- G1780VFamyw (10/5): AMAZING Massage for Couple - My partner and I went over to the Taj Spa on Valentine’s weekend and had such an amazing massage with Rebekah and Hidayah, honestly one of the best we’ve ever had. The team were super thoughtful too, especially since my partner had torn his ACL earlier in the year, and they really made sure he was comfortable. The spa itself is so calm and peaceful. The moment you walk in, you feel relaxed. We were greeted with water and tea, and the whole vibe just made us feel really well looked after. The booking was also really easy, even though I sorted it last minute. Big thanks to Tenzin for helping make it all smooth. I’d definitely recommend the Taj Spa for a massage, such a great experience!

- ramirorU9158FT (10/5): The Taj 51 Buckingham Gate is our favorite hotel by a mile! - The Taj 51 is our favorite hotel by a mile! During our recent stay in London at the Taj 51, we were treated to a fabulous visit - attentive and friendly staff, an impeccably clean suite, and wonderful food. We have visited the Taj every year for the past five years and continue to be impressed. This visit, however, will be remembered for what happened after our visit ended. After we sadly left Taj 51 we moved to the Trafalgar Square part of London to a hotel which will remain unnamed, and the horror started. We were assigned a room that was dirty, dated, and had a toilet that would not flush. We immediately called and asked to be moved to another room, but were told by the front desk that there were no rooms available. We told them the toilet was not flushing and they sent three men who stood around for the next half hour while one of them fiddled with the toilet. They left for tools twice and ended up making a temporary fix. This was absolutely unacceptable. My wife was especially furious. She cried on the bed and wouldn't talk to me. I suggested we head for the bar across the street to calm down and strategize what to do next. Once there I decided to call the Taj in an attempt to save my marriage. I spoke to a reservations specialist who listened intently to my story and said they would be happy to accommodate our return to the Taj 51. He gave me a great price on a 1 bedroom suite that included breakfast and said we could arrive immediately. Of course our spirits rose and we left the bar and packed our bags at the terrible hotel. I went to the front desk and told the clerk we were leaving and why we were leaving. He left to go talk to someone and came back saying there was a "last minute cancellation" and there was a room where we could move to. Of course there was a room available. There always was! This was late January, the slower part of the London tourist season, so short of calling the man a liar to his face, I declined the room and we left. When our taxi arrived at the Taj a concierge and a bellman were waiting for us and carried our luggage to our suite along with my wife whose faith in mankind was restored, while I went to check in. While I unfortunately had to leave the next day to return home, my marriage was intact and my wife enjoyed 5 days of luxury with the kind and friendly faces of the Taj 51 staff, as well as delicious breakfasts at the Kona restaurant and complimentary happy hour at the great bar. We will forever be grateful to the Taj team for rescuing us from a terrible situation that I can't wait to block out of my mind. We look forward to returning to the Taj 51 Buckingham gate for many years to come.

The front desk offered a bigger room for a reasonable price, so we took it and it did not disappoint! Boys had their own room, our girl another room, we had our specious space, full kitchen and a living room. Every day fruit platter was replenished, one day they even baked cookies with our kids names on it. Cleaning service was absolutely BEST! They took care of every detail while we were staying. I never had to ask for anything extra. Very satisfied with everything! The location is another great point!

We had a first class experience from the moment we arrived to the day we checked out of our room. The hotel is beautiful and its central location is excellent. Many of the local landmarks and sightseeing areas are within walking distance. The subway station is also a very short walk and was very easy and affordable. All of the staff at the Taj are very friendly, professional and courteous. We stayed in a two bedroom apartment with a small kitchen and nice living room. The apartment was well furnished and very comfortable and relaxing for our entire family. The hotel was decorated very nicely for the holidays and the holiday lights were very festive and beautiful in the evenings. We highly recommend staying at the Taj!

