Guest Reviews
- Michael (10/5): - The hotel is excellent. Rooms are modern and spacious but have veery little natural light. The cleaners leave the rooms in excellent condition each day. The inclusive breakfast again is excellent. I was expecting something basic but it wasn't.
The hotel is near everything like La Ramblasand plaza catalonia. The area is full of restaurants and bars. The only issue was the unsavoury persons who frequent the area nearby at night. So becareful. We would stay again no problem.
- Michelle (8/5): - Clean and comfortable. Good location near metro station
Nice to have free breakfast and wifi
Luggagge room also available
- Laureen (10/5): - Check in took a little longer than we would have liked and the air con wasnt working in reception. Very friendly staff. Nicely appointed room with everything we needed. Buffet breakfadt included was very good. Would reccommend this place.
- Angela (10/5): Excellent stay - Hotel was clean and walking distance to everything. We had a private balcony that was nice. Breakfast was included and was plentiful. There is also a bar across the street that had a band playing jazz music that we enjoyed. Would definitely stay there again.
- Benjamin (10/5): Most disgusting property imaginable - Absolutely disgusting property. Visible mold all theoughout the bathroom and bedroom, room door was partially off the hinges, air conditioner didn't work, no coverings on the room light, broken trash can, stained carpet, i could go on and on. We immediately left and had to stay someone else, which ive never had to do before.
- MABEL (10/5): - Hotel is a bit out of the way.
Lighting in hallways are insufficient.
The room and breakfast were very good.
- Simon (8/5): Good stay for our first visit to Barcelona. - Hotel was in a good location and we could walk to the main tourist sites. We felt safe even later in the day. Breakfast was great and included with the rate so that was a bonus. The room was small but decent although in lacked storage area. The staff were friendly and helpful.
- Anna (8/5): -
Casa Nicolasa
3/5 Ok
The location of the hotel is what attracted me the most (makes Barcelona center walkable) but there’s a massive construction happening right in front of the hotel that seems to be lasting for years making car access super limited and confusing. The area outside is littered with garbage and questionable characters. The hotel itself is kept relatively clean but our shower had a strong smell of mold. For a 3-start hotel that didn’t come cheap (actually it was $30 a night cheaper than a 5-star hotel we stayed at before) absence of an in-room minibar is puzzling. The breakfast was ok, the size of the room is decent and beds were relatively comfortable. We could see that the stuff was putting an effort into the upkeep of the property but I would not stay there again
- Neil (6/5): - An unusual property, reached via either very narrow windy streets, or perhaps better dropping off at a main road 50m away. Quite a bland, dark hotel, the rooms were clean, the bathroom was large and nice, but for our two-night stay we were allocated an 'internal' room that had zero view. Well not quite true, but the view was of a totally enclosed central core area, maybe 7m x 7m, wth service facilities etc. Curtains rightly covered the view.... it was not much better than no view, so felt very claustrophobic. Furnture was spartan, but OK. The included breakfast and 'canteen' area was pretty good, although I couldn't/wouldn't eat the hot offerings, not my taste. but a decent selection otherwise. A ten minute walk from La Ramblas. Rates were inexpensive, but we'd probably choose somewhere nicer next time.
- Matthew (4/5): - Hotel was so basic -
Air conditioning didn't cool the room
Safe wouldn't work - reception did come have a look but still wouldn't work so they left me with the master key.
Breakfast - food was average, the restaurant is littered with dirty plates.
I would say this hotel is on par with staying in a hostel - we certainly wouldn't be going back again and would not recommend it to anyone.
- Sabrina (10/5): - Hotel and room appeared recently renovated and were very clean. Great location with everything in walking distance. We had a fabulous stay!
- Samantha (10/5): Great hotel in Barcelona - Great hotel, highly recommended
- Barbara (10/5): - Front staff extremely welcoming, very helpful. Lionel helped to solve problem. Great location. I would recommend this place.
