• heenanmj (2/5): Hotel Closed!!! No compensation! - This hotel is now closed!!!! We were just notified by email and confirmed by IHG that this property is closed! Now we are left scrambling to find another hotel for our April cruise! We booked this hotel 11 months ago and now we get notified??? We called IHG and they confirmed the closing, yet it was still listed on the IHG site. I was given NO compensation...but was offered to move to the Intercontinental for $685.00. Thanks IHG I will be cancelling my loyalty program with you...

• V9005MDtravism (4/5): Dirty and not very well maintained - $250 for one night stay. Room was quite a bit dirty. Toilet barely flushed. Floors and walls dingy. Small black/brown sticky splotches in bathroom. Caulking in shower was cracked/looked really old. Not worth $250 IMO. I get it... It's not the Marriott, but at this price point, things should be cleaner and better maintained.
• adamgR438KM (2/5): Worst place-Disgusting - This was the most disgusting hotel i have ever stayed at. The room had mold all over the bathroom walls and ceiling. To make it worse it looks like they knew about it and attempted to paint over it. The carpet was wet and smelt horrid. The entire elevator area smelt like a dirty wet dog. I reach out to complain and got a run around for days on end, still no resolution. Even with videos and pictures I sent to IGH. Do yourself a favor and don't stay here. Shame on Holiday INN and IGH.
• christopherbH5596LB (2/5): Nightmare Experience Booking and Customer Service - I had made a reservation in June of 2025 for March 2026 for one night and booked two rooms at a cost of $263.29 for each room. Two weeks before our reservation I received and email from them saying my reservation had been cancelled as they will be ceasing operations at the end of February. They added an email to help assist with rebooking at another location so I didn't panic. I emailed them and never heard anything from them. I attempted to contact them and every number I called went to reservations. They of course could not help me and they could not get me to anyone who could help. I have been a long time IHG member and strong supporter of Holiday Inn however after this nightmare I will be doing three things. Doing away with a wasted membership, telling everyone I know to not use Holiday Inn, and reporting this to the Better Business Bureau in Miami. This was totally unacceptable.
• sidkid43 (2/5): AVOID AT ALL COSTS - I have stayed in many hotels worldwide and class Holiday Inn as reputable hotel brand. This hotel has to be the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. For the price they charge that is a disgrace. It is lucky to be a 2 star hotel. The outside of the hotel is disgusting. Not even a sign which states it’s a Holiday Inn. The rooms and hallways are the most disgusting i have ever seen. You can hear noise from everywhere. Even being on the 5th floor you can hear all the noise from the street. The 2 staff members I encountered need to go on a course on how to speak to customers. The First Gentleman hardly spoke just asked for my passport and payment card and handed over my room key without explaining hotel amenities even though the hotel doesn’t have any. The second person I encountered a lady was the most unhelpful and rudest hotel employee I have ever encountered. During my trip my wife fell and hurt her elbow at Biscayne blvd. I took her back to the hotel and asked this lady if she could help me with assistance to find an emergency centre as I was a tourist. Her reply was “ Google it “. I was fuming and she knew I was. Eventually took my wife to hospital where her elbow was put in a splint. It is quite a coincidence that they don’t wear name badges. Please avoid this hotel at all costs.
• emory2001 (2/5): What A Dump 0/5 - Don’t let the nice lobby or online photos fool you. In my 50 years of life I’ve never wished I could give a hotel zero stars, until now. I know it’s popular with cruisers because it’s the closest hotel to the port, and that’s why we chose it, but this place is a dump, and we will never stay here again. I’ve included photos that speak for themselves, and: * the parking is a tiny gravel lot behind the hotel. There is a 24/7 guy out there monitoring and making sure only hotel guests park there, but it’s not secure like a garage. * our room smelled like pot and aggravated my asthma * we had no cold water in the sink or shower. The water was unbearably hot, so we didn’t shower until we got in the cruise ship the next day. The only reason I was able to wash my face is because I had the daily facial cleansing cloths that I could wet and hold in the air to cool it before using it on my face. * the bathroom was several degrees warmer than the bedroom, and this was February. I can’t imagine staying here in a hot month.

The floor carpeting appeared shabby dirty and well worn. Shower Hot water was at a trickle. No in room coffee maker. Walls showing many repairs. Closet showed previous water damage that had been poorly repaired. We were there on the coldest day in Miami since 2010. NO HEAT. Overall this hotel need a serious updating. Won't stay there again

Restaurant for breakfast, coffee good but eggs Bennie tasted like vinegar. Rude staff at the front desk - clearly hate being there. Rooms need serious updates, peeling paint, smelly carpets and etch-a-sketch size TV. Way over priced for what you get.

