- Annette (10/5): Lovely and welcoming staff and great location! - My husband and I drove up from Baltimore and were WARMLY WELCOMED by a kind and lovely front desk receptionist who made us feel comfortable right from the start. We only stayed one night, but in that short time we were treated so well by the valet staff, and the front desk entire staff. They were friendly, offered us water and I think they gave us free vouchers for a beer and a glass of wine too! The room was clean, bed was clean and comfortable. The location is GREAT, very central and walking distance to Whole Foods, Starbucks and other nice coffee shops and restaurants. I had a nice walk in the morning and felt totally safe. Apparently the roof top deck is wonderful, we didn't have enough time to experience that part of the hotel, but I'm sure it's nice!

When we checked in, the staff on the desk were so helpful. They gave us a list of nearby restaurants and arranged for our bags to be taken to our room. The room was lovely. Beds were super comfy and everything was clean. Location wise we were really close to train station to get anywhere we needed to go. The door staff are truly some of the sweetest people I've ever met in NYC. Every single one was so friendly and kind. They treated my kid like a rockstar which he loved! Overall I fully recommend this hotel and hope to be back some day

Beds super comfy - Really enjoyed our stay at Park South Hotel, flatiron district is a good location for accessing other areas of NYC and there were plenty of amenities nearby. Hotel staff were very welcoming, helping with luggage and recommendations. Always took the time to chat about what we'd been doing each day and speaking away to our wee boy who is 8, and was having his first trip to a big city. The hotel was clean, stylish and very comfortable. The rooms were a good size with plenty storage space and power sockets. Aircon/heating worked well and wasn't too noisy. Common areas are lovely, with a relaxed atmosphere. I felt the stay was decent value for the area. All hotels here seem to have resort fees, but with this hotel they were reasonable, and you were allowed bottled water whenever you wanted, and wine was served some nights. Also you get a couple of tokens for a drink in the bar. The WiFi was included and worked really well when we used this with phones, tablets and a Nintendo switch. The TV worked well with a good range of channels, not that we used it much. The room included a good sized safe which was also easy to use.

My husband and I have stayed at the Park South Hotel regularly for many years. We love its size, location, rooms, and most of all its staff. On a recent stay, my husband had a very serious medical emergency. The Park South Hotel staff rallied to help us in a myriad of ways. We especially want to mention Chuck, Krystal, Diego, Mohammed, Barbara, and Yaya, Francesca, Ernesto, and John. Thank you!

The spaces are funky and relaxing; the design is beautiful everywhere. The location cannot be topped. Everyone at the hotel is friendly, easygoing, helpful, efficient and warm. I feel welcome from the second I walk into the lobby. Krystal at the front desk is just magical and makes everything perfect.
- lindawV1174WV (2/5): Bad customer service - Terrible customer service. I made my original booking of 5 days all at around $275 per night. Later I went and ADDED one day to the end of the reservation. I was NOT explicitly informed that this would TRIPLE the cost of the first night. I only found this out when I checked out that my adding one night to the end of my reservation changed my original rates, substantially increasing them. If I had known this would happen, I would have surely not altered my original reservation, but just added another one-night stay. The management REFUSED to honor my original prices. Yes, I should have read my confirmation emails, but I assumed the prices would remain the same (or in the same ballbark) because all I did was ADD a day. Good customer service in good faith would have not overcharged me like this.

Location fantastic 500 yards is the subway and access to everywhere you’ll need. A huge thank you to the staff for there help during storm Hernando and making sure our extra days was hassle free.

- Cherish82 (8/5): Nice Hotel Conveniently Located with Added Fees - The hotel itself was nice and was located just down the street from a stop on the green subway line. The front desk clerk, Krystal, was pleasant and helpful. The bellhop/doorman was very nice and called me a cab. Our only complaint was the $40/night "destination fee", which includes bottled water, 1 alcoholic beverage per person at the bar, a discount at the hotel restaurant, a wine bar on Tuesday-Thursday, and discounted tickets to the Empire State Building and World Trade Center. Since we knew the only thing we would use would be the bottled water, I asked if we could opt out of the destination fee and was told no. Aside from that, we had a very pleasant stay.

