Michael (9/5): We would definitely choose this hotel if we return to Rome - Location is excellent. Easy access to the sites but a relatively quiet areas nevertheless with a few decent restaurants nearby. There was nothing we really didn’t like however the rooftop bar was a bit soulless and the view out of the window was just a city street but we weren’t expecting anything else
anthonyf915 (8/5): Comfortable, quiet and Clean - This is a nice hotel in a very good location for sightseeing and dining. The Vatican and other popular sights are about one mile away. There are many excellent restaurants within a short walk as well. The breakfast buffet was very good. The rooftop bar was fair. Overall the stay was very good. We would stay there again.

41MelissaJ_cubs_fan (2/5): Worse than a Motel 6... - As a Marriott Titanium Elite member as someone who has traveled to Europe multiple times, this was one of the most disappointing Marriott experiences I have had. For the price of the room, I expected a LOT more. The only good thing about the hotel is the location. I placed a request for an upgrade 8 months in advance, since I had them available in my Marriott account. We checked multiple times before our arrival and could not get an answer. We tried checking in around 11 and even then, they were not able to confirm the upgrade, which is ridiculous. They either have the room or they don't, pretty simple. Once we got into the room, that was yet another disappointment as we were told it was a king with a twin. What we actually got was 3 twins. But wait, there is more disappointment to come. Got into the shower and the shower head was leaking and sprayed everything in the bathroom... All the toiletries... Everything! Called the front desk for towels and maintenance. Nothing. 2 hours later, I went to the front desk to inquire again, not sure what happened. It was fixed by the time we got back from dinner. My daughter took a shower and went to use the blow dryer and soon as we turned it on, it caught on fire. For real. We went to the front desk again, they didn't bring us a new hair dryer. Too many problems at this hotel and we expected a higher quality hotel. We won't be back.
T8349DDericc (2/5): 1 Star – Marriott Loyalists Should Avoid This Property - As a Marriott Titanium Elite member and Lifetime Platinum member, and as someone who has traveled to Europe more than 25 times, this was one of the most disappointing Marriott experiences I have had. Prior to arrival, the hotel had already honored my upgrade certificates for a deluxe room that accommodated three people. My reservation clearly involved traveling with my wife and child. However, when we arrived and the hotel saw that we were actually a party of three, they refused to honor my corporate discount and effectively doubled the price of the stay. This felt completely unreasonable and very disappointing, especially given my long-term loyalty to Marriott. Rather than feeling valued as a loyal guest, I felt penalized for traveling with my family despite the room type already being approved before arrival. If you are a Marriott Bonvoy member who expects loyalty, consistency, and fair treatment, I would strongly recommend avoiding Le Méridien Visconti Rome. This property does not reflect the level of service or loyalty recognition I expect from Marriott.

marciecollective (8/5): Treat yourself to an elegant getaway - It doesn’t get much better when you can walk to local attractions like Vatican City, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain and push through to the Coliseum for this 4 star ⭐️ hotel. An abundance of authentic restaurants, shops and sweet treats close by. They offer a great breakfast buffet and relaxing rooftop lounge for dinners and bites. Check them out, you won’t be disappointed

JulietteJ929 (10/5): Amazing hotel for exploring Rome - We stayed for 3 nights with a rugby package to watch Italy v England! The location is superb, we walked everywhere and the hotel is especially close to the Castle and Vatican City. We only had breakfast at the hotel and it was a huge buffet style and I couldn’t think of anything that was missing. The cooked ‘English’ elements were not as good as home but I don’t expect them to be. It was funny to find salads and pizza (bases) available at breakfast too! The room was plenty big enough and clean and the shower was huge. There was a beautiful bar on the roof top but I would recommend booking and bring some extra cash if you want to spend time there! We would definitely consider returning to this hotel if we were coming back to Rome.

Elina (6/5): OK for staying one night before flying back home. - Hotel is conveniently located within walking distance to major tourist attractions. Small shower cabin. Room are on the smaller side as well. Very uncomfortable bed with cheap mattress and pillows. There is a construction going on in from of the hotel. We were not notified by the hotel, and the taxi driver was confused were to drop us off since there are no clear signs of the entrance.

AllCre8tive (6/5): Not great for a 4 star Hotel - The packaging looks great and we were very happy when we arrived and we were upgraded, but we were not advised beforehand that building work was going on. However, from there on generally disappointed. We were told we could have anything from the mini bar, which sounded great until we realised it only contained just 2 cans of coke and 2 fruit juices. Staff were very abrupt, even told off by a waiter at 10:45, (when breakfast finished at 11), for coming down so late!! Barely anything for breakfast, even when we did arrive early. Always items missing. No pancakes, omelettes only creamy scrambled eggs. The fruit juices varied from day to day. Some days they were very weak where they had been watered down. So quite limited for a 4 star hotel. No working aircon in our room which meant we had to sleep with the window open, in turn this meant we were woken up by rush hour traffic and the early morning work men’s machinery renovating the front of the hotel. One USB port worked. Limited draw space, just two tiny draws in the room. Good points: Nice decor, roof top bar is nice but lacked atmosphere. Good location and close to everything.