- Andrew (10/5): Beautiful hotel in the heart of Barcelona. - This is a very nice hotel. The room fitting-outs are so calm and pretty and we are satisfied this is the most beautiful room during our long trip. We have problem in manipulating the safe. Starting the breakfast from 7.30am is definitely a problem to many guests trying to catch the early morning flights.
- Victor (8/5): - Great location, construction on near by streets made for a mess.
Room and air conditioning very nice
- martin (8/5): One night only - Clean updated hotel with comfortable beds and a reasonable breakfast
- Michael (10/5): Good hotel - Interior is well renovated and the hotel is very central
- Steven (10/5): - The hotel is in a perfect location, close to the metro system which is easy to navigate around Barcelona.
- Terrence (10/5): - Excellent staff, they are very friendly, helpful and efficient. Breakfast was included, something we were not expecting. The breakfast was a full buffet of excellent food. We had booked for a twenty night stay but needed to leaving after 14 nights due to a death in our family back home. Although we paid for the full 20 nights, the hotel reimbursed us for six nights when we left early. They didn’t need to do that so we were very grateful.
- Richard (8/5): Nice place - Nice place is a good neighborhood in Barcelona. Staff was helpful and courteous and a nice breakfast was included each morning. Only knock is that the room was VERY small.
- Ian (10/5): Very nice place. - Staff very helpful. Very nice hotel. Well worth the price.
- S (10/5): Great stay in Barcelona - From initial check-in to check-out after a four day stay, the Ronda House hotel was a welcoming, comfortable, and pleasant place. No issues at all during our stay staff were always friendly and we were able to check-in ahead of time and which was a nice after an early flight. Well done to the management and staff of the hotel. The free breakfast was delicious and an added bonus.
- michael (10/5): Hotel Ronda Very Good. - The Hotel is very good, the rooms very good . The shower room was very modern and clean and excellent. The breakfast was very good. The location 15 mins from Airport drop off at Placa Catalunya. I would definetly use this Hotel if I visit Barcelona again. The staff also very polite and helpful.
- Duncan (8/5): As expected - One night business stay. Clean comfy room. No complaints. Did what I needed it to do.
- Alison (10/5): Good location, clean and friendly - We really liked the hotel, staff were friendly, check in easy. Clean modern room.
Breakfast was definitely adequate.
Location was great for us, from Airport we got the Areobus and got off at the University stop, hotel a 5 min walk. Areobus going back to Airport was different location just up from the market again only 5 mins walk.
Metro line took us straight to Sagrada Familia (5 stops and 2.40 each)
We found everything very accessible from this location.
The Barcafe in the square next to hotel was a fav stop for a coffee, beer and watch the world go by. We also ate here a few times.
Having read some reviews about the area, it is definitely not the worst and it's mainly residential, but we had absolutely no problems and one night we came back around 2:30am with no issues.
I would definitely stay here again.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Something wrong with Wi-Fi and I could not use it
- brian (10/5): Good value hotel w/ a nice staff - Nice hotel well-located in central Barcelona. The staff was very helpful and the breakfast was a great value. We would definitely stay here again.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Book somewhere else !!!!
Maintainance is ongoing with all usual noices !
The bar and the restaurant are closed !
- Levon (6/5): - Room was small with window to nowhere. Old and unclean bedsheets. Location was not the best. We had a reservation for two days but stayed there for only one.
- Marivic (10/5): - The hotel is amazing..room is fresh and clean, comfortable bed, buffet breakfast is perfect😁😁
- James (6/5): Overall just OK. - This was my 2nd time in Barcelona, I stayed at a different hotel the 1st trip. I will say overall the experience was just "ok" The staff is mostly very nice and kind, outside of one of the ladies up front. The quality of the room and the hotel itself was good, the rooms are pretty nice. Especially the bathroom! There was no fridge in the room.
The breakfast honestly was not very good, very small selection and concentrated orange juice, coffee, or water to drink. The area also was very loud at night, and there a lot of shady looking characters around.
I would stay in a nicer part of town if I were to go back to Barcelona.
- Jill (10/5): Very good hotel in a quiet part of a lively area. - The hotel is under going reformation so there’s daytime building noises, but the hotel itself was lovely, the room new, clean, hot hot shower water which I love. Super comfy bed. Excellent breakfast choice, and helpful friendly staff. Excellent quiet location in a busy area.
