Guest Reviews
- Jean-Pierre (9/5): - Klein aber original und sauber Zimmer
- yvonne (3/5): disappointing ! - my single room was so tiny that there was no room for my suitcase. I have stayed at Firmdale hotels a few times and I love all of my experiences except this one. I could not get to the bathroom without stepping over my suitcase.. room was ridiculously too small. If you are traveling with a big suitcase this room is not for you!
- 201allanj (10/5): First Class Hotel - Dorset Square Hotel is very close to Marylebone railway and tube station – and it’s only a 3-minute walk to Baker Street tube, so it’s very conveniently situated for all of the London attractions.
This first-class hotel is impressive, it’s been stunningly designed and has a unique cricket theme. Everywhere throughout the hotel is immaculately clean.
All of the staff were very friendly and helpful, the receptionist arranged for our luggage to be taken to our room earlier in the day and a different receptionist even took us to our room later on which was on the 3rd floor. We had a spacious luxury room and the bed was very comfortable.
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the excellent breakfast, the food was very good quality and cooked well, and the fresh fruit salad was the best we’ve ever had in a hotel.
All in all, it was a very special stay, we cannot recommend it highly enough.
- Duran (10/5): FANTÁSTICO - la ubicacion es ideal, el hotel no es muy grande, pero todo está impecable con muchissimo gusta. El personal encantador y siempre con muchos detalles
- susanbP7311MQ (10/5): A beautiful and charming visit - I absolutely love this place. Maybe because I got upgraded through a credit card program, but It exceeded my expectations. The amenities are luxurious and beautiful. I thought the design style of the hotel (color scheme, fabrics, dishes, etc) was especially charming. An effort was clearly made to have it a beautiful place that was lovingly designed.

- de Bruin (9/5): Wonderful stay, beautiful decor, small boutique hotel. Will be back! - Great breakfast, nice restaurant ambiance. Beautiful decorations everywhere by Kit Kemp's design, love it! Location close to Regents Park which is nice. Enjoyed the shared garden (old cricketgrounds). Great Sunday roast at restaurant, can recommend. Beautiful bedroom, very comfortable bed.
- Davina (10/5): Perfect - Excellent location, lovely friendly staff who would go above and beyond to help with anything. There was nothing that I didn’t like.
- Davina (10/5): Will return again in the future, excellent location, service and staff - Amazing Everyone and everything was perfect
- Markus (10/5): Ein rundum schönes Erlebnis! - Das Personal ist ausserordentlich aufmerksam.
- Christian (10/5): Torno con piacere ! Consigliata - Posizione eccellente , staff eccezionale . Colazione ottima !
- ALLAN (7/5): Staff are very helpful and professional but the rooms and bathrooms are very small. Beautiful decoration as expected o - Clean and beautiful presentation .Good restaurant.Staff tried to be helpful and accomodating . Great beds and sound proofing. Over priced and bedrooms and beds are small. Some bathrooms are just dangerous as door doesn’t open fully either way meaning you can get stuck in the cubicle . Closed the sitting room for carpet cleaning when we had told them we were needing it in the morning .
- Sergi (10/5): - Noisy room because of external heating devices
- almiskin (8/5): Dorset Square family stay - Upon walking into Dorset Square Hotel, The atmosphere and ambience is all the making of what you would expect from a Kit Kemp Firmdale group hotel with beautiful and stylish interiors, having a really charming cricket theme that gives the place a warm, distinctly British character. From the décor to the little details, it’s a fun and tasteful nod to the sport and Firmdale style which makes the hotel feel unique rather than generic.
The service was genuinely good throughout the stay – staff were friendly, helpful, and professional, which made a positive impression overall.
That said, there were a couple of issues worth mentioning. During the night, an alarm was flashing constantly through and noise from a fan in the TV was disturbing in the bedroom, it didn’t seem as though the room had been properly checked or followed up on, which was a bit unsettling.
