The room itself, although not large, was comfy and clean. The hotel is near the Star Ferry and bus snd tube terminals so access was super easy. Breakfast was good value.

• christineeC620YK (10/5): Prime Location in Hong Kong with Stunning Harbour Views - We had a wonderful stay at the hotel from April 22–24, 2026. The location is very strategic—just a short walk to the MTR, Star Ferry, malls, restaurants, and major attractions. It is also conveniently located near the Hong Kong Cultural Centre and the Avenue of the Stars, making it very easy to explore the city. One of the highlights of our stay was the complimentary room upgrade to a harbour view room. The view was absolutely stunning—we were even able to watch the Symphony of Lights right from our room, which made the experience extra special and memorable. We also truly appreciated the thoughtful gesture of giving a panda stuffed toy as a birthday gift for our celebrant. It was a small but meaningful touch that added warmth to our stay. In terms of policies, a security deposit of HKD 500 per room is required upon check-in, which was properly communicated. It is also important to note that toiletries are not automatically provided in the room, and room cleaning is scheduled every three days, which guests should be aware of in advance. Overall, we had a pleasant and comfortable stay. The excellent location, beautiful harbour view, and thoughtful hospitality made our Hong Kong trip truly enjoyable. We would still recommend this hotel for travelers who prioritize location and views, and we would be happy to stay here again in the future.

It is a perfect hotel for transit to China and one or two days of resting in between the trip to China. Location is the best, close to China ferry and all other destinations. People are the major factor to enhance my stay there, very kind and professional. Rooms are always equipped with all necessary conveniences. Very clean and neat. Cafe on the lobby level is just great to fulfill your meals with very reasonable prices.

If you are looking for a combination of comfort, convenience, and world-class views, this is the place to be. The Room and View The standout feature of our stay was undoubtedly the spectacular view of Victoria Harbour. Waking up to that skyline and watching the lights at night from our window was a breathtaking experience. Beyond the view, the room itself exceeded our expectations: • Cleanliness: The room was spotless upon arrival and maintained beautifully throughout our stay. • Space: There was plenty of room to move around, which is a rare find in Hong Kong hotels. • Comfort: The bed and comforter were exceptionally cozy—perfectly weighted for the local weather and making it very easy to get a good night's rest after a long day of exploring. Service and Atmosphere What really made our stay special was the warm and welcoming staff. They were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to be kind to my little baby girl. As a parent, those small gestures of hospitality make a world of difference and made us feel right at home. Final Verdict The Salisbury YMCA offers a premium experience with a heart. • davidpV4449YB (10/5): we had a brief but lovely stay. - we arrived at the salisbury early from our cruise ship, and were allowed to park our luggage in the hotel until we could check in later in the day. this was much appreciated. we were also given, for reasons we are unsure of, an upgrade in our room, from a harbor front room to a harbor front suite. this was also appreciated. on the day we were scheduled to leave, our flight was not until 10:00 pm, and the hotel again allowed us to store our luggage, with the same open kindness. they also helped us with getting an uber, and in all ways were generous, accommodating, and thoughtful. very happy with the salisbury and our stay.

On the positive side, the hotel’s location is truly outstanding. Situated right in Tsim Sha Tsui, it offers easy access to major attractions, shopping areas, and public transport. One of the highlights of my stay was the room itself—spacious, comfortable, and offering a somptuous view of Victoria Harbour. Waking up to that iconic skyline is something I genuinely appreciated. In terms of pricing, the hotel is also quite competitive compared to nearby properties in the same area, especially considering the size of the rooms and the views offered. It delivers solid value for money relative to other hotels in this prime location. However, there are several areas that need improvement. The front office staff were not particularly welcoming and rarely smiled, which made the check-in and general interactions feel rather cold. Additionally, I experienced recurring issues with the toilets, which tended to block easily—something that should not happen in a hotel of this standard. Perhaps the most disappointing aspect was the housekeeping policy. Rooms are only serviced every three days, which is simply not acceptable, especially when paying more than HKD 3,000 per night for a suite. At that price point, daily housekeeping should be a basic expectation. In summary, while the hotel excels in location, views, and relative pricing, the service quality and maintenance issues significantly detract from the overall experience

• D6331SKrichardm (10/5): Best hotel for position and value. - We visited the Salisbury for 2 nights on our way to Sydney and we found Otto be excellent so we booked for 4 nights on our return from Sydney to London. We found all of the staff to be friendly and helpful. The rooms are spotlessly clean and supplied with all the necessary items you might expect. They provide a hot water machine so you can have hot drinks other than coffee. American motels may want to emulate this! The hotel is very close to the star ferry and waterfront. The train station is about a 5 minute walk using underground walkways. So no problem if it happens to be raining. We used their excellent buffet breakfast every morning. Which had an extensive variety of food. Both western and oriental. On our last evening we also ate their buffet dinner. This was fabulous and very good value considering what was on offer. We ate like royalty. So don’t hesitate if you need good quality accommodation at a very reasonable price this would be very difficult to beat.