I would happily stay here again.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The lady at check in was not very helpful. Kept asking me to send her an email of my check in confirmation after I provided my name and confirmation number
- julia (10/5): excellent value! - The hotel’s decor and cleanliness was excellent & seemed better than an average 3* hotel! The breakfast had plenty to choose from continental & the hot breakfast was mainly scrambled eggs & sausage and bacon- only negative was the coffee from machine. As the hotel is near student area and Ramblas it’s busy but easy to walk to get the buses- reception were very helpful
- Anastasiia (10/5): Hotel Ronda - It's very good hotel if you are going to explore Barcelona, It is situated in a nice area of the city, it's convenient to take public transport to get everywhere. Nearby there is a small park and a lot of shops.
Room was not very big, but nice, clean and cozy. We had breakfast included and it was very tasty. All people working there were friendly and helped us a lot during our stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - good value for the money, good location, friendly stuff
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The location and great food , would come back again!
- John Francis (10/5): - Affordable, good location, excellent service.
- humberto (8/5): good - Good for the price, could improve customer service. Clean and good breakfast
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Front desk is always helpful. Had a great stay. I didn't like the area where the Hotel is at first, but then I realized how convenient it is. The Hotel is great and everyone was very nice.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The room was very small but everything was new. Location was in old part of town about 15 minutes from La Ramblas. One lady at the front desk helped us a lot. One day she called us a taxi and it never showed up. We missed our reservations and had to pay again. She felt so bad she called the taxi company and they agreed to pay for a ride to the airport. She continued to follow-up and when we were to go to the airport she talked to the taxi driver to make sure the trip was free. She is an exceptional employee! I would stay at this hotel again.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - bad elevator service / shower's in rooms not the greatest.
- kim (10/5): - The property is tucked away from the streets which was very nice. The taxi drivers know the place. The staff was amazing helping. Place was very surprisely stylist. Very nice rooms and showers and free breakfast. Also, it is close the the center of Barcelona. We were indeed surprised of this very gem. Each room had 3 twins. we wished the setup was at least a full bed and one twin. I would definitely stay here.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This hotel is conveniently located near restaurants and shops in the Gothic Quarter. The room is basic but clean and comfortable. The breakfast was fantastic.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very convenient position. Helpful staff. Reasonably priced.
- Alice (10/5): Barcelona Trip 2019 - We had a total of 5 couples stay at the Ronda House from 2 to 9 days in Barcelona. We all had a great experience with our rooms, breakfast and even the bar. It was safe, very clean and staff were all friendly and always helpful. It is in a great location for traveling, sightseeing and shopping. I would stay there again and recommend Hotel Ronda to all! Thank you for making our stay a great one! Alice
- gary (10/5): Great location - Excellent location..friendly staff...nice breakfast
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Directions to bus routes cofusing and wrong in some cases. Had loud and early room construction drilling the entire stay
Lost one night due to AA Airlines modified booking
Property in bad location.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - i liked the location in el ravel.of tourist track ,great for people watching.15 minute to los rambla and marine area.
- Peter (8/5): 5 days in Barcelona - Convenient to all the local attractions friendly staff but there seemed to be school groups there most of the time if you don’t mind that it’s an ok place
- Verified traveler (2/5): The worst hotel experience I have ever had - Hi, me and my partner visited Hotel Ronda House earlier this week from Wednesday to Friday. With it being one of the cheapest hotels in Barcelona it was obvious we had to book it. At first we were extremely happy with the hotel as we were allocated one of the newly renovated rooms which was much more modern and up-to-date than the pictures show. However when we did arrive we got to the lift and noticed there was a lot of banging and workers moving stuff up and down stairs. However we were on the top floor so we thought it would be okay.
