Nous avions réservé des lits jumeaux et avons eu un grand lit. Les toilettes ne fonctionnaient pas correctement. La propreté de la chambre laissait à désirer (poussière pas faite depuis des années), moisissure dans la salle de bains. Lit fait à la va vite, nous avons trouvé un ongle cassé dans le lit, il ne nous appartenait pas. Papier toilette et gel douche ne sont pas remplacés si vides. Bouteilles d’eau gratuites le premier soir puis facturées 2,50 euros, pas digne d’un hôtel de ce standing. Fenêtre laissée ouverte par le personnel de ménage toute la journée, invasion de moustiques garantie le soir. Quand l’aéroport met en garde contre les cas de dengue, cela est inquiétant. Le clou du séjour : nous avons trouvé notre porte grande ouverte en rentrant le soir vers 18h-19h, laissée ouverte par le personnel de ménage. Heureusement aucun vol à signaler mais expérience extrêmement stressante. Aucun geste commercial de la part du management.

The terrace was such a peaceful place to watch the gondolas go by in the canal. It also had an elevator which was so helpful for my parents with limited mobility. A bit pricey but worth the splurge!

Chambre joliment décorés, excellent literie, personnel aimable et bon petit déjeuner. Pour ce tarif de chambre, il manque néanmoins une machine Nespresso ou à minima une bouilloire et quelques sachet de tisane et de thé au regard du prix payé. Salle de bain qui mérite une remise à jour. C'est vieillot soit, cela fait parti du charme de Venise, mais la paroi de touche ne se ferme pas bien (et on dirait que ça ne date pas d'hier) et le robinet du lavabo un peu dur à manipuler. D'autres part, les 2 matins, l'eau ne reste pas chaude en continue, on passe de temps en temps par du moins chaud. ça réveille :(

- CK (8/5): très bien situé, personnel très sympathique - Personnel extrêmement sympathique et serviable. Chambre bien équipée et lit confortable. Hôtel parfaitement situé, proche de tout. Petit-déjeuner très bien (mais y aller tôt, car la salle est petite et plus c'est tard, plus c'est rempli). C'est très mal insonorisé (c'est un bâtiment ancien) et si on a des voisins pas compréhensifs, on entend leurs rires, leurs discussions et aussi la télé jusqu'à minuit passé. La taverne à côté est très bien et donne un petit pourcentage aux clients de l'hôtel, mais c'est extrêmement cher et plutôt à éviter finalement - dommage.

The door didn't lock properly, the shower didn't drain. The AC didn't work as advertised. The restaurant below us was loud and made sleeping with the window open difficult, but was necessary since there was no AC.

En complément le calme du quartier et la gentillesse du personnel. Les chambres ou salle d eau a rafraîchir mais il a bcp davantage. Nous reviendrons dans cet hôtel sans hésiter

Staff friendly and available very quickly, even though not needed. Maybe have shower gel, shampoo and toothpaste available in the bathrooms. I never take toiletries when I travel, there is always a question of liquid bottle sizes at airport security.

The breakfast was another highlight, offering a great selection of fresh and delicious options to start the day. What really made the experience stand out, though, was the staff. They were exceptionally welcoming, warm, and attentive throughout my stay, always ready to help with a smile. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a perfect combination of comfort, location, and genuine hospitality in Venice! Probably, because of its central location, it can be quite noisy in the summer. However, if you want to enjoy the city, just avoid visiting during peak seasons ;)

- Catherine Marie (6/5): Room with terrace needs cleaning thoroughly under the beds and fumigating to kill the ants coming in through the walls. - Close to most places of interest and shopping and restaurants. Room with terrace was not very clean. Cobwebs in room and bathroom. There were tiny ants in bathroom on the floor around shower and the whole room was covered in ants too. When we moved our cases from under the bed, it was filthy and dusty and clearly had not been hoovered in a while as dust flew out and ants were crawling everywhere. We were only staying one more night once more ants and dust under beds was discovered so wasn’t worth reporting but it did kind of spoil the holiday.

It’s wonderful close to everything, easy to get around, and convenient for going out. I also like the decoration of the room, the colours and the choice of furniture match the character and name of the hotel. The single room I stayed was small and dark. It had a heated floor in one corner. I’m not sure if it was because the room was above the kitchen, but it became quite warm during the day and in the evening. If the window wasn’t open, it was too hot to sleep comfortably. The window also had no view, it faced a small enclosed courtyard and there was often a smell of weed from the neighbouring area at night. However, if I closed the window to avoid the smell, the room became too hot. The shower drain does not flow well and probably needs a pump, as the water floods the shower tray after a shower. There two small shampoo bottles, if ran out they are not being replaced and the quality was quite low. There is also no kettle in the room.

Whilst very close to the La Fenice Opera House it is situated in a small quiet square and avoids the hustle and bustle that you get around the Opera House. The rear of the hotel overlooks another small quiet square. The buildings opposite the rear of the hotel are used by the opera house performers. Sometimes in the rear facing rooms, particularly if you have your window open you can hear some of the performers rehearsing. But this is never intrusive or annoying. It is a good location for exploring Venice. You are close to the Piazza St Angelo where you can continue across the edge of the square to head towards the St Angelo stop for the Vaporetto (water bus) and Alilaguna (airport Service) stop. Or, turn left diagonally across the square for the shortest route to the Accademia Bridge and on towards Ferrovia (Venezia St Lucia railway station). If you start from the La Fenice Opera house there are several routes to take you towards San Marco (10 to 15 minutes) and onwards. In Venice once you gain a sense of the direction you are heading for, all roads lead to your destination. It is of course the staff that ultimately make or break any hotel. For the Hotel La Fenice we would rate all of the staff as excellent. Over the years that we have visited we have seen a few changes in staff (retirement etc.) and when new staff are recruited, they always have the same ethos, customer focus and are friendly and helpful. This of course is both a tribute to the staff themselves and the hotel management who choose the correct people for the job and also create such a good working atmosphere to enable their staff flourish. We usually visit in mid to late March and always look forwards to our return. It is always like a return visit to see family or old friends.
