- Greg (3/5): - Good location in Chelsea. Loads of restaurants, pubs and shops just around the corner. The bellmen were very helpful and friendly. Our room was a deluxe king. It was small and in need of a refresh. The hall carpet was dirty. Needed to leave a day early and was told I had to go through Booking.com. Booking customer service was great and promptly contacted the registration desk where she was told they could not change the booking and would have to contact the reservation manager. She sent them an email request to adjust my booking and told me to check to see if they received the email. The registration desk person was rather abrupt until the desk manager intervened and found the email. He assured me it would be addressed, gave me his card and said to call him if there was a problem. When I went to check out the next morning, the desk person told me the reservation had not been adjusted. I showed him the manager's card and told me he would follow up. He tried to keep the card, but I insisted he give it back. Later that morning, I received the invoice and the adjustment had been made. This is not how a five star hotel should operate.

After traveling all night from Florida with our then 15-month old, we were obviously exhausted. We were welcomed to the most beautiful and accommodating hotel. We were able to check in early and get the much needed rest we longed for. It was mine and my husband’s anniversary, and they had chocolates waiting for us and a teddy bear for my son. All of the staff was extremely helpful, but I have to give a specific shout out to Harvey. He worked so hard and bent over backwards for my family. When my husband picked up our rental car he was having trouble putting in the car seat in Harvey personally, came out and assisted him. Then, as we were leaving, our phones were messing up, and Harvey gave us a sim card so we could have service. The service was very personal and genuine. Anytime we are back in London this will be our stop, no question. I hope Harvey is treated well there because we never want him to leave!

The room I was given was barely 10 square metter, as I went to the shower after a 25hours journey in the plane, I barely could fit in and the bwthroom got flooded I got changed for a "Better" room but still it was not at all the room I booked After three days and many complains I got upgraded to a bigger room that was nice and very comfortable The walk to the bedroom is not the same standards as the reception.

Beautifully decorated - the common areas feel like a posh private residence...serene and relaxed... The nicest staff! Everyone friendly and helpful... Always big smiles... Rooms are clean and quiet and comfy... We had breakfast included and it was delicious - not a buffet - tables in gorgeous dining room - lots of options on the menu... IMO south kensington is the very best area - tube stop so convenient and easy, many cafes and restaurants and shops nearby, close to museums and harrods, charming streets of very well maintained residences, and so quiet! No horns honking or sirens...a delightful hush in the air... Do not hesitate booking here!

It is such an elegant hotel but with a lovely, relaxed charm. The interior decor is beautiful - very soothing and refined. The food is delicious and the breakfast is one of the best I have had anywhere. Whether sitting in the Front Terrace and having a coffee or in the elegant Drawing Room enjoying a drink in the evening after a day sightseeing, its a very special place. Many thanks to Tom, Ali and all the staff who were so helpful and pleasant in making our stay such a lovely experience. We look forward to visiting again soon. Highly recommend.

A warm welcome from the doorman, Collin and staff at reception along with the excellent bar (the waiter who’s partner is from Gorseinon, thank you for taking good care of us) and restaurant staff are all a great asset to this beautiful hotel. We opted for a cosy room, it was clean and comfy. We were going to go into London in the evening, but the relaxing atmosphere here meant we spent a lovely evening in the bar and ordered a few dishes from the menu - we loved it! Breakfast was great too, a varied selection all delivered to your table. The hotel is tastefully designed with a slight quirkiness and stunning fresh flowers located around the public areas with log fires……I’m talking myself into booking another night already!!!

