Kali (4/5): - The rooms are gross, stains on the sheets/comforters. The bathroom had mold, our toilet wouldn’t flush. The staff did give us a new room after 24 hours of no toilet, but the new room was just as bad, with a working toilet this time. A miserable stay.

Mariasnelys (10/5): - Wonderful place to stay and take in all the views. Great balcony room to enjoy the city of Rome's busy streets, sights, people watch everything. The hotel inside has many little places to wonder around and get lost in old Italian painted ceilings, courtyard, a beautiful chapel on the 3 floor. The staff is great especially Pereira, went above and beyond to help make our trip even better.

Lots a good restaurants nearby and within walking distance to the Colosseum. The rooms were huge and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend. If I make it back to Rome I will stay here again.

Kumud (4/5): - The hotel is very convenient for sightseeing. But the accommodations is very old and desperately needs a refurbish. There are not enough power points, these are two pin only so take an adapter. There is no in room or in hotel refreshments facility. So morning tea ☕ can not be done in room. The only food available is at breakfast,that is continental only no hot food. Once breakfast is done there is no facility for hot drinks only vending machines in lobby with can drinks. Bathroom fittings are loose and in appropriate , shower needs to be hand held, difficult to shower. Shame as hotel is in good location, but very poor accomodations and facilities. Star rating is wrong it should have a two ⭐ ⭐ rating. Hope this helps

The down light in front of the wardrobe was out as were the two over the bathroom cabinet making it very difficult for my husband to shave or me to apply makeup.. I asked for them to be replaced after the first night and the second night. By the 3rd night we just wanted to go. The lights were never fixed. The breakfast was certainly average. I've seen reviews stating they will make scrambled eggs if you ask. We were not told this. Also very small breakfast room that we shared with more than 20 unsupervised children running amok. Only one powerpoint in room making charging your things very difficult. And power only works when you are in the room so you can't charge things when you leave for the day. Average... just average. Certainly not 4 star.

Freedom713088 (2/5): Weekend Stay - Horrible experience, heating not working g in room in outside temperature close to zero, repeatedly complained the reception yet nothing done,bathroom and the room dated & smelling like sewer, toiletries were a joke. Room not properly cleaned not vacuumed. Breakfast of very poor quality, bread was stale so were the croissants, cold cuts were like there for days, no other option offered like cheese or even eggs. Front office desk staff very rude and arrogant, not at all professional or guest friendly. I could not find one small positive point mention. I can only suggest not to ever book this hotel, nothing less then a NIGHTMARE weekend staying at this hotel. If required I can upload pictures.

Over60guest (2/5): Definitely NOT 4 star, very basic and neglected - Don’t be fooled by their claims of “luxury” and 4 star. The hotel is rather shabby. We put up with a serious of problems which made for an altogether uncomfortalbe and unpleasant stay. Due to government regulations no central heating can be turned on until end of November. This should have been made clear at the time of booking. The building is old, vast, and freezing cold. We asked for extra blankets and even then it was difficult to go to sleep in the cold. There is no bar or restaurant in the hotel. Our Classic Room had a broken safe and broken bedside lamp so the next day we were moved to a bigger, better room, but the TV was very small, the pedestal table wobbly, no tea/coffee facilities, no ironing board. The service is chaotic. There is no sign “Yes, Please or Later” to affix to the door. One morning at 9am the cleaner knocked on the door wanting to make the bed while we were still there. Another day we came back at 2pm and the room hadn’t been done. The boiler broke down and we had a whole day without hot water. Breakfast is a very basic cold buffet, no cheese. The only positive thing about the hotel, apart from its location, is the waiter making the coffee, Russell, always cheerful. The other members of staff were monosyllabic and uninterested. The hotel is in desperate need of a good, professional manager.

However, we found the check in staff to be rude, less than helpful. The porter was equally rude and didn't seem to want to assist in anyway. The next morning staff was no better. The only nice staff was the housekeeping staff. The hotel was musty and the room very small. Overall, the location is awesome and I'd stay here again but will never stay here due to the rudeness and unfriendliness of staff. They act like they are doing you a favor. Extremely rude.
FCazzola (4/5): Disappointed - We chose this since it was a 4-star hotel. It is not possible that this should be rated 4-star! At best, it is a 2-star. It was not very clean, the breakfast was terrible, the toilet would keep running well after flushing, the sink filled with water as the drain was so slow, it was very difficult to regulate the water temperature in the tub, I went to straighten the single light above the vanity and received a shock! The only good thing was the location, 5 minutes to Termini and about 15-20 minutes to the Collesium and the Trevi fountain. I would not recommend to stay here

Dirty, mattresses old and lumpy, small and the bathroom was awful with a blocked shower that made it useless. It wasnt cheap, because of location, but basic standards were missing. Margaret-Anne (10/5): - The Antico Palazzo Rospigliosi is a charming, historic property (former residence of a Pope) in the heart of Rome just ten minutes walk from the Colosseum and Forum Romanum and five minutes walk from Termini Station, the Palazzo Massimo, one of Rome’s treasures, and a real mix of restaurants and night life. You can’t get more convenient!! What makes this little gem the best hotel in Rome is the staff. who make every stay at their hotel feel like you’re coming home!!
Krista (6/5): - The hotel is in the heart of the city, which I really liked. We stayed for three days and our air conditioner did not work well. They said they fixed it and put a fan in our room, but it did not help much. Each time we asked the front desk for help, they seemed put out to answer the questions. The breakfast was slow and did not have a lot of variety.