AdePavey (10/5): Fantastic place to stay - We used this hotel with England Rugby Travel. High standards of cleanliness, modern interiors, comfortable public spaces and a good restaurant. The roof top bar is a great place to sit in the evenings, but it is very popular so booking is advisable during your stay. Location is good for exploring Rome. By far the best part of the experience was the service levels and staff, who were very efficient and friendly. If we go back to Rome we would not hesitate to stay here again.

Janos1315 (10/5): Good hotel at a very good location - I should highlight the location of the hotel. Easy access with a short walk to Piazza Navona and many other attractions. At the same time the neighborhood was smart and quiet with some authentic local restaurant. We had very good dinners and also a Sunday launch only within 5 minutes walking distance. Breakfast buffet was also really good.

jennyk1281 (8/5): overall good with some caveats - Our family room was excellent for our family of 4-more room and better layout than expected. The hotel is in a great location, easy to walk to everything but also in the quieter Prati neighborhood which is beautiful. We were greeted by super friendly front desk team and bellman as well. The negatives: found a big bug in the room, water bottles not replaced (rude male concierge told us they were not replaced), coffee pods also not replaced daily, door to 7th floor broken and we couldn't get in, wasn't fixed during our time there.
Nolawb69 (8/5): Great value, comfortable, good location, walked to St. Peters - We arrived in Rome a day earlier than planned and booked this hotel via bonvoy points at last minute. it turned out to be very nice and great location. It is not in the 5star luxury class if that is what you're wanting, but for the price and location, it is very well done. Pleasant staff, walkable to lots of sites, easy to get in and out off per walking or cab. Small but comfortable room and nice rooftop. Very good value.

BillB619 (8/5): A Very Good Rome Experience - Marriott Titanium. Family vacation to Rome. Pros: - Location: Not in the busiest part of Rome, but that's what we were looking for a stay with two small kids. There are lots of restaurants within the neighborhood and you are within walking distance to all the tourist sites. We walked everywhere that you would want to go to whilst in Rome. - Restaurants: the hotel restaurant in the lobby was very good and were great with the kids. The hotel in the lower level for breakfast was great - enjoyed eating Italian style breakfasts. The rooftop bar/restaurant was good as well and they were very kid friendly. - Staff: they were courteous and professional. - Room: was clean and large enough for a family of four. Cons: - Bathrooms: assuming they had to shrink the bathroom a bit to make the rooms a bit more spacious. It is tight, even without kids. - Smoking: understand that smoking culture is different in Italy vs the US, but people being allowed to smoke at the rooftop restaurant was a surprise. Hotel employees also smoke right outside the doors, so expect to walk through a cloud of smoke going in/out of hotel. Overall a very good family stay and we would come back.

Wir haben durch ein Entgegenkommen des Hotels für 3 Tage das Zimmer (Studio) bekommen, das wir eigentlich wollten, mussten dann aber für 2 Tage in ein kleineres lautes Zimmer einziehen.

rwalsh1348 (2/5): Anniversary off to bad start - Not a good experience. We tried using a suite night upgrade for our 17th anniversary that was rejected even though I checked and there were multiple suites available that night for purchase. The hotel asked if there was anything they should know for the stay online and I mentioned our anniversary. Not even a happy anniversary no card no nothing. Instead when we arrived we were promptly charged extra because there were two of us apparently I only selected one guest who does this? Then I get to our room and it’s two double beds! After complaining and the hotel complaining back they finally get us into the room we ordered. Sorry but this is not how you treat guests esp platinum elite. Never will stay with you again.

SeanDel1228 (6/5): Quick Overnight for Rome Sightseeing - We stayed at the Le Meridian August 20, 2025 as our first stop on our Italy trip. For location this hotel is great as it is right next to all the local transportation for trains/buses which are very easy to sue (very similar to NY’s but cleaner). The hotel from the exterior looks a little ragged but the interior was very nice and clean with a nice bar area and a spacious, open buffet breakfast. Compared to the other breakfast packages we have gotten from Marriott in Europe I would say this was OK, we would have enjoyed an omelette bar or something more substantial. For the amount of time we actually spent in the hotel this was great for a quick rest, shower and back to sight seeing. Note these rooms are also very small. *BE AWARE of pick pocketers in this area, they are all over!

Staff was horrible, paid for a executive suite & ended up with a handicap room where nothing worked. Booked through a travel agent and because of that had to pay a tourist tax that was added at the end of my stay. If you need something extra for your room or something that should be in your room, expect it to be taken as an inconvenience. I’m confused on this one but I went to the bar, bar was open, asked for a beer and guess I wasn’t supposed to be sitting at the bar after ordering the beer??!! Just my opinion, I would steer clear of this hotel!