In addition, room 3, lower ground where my family stayed was fairly noisy, with trains passing by regularly, so light sleepers may find it disruptive.
Overall, a stylish hotel with great service and a memorable theme, but some attention
to nighttime disturbances and noise levels would really improve the experience.
Thanks
Alexandra

- Nicola (10/5): Friendly staff, clean comfortable room. Short walk into Marylebone high st. The underground station a few steps along th - Very friendly hotel, a nice vibe with it being small Nothing
- Gianluca (9/5): -
- Arsalan (10/5): - Everything including location, staff, facilities etc. Nothing
- Kelly (9/5): Allways a pleasure to stay - It’s a Firmdale Hotel - what’s not to like.
- Marcela (9/5): - Everything so clean and so comfortable!!! Staff so nice and helpful! Room is very very tiny. The shower was so small that you almost couldn’t turn inside it
- Eveline (8/5): -
- Samantha (8/5): Excellent Location, lovely decor and extra touches, but still a little too pricey for us. - Loved the location, loved the fact the hotel is different to chains and the personal touches; the bed was super comfy, the sheets beautiful and spotlessly clean and clearly newly decorated. That said was still very pricy, despite little giveaways like hand cream and room spray... I also would prefer to have option of bath or shower, and only had shower, but this is a personal preference. Hotel was extremely accommodating of date changes, due to cancelled events for us, which I really appreciated. I balk at £350 per night, sorry! I don't think that it was worth more than some incredible hotel I have stayed in London that were under £300, with similar locations. And without breakfast included, we ended up paying an extra £52 for breakfast. I would definitely return if cheaper, not at price we paid.
- Ian (10/5): Very enjoyable stay. Great fan of Firmdale hotels. - Lovely rooms, very clean, great location and well priced. Nothing
- Barbara (8/5): -
- 602asifb (10/5): Excellent Service and Breakfast - Excellent service and Excellent Breakfast.
I went yesterday in Marylebone and incidentally discovered their Breakfast restaurant " The Potting Shed " .
First I saw the menu displayed outside of hotel and I walked inside and met two hotel Reception staff . They welcomed me with a gracious smile and informed me about their Breakfast dining room. They guided me to go outside of hotel and downstairs for breakfast.
My first impression already was the design and paintings , Portraits were amazing and eye catching.
I was welcomed by Ms Miran and she escorted me to a table . I realised I need a different table and she arranged a v nice round table as per my request in very timely manner . She was v attentive not only to my table but other guests as wel .
She also recommend me dishes as per my preference. Later I met Restaurant Manager Ms Giulia Roccon and she presented herself with great professionalism as well pride in her job .
I absolutely love these two staff who are warm , gracious , attentive and positive.
I congratulate Firmdale Hotel Management and Hr for hiring and retaining great talent.
I will be definitely coming with my Royal circle of friends and associates to this fine establishment .
On other note Breakast was amazing .
Porridge, mashed avocado with poached egg perfectly prepared and presented.
- Stephen (9/5): One thing…… the breakfast was great but they hardly ever got our order correct. I’m assuming that was down to the kitche - Loved the decor
- Anne (10/5): - Beautiful hotel; clean and comfortable Nothing to dislike
- Wishastry (8/5): Wonderful hotel! - The location is perfect for my stay, Baker street underground station is just 3 minutes away and there are lots of good shopping spots and fantastic restaurants in walking distance. The area of the hotel itself feels more residential than touristy, which to me is a big plus. It is clean and has a really cute interior design.
The room I got was quiet, well at least during my stay in the beginning of January which was perfect when most of the Christmas and new year’s crowd had left the city. All the staff that I had contact with were very helpful and polite. The superior room might feel a bit small and also the bed, my feet stick out a little and I’m just 168. But it didn’t bother me in particular.