It is old with the smell of humidity, old furniture and the electric system in the room shut down every time the kettle was working. Breakfast is poor and the two men who attended it saved the time. They were very pleasant and served with a smile. They were the only good thing the breakfast had to offer. The cleaning lady was lovely as well. As for the reception, only one of the 3 persons in charge was willing to provide information with a GREAT attitude. The other two men should consider changing their jobs, because they are not fitted for guest services reception. Overall, the neighborhood is very well located with a taxi station in front, nice restaurants, places to do laundry and the big landmark of Santa Maria Maggiore. Nevertheless, I won’t go again to this hotel.

We and four other family members stayed in three rooms at the hotel and had a very pleasant stay. Staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were comfortable and everything worked, including the air conditioning ,and the breakfast, while Continental style was very good. They were proud of their coffee expertise and it was very good. It was obviously a very old property, but well maintained and updated.

Guide38479 (2/5): Do not stay here! - The hotel was a huge disappointment. It was musty, smelled of cigarette smoke and the AC did not work. Broken toilet seats in multiple rooms, paint coming off walls, and some water damage. The AC was on high the entire time and the room did not cool down. The hotel is in a huge need of an update and to be cleaned. Being “historic” is not an excuse to neglect cleaning it and neglect maintaining it. Breakfast was marginal and had very few offerings besides coffee and a few pastries. I know the AC in Rome is not the best, but it was terrible. Do not spend your money here. The hotel is certainly in a good area for walking and the basilica across the street is beautiful. Just stay elsewhere. The staff was unconcerned and could not be bothered with the issues. By reading other reviews I am sure they hear these complaints a lot. We were refused a refund and could not move hotels without losing our money. So many other hotels in Rome, so book elsewhere.

davidbL5762SP (2/5): NON WORKING AC - Avoid at all costs - I recently had the misfortune of staying at Hotel Antico Palazzo Rospigliosi in Rome, and it was an absolute nightmare! Despite its misleading four-star rating, this hotel barely deserves two stars. Where do I even begin? First off, the air conditioning was completely non-functional. Rome's summer heat is unbearable, and without proper cooling, my room felt like an oven. I was drenched in sweat every night, unable to get a decent night's sleep. Tried to switch us to a different room and all were 28 degrees plus! To make matters worse, the toilet seat in the bathrooms of both rooms we had were loose and wobbly, threatening to fall off every time used. It's ridiculous and downright dangerous! Customer service was decent but the situation could not be fixed as they were unwilling to give a refund so we could stay at another hotel that was in working condition. Breakfast staff was nice but higher management clearly doesn’t have the customer’s best interests in mind. As if that wasn't enough, the whole hotel had a stench. Being a historic establishment this is expected but it is clear it has not been well kept. The management should be ashamed of the conditions they've allowed to persist. Save yourself and avoid Hotel Antico Palazzo Rospigliosi. Don’t spend your hard-earned money on a place that won’t accommodate your needs!

Dan (8/5): - The location is excellent with many major attractions within a 30 minute walk and the metro station just a few blocks away. The staff was extremely friendly, especially the ones serving breakfast each morning. Rome was very warm during our stay and our room stayed uncomfortably hot.
Verified traveler (2/5): Bad experience - We ordered a classic room, but it didn’t match 4* level. #The mirror frame in the bathroom is broken #Shower base is very old and glass wasn't clean #There are some problems with electricity in the bathroom #The lamps near the bedroom dont work #no shelves in the bathroom and shower, no hanging facilities for towels (there is on above the lavatory seat😕) #there weren't shampoo in the bathroom (needed to ask) and no hair conditioner at all. After complaining to the customer service, they moved us to the superior room, which was much better, but still without refreshens of toiletries. And the worst experience was breakfast- cup of cafe/tea, bakery and cold sausages cannot be defined as breakfast - no eggs, no vegetables, no any kind of cheese, no hot dishes. There was a juice as well, but spoiled. But also the property has a great location and acceptable for public transportation

Pantea (2/5): - Absolutely terrible... The first room we were given had a fridge that was not working, a nonworking TV, and nonworking lights. The shower head of our first room wouldn't even reach the stand for it, so we were forced to hold it the whole time. We were upgraded to their "best room" and all our luggage and items were moved to the new room without any warning or permission. They left a couple of items behind and it took a while to get them back. The 2nd room did not have warm water for showering, and the sink did not have cold water, only boiling water. we had bought a box of chocolate with 11 pieces of chocolates and when we left that morning and came back at night, only 4 were remaining, which means the cleaning staff probably ate them... the area was also terrible. I was pickpocketed on the same street on my phone was taken. Do not recommend this place
SAHER (6/5): Good location and staff but rooms need refurbishin - Good location, only 10 minutes walk to Colosseum. Many restaurants, ice cream shops near by. Grocery store was just 2 minutes walk, taxi stand was across the road. The courtyard was very nice with ample seats. Staff were pleased and helpful, breakfast was reasonable. But hotel rooms and specially bathrooms are in need to repair and refurbish.
Verified traveler (2/5): Stay Away - This place is disgusting. Door card didn't work twice. Room had a horrible smell. Breakfast was a joke. Parking was around the street in a very bad location for robbery.

