Guest Reviews
- Yuko (8/5): - Very good breakfast.
Close to Acropolis and lots of places to eat.
There was a very clean Laundramat nearby.
Room was old but clean.
- Jim (8/5): - Breakfast menu was really great with lots of options.
- Jerilyn (10/5): - Small quaint room with a balcony in a great location.
- thaddeus (10/5): - Best shower ! Good a/c

Clean premises
- Swati (10/5): - Nice location, very walkable.
- Barbara (8/5): - This hotel was really beautiful in design, cleanliness, and an incredible location right near the main Plaka in Athens. It was fantastic for all of those things. That being said, the staff at the front desk both when we checked in and departed were really unpleasant and, as a result, unprofessional. It was as if we were bothering them. The facility itself is perfect but they need to work with their staff on courtesy and kindness to customers.
- robert (10/5): - Nice hotel in a great location. Everything walking distance and
- Vincent Patrick (6/5): - only there 1 night. nothing special about property. located off main roads.
- Richard (8/5): - Perfect for short stay
- Verified traveler (10/5): Very comfortable stay, excellent breakfast. - Very clean and comfortable rooms. Location was good too, just 10-15 min walk to Acropolis. The view of Acropolis from the hotel rooftop is partial and that too if no one else is sitting there, but the sister property (Plaka Hotel), which is 5 min away has excellent views from its rooftop bar. Gentleman at the desk during check-out was bit rude, but others were very nice. The free breakfast is very very nice and had a good variety of continental and Greek dishes.
- Autumn (10/5): - Staff was friendly and very healpful
- Robert (8/5): - A small hotel located in a quiet street very near the Plaka. Check in was easy and staff was very accommodating. Rooms are on the small side, but they were comfortable and the air conditioning worked really well.
I thought the breakfast buffet was wonderful with a nice variety including eggs, bacon, sausage, pastries, yogurt, deli meats, croissants etc.
Hotel allowed us to store luggage after check out before we had to transfer to Piraeus for our cruise.
- Eve (10/5): - Clean and comfortable. Friendly staff. Lovely breakfast. Close to stores and restaurants.
- Shinian (10/5): Nice hotel in a convenient location - Very nice and convenient location in the middle of the market area. Staff were friendly and helpful.

- Golan (8/5): - Very small rooms
- Andrew (10/5): - Hermes Hotel was amazing! The staff was super helpful. The property was very clean.
The room was lovely, and I even had my own balcony! The complimentary breakfast was lovely. Everything about the place is great.
It is located very close to many of the main attractions of old city Athens. Aspro Alogo is a lovely restaurant just down the street. Lycabettus hill is merely a stroll away.
There is no reason not to stay here!
- Joan (10/5): - In the centre but quite. Mostly helpful front desk helping us with taxi issue when arriving mid of the night and finding us a travel agent last minute due to our credit card issue for booking on line. Andrian (Andrew) is the one who helped us.
- Jacqueline (10/5): - Good Breakfast in the Morning, quiet area , over all good hotel , close to all the shopping and r
- Rose (10/5): - Great location in Plaka, just a few blocks from Plaka restaurants and Acropolis in one direction, Syntagma Metro stop in other direction. Helpful staff. Comfy beds. Decent breakfast buffet. Property is a bit dated. Hotel next-door has great rooftop restaurant/bar with a terrific acropolis view.
- John (10/5): - All good
- Joe (10/5): - Fantastic location in Plakka. Great staff who were very attentive. Excellent value.
- Pierrot (10/5): - hotel room is too narrow

- Emily (10/5): - Nothing
- Stephen (10/5): - Not a lot of details, sorry...just a very pleasant stay. Location in the Plaka; we walked all over Athens. Room was clean and efficient. Very quiet area. View from the rooftop of the Parthenon. My favorite thing was staff was very helpful. The day before checkout they were making sure we would get breakfast before we left.

