- 505KimD (10/5): A wonderful experience of genuine hospitality - Ideally located, clean and the staff is very attentive and hospitable in every way imaginable from reception and bar staff to restaurant staff and housekeeping. Our room had everything we needed and at night there were no noise disturbances. Nice breakfast buffet and very friendly chef and kitchen staff. I would stay here again.

The dooor looked like it had been prayed open, closet door broken. House cleaning left a squeege in the bathroom. No iron or ironing board or luggage rack in room. Room was extremely noisy. Situated behind reception area with no door sweep or soundproofing. Lobby music did not go off until after 1am and started up at 6am.

Good vibe with very close proximity to the city center which was a main benefit. overview to the garden (as advertised for the room) meant another apartments windows that were just 2-5 meters apart. Roof in between us did not provide any greenery and thus can hardly be considered a garden.

The rooms aren't cleaned every morning and the bar staff are a little unprofessional. We had to ask for extra pillows, clean cups for coffee. The restaurant only serves al carte and not a standard menu with options it only serves fish.

Prišli sme skôr ak bol čas check-inu s myšlienkou, že si necháme veci s úschove a ubytujeme sa neskôr, ale naša izba už bola pripravená tak sme sa mohli ubytovať aj skôr čo bolo príjemné. Raňajky by mohli byť trochu bohatšie na hotel tejto kategórie. Inak nie je veľmi čo vyčítať.

- DWilson73 (6/5): Not a 4* hotel! - After a river cruise we stayed at the Albus for 4 nights. The staff was very nice and we had dinner one night at Senses and it was a great experience!! The location is great! But: * The room was very small, only about 50% larger than our cruise room. * The bathroom was very, very small and had no shelf space. * The shower is one of those with no door and the floor gets very wet and slippery. * The ‘king’ bed is 2 twins pushed together, which we expected, but there wasn’t even a common mattress pad. The beds were made up separately and just pushed together. * While dinner was a great experience, breakfast in the same space was not very good. They seemed to be disorganized and very understaffed.

- amywF9908WD (4/5): Stylish but impractical, and not worth the price - For reference, we had a room with two twin beds and a shower (no tub). We stayed 3 nights. Pros: - Great exterior noise insulation even if you're on a low floor - Stylish and quirky decor - Professional, friendly, helpful staff - Comfortable beds - Coffee station - Tea station available on request Robes available on request Small bottles of amenities (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion) Cons - I promise I'm not a complainer; these are things that just aren't right. - No room phones - you use your mobile phone to message the staff using WhatsApp, and they use an AI bot to respond. - Curtains do not block light. - There was a floodlight pointed up at our room. - Almost no interior noise insulation - it sounded like the people in the next room were in the room with us. - Poor interior lighting - no overhead light, just 1 dim wall light, one corner light stand, 2 small lights by the bed. - Door peep hole (see photo) so high up it was unusable (I am 5'3") - Tiny bathroom (see photo): smaller than on a cruise ship, only 1 hook (very small) so no place to hang clean clothes or wet towels, no shelf in shower on which to put the amenity bottles so you have to put them on the floor, sink had extremely limited storage & almost no counter space, just one tiny bar of hand soap, on arrival my washrag had noticeable brown stains (not mine), shower is open to the bathroom so the whole floor gets wet and very slippery; you are given a large squeegee which still doesn't get all the water from the floor. If a bathroom needs a squeegee, it's a problem! The person coming in after you gets wet feet just trying to get to the toilet. - Housekeeping: used washcloths and towels were never replaced, tea/coffee cups were never picked up or replaced. It appears that the sheets were not replaced. For four days/three nights, housekeeping merely consisted of refolding used towels and remaking the beds with the same sheets/duvet. - Breakfast: small room doubles as an evening restaurant; the decor is inappropriate for children (two pictures included women who were barely dressed), food offerings were simple but sufficient. It was just OK, especially given the cost. I wouldn't stay here again.

- Prepmom17 (10/5): Great location and staff. - I just spent five nights at this boutique hotel. The front desk/reception staff are simply wonderful. I called about a blow dryer and they were at my room within five minutes. I called about a floor lamp and again, were there in five minutes. The location is quite good. Several restaurants nearby. Most of the sites I wanted to see were a hike, but Amsterdam is a walkable city. It took me 25 min to walk to the Anne Frank house. BTW, taxis are super expensive. The hotel isn’t perfect. After a housekeeping visit there was still spilled 7up on an end table. There are a few worn corners on paint, and one outlet didn’t work. But I got a good rate, so I’m fine with an error. People are human. Breakfast was decent, but after the same thing every day it got old. Overall highly recommend if you get a decent rate.