The neighborhood is very safe and clean and quiet compared to staying in the theater district or other high-traffic area of London. The atmosphere of this boutique hotel is very posh. The interior design, fresh flowers in the lobby and hotel rooms expresses the hotel's attention to beauty and detail. We booked two rooms on the fourth floor and could not have been more comfortable and pleased with the space, fresh linens, soft towels and bath robes, slippers, etc. Everything in the hotel is clean and you always see the cleaning ladies in the lobby or on the floors cleaning rooms. The amenities were also great - we used their laundry service once, their gym, free magazines and daily newspaper, etc. We paid for daily breakfast service and that was also incredible food and a great way to start our day. The hotel Manager, Tom, and Daisy and their entire wait staff were attentive to our needs, always polite and on time. There was never a miscommunication or mishap during our stay. The amount that we paid per night was worth every penny. We loved calling the hotel "home" for six nights - it was truly a comfortable, beautiful and happy place to stay. I would definitely recommend this hotel to another couple, group of friends or family.

We also had afternoon tea at the hotel, and honestly — I preferred it over Harrods! Before we ever arrived, I had the pleasure of dealing with Vaibhav in central reservations who went above and beyond to make sure the Kensington was the most suitably located London Doyle hotel for this trip. Even later, when an additional room and some changes were required, absolutely nothing was a problem. We arrived from an early morning flight and the reception staff went above and beyond to look after us until our room was ready. In the most natural and professional way, the staff make you feel like you live here, they go above and beyond to accommodate requests, to provide information and to ensure that your stay is exceptional. All of the concierge and service staff were so helpful. The decor of the hotel is beautiful and the standard of the rooms is excellent. Based on my experience, I wouldn’t dream of not booking this or any of the Doyle hotels on my next trip to London. It was a pleasure to meet Thomas and to chat to the staff anytime we met during our stay. You get the impression that they know you and they are purely focused on doing anything to help. The breakfast was delicious and the portions were large. i also loved that breakfast was until 10:30am for those of us who wanted to sleep in a bit. The dinners were wonderful. The hotel aesthetic is off the charts. Vibes - immaculate! There appeared to be a signature scent, because the whole place smelled incredible. The music was on point. Sitting by the fire and reading a book in the library, while having tea after dinner is a memory that will stay with me for the rest of my life.

It’s a very cosy hotel with genuinely accommodating and friendly staff who make you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. The room was extremely comfortable, with a particularly comfortable bed and excellent pillows, which made for a very restful stay. The hotel is set in a lovely, quiet area, yet surrounded by elegant bars and restaurants, making it a perfect location for both relaxing and going out in the evening. - lindabX8340XJ (6/5): Marie Antoinette afternoon tea at Kensington Expensive Disappointed at poor service - My friend and I decided to splurge on an afternoon tea after seeing the Marie Antoinette Exhibit at the V&A. The afternoon tea is £59 per person plus taxes and we had pre-booked a month before. The surroundings were lovely and very Christmassy. The presentation and cakes were delicious and beautiful and what we couldn’t finish could be nicely boxed to take home. What let it down was the poor service. We didn’t have the same person bringing the food and tea as the person who introduced themselves. I ordered hot water to dilute my strong tea and held off eating to enjoy with a 2nd cup. Hot water took more than 20 minutes to arrive by which time the first tea type I chose was cold. I was interested in purchasing some of the tea canisters for gifts (which were noted on the menu). The staff didn’t seem to know anything about it and eventually after more delay a staff member came out and said I could purchase loose tea in a clear bag. Even paying the bill was difficult with a comment “the service is very poor” (ah, yes). A fellow guest who had arrived well after us was sympathetic and acknowledged that we had had a series of mishaps. A staff member did take our photo which was a nice momento. The ambience, food and décor - superb. There were long delays between each request and I was beginning to feel irritated at having to get someone’s attention for service as the space was not overly busy. For the price ($150AUS each) attentive and prompt service would improve the special occasion. In comparison I enjoyed other lovely cafes in London at a tenth of the price which I would give 5 stars rather than 3.

The heating does not work properly, the room hardware is poorly maintained, and basic housekeeping including replenishment of toiletries and towels was neglected. When I raised these issues, the front desk staff were rude and dismissive. The duty manager stated he would address the situation and did not follow through. This reflects a serious failure in service standards. At this price point, this level of neglect is indefensible. It is not worth the time or money, and there are far better alternatives in London.