- Heny (7/5): - Room too small
- nb333 (10/5): Beautiful boutique stay - Lovely boutique hotel in Marylebone area for our daughter’s wedding- very close to the town hall. Probably the nicest hotel I’ve stayed at in London. Beautifully furnished and in a good location. Hope to stay again one day.

- Alexandra (10/5): Ideally situated in London, it’s our treat twice a year to stay there! - Everytjing, as usual, the decor the architecture, a home from home N/A
- RCBLHKG (10/5): Our new residence when in London. Exceptional ! - Ideally located in tje heart of marylebone, Dorset square hotel is the very first Firmdale hotel, this incredible hotel brand created by the ultra talented Kit Kemp who has tje secret to make matching the unmatchable.
This townhouse had been closed for a while before to reborn as one of the most intimate and cozy place where to stay when in London. 38 keys, 38 little gems because Dorset Square Hotel is really like a jewelry box where each room tells a story as Kit, the designer and owner, loves to say. During our stay we absolutely loved to discover what was the story of our very amazing room 104 located on first floor and overlooking Dorset square. Hugh ceilings, great shame of colors mixing soft orange and soft green, a charming seating corner where to enjoy delicious in room breakfast and a beautiful light making you so comfy... comfy as well are beds and linens which is an other reason not wanted to go out and enjoy every second spent in this hotel. And just like in all other hotels of the brand, bathrooms and facilities plus amenities are excellent. What is always impressing us is this feeling to be the very first guests to stay in the room because only firmdale has the secret to push the maintenance and cleanliness at such a level, it looks pristine.
Same happiness in the so beautiful lounge where to enjoy a glass of bubbles from the honesty bar or in the more than beautiful restaurant and bar named The Potting Shed.
And to make everything even more enjoyable, the most adorable team ever managed by dynamic GM Luca and very friendly Deputy Andreas... definitely our new residence when in London.
- Lama (6/5): Be aware of extra charges - The staff is very nice. The place is clean. The location is convenient. They cleaning time wasn't reliable. They never added water in the room during cleaning and had to be asked every time. There is no elevator but they do help with your bags. There is only one room key even though the room is for 2 people, so you must share. The worst part is the extra charges. They claimed we used the bar even though we did not (they did remove these charges when i brought it to their attention) but during check-our they charged me more than 100 pounds for accommodation service... isn't that already what i paid for? The hotel is by no means cheap. I already spent 3 thousand pounds to stay in the hotel. Why is there an accumulating daily charge for service? It makes no sense. Obviously it should be already included within the price. That i did not appreciate and its why i wouldn't consider staying there again.

- Nettle85 (10/5): Wonderful Wedding Celebration - We held our wedding celebration dinner at the Potting Shed following our ceremony at the Old Marylebone Hotel, and stayed at the hotel for the weekend. From start to finish, everything was truly wonderful and we couldn't have been happier. During the planning stages, GM Luca kindly showed us around and talked through all options and during the execution, Giulia ran our evening perfectly. The setting was beautiful, the food was excellent - which is always tricky to achieve in larger groups, and service staff the perfect balance of attentive without intrusion. The combination of spaces in the bar and restaurant is ideal for the drinks reception and meal.
The proximity to the ceremony venue is fantastic for anyone considering this location, the hotel rooms are wonderful and spacious for all the pre-wedding prep activities and the breakfast delicious.
The event booking operates as a minimum spend rather than set packages and is incredibly good value for a luxurious central London hotel.
We could not be happier with how we were able to celebrate our wedding with our nearest and dearest at the Dorset Square Hotel.

- Andrew (10/5): Boutique luxury - Have stayed here several times and it remains one of my favourite hotels in this part of London. Highly personal, boutique luxury and outstanding service.
- Farah (7/5): Good but could have been better - Loved the vibe, the smell, cleanliness, location The internet was not stable, which is not normal in 2025. The worst thing was not having a coffee machine inside the room.
