We only stayed one night, in a small but comfortable room with ensuite. Receptionist / staff welcoming, knowledgeable and very friendly. Would stay again, if more than one night I would get a bigger room next time. Overall highly recommend 🤗 Bathroom could definitely be cleaned / cleaner (shower grout and tiles) .. Our room did have an unpleasant musty smell, opening the window helped.. Waking up to housekeeping knocking and unlocking door to get in was surprising / not ideal.. Other than those couple things, everything was good 🤗

Great for concerts at the Entertainment Quarter and Allianz Stadium. Lovely staff. The building has great potential as a heritage building but it was very run-down and the bedrooms were tired and old fashioned. Our first room had a broken door so they moved us to a room in the carpark. It felt claustrophobic and unappealing. We didn't stay and left before checking in. It was not up to our standard, especially for the money the room cost. It was not cheap! But the staff were very understanding and kind.

Marta (6/5): Good location, very average stay unless you upgrade your room - Location and the vintage look I paid for breakfast but if I didn’t I could get the same at $10 as they only had a small display cafe in the front open to public 🤦🏼‍♀️ The toilets were not clean and the toilet bean had not been emptied and was full and gross :(

Lois (3/5): Thoroughly unpleasant - Location was superb. Bed linen and towels were fine There was a damp smell everywhere and the carpets were filthy. After some rain there was a constant drip onto the carpet in our room 17. The entire property needs refurbished and is not deserving of a 4 star rating
Marc (6/5): As expected - Nice to have breakfast included, which is delivered quickly. The noise at the door and on the street is consistent at night. The property is old, so the sound travels easily throught the windows and walls at the front.

Fiona (8/5): - The Hughenden is a well-located, good value hotel. An easy bus ride to both the CBD and the beaches, it’s also well situated for cafes and shops. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The property could do with a bit of a refresh.

Jennifer (7/5): Love the staff location. Rooms, walls should be upgraded. New carpet and paint. - Proximity to scg. Staff Musty smell in room. Bin in bathroom not emptied before our stay. Outer gate with code not closed. Noise from above bathroom pipes loud. Felt like our room was almost in the car park.

Robyn (8/5): - Location, walking distance to the Entertainment Quarter, stadium etc Quirky vibe, older building and amenities but all the basics are there. Light breakfast included at in-house Cafe. Security was dodgy, relying on other guests to keep coded gates and doors locked after hours. I found them left open on several occasions.

Helen (8/5): Great value for money in a lovely heritage hotel. - Heritage feel, good facilities. We liked the location and were particularly pleased to find it had affordable laundry facilities. Decor a little faded - could do with a tidy up and repaint.

Shirley (7/5): Friendly hotel in good location. - Friendly staff, friendly atmosphere, good AC, very comfortable bed. Comfortable and spacious lobby. Good bathroom though the sink was very tiny. Easy access to public transportation. Good coffee, and appreciated the included light breakfast. Small room.with a musty smell and worn carpeting. Hall carpeting badly in need of cleaning or replacement. Very little space for clothing.

Roger (8/5): Very happy with the stay, it lived up to my expectations for my holiday. - The breakfast was good and just the perfect portion. The location was very good and it was easy to reach by bus and take bus from hotel to different parts of the city. Quiet neighbourhood during night. Loved the interior and it felt as a safe and good place to stay. Very pleased that it was an adult clientele (at least when I stayed there), without small children and babies. I wish there was more closet space, with shelves to store clothes. It would also have been nice to have a safe in the room to store passports and valuables. Unfortunately there is no staff there in the evening, and we experienced not being able to contact anyone by phone, email or WhatsApp the first day since we arrived at the hotel a little late in the day.