- Love2Travel2Far (10/5): The New Gold Standard: A Masterclass in Hospitality for Our Family of 10 - My family of 10 recently stayed at the Taj 51 Buckingham Gate, and I can confidently say this property has set a new gold standard for hospitality, service, and accommodations. Traveling with a large group can be stressful, but the team here made us feel completely supported from arrival to departure. I want to specifically recognize the individuals who made this happen: Mathew (Management) demonstrated exceptional leadership from the moment we arrived. He set the tone for our entire stay and not only greeted us but intuitively connected with my parents in their native language. This instantly made them feel at home and showed a level of personalization that is rare to find. His proactive nature was outstanding as he checked in on us throughout our stay and even after departure to ensure our experience was flawless. He truly went above and beyond to make our stay extraordinary. Amreen (Front Desk) handled our check-in and check-out with incredible emotional intelligence. Upon arrival, she read the room perfectly by recognizing we were exhausted. She made the process seamless and painless. She balanced efficiency with genuine warmth, which we deeply appreciated. Throughout our stay, when she would see us, she would pause what she was doing to smile and greet us. The breakfast and tea service at Kona were spectacular. Sudhish and Pawan provided attentive, anticipatory service that matched the high quality of the food. They made our mornings amazing and I have to say that the tea experience was a highlight of the trip. A massive thank you to Francesco (Concierge) for deftly managing the logistics of our departure. He handled 25+ pieces of luggage for our group of 10 and ensured everything was loaded onto our bus with grace. He made a heavy lift look effortless. We stayed in the Falconer's Suites, which I highly recommend. The housekeeping team kept them immaculate, and we were touched by the thoughtful gifts delivered on New Year's Day. We especially appreciated the special attention given to our children. My only constructive feedback concerns the fitness facility. For a hotel of this caliber, the equipment felt a bit dated. Updating the gym to match the luxury of the rest of the property would make this a perfect 10/10 experience. Despite the minor note on the gym, the service here was unmatched. Because of the incredible care we received from this team, we will now look to stay at a Taj property any chance we get.

The service was crowded and the quality was mediocre. There was limited seating and we would have to have an hour for breakfast. Poor planning. Including calling a doctor late one night to come to our suite when our daughter had an eye infection (there was a fee of course but so much better than spending a day in the emergency room). The courtyard at the hotel is magical and was so beautiful to come back to every night. The suite was huge, comfortable and had everything we needed and more. The staff are absolutely top notch! We felt like family. The main part of the hotel is undergoing renovations currently but this did not affect us at all.

- 887gauravb (2/5): Never again! - Used to love the Taj chain for its customer service, but this will be sadly our last stay. Every time we have visited London, which has been 5-6 times over the past 12-14 months, this has been our hotel of choice. I booked the room about 2 weeks ago and wanted to change the stay date due to family matters, but they declined under the cancellation policy. I decided to gift the stay to another family member, who pointed out that we had been overcharged significantly. The price for 1 night at the hotel had gone down from £517.50 to £360. I requested that they match the price, as it not only seems like bad practice but also a lack of care for a regular returning customer. Once again, they refused but said they are happy to change the stay date now. Over the past 12-14 months, the hotel has been undergoing constant renovations, which meant that every time we visited, the service did not meet the high standards for which they charged, but as an understanding customer, we never complained. This treatment has left us with an overwhelmingly sour aftertaste of the TAJ chain, which I don't think we will ever visit again.

