The staff in the front is very friendly. We did the Turkish hamman and they were able to accommodate children. This is a very family friendly hotel.

Staff was friendly and let us check in early as our room was ready early. Definitely recommend. Location is far from the airport you will need to Uber/cab it there. Hotel offers 50 euro transportation. Using metro can take 2hrs with transfers. We opted for Uber (most users are cabs). Location and breakfast was most important to us and air conditioning. This place was perfect. We booked two rooms because we have older kids. The had two rooms connected with a locking door (very nice to have that). Highly recommend this hotel!!!

The staff were outstanding—special thanks to Yaseen and Zulfiye, who were especially helpful and friendly throughout my stay. Their warm hospitality really made a difference. The breakfast was a highlight—fresh, tasty, and a perfect start to the day. The location is also fantastic, literally right next to the trams, which made getting around so convenient. I’d definitely stay here again and highly recommend it!

We were upgraded and thoroughly loved it. The staff is very kind, helpful and easy to understand. The best is the breakfast just delicious and again the rooftop view is amazing. Excellent location to sites, facilities r great, staff was excellent and very clean. Food preparation was amazing

It can be noisy at night but that’s just the reality of a top tourist area. For me it’s about convenience and service and comfort. The breakfast is fine but I wish they’d give the option of green chilli’s for Asian guests. The staff are very pleasant.

Elena (10/5): - Lapis Inn was probably the most convenient hotel we have ever stayed in. The location is the best, you just cannot find anything better and specially for the price. When we came to Istanbul, we did not want to drive around on the Taxi,. And the priority was the location, we definitely achieved it to us Lapis Inn. Downtown is just few minutes away, the grand bazaar, all kinds of shopping, pork… If you just want to stay in Istanbul and enjoy the culture, the food and the shopping this is the most perfect spot to stay. Even though it’s located right in the center, the hotel is very quiet I think because the entrance is not on the street but hidden away. When you are hungry, you just have to go downstairs and step out of the hotel, they million of great restaurants steps away. Very nice and cozy hookah bar right outside of the hotel, when you come out, just turn left. And never-ending shopping is right outside of the hotel. There’s also a great breakfast, variety of different foods for every diet Gorgeous for you from the terrace on the roof while you have your breakfast. It is a very clean hotel, not super fancy, but very clean. Hamam is also a must experience.

Victoria (10/5): Wonderful location - We stayed in the corner suite (#501) on the top floor. There were only 2 rooms on that floor. Most of the floor was taken up by a terrace with an amazing view and the breakfast area. I loved the location on the hotel and the room. The AC unit blows straight into my head (I did not like it). The bathroom area was much newer than the bedroom area (I like both of them). The breakfast included many kinds of fresh cheese a couple of types of fruits, vegetables. There were 4 types of hot dishes for breakfast that were different every day. In the afternoon, there was tea and cookies for the guests. The staff was very helpful and nice.

Stunning view from rooftop cafe - at breakfast, throughout the day and especially in the evening at prayer call time. Just amazing - worth the cost of the room alone. Good mix of fare for breakfast buffet + freshly cooked omelette. SAKIR was a star - so helpful, kind and diligent. Definitely recommend it.

Iustitia6605 (10/5): Excellent hotel, recommended1 - This is a very nice small hotel in a wonderful position, right in the centre of the old town, minutes from all the sights. The rooms are clean and well equipped (fridge, coffee making, air conditioning, iron, toiletries), and the staff were very friendly. There is a spa/hamam at extra cost. The hotel has an amazing rooftop terrace where an excellent breakfast is offered, overlooking the Hagia Sofia. Overall, highly recommended!

Malcolm (10/5): - We had a fabulous family stay at the Lapis Inn. We had a spacious family room which was cleaned daily and fresh water bottles added every day. The views from the terrace are amazing and the surrounding historical sites within easy walking distance. The area is full of restaurants and shops. Breakfast choice was brilliant with eggs cooked to order perfectly (thanks chef!). The staff were excellent - all friendly and welcoming. Fully recommended.

Fatimai (8/5): Another great stay in Sultanamet - This was my second stay at Lapis inn hotel and spa (previously known as The Ambassador hotel) and because my experience at The Ambassador in 2016 was so good, I didnt even have to think about accommodation and immediately decided on Lapis Inn. The hotel is situated right there at Sultanamet Square close to all the important tourist sites (Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, Grand Bazaar, Basilica Cistern and Gulhane Park) all within easy walking distance, so once again I was very happy with my overall stay. All staff but especially Unal and Selchuk on the front desk were extremely helpful and informative. Fikret the general all rounder, Belgin the breakfast chef served the best menemen/omelet as well as Tashie (breakfast helper from Kenya) and Mehmet. All these individuals contributed to a great stay and made us feel like family. I should also mention the nice cleaning ladies Gulshen and Zuleyha who keeps the hotel spotless. Even though the star rating is now less than The Ambassador - and I could see why - the hotel is definitely a go to again on my next visit

Rashid was really helpful at reception and so we’re the rest of the hotel staff. Breakfast on the 5th floor had amazing views ! The terrace is a really nice place to relax and take in the views. Loads of food places right on your doorstep as well! Will definitely be staying again !

