AuroraP995 (6/5): Neat and Adequate - Hotel is a Walking distance from the tram line. Situated in a quiet, safe neighbourhood with a shopping centre close by. Budget friendly hotel with a three star rating. Room size is adequate with a comfortable bed, kettle and tea station and shower. Rooms are neat and cleaned daily and there is fast, free wifi for guests. The hotel also offers meals at an additional charge. Overall good value for a budget friendly hotel.

imogenw933 (10/5): Lovely Stay for a Birthday Surprise! - Stayed here for 3 nights as a birthday surprise for my boyfriend, and we had such a great time! I had emailed ahead to see if they could do something special for my boyfriend’s birthday, and they did — it was such a lovely touch and he really appreciated it! The staff were all so friendly and helpful any time we had questions. We didn’t have super high expectations for the room, but it was actually really nice and the beds were super comfy! Would definitely recommend!

Room was clean and the rooms service was great, we come didn't expect nothing when we booked and we live and leave the hotel in love with Osdorp and everything else. We surely come back ❤️

markwilliamjamesd (10/5): A nice comfortable stop during work - This is our second visit to this hotel. Last year the on street parking was free but this year there is a charge. The hotel itself is clean and comfortable. Breakfast is available but we were out early for work and didn’t have chance to try. The Staff are pleasant and helpful. We had a problem with a tap in the bathroom on our first night. Reported to reception the next morning and it was fixed when we returned. If we return next year for the exhibition we will look to use this hotel again
Frank (8/5): Location was what was needed...... - It is located near my Tante, but the beds are too soft or broken down for my liking. Value is good for the season. Carpet should be replaced with something other than more carpet. There was inconstant noise at night that sounded like "water hammer" that also kept me awake at times. Staff was helpful and friendly.

mscarroll1978 (6/5): Good, but could do better - We have just returned from a week trip to Amsterdam, staying at this hotel. The hotel is a 3 star, so we went in with our eyes wide open and were not expecting anything more than the equivalent of a Travelodge or Premier Inn. The facilities were absolutely fine. The beds were comfortable, the rooms were spacious and the shower was hot. All the basic needs ticked off for a base whilst exploring the beautiful city. It’s about a 10 minute walk to the Hoekenes tram stop through a nice park and then about 20 minutes on the tram to the main area. The hotel helpfully gives you a map with what trams you need to take to get to most places. It is so easy to get around. We did have a couple of issues whilst we were there. I emailed the hotel a few days before and was able to upgrade to a room so we had a fridge, daily bottles of water and tea and coffee makings. Sadly I had to go back to reception every day to ask for the water as it was never delivered, despite promises it would be sorted it wasn’t for the entire stay. There were a few days where the coffee and wooden stirrers weren’t replaced and the safe didn’t work and wasn’t fixed until 5 days into the trip, despite asking about it every day. The only other thing I will add is we had a room directly above the main entrance. The younger guests were coming back to the hotel in the early hours and enjoy a further smoke outside, so the noise and smell could sometimes be a bit much. However we did sleep soundly once they settled but woke up with the munchies . . . . .

62tifj (2/5): Avoid - Avoid Avoid Avoid The male staff that was working on the weekend morning was unbelievably rude I told him the hallway was flooding from a pipe by a corridor room on the way to my room, he went to look and shrugged it off asked if its my room? is it effecting me which I had to walk through to get in and out of my room, he also overhead me an my friend laughing an talking and asked what are we laughing at do we have a problem to which we asked why he would think we did? Then on the way to the room there was Cockroaches on our door an in side our room, the ceiling was water damaged and falling down, beds was falling in frame flimsy, no heating jad to ask for a heater, no kettle was told can hire for 5 euro because people wash their nickers in so definitely didn't want to hire it, windows dont open , the hotel is pretty far from the centre took us about an hour, the only positive was the female reception ladies was very nice and friendly

The hotel is approximately half an hour from Amsterdam itself and this was easily accessible by the tram (number 17) which is a 5-10 min walk. The hotel is conveniently located near shops and supermarkets if needed. The hotel was clean and tidy. The staff were friendly and spoke multiple languages. Would highly recommend if you wanted a good hotel outside the city centre itself that has transport links to all over. Would stay again.

Explore56716656634 (8/5): Beds were super comfy - I think I had a basic triple room and it was that, basic. We had no Air conditioning and it was boiling (however it was summer when I stayed there). The beds were really comfortable. The room was cleaned daily with fresh towels left neatly folded on the bed each day. The staff were super friendly providing a warm and friendly welcome. They were super helpful too. There isn't much in the area to do and there are limited food placs within a 10 minute walk. The local bus stop and tram were only about a 10 minute walk away. You can use the tram to take you straight to central station. If you walk 5 mintues in the opposite direction from the tram there is a bus direct to the airport. They don't stop outside the hotel, but they are easy enough to get to on foot. I think the tram takes 30 mntues to get into the center of amsterdam. I would allow a good 50 minutes of travel, from stepping foot out of the hotel, to get to amsterdam central. The hotel provides parking, which you have to pay for. There are bikes available for hire. I didn't have breakfast there so can't comment on this. They have snack machines and drink machines but not all of the machines accepted card at the time of my visit. I Can't complain for the price point. Saying this, then room did feel dated. But everywhere was clean and fresh. I would recommend for a budget stay. The hotel also allows you to purchase a travel card if you need one during your visit. Just makes getting around easier.

