• martinandco2018 (10/5): Centrally located, lovely clean hotel. - Hotel is centrally located. The lobby is very clean and the staff welcoming. Our room wasn’t ready on arrival because we arrived a good few hours early. We were able to leave our bags and head out sight seeing. Our room was on the top floor, spacious, clean and everything we needed. The hot water pressure was very good. Unfortunately the building opposite us decided to have a party until 6am! Completely not the fault of the hotel and nothing they could have done. We didn’t eat in the hotel but the breakfast menu looked good. Would stay here again as very central and a 2 minute walk from the shuttle drop off to the airport.
• Carlos-Tilbury (10/5): Great stay and staff where really good - I stayed for 4 nights and really loved it, I booked a room with a balcony over looking the front of the hotel, amazing location being only 1 minute from the Ramblas, its a great location, street is quiet at night, beds are very comfy. I was able to leave my luggage at the hotel on the last day as I had a few hours to kill, the hotel arranged my taxi, the staff could not have been any better. The taxi can drop you at the front door, Hotel was very clean, the hotel itself is so cool with amazing period features. I will be staying again.
• Adventurer208163 (2/5): 1 star hotel - The room without A/C and smell is terrible and the front desk can’t help to change the room I tried to talk with front desk manager but no one available to help and the only help he offers you with extra blankets and small fan . I stayed 3 nights under this bad experience plus the sink drain is broken when we get to the room and the front desk telling us if the sink drains no problem and when we complain about bugs in the bed he telling us because we open the window. It’s the terrible experience at hotel I never get to this in my halls life. Plus the room is very small and noisy.

Small, clean, no-frills rooms have hardwood floors, rustic furnishings, small single beds with soft pillowcases; safe, no mini fridge or coffee/tea things, modernized bathroom w/ toilet & bidet, shampoo/Q-tips/cotton pads. Large bottle complimentary water. Staff-arranged taxi to airport was expensive.
• maureengW1501ID (4/5): Rude staff - Arrived late night with family. Clerk seemed annoyed that we were there and was condescending during check in. Hotel room was clean - bathroom dated. Confirmed luggage storage for our check out date however that morning we were informed it was not available because they were “painting” that room. Staff did not offer secure alternative for any guests. We were advised we could “just leave our luggage in the side lobby” out in open without any security measures. Staff couldn’t have cared less. We were not the only guests upset with lack of secure storage and the attitude from staff. Al a Carte breakfast available for additional charge consisted of powdered eggs and mini hot dogs trying to pass for breakfast sausage. Overall staff acted like guests were a nuisance.

Lots of options for shopping .hotel is average experience , small standard rooms, clean washrooms. Hotel staffs are not that welcoming except the one who was there at night during check in . Expensive stay( value for money ) but Barcelona you don’t have much cheaper options .

Rooms are very old and the bathroom isn’t what I would call modern. Half tub with a hand shower and little to no curtain to contain the water. Showering was difficult at best.

• steve (1/5): Not recommended - Nothing The room was across from another apartment building (5 meters) everyday the people were arguing and a dog barking. We informed reception each day about the problem.Each day they said they could do nothing about it did not offer another room at these times. We finally had been there for three nights and could not take the noise from the building across alley, the doors slamming and the constant noise in the halls. We informed the reception we were leaving , at that time they offered a different room. We had already booked a different hotel since they had not shown any care for our situation early in our stay. They did not offer any reimbursement for 3 nights we had left on our stay. In my travels probably one of the worst hotels I have stayed for a trip. I would not recommend this hotel for enjoyable and relaxing stay in Barcelona.

At any given point in the night, I could hear so many noises coming from outside and inside the building. Everytime someone would go up or down the stairs, I could hear it in the room. During one of the early mornings, I could hear a man shout very loudly in Spanish. This made me very uncomfortable.

• Cope4 (6/5): Disappointing Stay - Great location. Close to La Rambla. Stayed 2 nights. Room was very small. Neither USB port worked for charging. Was suppose to be fixed-never was. Had to buy an adapter to charge our devices. Bathroom door made Loud squeaks everytime you opened and closed it. Again was told it would be fixed. Never was. Will be looking elsewhere for our next stay in Barcelona.

Die Plata Cataluniya, Las Ramblas und die Kathedrale sind um die Ecke Das Frühstück war eine Enttäuschung - das haben wir nur einmal getestet und es dann in den unzähligen kleinen Cafés viel schöner gehabt. Das „Ehebett“ waren zwei einzelne nicht miteinander verbundene Betten.
• Vorster (3/5): Don't think I will stay there again. - The location was great. The hotel is clean. They have an elevator that helps a lot with getting luggage to and from the room. Also like the balcony. We booked a room for 3 adults. There was twin beds and an extra uncomfortable bed pushed in next to the door, not the picture I saw on the internet that showed two double beds. Not much space for 3 adults and their luggage. No coffee/tee facilities in the room. Have to go down to reception and pay for coffee from a vendor machine. They offered to organise transport from the airport and I emailed all the detail, but there was nobody waiting for us at the airport. Can send you the emails. I had a lot of trouble trying to pay them through their RedSys system that kept on timing out and was in Spanish. Eventually paid them by EFT.
• Lilianne (10/5): - Beautiful comfortable hotel a block away from La Rambla. The staff was very attentive and were always ready to help with recommendations, directions, or just a friendly smile. The rooms were clean, modern, and quiet despite the central location.
• Karen (8/5): Great location. I would stay here again. - Location was excellent. Hotel was clean. Housekeeping service was very good. Desk staff was patient and communicated well with us, we are from the US and had limited local language skills. The bed was a little firm for my taste, but comfortable enough. Beautiful historic building in a great location. The hotel is in a historic building, which is wonderful, but one downside is that there was a noise problem. Hotel backs up to residences, and the occasional barking dog was clearly heard. Activity above, such as moving the desk chair, produced a fairly loud dragging, vibrating sound. Voices could also be heard from hallway and adjoining room. I sleep with earplugs, which took care of the issue, but I think it could be an issue for some. Also, its a cultural thing, but European hotels usually don't have washcloths. If you use washcloths, you will need to supply your own.