The front desk cited the lack of these items were due to the fact that Albus is an “eco” hotel - yet this eco hotel provided me with 8 pieces of paper at check in, had disposable cups in the bathroom and plastic miniatures (which have long been replaced in actual “eco” hotels)..The room itself was bare, with no effort made in finishes. The bedding was extremely poor, a thin duvet with very tired looking sheets and towels that were thread bare and yellowing. I see from online forums that many of the above issues have been raised previously and seemingly ignored by management. - E9614OHmartas (10/5): Short but sweet stay - We had a wonderful two-day stay at Albus hotel with my daughter and truly enjoyed every moment. The location was excellent, making it easy to get around and explore. Our room was cozy, quiet, and very comfortable—perfect for relaxing after a busy day. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with anything we needed. Most importantly, we felt safe, welcomed, and genuinely well taken care of throughout our stay. It was a lovely experience for both of us, and we would gladly return. Highly recommended!

- 375shilap (6/5): A mixed bag! - We stayed 4 nights & booked 2 rooms. Things we liked : Location - hotel is central & therefore convenient to get to most tourist places by foot, tram & metro. Room - had a comfortable bed & hot shower. Breakfast - there was a nice selection of hot & continental foods. We especially liked the warm pastries and breads. Special thanks to the tall friendly English guy who made the best soft boiled eggs! Staff - some were friendly & welcoming. AI Bot - was super quick to respond and apologise on WhatsApp!! Remediation - appreciated the hotels apologises & eventual efforts to put things right. Things we didn’t like : No sight of leadership. Reception staff not empowered - could not make a decision on late checkout times for both rooms, said it would have to be referred to a manager. Staff - some on reception barely gave eye contact but one did challenge us about our residency at the hotel - it was embarrassing to have to show our room card as proof after returning from a day out! We thought after all the issues we had we would be well known by the team! They’re over reliant on the AI Bot to do the smooth talking! We found the initial human attitude to our complaints too blasé! They didn’t proactively demonstrate a “personalised” or “hospitable” service nor did they have an “eye for detail” as they claim on their website.
- kathyrA3693HB (8/5): Great hotel with wonderful staff - We stayed 5 nights at this lovely hotel in March 2026. The staff were fantastic. Very friendly, very helpful with recommendations, asked how our day was. Our luggage was stored until we were able to get into the room. Great location to walk to all the attractions including museums, Anne Frank house. We had room 201 which was large and included a bed and a couch. One suggestion - some drawer space would have been nice so we could unpack our clothes. The bathroom was large with a nice shower but the shower floor was very slippery.

Purchased breakfast in the morning at the entrance to the breakfast room. All I could get was a credit card receipt. How am I supposed to expense that? I does not say anything about breakfast. For a hotel that asks 260 Euro per night, this is certainly not professional and not really understandable. I cannot be the only one who has this requirement.

Aber ein zweites Mal würde ich es aufgrund des Preis-Leistunsverh - Die Lage ist toll Wir haben 2 mal an der Rezeption gemeldet, dass der Fernseher nicht funktioniert - 2 mal wurde gesagt, dass sich das der Techniker sofort ansieht. Das war nicht der Fall. Es wäre auch nicht so tragisch, wenn sie uns einfach gesagt hätten, dass sie es so schnell nicht reparieren können. Aber zwei mal sagen, dass sich das angesehen wird und danach keine Info zu geben, dass es doch nicht klappt hat uns geärgert. Außerdem wurde einmal das Room Service vergessen. Ist nicht tragisch aber für den Preis dann doch ärgerlich

- Rachel (10/5): Wonderful stay! - Staff was friendly and very helpful. The hotel was centrally located and an easy to walk to the museums and close to flower market. The room was large, bed comfortable. Easy to adjust room temperature. I had a wonderful meal at the restaurant SENSES next to the hotel. Highly recommend their “tasting” menu. Very delicious and reasonably priced.

They offered us coffee/ water while we waited. This place is the perfect location. Everything major is within walking distance. Victor at the front desk provided exceptional customer service. He was nice and friendly and overall a joy to talk to. We enjoyed our stay.

Room was good. Breakfast is well worth the money and sets you up for the day. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Brought me up a kettle when I said I preferred tea to coffee. The margaritas at the hotel bar were delicious. Great unpretentious coffee shop round the corner that my husband really recommends. Nothing

The nearest tram stop was Rembrandt square where you can catch the no 4 or 14 tram. However you can walk to almost any attraction with 20 mins. The only little grumble I would have was the practically of the room. We stopped in a splendid city room. The room was lovely, well decorated, clean and the bed was really comfortable. The only problem was usually I would take a shower first and whilst my husband then used the shower I would dry my hair and do my makeup but all the mirrors and the hairdryer are in the bathroom. So I had to wait, making it longer for us to get ready to go out. I would remove the sofa and add a dressing table and mirror, and a comfy arm chair. It certainly wouldn’t stop me returning to the hotel as everything else was amazing

