khumalo (8/5): 1 night stay - I liked that the cheking in process was quick and convenient and the hotels location is a huge plus especially if you want entertainment. Not much.
Darina (10/5): A home away from home in Rosebank - I loved that it felt like I had my own apartment, right near the event I needed to be at! Great to have a separate bedroom and the kitchen had everything I needed. Everyone was super friendly and helpful—would definitely book again. There is a supermarket right across the street so it was nice to not have to rely on eating out for every meal.
Carol (6/5): - Clean, thoughtful care for clients (hand cream, vanity sachet, sanitary sachet, things to make coffee and tea, hydration station etc), good communication, tastefully furnished and equipped, comfortable space, good lighting, architecture is aesthetically pleasing to the eyes, situated in a good area with easy access to shops and restaurants. Majority of the workers were very helpful and courteous even though they seem to be overwhelmed during peak hours at meal times . The glass partition of the bathtub was faulty. Consequently, there was a lot of water on the floor when I was bathing to the extent that I had to mop it so that I didn’t slip. I contacted the person in charge and they said they’ll call someone to look into it. The air-conditioner was leaking water which spread water on the floor. I had to put a towel on the floor to prevent the water from spreading in the room. The micro wave wasn’t working; it took some time to resolve the problem. Consequently, I lost appetite and didn’t enjoy my dinner. Breakfast was passable but needs to be more varied, especially the cooked dishes. Eating the same things morning after morning became unappetising. The beans was too salty. Dinning room was too small for the size of the hotel. Dinner and lunch services were too slow because priority seemed to have been given to clients who ordered room service. The first evening, I met some clients who said they had been waiting for their food for almost I hour. Therefore, I cancelled my order and dined elsewhere. I was shocked to learn shortly before I checked out that a bill of 800 Zar had been put under my name. It was later discovered it was a mistake. All those things created stressful conditions which made me not to fully enjoy my stay.

Faith (4/5): Poor management, lack of attention to detail and pilfering ruined this stay. - Rooms, cleanliness and location. The maintenance in our room 38 was bad. The safe did not work, the air-conditioning was set on 15 degrees and did not change, the light next to the bed had not been checked and did not work. On asking for assistance on Sunday evening the front of house staff were very pleasant but made no effort to get this fixed and said we must wait until maintenance could come on Monday and we froze all night. On Monday the maintenance crew came into our room when we were out . On our return the safe had not been fixed and a key had been left with the safe but it did not work, so we had no safe for the full duration of our stay. The aircon was not functioning and the light had been fixed and the small plastic bag containing our phone, kindle and i pad cables was missing out of our room . This was completely unacceptable . The honesty of someone on the staff is questionable. The restaurant and the service was very strange and poor. Items on the menu were not available and service was very slow. The room service was fine but the quality of the food on Tuesday am was poor.

My room was a long way from the reception and at night the lighting between the reception and my room was very dim, making the walk precarious. When I ordered room service, although only a sandwich, it took a long time to come, and when it finally arrived it was the wrong sandwich, but I accepted it rather than reorder.

They should only clean rooms then where people have checked out far too early and ruined any idea I had of an late sleep

During water outages (which I understand the hotel cannot help), one would expect the hotel to provide more than the regular 300ml bottle water in the fridge.

Maria (8/5): Homelike stay in Rosebank - We had a spacious room on the ground floor facing a courtyard with a garden. We had a kitchenette and a table, aside from a desk. Breakfast was served in a separate room facing the bigger courtyard garden. The hotel had a home-like atmosphere and was very comfortable. Wifi was great! The airconditioners were a bit temperamental and difficult to control with the remote. The rooms were comfortable but could do with a bit more maintenance (soap holder was missing, etc.)

No provision for powering mobile devices - no USB power points or 2-prong adapters unless one uses shaver point in bathroom.