Bed was very comfortable and the shower extra hot which was really nice. Very close to Kensington tube station which gives you transport links all over London. Breakfast had some nice options and kept it fairly simple on making a choice. Overall a lovely hotel to stay at.
- Nathan (8/5): Great location, with excellent service and facilities. - Friendly, comfortable, good morning breakfast service in the room. USB sockets by the beds to charge phones would be helpful. Better guide for lighting in the room. Have porridge as a cereal option in the ‘light breakfast menu’, and perhaps a choice of egg somewhere in the light menu.
- Nicole-May (10/5): A Work of Art-Inspired Afternoon Tea! - We had a fantastic afternoon tea at The Kensington hotel. The hotel is beautiful and we received a very warm welcome on arrival. We did have a slight issue on arrival as our pre booked reservation was not on the system and they were particularly busy that day. However the lovely Chandan kindly spoke to the kitchen team and had us seated in no time. The art themed afternoon tea was exquisite, a piece of art in itself! Chandan was very knowledgeable in the artists that inspired the afternoon tea. There are a wide range of specialty teas to choose from. We had the best time and can’t wait to return on our next visit to the city! Thank you!
- OrlaWalshh (10/5): My favorite place - My mom and I have been lucky enough to stay at The Kensington three times in the past year, and each stay has truly been more perfect than the last. The hotel itself is absolutely stunning, with incredible attention to detail. It feels homely while still elegant, and the location is ideal. We prefer staying somewhere a little quieter, so this area is perfect for us. On our second stay we met Thomas, who is undoubtedly the most attentive and kind member of staff we have ever encountered. He has gone above and beyond to make our visits extra special. For example, on our last stay it was my mother’s birthday, and he arranged for flowers and champagne to be waiting in the room. One of my favourite things about the hotel is that although it is clearly a five-star establishment, it never feels pretentious or unwelcoming. There’s a warmth here that sets it apart from other luxury hotels. We have already decided to return early next year, and I’m sure there will be many more visits to come. See you soon, Órla

- tweety947 (10/5): Fantastic hotel in a great location - Outstanding Hotel with a great location and amazing staff We hadn’t been to London in 14 years and booked the Kensington having stayed in there sister hotel in Dublin in January. We were not disappointed, having had a disaster with our airport transfer were greeted by the door man I didn’t get his name but he had a fabulous top hat with a robin on it. We checked in and left our bags as our room wasn’t ready and set off exploring and they said they would call us when the room was ready. When we got back our suite room 117 was ready and wow it was worth the wait what a fantastic room the decor the size of the room was massive with a sitting area and the bed was so comfortable. The shower was outstanding one of the best hotel showers I’ve ever experience. We had been left a card some sweets and a good bowl with bottles of water which were appreciated. Harvey brought our bags up the room he was very friendly and told us if we needed anything to let them know. We had breakfast included in our package and the breakfast was so good so don’t miss it, my only suggestion would be that hold the hot food as both mornings we had just received our cereal and the hot food arrived which is a bit silly as the warm food os going cold so that would be my only criticism which is minor. We had dinner included the townhouse on our 2nd evening and it was lovely a really nice vibe and so nIce to to come down stairs and have good food, we had some Drinks in the bar after and I really likes how dark the bar was and danush was so welcoming and made some amazing and delicious cocktails make sure and stop by if you visit. All in all a fantastic hotel in a great location wouldn’t pass this hotel if returning to London. The hotel was beautifully decorated for Christmas and the morning we’ left silaviiu I hope I’ve spelt it right was the door man and carried our heavy bags tithe transfer and asked us all About our trip so we felt valued.
- RFM_101980 (8/5): Location! - Great hotel in the heart of Kensington! Rooms are cute and food was wonderful! Had breakfast and dinner and it was excellent. The night concierge (George Okoko) was very helpful when leaving for my early morning flight. The only criticism I have is that the bar was very perplexed when I asked to have dinner at the actual bar. Bartenders were so nice and made a great martini but seemed to throw them for a loop when requesting dinner at the bar.
