- JonathanMurray20 (10/5): A Wonderful Stay at The College Green Hotel Dublin – 5/5 - We had a fantastic stay at The College Green Hotel during our trip to Dublin. The property itself is beautiful, with a very historical feel while still being exceptionally well done and maintained. It feels like you’re staying somewhere with real character and history rather than just another hotel. The staff was excellent throughout our stay. The doormen were especially helpful and truly stood out, helping us arrange taxis every day and making transportation effortless. Small touches like that really make a difference when traveling. The breakfast setup felt a little clunky at times, but it still worked fine and certainly wasn’t enough to take away from the experience. As a Marriott Autograph Collection property, it delivered a unique experience that felt different from a standard hotel stay. The location was one of the biggest highlights for us. It was close to many of the major attractions we wanted to see in Dublin, including Dublin Castle, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, and several other key tourist destinations. An added bonus was that Wild Rover bus tours picked up directly in front of the hotel, making it incredibly convenient for tourists like my wife and me. We traveled with our six-year-old child, and the hotel worked very well for our family. We enjoyed the bar area, and one thing that deserves specific mention was the shower quality. Travelers know that sometimes hotel showers in Europe can be hit or miss, but this one was excellent. Overall, we had a great experience and would absolutely stay again.

Hebben een ochtend meer dan tien minuten moeten wachten op een sneetje brood. Wat er op het buffet stond was wel lekker en van goede kwaliteit. Als het aangevuld was, wel te verstaan.

We had an excellent two night stay at the College Green Hotel and enjoyed the hotel's unique and elegant character, which really set it apart from the typical big brand hotel chains. The rooms were clean and well appointed, the bed was quite comfortable, and the breakfast was delicious. To top it off, the hotel staff were all welcoming, efficient and kind. Pre-arrival, they were very quick to respond to a couple of emailed questions. And during our stay, a dessert plate was sent up to our room in honor of my birthday, which was a very nice touch and made a real impression on me. I would definitely recommend The College Green Hotel if you want a special stay during your next stop in Dublin.

The location is excellent—central, walkable, and very convenient to many of Dublin’s main sights. It is also right next to the Temple Bar area, so guests should expect some city noise, especially at night. That tradeoff is worth noting for anyone seeking a quieter stay. The concierge team and doormen were consistently friendly, professional, and helpful. They represent the level of service you would expect from a hotel of this caliber. However, our breakfast experience fell well short of that standard. As medically diagnosed celiacs, we requested eggs Benedict without the English muffin. The chef came out to confirm the request, which we appreciated and initially gave us confidence in the process. Unfortunately, when the food was delivered, the server slammed the plates on the table abruptly and without any acknowledgment or basic courtesy. The interaction came across as openly dismissive and inappropriate for a guest-facing role. This was not a minor lapse—it had a material negative impact on our stay and undermined the otherwise strong aspects of the hotel. In a property positioning itself at this level, that kind of service breakdown should not occur. In summary, while the hotel benefits from an outstanding location and strong front-of-house staff, the inconsistency in service—particularly in the restaurant—needs to be addressed.
- alba8608 (8/5): Very stylish central hotel - I recently stayed for a long weekend to visit my sibling who was touring Ireland from the States. I did some research and saw that College Green looked very nice and central. The hotel is in a very central location, close walking distance to all the main tourist attractions. Upon arrival the staff were very welcoming, professional and helpful. The decor of the hotel is very stylish and attractive. Everything was very clean. My room overlooked the main street. It was spacious and comfortable. It had a very large comfortable bed, two seating areas, wardrobe, safe, iron, rainfall shower, TV. The bath products smelled lovely. One of the curtain pulls was broken. I was surprised at the lack of variety of TV channels or movies on the telly. The casting function didn’t work. I ate in the restaurant the first night. The ambience was nice. The service was good and friendly. I thought the menu choices were not very varied. I had a Caesar salad which was fine. It didn’t have anchovies. My main was chicken breast, potato gratin with Parmesan, broccoli. The broccoli was overcooked. The flavour of the potatoes was nice. The breakfast buffet was plentiful - pastries, fruit, eggs, bacon, sausages, mushrooms etc. I think they need to pay a bit more attention to cleanliness during the busy service periods. You can order eggs Benedict or an omelette. I was surprised eggs Benedict incurred an extra service charge. At other five star hotels in which I’ve stayed where breakfast is included in my package that would include something as simple as eggs Benedict. Also in my package was included an afternoon tea. The staff were friendly. I did find the male waiter slightly patronising when he continued to describe every single wine when I didn’t ask for or need any assistance as I just asked for champagne. The afternoon tea was very pleasant. However the baked items such as scones were very dry. I have to be honest - the next day I was at another afternoon tea at the Shelbourne and it was far superior. I suggest the College Green Chef goes to the Sherbourne as a mystery shopper for comparison. The concierge staff were always extremely helpful with directions, advice on local pubs/restaurants/tours, taxis. I would recommend this hotel and I would stay again. But compared to other five star hotels in which I’ve stayed I just expected a bit more attention to detail.