- alain (9/5): - Design and service
- Chris (10/5): -
- Shachar (1/5): Never recommend ! Choose any other Firmdale hotel - The design is nice and it was very clean. The staff was horrible, especially the hotel manager. They blamed me for a broken glass in the room and almost charged me 400£ for it.
- clairewO8987MX (10/5): Cannot recommend enough! - Wonderful hotel, service and staff amazing, location ideal! From arrival at reception to leaving the hotel we felt looked after by kind, attentive staff who really wanted to make our stay the best possible!
Room was beautiful, spacious, with an extremely comfortable bed. The area was very safe & quiet and the room had lots of lovely extras! The record player with the vinyl was a favourite of ours! We arrived to some surprises in the room as we were celebrating our anniversary and a birthday. Unexpected and perfect!
Food was amazing! We had breakfast every morning, a mix between the restaurant and room service. The quality of both was equal and exceptional. We had lunch also which was delicious and such a lovely setting. The hospitality in the restaurant was outstanding. Cannot thank Natasha enough for everything. She was very happy to recommend, make amendments to our orders and has a great memory. Cannot recommend enough. Amazing service!
Thank you Luca and team!

- ABDULLAH (10/5): Comfortable stay with excellent location. - Room, Service, Location, Breakfast. Amenities. Nothing.
- marcuselliottbrown (10/5): For once, a GREAT, gem of a hotel! - Love this hotel! I travel all the time for work so am super critical. To be honest, its a pleasure leaving a good review for a change. I find it hard to find fault in this hotel! The design, decor and details are superb. The staff are detailed, professional and welcoming. The restaurant is quaint, the food delicous and ambiance excellent. Like all London hotels the rooms over looking the front or side are best. It's not the cheapest but you get what you pay for and in my opinion, the extra money its great value.
- Simona (9/5): - Tutto ottimo, struttura confortevole e curate, personale gentile e professionale
- aktay27 (10/5): 4 Star hotel with 5 Star tendencies - This is my second time staying at Dorset Square Hotel. I've stayed at several of the Firmdale Hotels and I'm never disappointed. It combines the quaint and warm feeling of a bed and breakfast with polished finishes of a luxury hotel. The staff was helpful and understood and delivered on my request for a quiet room. The bathrooms are clean and fresh, the decor is playful, tasteful, and colorful. The little cafe on the basement floor looks like a greenhouse and is a perfect place to meet up with friends who lived nearby. Doubt I'd choose to stay anywhere else in London going forward!
- Philippe (8/5): -
- Joseph (10/5): -
- Ian (10/5): Always a fabulous stay! - Always a fantastic stay at one of our favourite hotels. Nada
- Shauna (9/5): a very pleasant stay and the breakfast was fab. I had a few issues with overcharging and a disconnect on the booking - The hotel is very stylish with great interiors The bathrooms were such a boring let down from a design perspective and were very dated
- Huda (10/5): Cozy and clean and functional - The hotel is very comfortable and clean. The whole staff, especially the breakfast crew were incredible. I stayed there for 2 weeks and thought of it as home.
- Tracey (10/5): - Loved the decor and size of our room. We looked over the Dorset square. The Friendliness and helpfulness of the staff was appreciated. The mining breakfast was delicious and had many options for us. An altogether stylish and cozy hotel. We will return!
- Tracy (10/5): -
- Celeste (10/5): - Very good location to access a lot of neighborhoods. Housekeeping was wonderful. Very clean and comfortable. Well stocked mini bar.
- Anthony (10/5): - Great hotel

- MATT (10/5): - Stayed at the Dorset Square in August for my wife’s birthday and again in September for an event at Wembley, (couple of minutes from Marylebone station which is 9 minutes to Wembley Stadium). Staff are fantastic, very warm and welcoming. Rooms are beautifully decorated and well maintained, as are all the other Firmdales we have stayed at. Lots of choice at breakfast and lunch - would recommend the cheeseburger.