We had been travelling all morning on the metro to get to the hotel and obviously the flight from liverpool to barcelona so our plan was to have a nap before we unpacked and went out of the hotel to explore barcelona, however this was not possible as the noise coming from the lower floors was absolutely horrendous it sounded like there was workers right outside our room so I went and checked but nobody was there. The noises continued for about an hour but by that time we had no time to sleep as we really wanted to go and explore barcelona. So we went out and later on that night we came back went to bed and there was no noises.
The next day the noises continued stopping us from having our mid-day nap. As we led on the bed trying to rest ready to go back out we were rudely interrupted by a middle-aged man who looked to be one of the workers making all the noise. He did one knock on the door and just walked in.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The hotel is under renovation and the new rooms are nicely appointed and spacious. Staff are friendly and knowledgable and very helpful;
they try to make your stay as pleasant as possible.
Luggage storage is available before and after check-in. The hotel is located in what seems to be more of a residential area and there aren't many options for dining or nightlife.
The hotel's breakfast offers many options and is a good way to start the day as there aren't many other options close by.
The location is good and is within walking distance of the major attractions and metro stations.
The hotel residents are quiet but street noise echoes throughout neighborhood during the night.
Barcelona has a reputation for high rates of robbery. We didn't witness anything but if you are vigilant and are aware of your environment you
will be fine.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Good location, clean, breakfast available.
Helpful staff, easy check in.
- Aasems (10/5): - It was every penny worth. Had very well maintained rooms, good service. Breakfast was really good. Commute is available nearby but had some trouble as my travel was after midnight.
- martin (10/5): Short family break in Barca - The hotel was very close to a lot of restaurants, bars, mini supermarkets and a short walk from a tube station. The hotel catered for a gluten free breakfast every day for one of our party. The breakfast was plentiful and had cold and hot options. The room we had was recently refurbished and was very nice and had a room safe. There was some refurbishment happening in other parts of the hotel but this didn’t cause us any disruption whatsoever
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Centrally located, good access to metro and buses. Breakfast good
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The hotel is in a great location, just outside the touristy area and walking distance to Ramblas.
Breakfast is not good but there are lots of other places to get decent coffee and food.
The room was new and nice.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We had a beautiful balcony in our room and the breakfast was great
- Elizabeth (8/5): Great staff - The staff were so friendly. Stayed two nights for a fast packed tour of Barcelona. Only negative was the room had an odour or stale sewage/water from bathroom. The receptionist did however arrange for room to be sprayed with air freshener the first evening.
- Anthony (8/5): - A good location but difficult to approach by car. They have a private parking garage. Generally value for money.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent Reception Staff, Extraordinary Nice Breakfast, Clean Rooms, Close to many Metro Stations and Close to las Ramblas or Plaza Catalunya By Walking or Metro Connections.
- Luis (10/5): Nice room - Clean room and lovely receptionist. The emergency exits weren't posted anywhere and that made us feel uneasy.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - We were put in the newly renovated rooms which were nice and clean however the location of the hotel was not the best
- Victor (10/5): - Excellent location. Brand new room with great air conditioning. Wonderful staff. Great breakfast. Highly recommended.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Staff very friendly and helpful. Very good breakfast.
- Joseph (10/5): - The hotel is a 15 minute walk to Plaza Catalunya & La Rambla, 7 minute walk from Plaza Universitat (if taking the aerobus from terminal 1 airport), and 7 minute walk to Aerobus stop at Sepulveda (going to the airport). The room we stayed was newly renovated, and we like the 2 usb outlets to charge our phones. The breakfast buffet was decent enough, friendly hotel staff, and strong internet connection.
- Catalin (8/5): Close to the ramblas but there is limited parking. - Very close to bars and restaurants, walking distance to s hops.
- Frederick (8/5): Convenient Location - Hotel Ronda House was a surprising find. Nestled in a quite corner in the Barri Gotic(old town), close to train and eateries, this was a nice little oasis. Rooms were pretty basic and the breakfast could have been a little better, but the beds were comfortable and the rooms spacious. Wifi was a little difficult at times. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I'd stay there again, mainly because of the location.