We arrived earlier than our check-in and we were able to store our luggage there throughout the day, which was very convenient. Great little neighborhood and very walkable to restaurants and shopping. Also, very walkable to the acropolis and other attractions.
- Jackie (10/5): - Overall it was great the cleanliness of the bathroom needs improvement. Staff was wonderful!
- Barbara (8/5): - Excellent location in the Plaka area, walk to all the sights there. Very Quiet, no street noise. Excellent breakfast!
- Lingyan (8/5): Good over all - The location is convenient, and the staff was friendly. Their bathroom needs some update. The shower head did not work very well and there was no plug for the tub.
- liliana (6/5): - It was clean, breakfast was good
- Aymee Verdera (10/5): - Great service. We had a comfortable room and a good variety in the breakfast options.
- Eric (10/5): - excellent
- Celine (8/5): - Due to flights delays, we arrived at the hotel in the middle of the night. The person at the reception was courteous, clear and helpful. The room was small and the air conditioning was too cold, but it was very clean and quiet with a nice little terrace I cannot comment about the surrounding area, the service and the breakfast as we had to rush out of bed to catch our cruise ship. If I were to return to Athens, I would definitely go to this hotel again
- moly (8/5): - Great location, every easy to go around to most of the important attractions. Front desk staff was very nice and friendly. We reached there around 8.30 am and were able to keep our bags and came back around 12pm, our room was ready. Breakfast was good, enough stuffs. Hop on bus stop is 5 minutes away. If we go there again we will stay there because of the location. and also recommend this hotel.
- Joy (10/5): - Excellent stay, close to everything. Ckean and comfortable. Breakfast excellent choices and taste.
- Betty (6/5): - The staff weren’t friendly at all.
- Simone (10/5): Great Stay - Really great stay, hotel staff were lovely. Rooms were very clean, balcony and roof top terrace were very welcome too. Would stay here again.
- Sinara (10/5): - It was very convenient to stay at Hermes Hotel. It is near transportation, restaurants, touristic places. We loved!