• Shannon (8/5): All and all a nice place to stay. - The location was great. Close to everything. Still very quiet at night. Small and quaint. Nice lobby. The room was big and a huge bathroom for Europe standards. Great pastries across the street. The reception area was a little small next to the elevator. There were steps down into our room which was a little scary. The outdoor area could use a little attention.

The staff at front desk were helpful with making reservations.

There is no coffee maker in the room and the wall separating the bathroom from the room was just glass. hopefully the rooms that have more than 1 twin bed have more than just glass to separate the bathroom. It was loud both in and outside the hotel room. I heard a dog barking and people outside my room on and off.

One of the receptionist i don't know his name was terrible and rude and treat the guests very unfriendly. The rooms are small and do not have small refrigerator and cofee maker and without any facial tissue and floor covering is terrible and ants are present.

• Gerard (6/5): - The property is in the older part direct next to the Ramblas. Thereby it is a great location. Rooms are okayish. All rooms are different, and ours was relatively small. Do not buy trips at the desk, but search and buy online: just the sagrada is difficult to get due to ticket scalpers. Avoid the breakfast: plenty of better and cheaper options within 5 minutes walk.
• Mary (8/5): - There is no airport shuttle. They call a taxi for you and it cost $70 to get to the airport. They provide only one bottle of water for two people for three days. I got bedbug bites on my ankles. The lobby was beautiful, but I saw saw a cockroach come in from the street. I wouldn't stay here again.

• dianesA897DH (8/5): Clean basic hotel - The location of the hotel was convenient. However, be aware if you are on street side that trash is picked up very early in the morning and is loud in rooms. Also, the chairs in the lobby were very loud when moved along the tile floor. Can hear easily in room. Simply putting felt pads on them would probably help. Did not find staff overly helpful or friendly but overall room quality was good. Did not try bar/restaurant. Unclear if breakfast was included. Visited “terrace”. Noting much to look at but was a quiet space to read

• Ellen (8/5): Pretty little hotel, great location, ridiculously loud room on an alley across from apartments. - The location is fantastic. Near the Las Ramblas but far enough off the strip that it was largely quiet location. Great little eateries on this block and super easy to do so much of foot from here. And one block from the metro. My particular room was insanely loud. No one should ever stay in room 123. Staff was fine, but not all equally friendly.

• Susan (8/5): - Great location. Next to attractions. Walking distance to great dining and shops. Port not far by taxi. Wonderful all around but has some steps to check in. There is a lift but the second floor still had a good amount of stairs we had to lug our bags up. My husbands a big guy but something to think about if you cant do that.

• Shaohui (8/5): - It is quite convenient to transportation, also close to a lot of shops, a little bit old of building and facilities, shower room has some issue, too complicated for use, easily get a wet floor, though front desk is quite helpful
• Alexandra (4/5): Great location but would not stay again - Location is great but you can hear every single thing happening on your floor, above and below. During a 2 night stay both me and my partner were woken up repeatedly by doors being opened and closed loudly and noise from around other rooms. The building is quite old and while beautiful on the ground floor, the room was very tired. Was also surprised there wasn’t an iron for clothes available(you could pay the hotel to iron the clothing instead)

• Yojeong (2/5): Terrible bug bites staying here… - My family and I all got terrible bug bites while staying here. When we reached out to the hotel, they said it is mosquito and common everywhere and didn’t offer to help us. Even in Seville and Granada which is more suburb than Barcelona, we didn’t get a single bug bite… so disappointed at how dirty the hotel is that we ended up getting these bites that even had fluid discharge and left bad scarring on my skin. Hotel does not offer free breakfast, and they give you 1 water even if you stay in the largest room junior suite.
• Deloris (9/5): We enjoyed our stay and would come back. - The breakfast was good. However, the room was smaller than expected, and the third bed was not very comfortable. Everything else was good. A more comfortable third bed.

• Ellen (6/5): It was fine except for the noise at night. - Hotel Nouvelle is centrally located in Barcelona, very close to La Rambla, the Metro, and the Placa de Catalunya. The hotel is three floors and somewhat small. There’s a patisserie across the street for coffee and pastries in the morning, good restaurants on the street. The issue is the noise. We were in Room 123 and the window faces an apartment with two dogs that barked incessantly and the owner yelling at the dogs to be quiet all hours of the day and night. The dog owner may have been hard of hearing as the tv volume was loud. Plus there’s a restaurant tucked away between the buildings with drunk people carousing about past midnight. We used Rick Steves guide to Spain for hotel selection. His choices are reasonably priced hotels. The cleaning staff work hard to stay in front of the revolving numbers of guests. The reception staff is “eh”. Especially the night clerk. Noise