Since I come for work, the social aspect doesn't have the appeal to me that tourist often gravitate too. That being said, if you are on vacation this would still be the spot I'd recommend over all others in Dublin. Staff is very helpful and always accommodating to random request. Rooms are spacious and if (like me) you are from the US and like air conditioned rooms, they have that as well. Breakfast is better than all of the hotels in the area and the Mint bar in the basement is nice for an evening to unwind on property. Being a Bonvoy Member also helps. I'd recommend signing up before hand.

Some were to mushy and flat and others were hard as rocks. Sadly, none were just right. The location was excellent. We were in Dublin to tour Trinity College and it was basically next door. We had a view of the campus from our window. The hotel is also close to the Temple Bar area for nightlife and Grafton street for shopping. All in all, a good hotel experience.

Breakfast was disappointing with suing required in the reception lobby before we could enter while there were empty tables inside however the staff were clearly under pressure and did not had enough help to cope, and coffee was not nice, very bitter and not fresh.

We went on sat night booking was for 7.30pm. We ordered and the food was freezing. We tried talking to the waitress but unfortunately her English wasnt great and she just kept laughing. We paid €172 and it was absolutely disgusting

I contacted the hotel on the afternoon of checkout and was kindly informed that they would mail it to me. It is now one week later and four phones calls with no action taken. A beautiful hotel but something is broken in their operations. They have confirmed they have the package but no one is taking responsibility. I have stayed here a few times over the past year but this experience is not a positive one.

- piyushap2025 (10/5): Above and beyond service; excellent stay. - We had an absolutely wonderful stay at our hotel in Dublin, and what truly made it exceptional was the incredible service, especially from Luis F. at the concierge desk. From the moment we arrived, Luis went above and beyond in a way that felt both genuine and effortless. We pulled up around 4:10pm and had to rush to return our rental car before 5:00. He noticed us struggling on the cameras and immediately came outside, reassured us that he would take care of our luggage, and encouraged us to focus on returning the car. That small act made a stressful moment feel completely manageable, and we were grateful. After we checked in, I stopped by the concierge desk, and Luis spent time walking through the itinerary I had planned for our stay. He offered thoughtful suggestions, helped us streamline our plans to make the most of our time, and made sure our young child’s interests were part of the experience. One of his standout recommendations was a half-day trip to Howth since we happened to have rare sunny weather—and it ended up being an unexpected highlight of our trip. He also recommended Pickle, which was fantastic, along with another spot-on dining suggestion. The level of care and attentiveness we experienced truly set this hotel apart. A special shoutout as well to Pablo, who offered great ideas like visiting Phoenix Park and seeing the deer (though my son ultimately chose a beach day!). We can’t recommend this hotel highly enough. If you stay here, be sure to say hello to Luis; he made our trip unforgettable.

Borderline 5 star hotel when compared to other 5 star hotels in Ireland . Great central Location . Very accessible from the airport and walking distance to central sites and event locations in the city . The hotel building has a great and long history . Breakfast is very good , gym small , bar is nice . Overall good but not exceptional .

- 468merryf (10/5): Awesome hotel/great location - We spent 4 nights in this lovely hotel on the front end of our trip and 1 night on the back end. Rooms were outstanding and staff were so far above what you normally experience. I left my phone and they went above and beyond to make sure it was returned. Luis helped with reservations, Stephen was instrumental in getting my phone back and Amin in the Mint Bar was everything a bartender/mixologist should be always remembering our favorites while offering some great alternatives. Overall everything was perfect.

- stuarte594 (10/5): Wonderful hotel - Excellent hotel, in a very central location, close to Temple Bar, Trinity College and the river. The hotel itself was elegant without being over the top and had a very friendly atmosphere. The rooms were fantastic, clean, spacious, modern and well equipped. As mentioned by others, the bathrooms in particular were very stylish with large showers in the standard rooms and an enormous bath in the junior suite. My room was at the front of the hotel and although road noise was minimal, on Saturday night you could hear the people out for a night out. Service was exemplary, except on Friday night in the Mint bar, where we were seated at a table, but no one came to take our order. Not a big deal, and they were very busy due to the rugby that evening. I'd happily stay here again on my next visit to Dublin.