- holly (8/5): Great location and all you really need - It is a quick walk to the main tourist areas. The breakfast in the morning was good with sandwich meats, cheese and breads and hot food selections. Room was comfortable but no real frills, but who stays in their room. Our favorite part was the bar that was right next to it across the street. we were there on a week night and both nights they had great musicians and we ended each evening there. I would stay there just to be close to that bar. Don't try to drive to the hotel. You should prebook parking, drive to parking and then if need be either walk it or take a taxi. We could not figure out how to get there by car and I think unless you are a local that will be the case.
- PA (6/5): Basic hotel - If you are looking for a no frills cheap hotel then this is you place to stay.
Basic accommodation, good shower and adequate breakfast.
Easy to get to and close to metro line and within easy walking of city.
The hotel is clean and staff very friendly and helpful.
Area the hotel is located is a little less salubrious.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Convenient location close to Plaza de Catalunya, friendly staff, excellent breakfast. Cleanliness of the room could be improved. Received towels that had stains and a piece of hair on them. Maintenance work was going on all day long starting from 10:00 am and if you would like to take a rest in the afternoon it was not quite possible. Overall would recommend the property because of the location, the food and the helpful staff.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The room had a weird smell, you could hear if someone down the hall dropped a pen, and the bed sounded like it was going to break every time you moved. The office staff was friendly and informative but that’s abiuy the only perk. Oh, the shower was nice.. But only if it had a curtain..
- Francis (8/5): Good value hotel - Good value hotel, friendly staff and lovely breakfast included. There was work being done on the floor above us until around 7pm which was quite loud and made the power in our room cut out a few times, however this wasn't a huge issue for us just a little inconvenient.
- Marc (8/5): Affordable, clean and friendly - First time to Spain so didn’t know what to expect. The hotel was very clean and fresh. The first night the air condition was not working. We came in late so there wasn’t much the desk clerk could do since she wasn’t maintenance, but she tried her best and was very apologetic. She brought us a fan and that worked well enough. The next day we were moved to another room that had air condition functioning. After coming back from a long day out the air condition stopped after 10 minutes. The desk clerk tried to help as best she could because again this was later at night and maintenance was most likely gone. When my wife spoke to the manager he seemed to just more or less say there was nothing they could do. Well someone must have figured it out because the air kicked back on after a bit. The desk clerk came up to make sure and was very apologetic. Based on the conversation my wife had with the Manager he was not inclined to do anything. Even when she asked for a discount since they advertised air condition and the first night we didn’t have it. Regardless the problem was solved and the staff were always very lovely and polite. The hotel is clean and work is going on to renovate more rooms. It is close to several metro stops and some shopping. The aerobus from the airport drops off a short distance away. All in I enjoyed it and the breakfast very morning was a welcome addition. I doubt I will return to Barcelona in the future but if I do I will stay here again.
- Johana (2/5): - We were never informed they were in the middle on construction. We had to be moved to a new hotel because the jackhammers were above our room! We never stayed at Ronda house but their sister company, Barcelona house
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The hotel is in the process of remodeling. We stayed in a newly remodeled room. The room was modern with space and the bathroom was also spacious with a nice big shower you can move around in.
- Pablito (10/5): Amazing stay in a friendly hotel - we have a very comfortable stay in your hotel. free breakfast is very good n very helpful. receptionists are very accommodating, polite, knowledgeable n very patient. cooks prepare the food on time n the restaurant is very clean.the location of the hotel is very good n walking distance to tourist attractions in barcelona. close to metro station. no regrets to stay in the hotel. i strongly recommend this hotel.
- EdRose (4/5): - The only great thing about this hotel is the location. The staff was polite and friendly. The breakfast was worth the extra money. The room was clean, but tiny and old. The bed was not comfortable at all. The walls were paper thin. I was woken up at all times of the night by loud neighbors in the halls.
- Toni (10/5): - Remodeling rooms. We got a new room. Very nice! Staff very friendly and knowledgeable
- WADE (6/5): - good location
very good breakfast
average room with a bad view
bed was a little hard but I liked it
- Collin (6/5): Good location. Close to everything. - Good and helpful staff. Old facilities. Otherwise good for the money paid.
