They also gave my niece (it was her birthday) an upper level room for better views which was very nice. The breakfast that was included in the price was not good, just very sweet pastries and sweet yogurt. They did offer oranges so that's what I went with, and grabbed coffee and breakfast elsewhere.

32tomm (2/5): Awful experience. - Location - excellent Rooms are very tired, in desperate need of redecoration and repair. Plug sockets hanging from the wall for example. Noise Level - A/C was spectacularly noisy. Cleanliness - Cockroachtastic I kid you not. Common areas - the business lounge was dirty, poorly appointed. Breakfast - stale pastries, paper plates and a miserable lady who sat in the corner ignoring guests and eating a packet of crisps. Staff in the hotel were friendly but not particularly attentive. For example - we arrived early and I was told the room was currently being cleaned and would be ready soon. We went to lunch returned and it wasn't ready, We were told it was nearly ready again, 45 min later it was ready which was the actual check in time. Lesson - manage customer expectations better. Lifts - noisy, slow, dirty. Overall. The location and price are good but apart from that a really really poor experience.

Gaukhar (9/5): Come and stay at City Club Hotel in NY if you travel not for sitting but for active time and fun - The location is wonderful: near to all main Manhattans’ sightseeing areas. The other advantages are the breakfasts and the polite and friendly personnel. The room was small for 4 people

SusanCruises (10/5): Hidden Gem in NYC - I was so pleasantly surprised by the City Club Hotel. Their dates were so reasonable and I was hesitant that I was paying for location and nothing much more. I’m glad I took the chance. All of the staff is wonderful and friendly. In particular Robenna and Billy were so helpful and went out of their way to make sure I had a great stay. (Note to management: give them a raise!) The building is old and although parts are shabby (some peeling wallpaper, cracked paint) it has wonderful bones. And everything was very clean. The first room I was in was spacious and had interesting details. I asked for a throw pillow to be replaced because it smelled like smoke. Instead they upgraded me to a gorgeous bilevel suite. I was told that they were renovating. I’m hoping not too much because I don’t want the price to go way up!!!

It’s located between the other hotels so I felt very safe. The staff were friendly and welcoming. And the restaurant/cafe we had a breakfast is also nice atmosphere, friendly and cozy. The building self is not new as same as the room. But still clean and I enjoyed the classic style. The size of room was quite nice. The bathroom’s shower curtain was not nice. But I liked the big mirror.

francescorQ2787EC (2/5): Deposit used for full taxes, no refund, no replies - Title: Deposit used for full taxes, no refund, no replies We stayed at City Club Hotel Manhattan, room 406, reservation under Valentina Morgillo, booked from April 17 to April 26, 2026, but actually used only from April 18 to April 25 due to force majeure and airline/travel disruption. A USD 500 deposit/card hold was taken. The hotel deducted the full occupancy/tourist taxes from the deposit, issued no refund for the unused date of April 26, and provided no clear written explanation. This is especially disappointing because we were verbally told by the responsible person/manager at the Manhattan property that, if the April 26 refund could not be processed, the hotel would at least not charge the related taxes to compensate for the unused date. Instead, they took the full taxes from the deposit and refunded nothing. They never replied to any of the numerous emails. By phone, they kept me on hold for about 13 minutes and then hung up. When I tried to call again, they never answered my calls again. Very unprofessional handling. Future guests should be extremely careful with deposits, final charges, taxes and verbal refund promises. Keep all receipts, screenshots, emails and card statements.

Nice continental breakfast. No in room refrigerator, coffee maker or microwave. We liked the hotel.

Four weren't ready upon arrival, one had no heat, one had someone in the room when our guest opened the door, bathroom shower curtain moldy, hotel smelled and they put a $600 hold on your credit card upon arrival! When I called to cancel our 5th room for the employee arriving the next day front desk said to call Reservations in the morning. I call the next morning and the front desk tells me to call the other number on the website. There's only one number. I emailed the manager via the email on the website came back undeliverable. Do not stay here! After numerous calls and emails and moving our 5th room to another hotel no response received on the issues encountered and no refund on the cancelled room.

Tim (5/5): If price is your concern, then this was ok. - Front desk staff was pleasant and helpful. The location was great. Small, outdated rooms. Mattress was old and slightly caved in. Bathroom floor felt tilted and soft. Stains on the couch area. TV cords hanging out.
Cyd (8/5): It was a wonderful stay in a great location. - The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The king lux room was a wonderful surprise with crown moldings on the ceiling, loft bedroom and comfortable bed. The hallway can use updating.

Klaudia (3/5): Very disappointing given a relatively high price paid - The location next to the Times Square. The staff was friendly and helpful. The first room we got - with a view directly onto a wall. There was a bad, smoky smell coming out of the AC. We asked to be moved to another room, which we could for the second night - there was a cockroach in the bathroom. The AC did not work at all - it was very warm in the room in the night. The breakfast was very poor - only one type of yogurt and some stale baked goods.

Gabriel (8/5): Hotel que cumple con creces para tu primera visita a Manhattan. - Ubicación excelente, entre la 5ª y la 6ª avenida. Muy cerca de Broadway y de Times Square. La habitación que nos dieron permitió alojarnos a los 5 juntos (matrimonio + 3 hijos). El desayuno, justo y con poca variedad pero suficiente para salir del hotel con el estómago lleno. La única experiencia negativa tuvo que ver con que desde el hotel nos ofrecieron el transporte hasta el aeropuerto con precio cerrado. Cuando llegamos al aeropuerto, el taxista nos cobró bastante más de lo acordado. Así que quizás hubiese sido mejor contratar por nuestra parte un Uber y desplazarnos por nuestra cuenta.

Mufridah (9/5): Fantastic, would definitely stay again. - I thought I was going to have an incredibly tiny room based on the website description, and when I arrived, it was two queen size beds, and bathroom with full amenities; the breakfast bar in the morning gave me just what I needed (which is to say I need coffee and they had a great machine that would brew lattes on demand and I had a glass of orange juice) and everyone was very friendly and the location absolutely could not be beat. I needed to be close to Grand Central and it was just a couple blocks from that. It was just a very, very easy stay and I was super grateful to have found it on such short notice.