- X325UDjeannetteb (2/5): HORRIBLE experience & property - After traveling to multiple countries, this property was the worst experience my family ever experienced. The staff was okay, but mostly unwelcoming. The placed us in a room behind their bathroom on the 1st floor - there is only one room on the 1st floor - and no, it was not a VIP room or experience. For those wanting room service after a long day, nope - they don't offer. The room wasn't that clean, had no mini frig/ bar, no luggage rack, restaurant not great, had to figure out on our own to plug in some rolling heaters in the room since thermostat didnt work, and room was simply uncomfortable. Our travel agent booked us here going off reviews to try - and this was a HUGE fail which we plan to share with the agency to NEVER book clients here. Amsterdam trip was amazing otherwise... but even our local private driver from the airport did not think The Albus was the best property - but said it was okay since we will be gone a lot. Not great to hear and after paying so much and the extra 12.4% tax fees this does not settle well. Would have switched hotels if we weren't already booked with multiple long day tours. Do NOT recommend - too many other better options!!!!

Si sentivano i rumori esterni (voci da altre stanze).
- E6405LIjuliab (4/5): Avoid if you like healthy food and don't like sexist decor - Although the beds are super comfortable, it's very quiet and it's a good location - I cannot recommend it. 'Boutique'? The staff (with the exception of the lovely Spanish bar man and the young Dutch man with an aunt in Devon) are uninspiring and uninterested, when they are not being unhelpful. Clearly not managed or motivated properly - it's always a leadership issue. The breakfast blurb focuses on a healthy offering - if you call a tiny bowl of sour grapes (not provided every day), some over ripe bananas and some floury apples healthy then you're delusional. No yogurt, no oats, only coco-pops and cornflakes. All of this is served in a sleazy room - dominated by a mock up of the Last Supper with gentlemen in tuxedos and masks looking toward the central barely clad figure of a young woman. It's a sad old git who thought this was tasteful. Totally inappropriate, and always has been. There must be better places to go to. I just wish my friend hadn't settled on this one.

They are all amazing but a special call out to to Raymond and Victor who made us feel so very welcome. The hotel is superbly located, beautifully maintained and has a lovely lobby as well as bar area. Would highly recommend staying here. Thank you to The Albus for making our stay in Amsterdam so memorable.

Alles is op perfecte loopafstand. Maar wat het meest opviel: het personeel. 5 sterren waardig, zo ontzettend vriendelijk. Echt allemaal. En we waren te vroeg , maar ze hebben ervoor gezorgd dat we de kamer eerder in konden dan normaal. En we kregen nog een welkomsdrankje ook. Echt, dit maak je niet overal mee. En dat maakt dat je graag een keer terugkomt. Kamer was perfect. De douche had een heel zachte straal en de waterstraaltjes moest je vangen. Maar kunnen ze denk ik weinig aan doen.
- 559margaretd (10/5): Nice boutique hotel in the heart of Amsterdam - The staff at the Albus was wonderful! This small hotel is located in a great spot - close to metro and tram stops in the canal area of Amsterdam. The bed was comfortable and the room was spacious (though I could have used more counter/desk/table space for all my stuff!) The hotel was very clean. Not surprising given the age of the buidlings, there are some rooms on a slightly different level (a few steps involved) but the hotel has an elevator for the main floors. We checked out but remained in the area for a few hours. The staff kept our luggage and we returned for breaks during the afternoon. The staff was very solicitous of my husband as I continued to do some shopping and exploring while he remained in the comfortable lobby.

- Journey630387 (10/5): Don't miss out on this gem! - Hotel Albus was such a pleasant surprise, especially for the city center. The lobby is beautifully decorated, has a coffee machine, bar, restaurant (delicious buffet breakfast), and the room was super cute and clean! We had all the amenities we needed. Great location overall, just a couple blocks from Rembrandt Square. The staff was so welcoming, friendly, and helpful! We were several hours early due to river cruise ending, and they safely held our bags so we could go explore the city. That evening, we asked about extra coffee creamer and hot tea (there's a Nespresso machine in the room), and the Manager kindly filled a cup with various tea bags, creamers, sugar packets, and lemon packets. When we checked out, we had some difficulty finding our Uber (pick-up zone is not in front of hotel due to city restrictions), and the young lady at the front desk offered to walk down the street with us to find our Uber ride; and she did! Those extra gestures were an A+++ for customer satisfaction! I wish I had asked their names, so I could provide the public kudos. Would definitely stay here again.

- Regula (8/5): Top Lage, ich würde wieder kommen, aber mit etwas tieferen Erwartungen bezüglich Ausstattung😉 - Sehr zentrale Lage, nähe Tramhaltestellen. Trotzdem ruhig in der Nacht. Für ein 4* Hotel fanden wir das Frühstück dürfig. Zum Beispiel kein Fruchtsalat (nur ganze Äpfel und Trauben), jeden Tag die zwei gleichen Brotsorten, keine Kleinbrote, ständig zu wenig Geschirr, kaum Auswahl an: Joghurt, Käse, Confitüre, Saft. Sehr wenig Ablagemöglichkeiten im Bad. Das Badetuch konnte nirgends aufgehängt werden.