Mary (8/5): Perfect stay for a vacay!!😊 - It was wonderful the only negative was the room was too warm. So we just opened the windows and wore earplugs. The staff was Wonderful, helpful and friendly.

Chainarong (8/5): - It is an antique hotel but they are doing the best they can to serve guests. A very nice place with a little garden in the middle of the first floor (the ground floor is floor 0). The place is clean but they can only do so much to make it look presentable. Staffs are nice and doing their best to help. They do speak English.

Maria Fe (10/5): - Front desk are very nice people. Speak english so we can understand each other as we dont speak fluent Italian. I like our place specially the window as we open it, we are infront of the church. Very nice view. All groceries, amenities, tourist are close by. Also the terminal is close by as we use it all the time. I highly recommended the place.
Alexander (8/5): - Pleasant and helpful staff. Great location for railway station and main city centre sights. Cleaners could have been more thorough, some light fittings in our room weren’t working and the shower was getting a bit tired, but the room was spacious and given our short stay (3 nights) the above mentioned issues weren’t major problems.
Kitrina (8/5): Clean, great place to stay. - Clean, renovated old palace. Huge bathroom by Europe standards. Right across the street from Santa Marie Maggiore, and right next to a hop-on, hop-off bus stop. Very helpful concierge, and would stay here again.
Masoud Irani (4/5): - The property is dated and facilities are very poor. The rating should be maximum 2 stars. The breakfast was so limited as good as none existence.
Melissa (6/5): - The hotel entrance is gorgeous and very close to Colosseum, but bed very basic and dated deco. Missing shower door, broken bedroom lock, breakfast very limited and not served at 7am like promised. I wouldn’t want to be travelling alone and staying here personally.

Verified traveler (6/5): Mediocre - CONS - The breakfast was not appealing. - No coffee in the room. - The room is so tiny you can’t even open your suitcase if it’s not on the bed. - They sprung a fee on us for my SERVICE DOG!!! I tried explaining she wasn’t a Pet and they weren’t hearing it. Very frustrating. PROS: - Easy to find - Great neighborhood, lots to do and not SUPER touristy - Safe in the room - Good mattress

Robert (6/5): - The building is wonderful, but the management have not realised its potential. The courtyard garden could be very pleasant but during our stay no cushions were put out and the area was unused. With the proper treatment it would be a great place to drink a glass of prosecco. However there is no bar. Breakfast was poor with little choice and aweful coffee. Room was very clean with clean towels each day. Could be a great place, but is not now.
Rose (4/5): - The common areas were beautiful and well kept. The room I was given lacked any amenities. A simple item like a glass was not there. There was a device to heat water for coffee or tea but neither of those items were there. In fact if I had boiled water there wasn’t anything to put it in. As far as I could find there was only one outlet to plug annything into. The only thing left on the cardboard tray were two packets of sugar. Nothing in the refrigerator such as even a bottle of water. The only place to put my suitcase was on the one hard backed chair. When I asked about getting a bottle of water I was told the water from the faucet was good to drink. Bathroom clean but nothing like a toilet paper holder. Staff very cool and removed from helping. It appears the room I was given hadn’t been completely finished. Pricy hotel with no amenities
john (10/5): - That the hotel was close to so many eating places, and shops, and transportation. As an American traveler, I did miss a facecloth/wash cloth. I don't like just using my hands, soap, and water.

Janet (8/5): - The location is perfect, walking distance to most sites and opposite the Santa Maria Maggiore. It's a beautiful old building with many lovely features but our rooms were badly in need of an update and a deep clean, although the views across the square and of the church were wonderful. The staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was basic for a 4 star hotel, but we discovered on the last morning that you could order eggs; this should be made clear. Overall this is a unique hotel but in need of attention.
Helena (8/5): - Good sized basic room in a great location. No fridge, but clean and comfortable and quiet. Basic bathroom, shower over bath with no curtain or screen.

Alicia (6/5): - The hotel has some lovely parts, including the inner courtyard pictured. The room we moved to was nice, although small for our family of 4. It was not a four person room. It was a double with two beds added. The biggest disappointment was the cleanliness of the bathroom and the ineffective air conditioning. A four star hotel should not have black mold in the shower.

Verified traveler (8/5): Disappointed overall - The hotel was just that, nothing special. Certainly not a 4 star hotel. The staff were nice enough but nothing exceptional. Were told to leave nothing in car as it was not attended even in their own area. It was gated but gates not closed. Toilet kept running and other amenities need upgrading. The room was of good size until they put a HUGE bed taking up most of the space including the walkway around it. No restaurant and breakfast was minimal. Close for sightseeing but that is about I can say for it. Disappointed to moved to different hotel after 2 days.
