• Carstens_Welt (8/5): Comfortable stay with great benefits, but not perfect - I had an all in all good stay at the Mövenpick Hotel Hanoi. The hotel’s location is very convenient for exploring the city. The rooms are comfortable, well-designed, and offer a pleasant stay overall. The staff were consistently friendly and professional, which made a positive difference throughout my visit. As an Accor Platinum member, I appreciated that all status benefits were properly recognized. In particular, the late check-out was granted without any issues. The Executive Lounge is also a strong point of the hotel, with a very good selection of food and drinks in a comfortable setting. On the downside, the room was quite noisy despite being on a higher floor. There was a constant background noise, likely from a central air-conditioning system, which was noticeable, especially at night. Another drawback is the pool area. The pool itself is extremely small and not suitable for proper swimming. There are also no real options to relax or lie down by the pool, and the overall atmosphere in that area is rather unpleasant. Overall, a solid hotel with good service and benefits, but with clear areas that could be improved.

• piarts_ontour (10/5): Book It !! - We got the connecting rooms for 2 kids and 2 adults. It was Great value for money!! There is a complimentary chocolate fountain and other snacks in the lobby lounge during the evening but the problem is it does ruin your appetite if you plan on stepping out to enjoy a lovely local meal. We also had access to the executive lounge. It’s extremely well catered with enough starter sized portions to fill you up tor dinner. So you don’t need to step out at all if your feet are sore from a day of walking. Did I mention the executive lounge has an endless supply of beer, wine and spirits too ? The pool water is quite cold and doesn’t get a lot of sun but the pool bar do fantastic cocktails !! I would definitely stay here again when next in Hanoi. A very comfortable hotel with warm service.

We stayed on 2 separate occasions over a few days while travelling the first time the room was slightly dated with an over bath shower the second time we had a walk in shower. Staff were pleasant and breakfast was good lists of choices and fantastic coffees if the hotel had have been a little more modern I would have given the full five stars

The room was comfortable and we were provided with firmer pillows immediately they were requested. Good choice at breakfast. Don't miss chocolate hour! Just 2 issues: The bathroom has frosted glass and the shower kept flooding the floor The bar had limited beer and wine options and lacked character.

• harelane (4/5): The worst Happy Hour of our trip - Not sure why the hotel bothers to have Happy Hour. The lobby bar isn’t included, the only bar which has Happy Hour is the Cabanna Bar next to the swimming pool. The list of available drinks is very limited. They didn’t have the gin I ordered for my first drink or the red wine I chose for my second drink. When the wine they did have arrived it was a very small glass - barely 150ml and was poor quality. A real rip off and not what we expected from a 5* hotel.

We had our 30th Wedding anniversary when we stayed at the hotel and they sent us a beautiful cake and a lovely bunch of flowers. I cannot speak highly enough of this hotel. Extremely clean, with beautiful period decor. Walking distance to a multitude of shops and restaurants. This trip was a holiday, but this is now my go-to hotel when coming to Hanoi for business as well. Thank you so much for your hospitality.

• 58JAH (10/5): Great location for exploring - Arrived here after 2 flights and 24hour journey from UK. The check in was effortless and the room excellent. The breakfasts had everything to suit all tastes and really tasty food to set you up for the day ahead. The location is ideal with a 25 minute walk down to Hoan Kiem lake and the Old Town. Train Street is about 15 mins walk and Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum is about 30 mins walk. We walked down to Old Town to eat every evening. If you are there at weekend the night market is a must see with plenty to buy and great street food. I would stay here again if we were back in Hanoi.

Many charming coffee shops nearby as well as good restaurant. Service: good, as any 5 star hotel should be. Room: although clean, a bit old-dated. Common facilities: beautiful. Price: good for a 5 star hotel, but Viet nam has very good hotel prices, so it is no different from other hotels.

The location is ideal, close enough to the Old Quarter to explore easily, yet far enough to enjoy peace and quiet away from the traffic and noise. The room was modern, spacious, and very well designed. I particularly liked the contemporary layout and the stylish see-through bathroom, which adds a light and open feel to the space, with privacy options available when needed. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the room was well equipped with all the amenities you’d expect for a comfortable stay. The hotel itself is well maintained, with professional and attentive staff. All key facilities are available, including a gym, restaurant, and comfortable communal areas. The views from the hotel also offer a lovely perspective of Hanoi, especially in the evening. Overall, Mövenpick Hotel Hanoi is a reliable and comfortable choice with a great location, modern rooms, and excellent service. I would happily stay here again.

