at the front desk the process for early check out and was told someone is at the front desk 24/7 and they could get a cab for me. No one was at the desk and I had to go find them on the phone in the back after several minutes of attempt to get their attention. Then I was told I didn’t need to speak to anyone to check out, I just leave my key in the drop box. The mixed message was frustrating. The person acted like I was bothering him and I didn’t get a cab called because at that point I was frustrated with how he was responding to my interrupting him and this was at 4:30 in the morning.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Double charged for stay via hotels.com and hotel - Hi - I was double charged for this stay. I paid via hotels.com and have a receipt to show it and then upon check in was asked to pay again by the hotel who wouldn't let me check in until I paid. Can someone from Hotels.com please contact the hotel and help me sort this out?
- Debra (10/5): - This hotel is clean, colorful and plays great music in the lobby. Nice breakfast selections. The bed mattress and linens are dreamy. The staff are friendly and helpful. The location is very convenient to the metro Bastille or for walking. I walked all over Paris from the hotel. There is a huge Bastille Famer’s market twice a week, one block away. One of my favorite things about this location! So many parks and landmarks within an easy walk. Pere Lachaise is only 30 minutes away. This will be my go to hotel in Paris from now on.
- lily rose (2/5): Horrible - Worst stay in Paris by far
- Debora (10/5): - Clean
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The location of the hotel is great for the price. Close to Gare Lyon and Metro. The neighborhood has an excellent selection of restaurants and bars. The hotel is clean and the staff friendly and approachable.
The only compliant is that the truck loading the hotel's laundry does this at 1AM! You can hear the entire 30 mins exercise from my 2nd floor room...
- Pei (8/5): - Room is very small and amenity such as bottled water, cups, coffee bags and maker that are very standard in North America are lacking.
- Pei (8/5): - The only things I want to criticize are "rooms are tiny", "lack of amenity" such as no bottle water provided, no instant coffee pack, no coffee maker you can boil water to drink.
- YUKI (8/5): - レピュビュリック広場から近く、マレまでも歩いていける距離なので最適でした。
- Genevieve (6/5): - This Ibis is in a quieter neighborhood in Paris. Wish there was breakfast included, and the space in the room was EXTREMELY limited (good luck if you have more than a small backpack). But it was very convenient to shops and seeing what we wanted to see.
- erik (8/5): - Nice hotel, very conveniently located close to underground
Nice breakfast
- Peter (8/5): - Great location for access to non-touristy parts of Paris as well as the more heavily trafficked but classic parts of the city. Hotel room was quite small but adequate.
- Annie (8/5): - Great location, close to metro. Lots of food options and near Sunday Farmers market. Room was small but adequate. Sink had slow drainage, and the shower doors had gaps in it so water got everywhere. We found a silverfish bug under the bed.
- John (10/5): - Great location, underground car park and very friendly staff. All good.
- Thomas (10/5): - Very clean & easy-to-get-to hotel, with many mouth watering patisserie’s nearby
- Tracy (10/5): - Stayed 5 nights and this is a very attractive, well-located, clean hotel. The staff is terrific and i mean the front desk staff, the bartenders and wait staff and the cleaning staff! All of them were very friendly and so helpful with directions and recommendations. There are multiple metro stations near-by to get anywhere in and around Paris. Plenty of restaurants and bars including a great italian place, boulangerie and grocery store across the street. I would absolutely stay here again.
- Mathew (10/5): Great staff, wish rooms were quieter - Super useful friendly staff. Reception is filled with actual plants which was surprisingly relaxing. Rooms are noisy though. Could hear a dog in the early hours of the morning in a room nearby. Anyone closing a door on my floor seemed to slam my door through pressure.
- Delaney (8/5): - Very clean room with nice staff. Area is very accessible by transit and by walking with many restaurants nearby. Felt very safe. Only complaint is that the rooms get very hot at night. Would stay again!
- bernard (8/5): - Quartier agréable, excellent petit déjeuner-buffet, literie confortable.
Cependant, nous aurions apprécié un essuie-mains en complément des serviettes pour le corps.
- Neale (10/5): - Have stayed here several times. Has an underground car park which is useful and safe. Five minutes walk from Bastille Metro and lots of fabulous bars and restaurants. Staff and hotel absolutely fantastic. Cannot fault it at all.
- CHRISTINE (10/5): - This is my second review! I think that the renovations to the room here are just great and all Ibis hotels should have vinyl flooring that looks like wood. Lots of shelving and hanging for clothes. Just a great place to stay while in Paris as so close to the Metro. This is at least my fourth time staying here over the years as it easy to get from Gare de Nord. I am from Canada.
- Christine (8/5): - The hotel is very conveniently positioned to the metro. The reception staff handled our check in efficiently and also recommended a good place to eat and helped with other enquiries. They were very friendly.
At the end of our stay we were able to leave our luggage in the lockers at reception and return for them later.
The room is small and the twin beds are completely together. The bathroom is tiny. BUT the room and bathroom is very clean and cleaned everyday. The shower is efficient. There is a hairdrier and shower/hand wash. The towels are large and soft. There are no drawers and a small area with hangers. The room was quiet. We didn’t use the TV but it’s nice and large. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.