It exceeded expectations - room was spacious, well fitted out and clean. The staff from cleaners to manager were all friendly and approachable - all requests were handled efficiently and without fuss. For the price we paid I feel this was exceptionally good value for money - the MTR station entrance is visible from our window and you are walking distance away from anything you could need. Being a stones throw from the harbour is a bonus. The atmosphere was pleasant and you are in the heart of the hustle and bustle of Hong Kong. We are already looking forward to our next visit and would not hesitate to return to the YMCA. My only feedback for slight improvement is the jacuzzi - a little small for a hotel of this size. Other than that, the pools were adequate and the gym was surprisingly decent. Minor gripe as we spent 99% of our time enjoying Hong Kong anyway.

Thank you. Room was clean. Had to learn to use the water boiler. Had a refrg. Nice to have tea/coffee. Room temp was excellent. Room was quiet. Convenient location. Love the YMCA, their whole philosophy of community focus. This is a gem. To save the environment, they would change linens every three days.

Besides the basic shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel there’s nothing else in the bathroom, anything else that you might need besides toilet paper you have to buy front the front desk. In the name of saving the environment, they only drop off clean towels daily without room cleaning. I had 2 bookings, 3 days and 2 days with 5 days in between. They wouldn’t allow me to switch to 3 and 2. The receptionist was not friendly at all. I used to love this hotel but now it’s only ok. It’s not bad

She didn’t properly explain the process or give clear instructions, but seemed to expect me to understand and follow them during check-in. She heaved a sigh twice. She didn’t seem to care that a customer was in front of her and openly expressed her frustration. Except her most of staff I met were nice The location of hotel is perfect even The view from room as well.
• thuynM3762RD (10/5): First time solo trip and stay - The room is a lot spacious than I expected for a single traveler. The room has an amazing view of Victoria Harbor. The bathroom comes with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, but I have to supply my own toothbrush, toothpaste, and hair brush. I didn't mind do much because I don't want to use 1 time use stuff. The hotel is close to the MTR so getting around is easy. If you're coming from the airport and taking the express train, it is recommended to take a taxi from Kowloon station. It's only $60 plus $5 for luggage so it's not much for 7 minutes ride. Remember to have cash. If you insist on not taking taxi, it's either 20ish walk or take the MTR around town before you can get to your stop. Honestly, just take the taxi if you have luggages. The room has a fridge, but it's big enough to cool your drinks, small snacks, or small take out. I said it cools, not cold so take it into consideration if you need a fridge. I know they have a self laundry room on the 7th floor but I haven't used it. I'm not sure there's a microwave, but I didn't need it for my trip. They have 1 universal plug converter so you can to charge your stuff. Overall, it's clean, spacious, location of good, and good value for the room.

The night view of Hong Kong Island, especially from the Harbour View rooms, is excellent compared to other hotels in Tsim Sha Tsui.

As it allows for free cancellation we also booked 5 nights for our return, so if it didn’t prove satisfactory we could cancel and rebook somewhere else. However, no need the hotel was in a brilliant location with just a 5 minute walk (and we’re nearly 80) to the avenue of stars which provides a lovely walk along the harbour front to the Star ferry where we booked a harbour tour but you can take to Hong Kong island. The hotel was spotlessly clean, both our room and the foyer. We used their cafe for lunch and the restaurant for breakfast which is a buffet style and again excellent quality. The room whilst not large was more than adequate. It had a water machine so one could have cold, warm or hot water for tea or coffee etc. more versatile than just a coffee maker. I think some people said the decor to be old and dated. So what it was fine by us and we’ve experienced far far worse. It would be difficult to find something else offering the same honest value anywhere else. So we would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and look forward to staying on the return trip home. One point I would make is when you read what the hotel offers it sounds like it does airport transfers but it doesn’t. However, all you need to do is get a taxi for about $HK 300. Easy!

The management handled the cancellation with incredible grace, offering us four complimentary breakfasts, a lovely fruit basket, and an invitation to their rooftop celebration to make things right. It was also my birthday during the stay, and I was touched to receive another fruit basket and a signature YMCA bear—a very thoughtful gesture! Highlights of the service: • Problem Solving: We noticed some noise from the elevator, and the staff proactively addressed it by stopping that specific elevator late at night so we could sleep soundly. • Housekeeping: The team was incredibly prompt. Whether it was opening/closing the sofa bed or bringing a kettle, they fulfilled every request immediately. The suite was kept spotless throughout our stay. • The Atmosphere: The staff are the true stars here. They are welcoming, friendly, and truly make you feel at home. I highly recommend this hotel for its prime location, but even more so for the wonderful people who run it. We will definitely be back!