I have stayed in various hotels at least monthly for the last decade plus, and this was THE BEST stay I have ever had in any hotel, anywhere around the globe, and it all came down to the attentiveness of the staff. It ended up being one of my best birthdays ever, even though I was on the road - the staff created an experience where I felt truly special and feted. If you are ever wondering if the slightly extra cost is worth it (though, really, my stay was quite reasonable), the answer is an unqualified YES!!
- Sarkar-Matasovsky (2/5): I cannot recommend. It was terrible for a 5 star. - We were looking for a 5-star hotel with a strong brand reputation as we wanted nothing to go wrong. Also, we wanted a place with a good restaurant and spa. The restaurant, TH@51, was fairly empty when we arrived at 8pm (a December Saturday evening) so was lacking in atmosphere. Three dishes were served with frozen chips and we confirmed that they did indeed serve frozen chips with the restaurant manager, Mr Kumar. They were dry and not edible. The quality of food across our 5 ordered meals was poor and unacceptable for the price. As I continued to challenge Mr Kumar, he informed me that he is "proud" of the (ready made processed frozen) food they serve. A cake was brought out as we were celebrating a birthday, but the restaurant quietly added a charge for it. The spa was out of action during our stay and the hotel are refusing to offer a gestural partial refund for its closure. The priority has been to take our money but with little care or consideration of what is offered. For a 5-star hotel I would expect a sizeable lobby or communal lounge. There is a small lobby with a couple of small lounge areas that seat maybe 6 people. Its not what I would expect at this price point. Would I return? Not if you paid me.

- mfnlnz (2/5): Deeply Disappointing Experience for a Supposed “Luxury” Hotel - I stayed at Taj Buckingham London for five days, and unfortunately, it was one of the worst luxury hotel experiences I’ve ever had. For a property charging nearly £1,000 per night, the operational gaps and service failures were completely unacceptable. The issues started the moment I landed. The hotel failed to properly coordinate with their third-party driver for my airport pickup, leaving me with the driver confused with no clear communication. Upon arrival at the hotel, things got even more frustrating. Despite paying everything in advance, I was made to wait 30 minutes in the lobby because they needed to “double check” with their finance team if my payment had been received. After a long flight, this kind of inefficiency felt ridiculous. I booked a 1-Bedroom Suite with a living room, expecting a clean and comfortable space. Instead, the couch had a strong, unpleasant odor, and the bed sheets and pillowcases smelled like they hadn’t been laundered properly. For a luxury property, this level of housekeeping is simply unacceptable. The next morning, I asked the breakfast staff if I could have breakfast in my room the following day. They happily agreed and never mentioned any additional charges. But when the breakfast arrived, I was suddenly billed an extra £100. Why? I already paid for breakfast as part of my room package. The lack of transparency felt misleading and extremely unprofessional. But the most shocking and honestly traumatizing part of the stay happened at night. For three consecutive evenings, hotel staff — specifically male and female Indian staff — knocked on our door between 8–10 PM. Twice, they entered our room without permission, offering massage services. I have never in my life experienced hotel staff walking into a guest room uninvited. Having strangers inside our room late at night, while we were already sleeping, was beyond unacceptable. It felt unsafe, invasive, and completely out of line for any hotel, let alone one claiming to be “luxury.” This stay was stressful from start to finish. With the high price point, I expected professionalism, privacy, and a seamless experience — yet what I received was the opposite. I genuinely hope the management addresses these serious issues, because no guest should ever have to go through this.

A special mention to Mrs. Amreen at the reception, who made our check-in so warm and pleasant. The only disappointment was being refused South Indian food for in-room dining. We choose Taj mainly because it’s an Indian hotel, so it was surprising that North Indian dishes were served, yet South Indian options were denied by the staff. Later, the chef from Quilon kindly called and offered to send the dosa, but by then we had almost fallen asleep. Apart from this one issue, every other aspect of our stay was excellent — hospitality, comfort, and overall service were top-notch.

Vasi, Peter, Fransisco, Miles greet you daily. Our housekeeper Nina and others set a high standard each and every day. Their cleanliness and attention to detail is delightful. All the staff were welcoming and so attentive, thanks to everyone in the team for another memorable stay.

With the staff standing around I felt like this was extortion, and it should have been previously disclosed when booking. I paid it, but felt compulsion. Decent location, but I will never go back. You can find a much better place to stay, and a better attitude that shows warm hospitality than this.

