• David (9/5): Excellent stay, I would return. - Location was perfect for enjoying the Trastevere neighborhood. A short walk to the restaurants and night life but still very quiet at night. Staff were great and accommodating. Nice area for coffee and breakfast in morning. Rooftop bar was very enjoyable. Room was a bit tight for two people, but we were not in room very often.

Breakfast in the hotel was a good move as adequate enough to get us out ready for the morning. Staff v helpful and friendly. Room was clean. It's small and could hear room next door but didn't effect our stay.

The rooms were spotlessly clean, and the service was excellent—the staff were friendly and always helpful. The location is absolutely top-notch, making it very easy to explore the area. ​The only small suggestion for improvement would be the breakfast; it would be nice if there were a bit more variety available. Overall, a wonderful experience and definitely a 5-star stay!

• 741paigep (6/5): Tricked Into Eating Breakfast at the Hotel - I was having a pleasant stay at the hotel, but something happened during check out that left a bitter taste in my mouth. When I first arrived, I was told by a staff member that my breakfast was prepaid. I expressed surprise and reconfirmed with the staff member who said that I could eat for free each morning. However, when I checked out they charged me €75 for breakfast. I felt purposefully tricked, so they could get more money from me. I would not have selected their breakfast if they hadn't told me it was free, because there were countless superior options close by that had affordable coffee and pastries. Aside from that, the hotel was fine. The staff members were friendly and the property was clean. I personally liked the location, but it might not be for everybody. I am in my mid 40s and didn't want something directly in the busier parts of Trastevere, so it might not be the best location for younger travelers who want to be at the center of the action. Aside from the breakfast, the only other downside was that the walls were thin, so you could hear significant noises from the other guests.

Especialmente Eleanora, que fue muy amable y cariñosa en todo momento. La ubicación es ideal. Era la segunda vez que íbamos al San Francesco y repetiremos, sin duda, si volvemos a Roma. Doppelzimmer bezahlt, Einzelzimmer zu zweit bekommen. Das Frühstück war ultra wenig. Davon wird man auch als Europäer nicht satt. Etwa so eine Flugzeugportion. Danach muss man nochmal essen gehen.

The neighborhood is a great location— easy to walk to any major area and to get a taxi to. It was quiet and clean! The food at the restaurant was ok but drinks were good. The only reason I took a star off was the mattress was very uncomfortable. I had an aching back every morning.

• Amelia (1/5): Paper thin walls! - The location of the hotel was great, very close to lots of restaurants. Clean and the staff were friendly upon arrival. Underwhelming facilities, really bad sound issues with extremely thin walls, I could hear literally every sound coming from the neighbouring room which impacted my decision to continue my stay at the hotel. I had a horrible sleep, felt uncomfortable and like I had no privacy. I decided to leave after one night, not wanting to waste my time in Rome being annoyed, uncomfortable and sleep-deprived. Very poor conflict resolution from the staff following my decision to leave the hotel early who made it to be my fault in the end.

The hotel is in the heart of the Trastevere neighborhood, walkable to everything or easy to hop on a tram at the nearby tram stop. Friendly staff, nice rooms, great lobby area to grab a coffee or espresso. We had breakfast at the hotel once and it was very good. Overall just a great place to stay!

• DarleneX401 (10/5): Phenomenal stay and lovely hotel Staff - I stayed at Hotel San Francesco for four nights in November 2025 and they welcomed me and my father with upmost grace and professionalism. Traveling from the USA I forgot to get an adapter for my phone charger and the front desk receptionists were so kind to direct us to the nearest store to purchase one. They also provided us with information on what time the local mass took place and helped me order a taxi when my app was not working. Breakfast is absolutely delicious and fresh! Best cappuccino during my entire trip to Rome. The room was spotless and peaceful, showing a lovely view of Trastevere. The location was near all the sites we explored (we walked to the Vatican and Coliseum) and there are several cafes within walking distance. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. Wonderful service they also spoke English which helped a lot. Thank you for having us, I cannot wait to visit again!