Barbara was the front desk agent along with another female to whom I was initially checking in with. Something was going on my business CC on my reservation and I thought I was out of luck when Barbara swooped in to save the day. She was patient helpful and understanding throughout the whole ordeal. Truly made my first time visiting the city not so hectic and I really appreciate the doorman from Trinidad (I can’t remember his name) he was the first face I saw and you would’ve thought he knew me since birth lol I really appreciate the staff here.

- Rohan (8/5): Clean, comfortable stay, really close to subway station. - Convenient location. Clean rooms. Friendly reception staff. Free coffee and bottled water. Good air conditioning. Breakfast not provided but there is a great bagel place two doors along the street. Difficult to contact the hotel by phone in advance (to ask for our 2 rooms to be close together). I was told to call different departments, and no one seemed able to help so I gave up. But shortly before our arrival I got an automatic email asking for special requests, and it was all fine in the end.

- 369vincenty (2/5): Woke me up at 5:00AM - Great location, but old hotel with some management problem. I checked in late night and expected myself have a few hours sleep to go to a business meeting in early morning. The previous guest set a 5:00AM alarming clock and the hotel staff didn't check and clear the alarming clock, thus, after I slept for 2 hours, I was waken up by it at 5:00AM and I could no longer sleep and went to business meeting with red eye. The desk has no light, the light above it has flickering bulb and will turn off automatically after a few flickering.

The staff were very friendly and helpful from the bellman who doubled as the valet to the front desk to the lovely smiling woman who served the morning coffee. The location was perfect to see a Broadway show and visit many of the attraction with a short-to-medium walk. Great restaurants, coffee shops, etc. close by. We would definitely stay again.
- what-travel-review (8/5): Boutique friendly hotel in great area - Stayed with my partner and 13 year old daughter. The staff here made us feel so welcome. We took note of their names but ALL were really good. The doormen, Johnny and Mohamed. The girls on reception Grace(?) Jason? Sorry if memory fails us. Our Room was compact but the bed was supremely comfortable. It was very noisy though at the back of the hotel with constant rubbish being collected throughout my night. We would request a higher room at the front next time. The Hotel is in a great neighborhood and is very close to The Empire State building and a leisurely 25 minute stroll to Time Square and Broadway. A subway stop is so close but we didn't need it as we enjoyed walking and seeing the sights. The bar is lovely and the food is high quality but also very expensive. The small Coffee shop was very good but again the food was expensive compared to what is available outside the hotel. This is a small 'boutique style' hotel not a massive sky scraper. We felt the service and ambience was more personal here and would definitely return again but to ask to stay on the front side of the building, higher up. Thank you to all the staff for a lovely time and for the help with bags, knowledge of the area and to the kind lady on the front desk who helped me look for my lost reading glasses 🕶️! We will definitely be back ....
- santonez (8/5): Pretty good one night stay - Spent one night at this hotel as had business in the area. I was pleasantly surprised. Clean, friendly staff, quiet. My only gripe is that I paid extra for a "city view" and it looks directly out onto a parking lot (see photo) which seemed like a real lie. I was only trying to avoid the window looking at a wall and not expecting some grand view.

- W7817EGmelissah (10/5): Welcome, Warm & a Fantastic Location - We absolutely loved this hotel! It's a boutique hotel with only 8 floors & the customer service was phenomnal! From the moment we got there, the staff was attentive, friendly and extremely helpful. The atmosphere is extremely warm & welcoming. There is a comfortable lobby in the front and a cozy sitting area with a fireplace outside. There is a full service restaurant and bar with a smaller restaurant that serves breakfast in the morning. There is also a rooftop bar, but it was closed while we were there. We enjoyed meeting several people in the bar & sitting area while having a cocktail & resting our feet. The hotel rooms are large by New York standards, still smaller than normal, but spacious enough. It's in a great location, easily accessible to everything, with a subway stop just a few steps away. If you're looking for a hotel that feels more like a home, this is the perfect spot. We will definitely be back!