The F&B is absolutely delectable and House Of Ming caters some finest Chinese cuisine in UK. Housekeeping is of pristine standards and very thoughtfully done with generous amenities for guest comfort. Undoubtedly, this Hotel offers great luxury in terms of space as well with over sized suites and residences. Definitely, one of the best Hotels of London and unbeatable location. The staff were friendly from the moment we arrived and always helpful whenever we needed something. Check-in and check-out were quick and easy, which I really appreciated. We ate at both Quilon and House of Ming during our stay — both were excellent. As vegetarians, it was nice to actually have plenty of options that tasted great. Breakfast was also a highlight, and sitting outside in the courtyard made it even better. The hotel team also helped make my wife’s birthday really special with a few thoughtful touches. It was a lovely surprise and something that meant a lot to us. Overall, this place has a mix of comfort, good food, and great service. I’d definitely recommend it if you’re looking for somewhere memorable to stay in London.

It gave us connection, care, and the feeling of being at home Mr. Mohit Verma has a calm and grounded presence that sets the tone for everything around. You can sense his leadership in how warm and seamless the whole experience feels. Ms. Urmi was such a thoughtful presence throughout our stay & always made sure everything was just right, quietly paying attention to the little details that made all the difference. Chef Atanu Debnath at TH@51 restaurant, made every meal feel like something crafted with care. Shubham Prakash at Kona restaurant was always kind, polite, and made us feel well looked after every time we were there. Tibor, who manages guest services, was such a pleasure to meet. He was always full of warmth and energy, greeting us & all the guests, with the widest smile every single time & always ready to help with everything. When my mother unexpectedly needed first aid, he rushed to help without hesitation and called the security person for first aid - even though his shift had just ended! We were so moved by his kindness and selflessness. This is exactly why I say Taj feels like home. Where hospitality is not a duty, but a genuine care that comes from the heart of all the staff at Taj. The Concierge team - Alex, Calman, Nelson, and John, were amazing. They helped us with bookings, local tips, and made everything run so smoothly. Their efficiency, warmth, and helpful nature made our trip so much easier and more enjoyable. I'd recommend taking their suggestions on restaurants, bars, shopping etc. And lastly, a big thank you to Shamtanu Sir from Quilon for giving us such a beautifully curated dining experience. Hospitality of Taj group their staff nobody in the world can beat Taj (Tata) grp at all. What was once a symbol of warmth, personalized service, and genuine hospitality has lost its way. Recently, prices for everything—rooms, food, and amenities—have shot through the roof, with food prices increasing by 300%. Yet, the quality of service has plummeted. The hotel now levies a 12.5% service charge and a 5% voluntary tip, which I find entirely unjustified given the decline in staff attentiveness and overall standards. This hotel used to be renowned for its "Tajness"—a true sense of care and emotional connection with guests. Today, it caters to celebrities and high-ranking officials, leaving long-term guests like me feeling ignored and undervalued. Service is inconsistent, and basic amenities are neglected. Once a decent facility, the gym is now a disgrace—unclean, unhygienic, and tiny. It's been turned into a spa space that only a handful of guests can use simultaneously. The staff seem more focused on pampering VIPs than attending to regular guests, which starkly contrasts the warm, welcoming atmosphere it once offered. Considerable effort was once made to offer thoughtful services, such as providing takeaway meals for travelers with dietary needs—something I greatly appreciated. These services are gone or overcharged (GBP 80 for a small dish), emphasizing profit over guest care. Despite multiple attempts to raise these issues directly with management, I have seen no meaningful action or acknowledgment. The silence and inaction speak volumes about the hotel's priorities shifting from guest satisfaction to maximization of profits. This experience has left me deeply disappointed. I no longer recommend this hotel to anyone seeking genuine hospitality and a welcoming environment. The decline is evident, and seeing such a once-proud property lose its soul is heartbreaking. Please save money and seek alternatives that truly value and care for their guests.