• OnAir30759819959 (10/5): First class at best location at a fraction of the cost - Close to the MTR, Nathan Road, Ocean Center and the Star Ferry, overlooking the harbor in the heart of Tsim Sha Tsui, the Salisbury is by far the at best location in Kowloon and at about a quarter the price of the Peninsula next door. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are well furnished and immaculately maintained. But the best thing about the Salisbury the understated not in-your-face level of service provided by everyone from the doorman to the housekeepers to the concierge to the front desk receptionists. Yes I’ve stayed at other hotels over the years when I’ve been in Hong Kong on business but since I’ve retired I always come back to the Salisbury.

The service at "The Haven" restaurant was excellent again the staff was very helpful and attentive to my needs as I use a mobility walker. If I need to travel to Hong Kong again I would certainly use The Salisbury YMCA hotel again. Overall I would rate the "The Salisbury YMCA" hotel five star, the location is also excellent.

It's our preferred hotel in Hong Kong because of its location, the cleanliness, the room size, the food, and the service, from the front desk staff to the housekeeping staff to the restaurant staff to the concierge staff. I love the calm vibe the moment I walked into the hotel. We had a room facing Canton Rd which is a busy road but we couldn't hear any traffic noise at all, nor do we hear anything from the rooms next to us. It must be a well built building. The concierge staff is fantastic. We left a backpack in the taxi. Thanks to Chris at the concierge, we got it back in the end. Look forward to our next stay at The Salisbury!

The suite was spacious with a separate lounge room, dressing area, bedroom and bathroom. Great harbour views. Some outside music noise but this stopped before we went to bed. No neighbour noise or hallway noise. Tea and instant coffee provided. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash provided in the shower. Very good water pressure. Staff were professional. We arrived before the check in time, but could complete most of the paperwork immediately, leaving just the key card collection after check in time. Our bags were securely stored by the concierge in the meantime. Great location. 7-11 a half block away.
• YYYanZ (2/5): Poor service at Mall Café - My elder daughter was swimming nearby, so around 12:30 PM, I took my younger son to your café for lunch while waiting for her. I ordered two meals. When my daughter and our domestic helper joined us later, I had to leave early for an appointment. I settled the bill in advance and informed a waiter that my helper and children would remain at the table. However, today I learned from my helper that after I left, one waiter asked them to leave the café. According to her: My son became fussy, so she carried him outside to avoid disturbing other guests—still within clear sight of my 6-year-old daughter inside. My daughter was simply resting on the sofa. A waiter approached my helper and said, “She isn’t eating anyway,” gesturing for them to leave. This treatment is unacceptable. The waiter not only failed to show basic courtesy but also actively pressured a caregiver and young children to vacate their seats after the bill had been fully paid. It is disrespectful and reflects poorly on your establishment’s values.

Non refundable booking which I understand if they were losing money. However we want to check in a day after on 25th. They will not make acceptions. You would think they would use discretion as we've already paid of 24th and are losing out, however they won't let us check in a day later without paying a full fee for this. ABSURD. And now not replying back to email as I've asked the manager to contact me. Stress, anxiety and damn right anger! How is this ACCEPTABLE!!!!!! Anything for a few more pounds!

The rooms were clean and spacious enough for our 3 nights, the beds were comfortable, and we enjoyed our harbour view from the 10th floor. The hotel is in a great location with lots of attractions and transport links close by, including the Star Ferry. We didn't initially book breakfast as Nicole is vegan, so we prefer to size up our options when we arrive. As it happens, there weren't many places that we could find to cater for her nearby, so we ended up using the hotel buffet breakfast, which not only was great value but also able to provide her with a substantial and balanced breakfast every morning. Also, I can thoroughly recommend the egg station; the man doing the eggs had mine cooked to perfection every morning. All in all, we found The Salisbury is a great place to stop and would stay there again if ever we find ourselves in HK

Several interactions felt abrupt, and the overall attitude from the team often came across as uninterested or unhelpful. Even if a request cannot be fulfilled, staff members are generally expected to explain alternatives or provide reassurance, but this was not the case. The lack of courtesy and willingness to assist was unexpected for a hotel of this level. Additionally, I had requested a rollaway bed over a week in advance and received confirmation that it would be prepared. However, although I was initially told at check-in—and again over the phone—that the rollaway bed might not be possible, it was eventually set up, but only after a long wait and without any clear explanation or proactive assistance. This inconsistency in communication created unnecessary inconvenience and gave the impression that guest requests were not handled with proper attention. The only reason I gave even one star for service was because of the exceptionally kind female staff member working near the parking area on the 28th. Her attitude was the standard of hospitality I had expected, and I sincerely hope the front desk team can learn from the level of professionalism she displayed.