- Manfred (10/5): Excellent Hotel - Excellent hotel, modern and comfortable rooms, great breakfast, near from metro station and 15 minutes walking from Placa de Catalonia. Comming from airport in Aerobus service is 10 minutes walking from bus stop station to hotel.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Clean, pleasant service, but no sound proof.
Very close to port, but taxi very expensive!!
- Marzban (8/5): - Location was too good. Just 10 minutes walk to las ramblas and placa catalunya.
Good spread for breakfast.
Reception staff polite and knoeledgable. Great hotel for a budget traveller
- Lisa (6/5): Nothing is too much trouble. - Customer service is excellent. Clean hotel. Breakfast was good. Noisy room next door but staff sorted it. We felt safe in the area.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Basic hotel in a good location near the ramblers , rooms are very hot which make it uncomfortable to stay in
- Verified traveler (4/5): Inexpensive but not so great. - The room was small and very basic. We could hear noise through the door and walls at night. The staff was friendly and breakfast was decent, but I would not choose to stay here again.
- Sue (8/5): Good value hotel - Nice basic hotel, well situated for the buses/metro/trains just a 15 min walk to Catalunya Square. Friendly reception. Room was clean;small but adequate, though bed was a bit hard, and had to keep bathroom light on as bedroom very dark. Nice bathroom with good shower and plenty of hot water. Buffet breakfast was lovely, usual continental, but also scrambled egg, bacon and hot dog sausage. Free Wi-Fi too. There are also a few bars and restaurants nearby.
- ELIZABETH (10/5): ronda house !!!! - was excellent location,lovely room , good value
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Clean room, newly remodeled. Friendly staff !
- Yevgeniy (6/5): Noisy hotel in a not safe location - Not a safe place, while was checking in, there was an attempt to open and rob the car.
Very noisy in the hotel, administration does not care that children are running, shouting in the corridor and slamming doors during the whole night.
- Mark (8/5): Lovely Hotel - Very pleased with the location staff very friendly and helpful breakfast was very good and I will definitely stay here again
- adl (8/5): Better then expected - After reading other reviews was not expecting too much. It seems to be undergoing a process of modernasition and the room was quite nice. Breakfast was ok.
- aisha (8/5): - The hotel staff were friendly and very helpful. We booked our city sight seeing excursion from there and our taxi back to the airport.
Breakfast was good a lot of variety!
Room was clean and had extra blankets and pillows if needed.
Only down size was size of Tv and all programs in Spanish.
- Christine (10/5): Excellent stay - The ladies in the reception were very friendly. Rhea is our morning receptionist was very knowledgeable about the area and very helpful. Breakfast was very tasty and JR was very attentive to the guest. The room size is adequate and very clean. Could be improved with tea or coffee making facility but the reception staff were great by giving us hot water when we asked.
- Grzegorz (10/5): Great location - Very hard to get there by car - located in old town. Has parking inside. Friendly staff. Good breakfast.
- pablo (8/5): Good hotel near downtown - The hotel is clean, well maintained and affordable. The hotel staff is kind and always willing to help. The hotel is well located, you can easily walk from there to the downtown, there is a subway station near by and you can take the bus from Plaza Cataluna (which is about 10-15 minutes walk from the hotel) to the airport. It's not a fancy hotel, but very decent and worth it.
- Leanne (10/5): Fantastic Service! - My trip was delayed several hours due to weather from my destination, but the staff at Hotel Ronda were incredibly responsive and made sure to hold my reservation until I arrived. In addition to the wonderful staff, the WiFi worked fantastically, the room was comfortable, and the breakfast was offered at incredibly convenient times. It can get a bit noisy in the evenings, but I feel like that is relatively normal for the area. I highly recommend this hotel!
- Verified traveler (8/5): location - Good location
- Maria (10/5): Very clean and nice breakfast - We stayed here for three nights and were very pleased with the hotel. The room was clean and spacious. Breakfast was great, they had a lot of choices of ham, cheeses, bread, scramble eggs, bacon, cereal, coffee and yogurt. The staff were also very friendly. I’d stay here again.