• smaug57 (10/5): Greta Hotel with an excellent location - Never heard of the Movenpick hotels. We needed to divert our holiday plans due to weather issues with central Vietnam as we were due to go the Hue and Hoi An,. We needed an extra night in Hanoi and were advised on this hotel. A good choice. Excellent city centre location. Very clam and pleasant atmosphere with a busy feel to the place. We had a twin room with an additional bed for my daughter but still offering plenty of space. The room was clean and tidy with everything we needed. Good value room. We only stayed for one night but tried the bar and the restaurant both of which were very present and very good value. As always the staff were superb. For a city centre location the noise levels were quiet even with the Vietnamese peoples need to honk their horns continually!! Would recommend his hotel

• Abrar (10/5): - We stayed for 4 nights, in two separate reservations as we went on a cruise at Ha Long Bay. The hotel staff were courteous to save our large luggage at their storage until we returned for the second stay. The staff at the reception and the restaurants were helpful and courteous. The room was clean. The bathroom has a bidet. There's a safe, iron, and ironing table. There's a nice swimming pool and a good gym. Overall, our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The breakfast buffet is big and has a wife variety of international and Vietnamese options. For halal meat seekers, they post a lable on meat items to indicate if it's halal or haram. Our booking was half board, so we enjoyed the dinner (a la cart) from 6 to 10 pm. They offer either a set menu or a selection from a regular menu. The chicken and meat pho are very tasty (both are halal). The hotel also offers a chocolate hour (5-6 pm) in the lobby, where you can enjoy a delicious treat of chocolate pieces, chocolate moose or cake, and fruits to be dippid in the chocolate fountain. The kids loved it! There's a nice swimming pool and a good gym.

What made the stay memorable was, as always, the impeccable service standards by the hotel staff. In particular, Ms. Ngan, Ms. Quynh, Ms. Chi and Ms. Tuanh from the Executive Lounge. The Front Office manager (Mr. Thang) and Assistant Front Office Manager (Mr. Long) were extremely approachable and professional and the Operations Manager (Mr. Phan) and the GM (Mr. Thomas), were consistently on-site, ensuring the comfort and enjoyment of all guests. The concierge team members (Mr. Thung and Mr. Huan) were always friendly and willing to assist with directions, queries and transport bookings. I look forward to returning in the winter season. The hotel is clean, quiet, and comfortable. • just-dawn-d (10/5): Great stay, exceptional staff - 2nd time, 10 months apart. Both times were great! The 2nd time we stayed on the executive floor with club lounge access. If you can, do it. The rooms are beautifully decorated with plush tones, and having the lounge was a definite plus. If I could, I would give all the staff 6 stars. From housekeeping, the doormen to concierge/reception and the wait staff. I wish I knew all their names to thank them, but to name a couple, Huyen at the reception was always so sweet and went out of her way to see if I was comfortable. Anh in the lounge always greeted me with a smile and helped me learn a few words in Vietnamese, it was especially thoughtful of her and the kitchen to always make sure I had vegetarian options for the evening snacks. We will definitely be back.

• lawteacher80 (8/5): Classy and quaint - Having stayed at other Accor properties in Hanoi, my decision lay in selecting a property that was in close proximity to the main attractions. I was initially apprehensive about crowds and noise but the service staff did their best to accommodate my stay requests. Front Desk staff are always friendly and professional. In particular, Mr. Thang, the Front Office Manager and his very capable team. Mr. Thang personally welcomed me to the property and constantly checked in on my satisfaction level. The Duty Manager, Mr. Tung Nguyen, also expeditiously resolved some minor issues; to which I'm grateful. Ms. Tam, the Reservations Manager and her team ensured that my airport transfer was seamless. Concierge team members are always pleasant and helpful. My appreciation to Ms. Tran, Concierge Supervisor, who provided me with very useful information on commute to Sapa. She was also very patient during her phone conversations with me. Concierge member, Mr. Tranh was extremely helpful in providing directions and as the weather was unpredictable, he made it a point to ensure that I was always equipped with an umbrella. The Executive Lounge team members are impeccable. They are extremely guest centric and are able to quickly acknowledge specific needs and requests. Mr. Quan, for instance, makes the best drinks and whiskeys. Ms. Anh remembers detailed preferences such as lemon slices to go along with my tea. Her dedication adds a touch of luxury. Ms. Quynh and Ms. Ngan are constantly ensuring that my preferred seat is catered for and tastefully set up. My only grouse would be how etiquette can be more firmly embraced in the Executive Lounge. Staff should enforce strict decorum and silence and not allow guests to be too rowdy, talk noisily or play their mobile devices aloud. I look forward to my next stay in the autumn/winter season.