• mckellesmom (2/5): Never Again! - Positive: Location and staff let us check in early. Negative: stinks, construction noise, housekeeping noise, NO heat on a night that was in the 30's (slept in my clothes) and only 1 elevator out of three worked. Whatever you do, DO not use their "shuttle". I asked if they had a shuttle to the airport & was told I could book one with the bellhop that would cost $50. They did arrive on time but charged us $70 then the hotel charged us another $50 so the ten minute trip to the airport cost of $120. I definitely should have asked more questions, expensive lesson learned. Would not stay here again for sure. My charge of $163 became over $200 and I never received my receipt even though I asked for one. Feel free to email me my receipt to explain the difference since I've tried to call and can't get anyone to answer the phone.

Carpet is dirty and stained. NO HEAT. Now I realize that no heat is not a big deal most of the time in Miami, but we were there in a VERY cold Miami night. Outside temps were in the mid 30s overnight. And the hotel has no heating at all. Temps in the room was frigid. When I told the attendant at the desk that she should have mentioned the lack of heating when we checked in, she turned and walked away without even acknowledging my comment. Staff is unfriendly and the hotel is way below average. Definitely find somewhere else to stay.

Subject: Formal Complaint Regarding Stay at Holiday Inn Miami – December 20–21 Dear Mr. Richard, Thank you for taking the time to speak with me regarding my recent stay at the Holiday Inn in Miami from December 20 to December 21. I am writing to formally document the issues encountered during this stay and to request that appropriate action be taken to address them. Upon checking into our room, we immediately noticed multiple concerning issues that I addressed including those listed below. • Soiled linens and blankets, including blood stains and ripped blankets • Slow drainage in the bathroom sink • Broken bathroom door • Grout and tub distortion • Old shower fixtures with calcium buildup on the showerhead • Malfunctioning light fixtures that make noise when turned off • Overall poor maintenance, including peeling paint, worn carpet, unpleasant room odor, and outdated room condition We brought these concerns to the attention of the front desk staff. Unfortunately, we were informed that no alternative rooms were available, and that all rooms in the hotel appeared to have similar issues. Additionally, the heating system in the room was not functional, leaving the room uncomfortably cold. While we requested additional blankets to compensate, two of them were soiled and unacceptable for use. While we appreciated the friendly service from staff and the hotel’s convenient location and view, the condition of the room was unacceptable for a paid stay. This booking was made through Booking.com, and I will also be submitting a review to ensure other travelers are aware of these issues. Wir waren dort für die Sylvesterfeierlichkeiten, und der Park mit den Veranstaltungen ist genau gegenüber des Hotels. Das war wirklich super praktisch. She couldn’t find my name, she didn’t let us know when the breakfast was or given the coupon even though we paid for it, she couldn’t answer any of the questions we had. It was so outdated and dirty - it smells in the hallway and the sheets or towels weren’t clean. Some milk was outdated at the breakfast.
• Bigcityeater (4/5): You pay for what you get - This hotel has many pros and cons but the cons outweigh the pros. First the good stuff. The location is great, we love the Bayside Marketplace, the proximity to many great restaurants and the port. Another pro is the price point, in this area this hotel is cheap. The final pro is we both got a great night sleep. Now the bad stuff. The hotel is in dire need of TLC it is old and worn out almost depressing. The heater in the room was broken, it would only blow cold and with the temps in the 40’s outside, not good. it was freezing! The bathroom is tiny but the worst of it no cold water and the sink did not drain. Would I stay here again? Probably not. You pay for what you get, we paid little and did not get much,

• E1303JRfranciscaa (2/5): Unhelpful check-in and refused Expedia refund request - I had a really frustrating experience with check-in/customer service at the Holiday Inn Port of Miami. I booked through Expedia and mistakenly selected the wrong date (booked for the 22nd, but needed the 21st). When I arrived on the 21st, I explained the situation right away and Expedia also contacted the hotel to request an exception—either moving the reservation to that night or approving a refund. The hotel refused and said they couldn’t accommodate any change. I understand policies exist, but the way it was handled felt completely unhelpful and dismissive. There was no effort to work with me even though it was a simple date issue and Expedia was actively trying to resolve it. If you book here, triple-check your dates, because don’t expect flexibility or customer service if something goes wrong.
• CModz (1/5): - Nothing. They changed our room from a 2 bed to 1 bed even though they we had 3 people without any correspondence and blamed it on booking.com. The room smelled horrible, stains on the carpet, the door was broken and wouldn't shut all the way.
• Andrea (3/5): Disappointing - The location is wonderful for dinner. The breakfast was expensive ($27 pp) for stale continental with boxed frozen pancaked. The lights flicker like a haunted house. The rooms are old and musty. Went out to valet to leave and found him just sitting in my car with it running.