Meowwww1968 (10/5): Fantastic hotel for all my needs! - We booked the Deluxe Room for 3 nights. Upon arrival at 11am we were given the room straight away, thanks!! We had requested for a room on a high floor and allocated a room on their 5th floor, same floor as the breakfast terrace cafe. Our Deluxe room (501) didn’t look like the photos but perhaps those photos were of the old Ambassador Hotel. And it seems smaller as well. However, I’m not complaining since it is a corner room thus have loads of windows with decent views. Despite nothing exciting but good enough, especially since prior to arrival the hotel had communicated that the rooms have no view. Thus, it exceeded my expectations 😁. And it’s great that we were on the same floor as the terrace. Feels like our own home! Aircond was slightly an issue since it was blowing warm air. Reception informed April is still winter mode so no cold aircond. We solved the issue by turning it off and opening the windows wide. No noise whatsoever. Bathroom not my favourite since the shower had just a partial barrier so the floor right by the shower entrance did get wet. Breakfast - Pretty basic but they did offer freshly fried egg/omelet. The view was AMAZING though! Location - Excellent, so many eateries in the surroundings. And just a minute walk to the Sultanahmet Tram Stop. Very easy to find, just in a walkway next to Adonin Cafe & Restaurant. I would definitely stay here again the next time I’m in Istanbul. The most convenient place and the best value amongst the 3 hotels I shortlisted.

Fardeen (4/5): - Shower head so badly calcium encrusted, water came only out the sides. Biddet inside the shower, felt unsanitary as water would splash out of the biddet onto you as you tried to shower with the restricted shower head. Shower was very mouldy. TV did not work at all. Room felt like it had no noise insulation, could hear everything, footsteps, people speaking. I stayed on the 4th floor underneath the rooftop restaurant, staff sat out on the 5th floor until 2am chatting, lack of insulation meant I could hear everything. Small selection for breakfast. Staff seemed indifferent and not approachable or friendly.

I have stayed there 3 times in two years, Staff is also always eager to help you. Tram is passing just behind the hotel, if you want you can visit the other parts of the city by tram easily..

Shamsun (8/5): - The view! Nothing and nothing beats the view from the rooftop. The standard room is quite small, but deluxe rooms were good. Good breakfast and amazing helpful staff. The location is super convenient as well, so many restaurants, tram are within walking distance and ofcourse Sultanahmet square. Overall a very pleasing to experience. Definitely recommend it.

diana amer (6/5): - I stayed about 10 nights and it was okay. The location was amazing and the restaurant on top roof was very nice all modern and clean with panoramic view of the city. The rooms were so small, old and dirty. Shower was horrible. They are writing in the website that they have service to clean the room. But they didn’t. After one week of my stay a guy asked me if he should clean my room. I don’t really recommend it because there’s a lot other good locations in istanbul with better hotels.

JoanitaR15 (8/5): Best location for the Old Town - We recently stayed at the Lapis Inn Hotel while in Istanbul. This Hotel offers the perfect location for the Old Town. It offers great views of Hagia Sofia and the Sultanahmet Mosque. The tram is a minute's walk away and can take you all the way to the ferry connections and the New District. Even the Grand Bazaar is less than 10 minutes walk away. The hotel was very clean and the staff were exceptional. Everyone was very friendly, professional and always willing to assist.

Verified traveler (6/5): Horrible pour le bruit mais personnel très gentil - Le personnel est très gentil et vraiment serviable c’est le seul point positif. Le gros point négatif c’est le BRUIT, les femmes de ménage parle devant votre porte des 6h du matin. Les mûres ne sont pas isolé on entend les gens en haut parler rigoler jusqu’à 2h du matin. Donc nous nous sommes pas du tout reposer entre les femmes de ménage qui parle et font énormément de bruit dès 6h du matin et les autres clients qui font du bruit jusqu’à 2h du matin. Je ne recommande pas du tout l’hôtel si vous faites un long séjour. Mais très bien pour 1 nuit.

Asraar (10/5): - I stayed at this hotel with my family for six nights, we all had a very pleasant experience. The hosts and the cleaning and catering staff were very helpful and polite. The hotel rooms were clean and had all of the facilities that we needed. The location of the hotel was great, all of the main attractions and restaurants that we wanted to visit were in walking distance. The view of some of the city's attractions from the terrace of the hotel was absolutely amazing. I would definitely consider staying at this Hotel again in the future if I visit Istanbul.

I initially picked this hotel for its convenient location - at a walking distance from public transportation and many historical sites - but every staff member were delightful and eager to help! Thank you Selçuk and Ünal at the front desk. Bilda and the restaurant staff, your smiles brighten our days every morning. Would definitely stay there again.
KatarinaGran (10/5): Million dollar view for a budget price! - The location and the terasse view are one of the best in Sultanahmet area. The staff is very kind and helpful! The rooms are simple but you have anything that you need! Also a kettle with cofee and tea! They even bring you big bottle of water every day! The breakfast is OK! I would visit it again in a heart beat!