Loved the room and the scent in the bathroom from the diffuser and bath and hand gels were to die for. Afternoon Tea with Danielle in the Atrium is a must and Dinner in The Mint restaurant was fabulous. Slight mix up with payment on arrival meant we were charged twice and overpaid however this was rectified as soon as it was brought to the attention of the front desk by Nicole. She was amazing and made the rest of our stay wonderful complete with a late checkout and complimentary breakfast!
- Merry122 (10/5): Hospitality from a Southern Lady’s Perspective - This hotel is excellently located next to Trinity College and the Book of Kells, close to the Castle and St. Patrick’s Cathedral. There is upscale shopping nearby and Temple Bar is across the street. The rooms are lovely and my son and I had a very large room with 2 king size beds. The shower was huge and easily accommodated a shower chair for my son. The atmosphere throughout the hotel is upscale a lovely especially the Atrium with its glass ceiling spilling in lovely sunlight. The hotel was very clean, no noise to speak of. The service was impeccable from turn down to front desk. Stephen at the front entrance is known by all and even the bus drivers honk when they go by. He was smashing in his top hat. The amenities were fine though I did bring my own bar of soap. Overall I can’t say enough good things about the hotel. Amin in the Mint Bar was awesome. The front desk were always helpful. I left my phone in the room when I checked out. When I called the front desk they already had it locked away so I can pick it up in 4 days when I’m back. Great Customer Service!

Whether it’s being met with a smile every morning by Isabella at the Morelands Restaurant or seeing John’s smiling face at The Mint Bar. Or being greeted every day by Stephen at the door. You can’t escape the hospitality. Everything about The College Green is wonderful and if you have the opportunity to stay I would take it.

The Hotel is beautiful our room was perfect, spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The staff were all very professional and friendly. - Culture25875014267 (2/5): Style Without the Service - I stayed for two nights and while there were a few positives, the overall experience was disappointing. The room itself was comfortable, but the cleanliness was questionable. The lampshades and mirrors were noticeably dusty, not just a missed spot, but enough to suggest they hadn’t been wiped down in quite some time. It’s a small detail, but it’s the kind that makes you look twice at everything else. The mint bar food was pleasant, though fairly mediocre for the price point. Breakfast, however, was where things unraveled. Service felt disorganized, and we waited over 10 minutes for a simple black coffee while several staff members stood nearby chatting. When you’re jet‑lagged, watching a coffee exist somewhere in theory is a unique kind of frustration. The host each morning was very cold and blunt. Not overtly rude, just distinctly unwelcoming — which isn’t ideal when you’re running on no sleep and hoping for even a hint of warmth. There also seemed to be no visible manager in the breakfast room. The atmosphere gave the impression that the staff were running things however they saw fit. Lucky them; less so for the guests. I mentioned these points at checkout and was met with a nervous laugh. I’m still not entirely sure what part was funny. Overall, I wouldn’t return or recommend staying.

- nhard2017 (10/5): A TRIP TO REMEMBER - My friend and I stayed in the College Green Hotel while in Dublin for a celebration. The location of the Hotel couldn’t have been better. It is so central for shopping, sight seeing and of course there is such a choice of restaurants and bars to choose from. The Luas is just outside the door no need for your car. From the moment we entered there was a lovely warm atmosphere. After check-in we were shown to our room. It was a beautiful space, the decoration and all the little touches were excellent. The beds were very comfortable and it was clean and calming All the staff we encountered were friendly, helpful and courteous. We had Afternoon Tea in the Atrium. What a wonderful space, it was so relaxing and the food was excellent. Compliments to the Chef and the team. Our server explained the menu and the different teas to choose from and was very friendly and attentive. It was a wonderful treat. The following morning, we had breakfast which consisted of absolutely everything you could ask for. Again, a lovely bright space. There is no doubt, you could see why this Hotel has 5 stars and well deserved. It was a wonderful experience and we would definitely stay there again.

The location couldn’t be better, you can step outside and you’re right in the middle of everything for dinner, drinks, or sightseeing. From the moment you walk in, the experience starts. Being greeted by Stephen or Luis instantly makes you feel welcome and relaxed, it doesn’t feel forced or scripted, just genuinely friendly. Jelena at the front desk is outstanding. She makes you feel more like a friend than a guest and couldn’t be more helpful. She went out of her way to make sure everything was right and it honestly made the stay feel very personal. Every member of staff we dealt with was friendly and helpful, and you really get the sense that they care about the guests and take pride in what they do. An excellent stay overall and somewhere we happily return to whenever we can.

The attention to detail throughout every area of the building is phenomenal. The room was wonderful, and the cleanliness was impeccable. Thank you to Petronela for preparing it with such dedication and care. It was a true pleasure to sleep in a bed where everything smelled and felt so clean. Enjoying afternoon tea at the Atrium was a delightful experience. The treats were exquisite, and everything reflected elegance, good taste, and a sense of well being. I would also like to make a special mention of the young woman Cela, who was very kind when we asked for information about the city, and of Pablo at the door, who is a great asset to the hotel. He treated us wonderfully and took our luggage to the car with a big smile. We also cannot forget Brilli, the young man who handled turndown service. When he learned that we spoke Spanish, he spoke with us in our language, which made us very happy. It is truly special to find people who make you feel not only well cared for, but also at home.

High standards of food, service, comfort and the staff were very well trained and perfectly professional but yet warm and friendly in true Irish style. Evalina, Danielle and Erwin were our servers and they were fantastic. I would highly recommend this wonderful experience at the College Green Hotel.