- Esthrella (10/5): - First time staying and absolutely loved it! This hotel will now be my home away from home when I visit London again. I loved the vibe and how quiet it was. Also smelled really good! Staff were all absolutely lovely, and the location was perfect, close to the Marylebone and Baker Street stations, lots of taxis and easy for Ubers to get to. Will definitely be back!
- BecE1993 (6/5): Stylish hotel let down by lack of thoughtfulness - I’d always wanted to stay in a Firmdale and chose my wedding as the perfect excuse. The hotel is beautiful, cosy and stylish, and the staff were warm and friendly. It’s small and doesn’t have big-hotel facilities like a bar, but we knew that when booking.
What let it down were the details. Despite staying for our wedding, there was no acknowledgement or welcome gesture, and the rooms don’t have tea or coffee facilities (only on request). Most disappointing was being quoted £250 just to use a quiet room for two hours so my toddler could nap before the ceremony.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but those touches left us feeling a little underwhelmed for the price. There are other boutique hotels in London with the same charm but a more thoughtful approach to guests.
- 810alizab (10/5): A Magical Wedding Experience at Dorset Square Hotel & The Potting Shed - We were recommended Dorset Square Hotel and its restaurant, The Potting Shed, as a wedding venue—and we are so glad we chose it for our special day.
From start to finish, everything was exceptional. The hotel, the restaurant, and especially the staff were incredible. The level of service was among the best we've ever experienced. Our guests were well looked after, and the team went above and beyond to ensure every detail was perfect. Nothing was ever too much trouble.
Luca was outstanding throughout the planning process—always available, offering helpful guidance, and even assisting us in finding a florist. The flowers in and around the hotel were stunning, so we happily chose the hotel’s florist.
The Marylebone Suite, beautifully refurbished, was the perfect bridal suite. Luca and his team left us a thoughtful welcome note and gift, which made our stay even more special.
The Potting Shed restaurant was fantastic. Our guests were full of praise for the delicious food and generous portion sizes.
We cannot thank Luca and the team enough for making our stay so memorable and helping to create a truly magical wedding day. If you're looking for a small, intimate wedding venue with exceptional service, look no further.
- Diane (8/5): We have stayed before but feel that because of the room size and lacking of amenities it is not really value for money. - Location is fantastic Rooms are too small for people who are travelling with large cases. Would also like the ability to make a hot drink in our room.
- Deborah (8/5): Nicely located boutique hotel in Marylebone. Beautiful decor and friendly staff. - Love the interior design. The beautiful colors and decor. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Beautiful flowers, honor bar nice touch. Our room was upgraded to a larger room. The bed was very comfortable with nice linens, big bath towels and fluffy robes. Our room was upgraded but the view was big metal machine. We dealt with it.
- Ciara (9/5): Great location and service. - Great service and staff, great location, great breakfast. Room was very small. It was very comfortable but it was very small.
- ART (3/5): Never come again - Only location Everything, they don’t know what luxury room means. Rooms are very small. I arrived 8:30 am and I informed them I need early check in they told me depends on availability and that is ok with me. I waited about 6 hours to check in although 5 couples checked out before 10 am
- Siobhan (9/5): Very nice hotel. - Lovely clean hotel in good location. Not a corporate/business place so felt very comfortable. Good bathroom fittings. Restaurant was nice and very convenient. Room was very small but we were alert to this from other reviews and only a 12 hr stay in London so ok. No tea or coffee in room but we requested and it was provided after 12pm.
- Simon (10/5): An absolute gem - Beautiful boutique hotel in great location. Our room was small but immaculate and very well finished with lots of personal touches. We requested a quiet room and it was blissfully peaceful. On site restaurant was lovely.