- JeanTaveras (8/5): Great service in the big apple - We (family of four) stayed in room 720. It was a wonderful stay overall. The room was so quiet and that is very rare in NYC. We all slept well and the beds were so comfortable. Housekeeping service was consistent, polite and friendly. Check in was nice even after waiting. The lobby is small but beautiful and the room was a good size. The bathroom was very small and unfortunately the room did not have a mini fridge. The gym was extremely small but was empty the entire week I was there. The area surrounding the hotel is not the best and quite dirty but hey, it’s NYC. John the bellman was super nice and friendly! Lastly, this room had by far the most amount of outlets I have ever seen in a hotel room. I probably counted at least 10 sockets and two more in the bathroom. That’s more than enough for a group of four. Great stay would recommend this hotel!
- joshuatK841KG (10/5): Great spot for a family of 4 (kids ages 12 and 14). - Amazing location close to subway for long trips but centrally located to make walking uptown and downtown easy. Staff was incredibly friendly - rooms were very luxurious for the price. Lobby and lounge areas were a great place to hang out while the rest of the family got ready for our NYC adventures.
- C7180LSct (6/5): Not worth the price - I had such high expectations. I used all my Hyatt points for my stay. The hotel is small. The room had rust on furnishings and was small. I asked for a mini fridge for medical needs via email before arrival and upon check in. When I finally was allowed to check in at 2pm, the room did not have a fridge. They tried putting a mini fridge in the room which would have prevented me from walking around (the room - double bed - was VERY small). I have to ask specifically to be moved to a room with a fridge. Was told they did not have upgrade options available (because I used Hyatt points that I paid Hyatt for??) . Was put in larger room and they brought me a dirty, rusted mini fridge. I was not offered the 2pm check out time as an Discoverist member. I had to ask for it and get my keys reprogrammed. Overall, the hotel was small and outdated. You’re paying for the location. I feel like I was treated less than for using Hyatt points for my stay. Completely out of Hyatt points and did not enjoy my stay at all.

We had a double room which made moving around the room with four people and luggage for four people very difficult. I would not stay in this hotel again with four people. Two people might be doable. The lobby area is very small. The restaurant is quite nice although we did not eat there. The elevators are very tiny as well. The beds were comfortable. There are a lot of mirrors in the room, but they are all over near the entrance of the room and none near the beds. The bathroom is extremely tiny. The water pressure was just so so. The staff was very cordial and helpful.

- GrandTour61210360683 (10/5): Wondeful stay - We stayed at Park South for a week and found every member of staff to be so welcoming and helpful. The hotel was spotless, room was lovely and the bed was so comfy. Few minutes walk from the subway and would recommend Bagel and Schmear which is just a few steps away. Close enough to walk to the empire state building. The doormen in particular were so friendly and the housekeeping staff were amazing. Nothing was ever too much trouble for the staff on the front desk. Thank you so much we will be back!

- Tamara (5/5): Uncomfortable room - The beds were comfortable The air in the room was so dry and it was so hot it kept me up all night. It made my skin itch and my nose bleed. Also the pillows smelled like sweat. It was a very uncomfortable night and all I did was toss and turn. Also, the room was tiny. Not worth it for the price.

- CharlieA1970 (2/5): Hard to Sleep with the TV Flashing! Staff is nice but inept! - We were very disappointed with our recent stay at the Park South (November 6–9, 2025). Each night, the TV in our room flashed on and off as if it were trying to power up. I reported it every morning, but the issue was never resolved. On our final night, the staff had to unplug the TV so we could sleep—meaning we had no television at all. What made the situation worse was being told we’d be compensated for the inconvenience, yet no adjustment was made at checkout. It left us feeling like our experience simply didn’t matter. We’ve stayed in the area often to visit our daughter, but unfortunately, we’ll be looking for another hotel in the future.
- EN_12 (8/5): Comfortable stay in NYC - Perfect location. In easy walking distance to Times Square, Empire State Building. Staff were extremely helpful and cheery, especially the door men/ concierge. Beds were extremely comfy. We slept like a log. The only small negatives were - not enough milk/creamer in the room for tea/coffee or bottled water. Only 1 x creamer is provided per person and you have to keep asking reception for some bottled water.