- Chee Keong (10/5): - Great staff and friendly
- Jodie (8/5): - Good place to stay.
- shalini (10/5): - Location of the property is very good. Front staff was very courteous and helpful. Rooms are very small but overall good experience.
- Joseph (10/5): - Great!
- Cheryl J (8/5): - Good location for exploring the Plaka area of Athens and visiting the Acropolis. Liked that it was just a couple streets outside of the main tourist area. Great breakfast. Only one side of the hotel has Acropolis views, but I enjoyed our view of the city and rooftop restaurants.
- Michele Lynn (10/5): - Excellent breakfast buffet, I wish it would have opened earlier. I would stay there again and recommend to anyone going to the area. We were pleased with the quiet area.
- Chris (10/5): Quiet, Friendly Boutique Hotel - A very nice, clean and friendly boutique hotel in an excellent location... you'll notice you are a 4 to 6 minute walk to most points of interest, while staying in a quiet area of town. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great for visiting Athens centre and the Acropolis - Really convenient location near the city centre and few minutes walk from the Parthenon and Acropolis museum.
The extra bed was on the small side but other than that room was good size.
- Michael (10/5): - Walkable to the Acropolis, shopping and dining options
- Jeremiah (10/5): - The Hermes is a centrally located hotel in Athens. Friendly staff, cozy room, and fabulous breakfast buffet.
- Michele (8/5): - Staff was welcoming and helpful. Elevator was crazy and did not accommodate well but other than that the property was good and in a good area. Tneir sister property has an amazing rooftop bar that they told us about that made our whole trip to Athens wonderful.
- David Yunior (10/5): - Good location!
Tasty breakfast!
- Ada (10/5): - Attentive staff! Super location. Great breakfast.
- Shelby (8/5): - The hotel staff was great, location perfect, breakfast was very good but could use a bit more variety… such as fried eggs or soft boiled instead of hard boiled and scrambled every day, etc.. but what they had was very good. Beds were comfortable and the pillows too. This was very important to me as I recently had a total hip replacement and will be having total knee replacement surgery back to back over the next few months. Hotel was very clean and the coffee and tea station in the lobby was always enjoyed and appreciated. It would be nice if they had an on-site restaurant or sandwich area that served Greek coffee or beverages. The only thing I am unsure about is our room, I had booked a superior room with hopes of having a balcony with chairs and a table to sit and have coffee at. We did have a balcony but it was not big enough or have any seating or a table so I’m not sure we were given the room we actually reserved. We were delayed by a day on arrival due to the Athens/Greece transportation strike so we arrived at 3:00-3:30 in the morning the next day. Regardless it was a good room and we will be staying there again as we go regularly and still have family and friends there. I also booked a separate room (standard) for my daughter and her boyfriend as we took them as a Christmas present to see where her grandparents (my parents) came from and to meet that side of our family. Their room was wonderful! They also loved the breakfast, coffee/tea station, staff and amenities.
- Mariam (8/5): - The hotel was clean and the staff very well. We had been delayed due to the transportation strike so we didn’t arrive until after 3:00am I am unsure if we received the room we were supposed to have. Overall we will definitely stay here again. Breakfast was very good but could use a bit more variety. The location is excellent. Hotel is very clean.
- Edna (10/5): - Perfect location, reasonable price, highly recommended
- Martina (8/5): - The facility is old but clean and accommodating. Price is reasonable. Location is excellent.
- Jennifer (10/5): - STAFF WAS EXTREMELY HELPFUL
- Robert (10/5): - Great location. Very good breakfast. Clean and quiet.
- astha (8/5): - Great location. Decent breakfast and very clean. The building itself is a bit dated, but we’ll maintained nonetheless
- Virginia (8/5): - The location was perfect. The beds were hard. The breakfast food was delicious. The People who worked there were very friendly and helpful
- Rachel (6/5): Good Place for the Price - This is a solid to a good place to stay. The location is great. They served breakfast...we stayed at a few locations in Athens, Crete and Santorini and this was our least favorite breakfast. I might even say it was a bad breakfast. This place was perfect for our 1 night stay, anytime past 2 nights, might be a bit much.
- Josue (10/5): - Great location for this small but lovely hotel. Needs some updating, but can't be beat for where it is and the value. Ok breakfast, good wifi, friendly enough from front staff. Super friendly and accommodating cleaning and service staff. They really listened to our requests. My wife was very happy with that, which made me happy :)
- Julio (10/5): - Good
- Darcy (10/5): - Nice room with great AC, wonderful location, excellent breakfast...would stay again
- Dan (10/5): - Front desk staff very helpful. Property is well maintained. Great location.
- Christina (8/5): - Breakfast and location were great !
- Roula (8/5): - I’m going to return the key for the connecting doors for room 301-302. I just found it. Everything and everyone was very nice. Bed was hard to sleep on.
- REY CHRIS (8/5): - Accessible to restaurants, shopping, taxi. Staff members were friendly and helpful.
- juan (10/5): - Excellent location , Excellent breakfast and staff very kind and helpful
- Christelle (10/5): - Super well located. Nice place. Great breakfast. Enjoyed it. Super friendly staff.
- Paige (10/5): - Everything was awesome. Breakfast was phenomenal. The hosts at the front desk was beyond helpful. There is so much hospitality in Greece, and the Hermes definitely showed that.
- Sandra (10/5): - Great location! Delicious breakfast! Friendly staff. Would stay here again any time.
- Antonio (10/5): - Reception was of grest help during our stay.
Breakfast included was very good
Our cleaning lady Emilia, was very good and friendly
- Lance (8/5): - The staff were extremely accommodating and friendly. They were kind enough to allow me to keep my upgrade when i extended - thank you !
Breakfast was nice and the balcony view was fantastic. Not all Athens hotels have nice balcony views but this one did so I am glad I booked here. True some aspects of the hotel are 'dated' but the staff services, location and balconies make up for it. The area is perfect as it is very central but also surrounded by creative shops, a wide array of restaurant types and a stone-throw away from all see-worthy landmarks.
- Denise (10/5): Great Breakfast, great location - Nice hotel for a good price. Very nice location. Really great breakfast selection! I was surprised at how much there was to choose from
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great option in city center - Great checkin and we were upgraded to a beautiful room with a balcony. Efficient service and nice breakfast which included eggs. Comfortable bed and large bathroom. Good working ac.
- richard (10/5): - Great location in Palma district. Easy walk to Acropolis, shopping, and restaurants. Great breakfast
- S (10/5): Wonderful location - It was a one night stay for us at the hotel and it was wonderful. The location is very central to all important locations in the city and also the airport bus stop at Syntagma. The breakfast was also really good and tasty. The room and bathroom was little small but that is expected in a hotel so central in an old city like Athens.
- Mark (10/5): Great location - The staff was awesome. Allowed early check in and late check out.
- Danita (8/5): - Older hotel centrally located and walking distance to main tourist sites. Clean, pleasant staff and includes breakfast. Good for a short stay.
- Lloyd (4/5): - N/A
- Orla (8/5): Excellent location - The rooms were clean but a bit smaller than expected.
Central location. View of Acropolis from rooftop.
Excellent cleaning precautions taken throughout the property.
Breakfast was good.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The Hermes Hotel is in the Plaka. We were two blocks away from Syntagma, where we could take the metro and/or bus X-95 to the Airport. We could walk down to the flea market and walk around the south side of the Acropolis. The included breakfast was amazing --this is no Motel-8 continental breakfast. Although we arrived before check in time, we were given our room. We dropped off our luggage and went to eat right across the Ancient Agora, a row of wonderful Greek Restaurants.
- james (10/5): Friendly central Athens hotel - It was my 5th stay in the Plaka or it’s sister Hotel, the Hermes. The Plaka did not disappoint at all. I was given a lovely room, on the top floor looking at the Parthenon! Breakfast is superb. Staff friendly. Room small but very clean, quiet and comfortable
- Emilie (10/5): - Nice view of Acropolis and really good breakfast m, spacious room highly recommended
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great location, great hotel - Location was excellent for sightseeing--walked everywhere we wanted to go. Breakfast was delicious. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was pleasant. The adjoining rooms were perfect for our family. The only thing to improve would be to fix the shower stall so that water did not escape to leave puddles on the floor. Still, we would definitely stay here again!