The shower handle fell off when I moved it and hit my toe. The toilet was leaking. Bed was hard. And the whole room stunk bad. We told this to customer service and they didn’t want to fix the problem or give us a different room. VERY over priced for a “motel 6” vibe. Also elevators were slow and one was broken

I noticed he was friendly to customers of a different color than me , I proceeded to the desk with a smile and excitement,I was on vacation. He wasn’t happy to see me at all. My son experienced a lady rep, he got a better greeting and a better room. The room was half clean although the house staff was pleasant. Will I recommend or visit again not sure.
• pe4all4 (8/5): Happy we had a good stay. - We have been coming to this hotel for over 15 years for pre-cruise stays. Yes, there has been some slippage over the years - no signage in front of the hotel, pool gone, etc. Yet we keep coming back because our experiences have been good. We had booked with IHG points a year ago, requesting a room with 2 queens and a pullout sofa, as we always do. We got to the hotel 1/9 at 11:30 a.m. Check-in was quick and easy. Our room was available - room 802. One of the elevators was out of order, so we were concerned about long waits to get up and down- especially the morning of the cruise with luggage, which was 1/10. We had a few times we had a few minutes waits. Upon entering the room it was nice and cool, clean, and overlooking Bayside Marketplace. In fact, the room actually looked newly renovated. Nothing was worn out, paint seemed fresh, beds were very comfy. TV worked. Shower was good. Enough towels - not enough shampoo/conditioner, but we tracked down one of the cleaners and got some more. We were very pleased with our stay because after reading the not-so-great recent reviews we were worried. Walls are very thin, so if you have noisy neighbors you will hear them, along with doors slamming. We ate all our meals across the street as Marina's restaurant menu was meh. Checkout the next morning was also quick and easy. We had reserved an uber to the port, which was waiting for us, and off we went! The reason for the 4 star rating instead of 5 was 1. because of the broken elevator, 2. walking out the front door and being greeting by the not-so-fortunate street dwellers sleeping against the wall was not cool, and 3. walking out the front door and getting suffocated by the cigarette smoke was terrible. I know the hotel is non-smoking, but standing outside waiting for an taxi/uber and getting smoked out literally stank! If we cruise again next January I am sure we will stay at this HI again.

I accidentally forgot stuff in the top drawer of the nightstand between the beds, I called off and on for 3 hours finally some male answered put me on a long hold came back said they found nothing. I know what I left in the top drawer so the staff must of taken it. Horrible recommendation for this place. Never ever staying there again for almost 300 dollars this was so crappy I’m still fuming about it. Especially being so disregarded by the male staff that I talked to so rude. Also air conditioning should be fixed as well

We arrived late that evening & were absolutely appaled at the conditions of this hotel. There was a horrible smell of mildew i could barely breathe in the first room we were in. My husband had to go down downstairs because we woke up with bed bugs crawling all over us. The manager apologized and moved us to another room. The second room was just as bad as the first. So bad that my husband ended up staying downstairs in the lobby to sleep. We had a friend with her two children staying in the room with us as well. None of us could sleep that night and we spoke to manager about this and was promised a full refund. We were leaving on a 5 day cruise that morning and informed her of this. She gave us her information and we have yet to be able to get in contact the hotel. We have tried and booking.com has tried as well and Noone can get in contact with the hotel. We have emailed the photos and the videos and no resolution. I had to call corporate today to complain and come to find out the manager never opened up an investigation. I would never recommend this hotel to any one and honestly there needs a full investigation on the sanitation of this hotel. The reviews that are shown on booking.com does not show the real reviews you can find on Google of all the real complaints. The photos that are posted on here do not even match what the hotel inside or rooms really look like . Very dirty and smells horrible with the stench of mold.

Wasn't clean; looked liked an old place that you are just paying for the location. Several things had scratches or chipped paint: elevator, halls, refrigerator, hotel entrance was dungy.