- Annette (10/5): - This hotel was recommended to us by our daughter. it was an excellent choice. Everyone was very friendly. The rooms were super clean and it was a very reasonably priced. we definitely would stay there again and would highly recommend it to everyone we know.
- Gareth (8/5): - Nice property, good access to transport links. 40mins on the train/metro from CDG airport.
Would recommend to anyone looking for a reasonably priced hotel in the centre of Paris.
- Melissa (6/5): - A decent part of the city with cafes around and a restaurant on site. Availability of breakfast was nice.
- Andrew (8/5): - Love all the plants in the foyer, like walking into a greenhouse. The rooms are quite small, as others have noted, but we found our room comfortable, clean, quiet and ideal for a two night stay. The staff were efficient and friendly and we thought the breakfast was good value for money.
- Brenda (10/5): - Perfect location with plenty of options for eating and good transportation links to city attractions. Beautifull decor. Perfect
- Sj (10/5): - Fantastic spot, central to lots of touristy things. Highly recommend, good price as well.
- David (4/5): Great hotel but had some issues - Air con broke so was too hot to sleep for 3 days. Struggled to connect to the Wi-Fi. Bed was extremely soft so we got backache. No English speaking tv channels.
Plus points - ground floor and bar were really nice. Nice breakfast, great location, friendly staff.
Sadly the first part spoiled our stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great hotel in a great area - My wife and I stayed there for 7 nights and it was great, very well located near several metro stations, restaurants, supermarkets and pharmacies. The breakfast was nice and the room was spotless everyday. Friendly staff and nice amenities.
- Talat (8/5): - Friendly helpful staff. Quiet location, close dinings, groceries and laundry. We wished coffee and tea were available in the lounge outside breakfast time for free or simple fees.
- Brent (6/5): Overpriced - The hotel was fine, except for one unpleasant situation with sheets that were newly changed and were stained.
The real issue is the quality-price equation: it is really overpriced for what it is. The rooms are very small with unappealing views, there are no toiletries except for a "multi-purpose" body wash attached to the shower, etc.
You can find better rooms in Paris for the same price.
- Sergio (6/5): - A/C does not cool enough. Bathroom is too tight. No International electrical receptacles
- Merike (10/5): - The lobby and cafeteria area feels warm, friendly and welcoming. It was a good place to meet up with friends or with iPhone stuff -- no one rushed you or made you feel out of place.
- Oscar (10/5): - Perfect access to transport to see Paris attractions.
- Francisco (8/5): - The staff was helpful and welcoming. The place was attractive, comfy and cozy. The food was amazing.
- Mark (8/5): 3 nights in paris - We had half board - the food and service were great.
Beds comfortable and rooms clean.
Shower is small.
Main issue is our shower flooded every time used - think leak on plumbing. Had to mop up with bath towel. Surely cleaning staff must report this.
- Michael (10/5): Great Stay - Perfect location and great environment
- KRISHNA (10/5): Loved our stay! - Had a lovely stay here! The staff are friendly, the room was perfect. Modern and clean, loved the vibe of the hotel with the greenery. In a great location with close access to the metro. Would love to come back!
- Matthew (8/5): - Rooms small but efficient. Good location and everything you need close by, metro station conveniently a few minutes walk away.
- Amy (10/5): C'est bon hôtel - In the heart of Bastille, a 5 minute walk to Opera Bastille and the wonderful marché on Thursday and Sunday. Bréguet metro station is also very close. Clean friendly and great value.
- Alana (10/5): Great stay - We had such a great experience staying here. The whole lobby is full of plants which provides a wonderful atmosphere. There is a lot of space to hang out or work in the lobby and though the rooms aren't too big, they are big for Paris and are comfortable. It's in a fantastic location with loads of cafes, restaurants and shops with easy access to the metro. We didn't want to leave the neighbourhood. We'd definitely stay again.
- Melissa (10/5): - Beautiful area, great staff, room was small, but lovely. Loved all the plants and the vibe in the lobby. Very close to transit, food, and fun!
- Hallie (10/5): - Great place to stay in the middle of the Bastille. Comfy bed and inexpensive wine at the bar
- Oluwaseyi (10/5): - Very central, good transport links, great staff and clean environment. Could definitely stay there again
- Stephen (10/5): Perfect - Excellent from start to finish lovely staff very relaxing hotel great location
- Melissa (8/5): - Great hotel for the price, clean and a really great area to stay in. Only complaint was that we didn’t feel only 2 towels for two people (no hand towels just bath towel each) wasn’t sufficient and the toilet paper was so thin we went through a roll in one day! Otherwise very good stay and would definitely return
- Timothy (8/5): Very good - The hotel was perfect for a business stay in Paris. The hotel, the staff and amenities were very good and also the location was great for my visit
- Emma (10/5): - Lovely hotel with great little bar. Rooms on the small side but that's always the case in Paris
- keith (8/5): - The room was quite small, and no amenities such as lockbox, refrigerator, or shampoo. However, the hotel and room were very clean, the bed was comfortable, and the facility generally quiet. The area was convenient - metro a short walk, and many dining options.