- Alberto (9/5): -
- John (9/5): - Location, staff, small hotel feel with English charm throughout
- James (9/5): Beautiful spotless hotel - Absolutely spotless and beautiful hotel - room was stylish, comfortable and lots of small thoughtful touches. Cleaning was 10/10. Location was excellent as we were travelling to Wembley for a concert. Staff were fantastic and very polite and helpful. Food and drinks were very nice but a little overpriced. I would suggest walking into marylebone village for refreshments. Only dislike would be that we asked for a quiet room (I have trouble sleeping in any noise and my husband is a light sleeper also) but we were put in a room on the ground floor right next to the reception so we could hear every door open and person enter and exit. We could also hear and feel constant shaking from the tube trains going past underneath. When I asked at the reception the staff member said that best to ask for a quiet upper floor room on the booking which I did but I didn’t want to labour the point further as everything else had been perfect so only a minor snag. We were out of the room a lot so only bothered us in the night time. So that was disappointing to have asked for a quiet room and to be put in a decidedly unquiet one. I would request upper levels room next time to combat this.
Also be aware that a 3% facilities charge is added on top of the booking at check out. We thought this was a bit cheeky considering we had already paid £400 for the room and we had had an issue with the noise.

- Astley (10/5): Beautiful and spotless - It was beautifully appointed. The rooms were spotless and very comfortable. Everything was very easy. Really highly recommend Nothing not to like
- Helen (10/5): -
- Andrew Prior (9/5): -
- Orsalia (9/5): Lovely property. - Lovely hotel, great taste and location The rooms are well designed but small.
- David (10/5): Wonderful designer hotel in great location - Beautiful decor - wonderfully comfortable bed. Excellent restaurant- potting shed for breakfast & supper. Lift was a bit eccentric in terms of which rooms it served.
- Celeste (10/5): - Everything about this hotel is A+. The rooms are gorgeous, the property is immaculate, the food is delicious and the staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. I want to live there. Forever.
- Anne (8/5): I have stayed here on various occasions since 2012, so maybe a little jaded, not as 'sharp'. - Breakfast was very good. The hotel has a small lobby, and homely feel. Well curated, with personal service. The room's location, main window without a view, looking into the middle of the building - large air- conditioning pipes made the room slightly darker. There were frosted window panes though.
- Javier (8/5): - Nice place and location.
- Sarah (10/5): -
- kirsty (10/5): - Tried to deduct a ‘service charge’ from my deposit as I was checking out. Only when I queried it (twice) was I informed that the charge was, in fact, discretionary. Not sure if this is normal in London now but I felt it was disappointing.
- Amrita (8/5): - Very clean rooms, great housekeeping staff. The beds were very comfortable. Loved the linen and towels. The room was very small. You have to ask for a kettle which is placed on a desk in an already tiny room
- Stephen (8/5): A comfortable stay. - The location is excellent and the hotel is very comfortable. The staff are polite and friendly. The breakfast to go was very expensive for just a pain au chocolat and tea.
- William (10/5): A very comfortable stay in an immaculate hotel with incredibly friendly staff! - Very comfortable boutique hotel 2 minute walk from Marleybone Station and in very close proximity to Oxford Street. The staff were all incredibly helpful and the hotel is absolutely immaculate. Cosy little bar/restaurant in the basement area but the public spaces are generally quite small, which is typical for this type of building. But please don't let this put you off staying at the hotel, the quality of everything else makes up for it.

- Christina (10/5): Charming Hotel and Lovely Stay - Lovely hotel with amazing staff who are friendly and helpful. The service was great, the hotel restaurant was delicious. It was hot in London and having an air-conditioned, comfortable oasis was key. Very charming decor.
- DWS87 (10/5): Beautiful hidden gem! - We stayed in room 102, overlooking the front gardens which is such a beautiful room with high ceilings and large windows. The bed was one of the best I have slept in and the little touches in the room, like a pillow mist and the evening turndown service made our stay even more enjoyable.
We truly appreciated how accommodating and thoughtful the team were in helping to make our stay just perfect and can't wait to return soon!
- M. (9/5): Superb staff made difference - Good Small room