With many well-known attractions nearby, the area is ideal for both business and sightseeing. The rooms are also noticeably larger and more comfortable compared to many other hotels in Hong Kong. Because of all these advantages, my overall satisfaction has always been very high. I plan to stay at this hotel for all my future Hong Kong business tours as well. It has consistently been a reliable and enjoyable place to stay.

• E4009VUdavida (10/5): YMCA Salisbury — key to making the most of a visit to Hong Kong - We always stay at the YMCA Salisbury when visiting Hong Kong and have been using the hotel for over 20 years, initially staying in the family suites (when our children were young) and more recently in double rooms (now that the children have grown up and left home). We really love the atmosphere and excellent service culture of the YMCA Salisbury that combine to provide an outstanding stress-free, relaxed environment. The rooms are spacious, clean and well-appointed, and the beds are extremely comfortable. We’ve always found the staff to be courteous and helpful, and the interaction of housekeeping staff has been uniformly excellent over the years. We mostly eat out when in HK, but we do love the food and ambience of the Haven Restaurant on the 4th floor (which has super views) as well as the Mall Café adjacent to the lobby. These provide great places for inviting local friends and family in HK to catch up in a quiet and peaceful atmosphere, and we always enjoy the food. The location of the YMCA Salisbury is perfect for getting around HK with minimal transport time. We particularly love being able to unwind with some of the magical evening walks over the hills of Hong Kong Island and then walk down to Central or Wan Chai for the Star Ferry back to the Tsim Sha Tsui terminal, which is only 5 minutes' walk from the YMCA Salisbury. The location also provides immediate access onto the Tsim Sha Tsui promenade (less crowded if you walk along to the Hung Hom promenade) for cool night-time strolls with the fabulous lights of the harbour. For us, the YMCA Salisbury is the key for making the most of a trip to our favourite place on Earth, Hong Kong. Whether you're looking for the excitement of Hong Kong city bustle, the breathtaking civil engineering, the wonder of Hong Kong's natural environment, the taste experience of Hong Kong eating, the richness and dazzle of Hong Kong shopping or the peace and tranquility of Hong hiking trails, this hotel provides the perfect environment and location for a wonderful stay and getting the most out of your visit.

• Jlungyee (10/5): Hotel is great but better not making any changes in your reservation,otherwise is a nightmare! - The hotel facility & staff are wonderful! However, it was extremely difficult to modify the reservation when we need to change the dates. Absolutely impossible! We were told by the hotel no changes are allowed, we had to cancel the current reservation & re-book a new one! No other hotel chain such as the Hilton, Marriott or Sheraton requires that. When we re-book again on line, we end up booking thru an agent by mistake instead of booking directly with YMCA, causing us grief & paying a lot of money.

Room was spacious with nice view of the city. Great service provided by the front desk and concierge. Definitely recommend and will stay again next time we are in Hong Kong. One thing was new to us, we had to turn the hot water switch on, which we had not experienced before. It heats very, very fast, once we figured out we need to turn it on.
• Excursion17597471688 (8/5): Great Location, Minimal Amenities - The Salisbury, YMCA of Hong Kong, is a budget-oriented hotel located right next to The Peninsula in Tsim Sha Tsui. From a Japanese point of view, the absence of basic amenities such as a toothbrush set, a razor and even complimentary bottled water makes the price feel slightly high for what is provided. However, the location is excellent. It takes only a few minutes on foot to reach Tsim Sha Tsui Station, and Victoria Harbour is also within easy walking distance. As a base for exploring Hong Kong, choosing this hotel is one of the smartest decisions you can make. Our room came with a partial harbour view, and we were able to watch the Symphony of Lights clearly from the window. The view alone made the stay worthwhile.

Super. • Room 10/10 Good size, nicely and contemporary design plenty of storage. Partial seaview was lovely. • Bathroom 10/10 Good size. Plenty of hot water. Good quality shower gel and shampoo as well as the towels. Also like the extra hairdryer in the drawer. • Duty Manger 10/10 Friendly and efficient made our stay a more pleasant one. •Concierge 10/10 Friebdly, polite and very helpful •Swimming pool 10/10 We loved the 25m pool. Very good opening hours. Very well managed, clean and adequately heated. We stayed for 18 nights from mid October to the beginning of November. It was a very pleasant experience and we would love to go back next year.