PatrickBusiness (4/5): Nice Hotel/Bad Service - My fiancé and I came to Rome for a few days. I normally stay more central, but decided to try a new hotel. The property is very nice, with great amenities. The best part was the restaurant and breakfast. My stay was terrible due to the employee at the front desk. Matt/Matteo was very unfriendly and cold. He did not recognize my Marriott status or provide any positive feelings. We almost left based on his greeting alone. Also, the room was very warm. We asked for an adjustment with no solution. Avoid this property. The other choices in Rome are better for the money.
shawnfE1427YQ (10/5): Excellent hotel and a fantastic location from which to explore Rome! - A great location convenient to the entire city centre of Rome. Easy walking access to Vatican City, Via del Corso, Piazza del Popolo, the Pantheon and more! Service was excellent, reception was friendly and bell service was great at obtaining taxis timely even on rainy days with high demand. Never waited more than 5 min for a taxi. Onsite restaurant with breakfast, lunch and dinner. The rooftop bar offers a fantastic spot to enjoy good weather with both indoor and outdoor seating and a creative cocktail menu. Room types vary, but with plenty of options for sleeping more than 2 for a family visit. The Urban Suite is an excellent choice if you have 3, especially for families with an older child.
paulcJ6228UW (8/5): Avoid the rooms on the 6th floor - Stayed here 3 nights from 2/9 in what is a clean, modern and well located hotel within easy walking of all the main attractions (mins) which we did. Spanish steps 19 St Peter’s square 24 Trevi fountain 25 Colosseum 45 One of the reasons we opted for this hotel over the multitude of others was the roof terrace bar which on our first night was disappointingly closed to hotel guests. The following morning just after 06:00am we were woken to loud banging and scraping noises above our room which lasted for over an hour which was them cleaning the roof top bar above. (scraping of furniture over the terrace) We called reception to complain about the early noise and were surprisingly informed that “The roof top bar closes at 01:00am (apparently our first night had a private booking) and so the terrace needs cleaned “ (at 06:00an…Really ???) Noting the bar is only open from 06:00pm we queried as to why the terrace could not be cleared later in the morning once the guests on the 6th floor were up but were advised this is just what happens and there was no way to guarantee we would not be woken again each morning In fairness the hotel did offer to move us to a lower floor which they did and beyond this blip we had an excellent stay.
S9597IVhowardc (2/5): Absolutely awful - I stay in hotels several times a month. This was absolutely one of the worst experiences I have had in decades of travel. They put me in a room within an unbearable smell coming from the bathroom drain. They told me they have no other available rooms. I was stuck in there for two days. No assistance - had to wait and wait online to speak to somebody. , while on a business trip for which I had no time. Absolutely miserable experience. I stay in Marriott all the time and am a platinum member This experience was the worst. And several weeks later, nobody has even bothered to get back to me despite numerous requests.

Laurie1921 (10/5): Enjoyable Stay! - We enjoyed our stay at Le Meridien Rome. The location was walkable to lots of places including the Vatican, Spanish Steps, and Trevi fountain. There are lots of restaurants to walk to as well. The rooms were on the small side, but still adequate and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was great, and for anyone gluten free, they had lots of options. The staff was always friendly, including the front desk, housekeeping, and restaurant staff.

Several taxi drivers tried to not use the meter or overcharge. Encountered claims that they don't take credit cards or don't have change. Need to agree to credit card and meter in advance. * Gym is small and crowded after 6 people. * All the staff we encountered were friendly and accommodating.
FDOTR05 (10/5): Great location in central Rome - This boutique Marriott property is in a great location in central Rome with access to local restaurants, shops and tourist sights within walking distance. The hotel staff was friendly and attentive. Checkout the rooftop bar while in town. The rooms were on the smaller side but met our needs. I would stay here again when in Rome.

lilirishstar (10/5): Modern conveniences, who knew? - This is the nicest hotel that we have ever stayed in Italy. We usually stay at more traditional, locally owned, older places. This was like living in luxury. Location was good, not as close to St Peter’s as we are used to, but still only about a 20 minute walk. There were plenty of little shops and restaurants close by, especially Gelateria La Romana. Staff were helpful and pleasant. Nice size room with all the modern conveniences like strong rain shower, big bathtub, big hair dryer, nice bath products, shaving mirror, Marriott mattress, robe and slippers. They had plenty of outlets and lights, although the light switches were a little confusing. The mini fridge was stocked with complimentary water and juices. Nice size closet for hanging clothes and folded clothes. Three modern fast elevators were definitely a plus. The included breakfast was quite nice. If you want the traditional Italian experience, with a shower the size of a small phone booth, stay at the Michelangelo or San Paulo VI right by St Peter’s Square.

tarektabbara (8/5): Good rooms, good location, bad food - Title says it all... Positives: location is quite good walking distance to many touristic sites. Good area. Check in and out were smooth. Staff is nice. Room size is quite good for Europe. Comfortable bed. They give a bath robe and slippers. Shaving mirror and bidet available, unlike many other hotels. Negatives: it wasn't perfectly clean. Some dust was still there. Hair on the bath towel. Shower head loose. Food was terrible (we had a meeting there and food at lunch and dinner was quite bad and small portions). If you're going there for a few days, it's OK. If you're going mostly to be outside the hotel, it's fine. It's not a luxurious hotel, it's just good enough with some minor issues.