- Gertper (10/5): Very Nice Hotel, Quiet and Refined - We liked this hotel very much. Great mid-priced hotel, quiet, staff was very nice and made us feel welcome. The room was the nicest we have stayed in NYC, including a heated towel rack! Furnishings were nice - my husband remarked “they took care and nicely furnished the room.” Less than a block to the subway and a mile plus walk to the theatre district. Excellent condition, we will return!

- DEP3 (8/5): An urban gem of a hotel on East 28th Street! - We would have given this great hotel 5 stars instead of 4, but the 5 comes only if you pay more for the larger room, which makes the entire experience absolutely superb; otherwise , the smaller room is really small- it may be ok for one person but for two people, it’s a stretch. If small size of the room isn’t an issue for you ,then the hotel rates 5 out of 5. What to know about the East 28th street hotel location:: this hotel is in a very real area of New York- not your typical sleek and manicured tourist area . Area is known as Murray Hill, and Kips Bay is there, too.Lots of residential buildings- both high end and otherwise ; It continues to be an up and coming area- there’s a Whole Foods within walking distance, lots of Indian restaurants and Korean ones nearby, fruit stands on the street , the subway is down the block from the hotel, with a street vendor there during the week who has the best prices for baseball caps, faux Pashmina scarves, etc. Walking distance to NYU Langone, etc.. The hotel is just the right size- eight stories with a hopping rooftop bar during the summer. Complimentary coffee and tea off the lobby in the morning , with option of ordering breakfast there, too ( but the superb bagel shop next door has it all, too).; wine in the afternoon in the lobby. Excellent doormen and front desk staff. Niti at front desk is outstanding - a shoutout to her in particular! Security is excellent,hotel is on the older side , rooms are immaculate., and up to date . Small enough so you wont wait forever to check in. We got the bigger room this time, and it made all the difference in the world- it was spacious and now we know that we will always want to stay here. This hotel is pricey, but what isn’t in NYC when it comes to a safe and clean hotel? In short, we love this hotel for its personalized experience, its immaculately clean rooms,as well as for the real feel of the area.

- tomaszwX1239MA (8/5): Not bad but needs improvements - In overall very good place to stay. In the middle of Manhattan so technically everything was nearby if you like sightseeing. In room air con machines are quite loud and it is really not a pleasant sound when you try to sleep after a whole day walking. The view from our window was totally rubbish as we just seen industrial area behind the hotel. The only downside was on the last day when we used the roof top bar. Quite a nice place with a good view and atmosphere, however seeing a cockroach was a big NO for us and we left immediately.

- danicalifornia0405 (8/5): Satisfactory Hotel - I decided to stay here while in NYC for a couple days to see the US Open. It had been a while since I was last in New York, and I had never stayed in this area but heard good things. Overall, the area was great with lots of restaurants, coffee shops, shopping, and a nice park nearby. The hotel was sufficient for our needs. The room was small but decent sized for Manhattan. It was clean and had a comfortable bed. The staff weren’t particularly friendly, but they helped whenever you asked for it.
- AlicanteSpain (10/5): Excellent location! - We stayed at the Park South hotel last week & the hotel is amazing!!! It’s in an excellent location, was able to walk to most places without using the subway but there is a subway on the corner. There is also a big Whole Foods on the other corner. The rooms are big for New York & you also get tea & coffee in the room plus bottle water every day. The rooftop bar is very cool with amazing views of the city. The reception girls were so helpful & friendly & they have the best doorman ever, Chuck always greets you with a smile & always happy to chat. When we go back, we would only ever stay at this hotel.