Expedia says they have laundry services, but they do not. We knew location and dining in this area would not be convenient so that’s on us. Air conditioning did not work. It was muggy and stuffy in the room the entire time. Windows didn’t open enough for fresh air to move around. The pictures make it look great, but it seems to be a very old hotel needing remodeling badly.
Verified traveler (10/5): Second time returning. Top service. - This is our second time returning to new west inn, we’d previously visited earlier in the year and was satisfied with our trip. Despite the location from the centre & the fact that one of us couldn’t walk very well at the time… it didn’t bother us that it was 20 minutes from the centre. We bought day passes for the trams (use GetYourGuide) Hoeknes stop is closest to the hotel, it’s very easy to use Amsterdam transport. There is an Aldi round the corner. I also highly recommend trying jacks and waffles which is also located next to Aldi!! I’d recommend this hotel. & I will most likely be returning for a third time! We had a relaxing couple of days in Amsterdam. Thank you.

Deresa (2/5): Cannabis cabana - I initially thought that our UBER driver made a mistake since there were ppl swarmed at the door smoking weed. Once inside we were greeted by the most unfriendly front desk staff and then given our hotel keys. The water from the bathroom was slimy with algae and the bed had a dingy throw at the foot with very used pillows. Overall I would not recommend.

Also hotel says it has laundry, they do not but can get someone to do your laundry for €25. Very loud, engines revving in parking lot at night, police and ambulance sirens through the night, kids playing in morning. Bike rental at hotel is €17.50, local bikeshare is €10. Wouldn’t come back!

Joel (2/5): Wont recommend. Needs major renovation. - Ladies at front desk were wonderful! That being said, the hotel was old and needed major renovation. First, no air conditioner. They used an air ventilation system to move air around, but it was broken going to our room. Very warm and stuffy Gave us an oscillating fan to use. Opened the window to get some fresh air in, but no screen. Mosquitos were terrible. I have many bites, but a huge one on my elbow that won’t stop itching. Was cool in breakfast area. Breakfast, for the price, was lacking. Phone in room didn’t work. Technician had already left for the day. Shower leaked under glass barrier causing water under sink. Location was close to public transportation. I’m very disappointed with the value of the hotel compared to the price we paid. Would not recommend this hotel.

The only thing to keep in mind that rooms don't have fridges, but it could be requested for an additional cost. Location is easy to get around. Overall, if you're looking on budget accommodation, New West Inn will be a great choice.
Dolores (2/5): - This hotel was not in a safe neighborhood. My granddaughter, grandson and daughter on or first and only night asked at the front desk if there was a restaurant close. It was 9-10pm. They were told where to go. Unfortunately my granddaughter was nearly attacked. We advised the front desk we would be leaving the next morning and I requested a refund. I was told since I booked through Expedia I would need to speak with them. After numerous phone calls the hotel has only refunded me one night out of a 3 nights stay.

Megan (6/5): - Requested a twin room, had to move the beds apart as they are placed right next to each other, that revealed some rubbish. Room was very dusty, clothes were covered in dust - I don’t recommend wearing / taking black clothes. Can hear peoples conversations in the corridors / opening and closing their room doors. For the price it was a nice stay - about 30 minutes from central. Located in a residential area right next to a school. You must make sure you have cash if you want to buy something from the vending machines - they only take cash!

Laura (2/5): - We noticed bites on our bodies after we had been itching all day. Once we researched the common bites it was concluded Bed bug bites. The toilet was not clean properly and garbage in waste basket from previous guests.
Anne (8/5): - Although the interior of the property is pretty dated, it was very clean, comfortable bed, the staff were very accomodating, wonderful hot shower and the bathroom was fairly new compared to the rest of the room. It is a budget hotel after all so overall was very happy with our stay. Transport nearby, approx 10 mins and plenty of shops and places to eat near. Enjoyed our stay in Amsterdam.

Doreen (10/5): - We had a comfortable stay, It was very noisy and the windows are too old to block out even someone coughing in the street. The rooms all look a little tired. The pillows are very uncomfortable (lumpy) and so were the mattresses which was the same for all 4 beds in our family room. Bathroom was clean but also looking very tired. Environmental claims cannot be substantiated with plastic beakers and changed towels which was not necessary on a short stay. More hanging/storage facilities in the bathroom needed in a family suite. TVs could be upgraded to smart ones. The nightly room rate wasn't cheap, so I think some upgrades are needed. General cleaning was ok, but we did find belongings from previous customers in our room which meant that its not thorough enough. Breakfast was plenty and my only comment would be to add fresh fruit salads instead of tinned or a bigger variety of fresh fruits on the side.
Mitch (4/5): DO NOT Leave valuables in your room - Basic hotel over 40 mins from the centre of Amsterdam so expect to use your travel pass, hotel is in the middle of a housing estate with some supermarkets near and bus/tram links to the airport and Centraal Station DO NOT leave valuables around in your room as I came home to find my UK currency wallet had been emptied of the money I had left for when I got back to the uk and this left in my bag, so in short I suspect staff at the hotel had taken the money while cleaning the room. Im yet to get a response from the hotel

Building is a little older, but mostly kept very well. A few minor items like hard to adjust shower taps. Otherwise a very good deal for the location
Seyedeh- Niloufar (2/5): - I liked the staff while having breakfast & girls at reception. Guys were not friendly. The property looked clean but old. Linen & towels need to be updated. Unfortunately on our second day we had a bad experience. 2 of the shower towels had blood stains on them. When contacted the hotel receptionist, they immediately apologized for the inconvenience. I asked for manager but they said manager will contact us the next day & compensate us for the inconvenience. We never heard from the manager. At the time of check out I let the receptionist know I would like to speak with the manager & file a complaint. They said we can only fill in a form & Expedia will contact us via email. I’m very dissatisfied & disappointed with the service I received from the receptionist & I will never come back here. This was a horrible way to say goodbye to the dissatisfied guest.
