Workmen across the road were noisy and started early (6am) but not the hotel's fault

- J2Lem (10/5): A really nice stay - A very nice stay at the Indigo St George in Rome. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Our room, which had a balcony was excellent, everything worked! WiFi / TV etc, the mini bar touch is an excellent plus. Breakfast was very nice plenty to choose from. The location is great for visiting Rome, right by the river and in walking distance of most sights. We spent 2 days walking around a lot of the city, there is so much to see it will take many more trips ! It is not close to a Metro station so you do have to walk or get a taxi if the distances are a little too far. There are plenty of good restaurants nearby and in the hotel. All in all a really good visit.

Great blend of character and modernity, perfect (quiet) location and above all every member of staff was delightful. They even managed to suppress their euphoria when we trudged home well beaten by Italy in the rugby! Will definitely be back :)

- betwsguy (10/5): Superb - Have stayed in other Indigo properties - IHG Platinum Elite so brand loyal - but this is the best by far. The location is ideal. Tucked away off the main road but easy access to the Rome must-do's. 15min walk to the Vatican, 20 to Trastavere, 25 to the Colosseum. Hotel staff can arrange taxi's with prompt service. The Indigo brand is all about the local neighborhood and the decor and staff knowledge is spot on. We relied on the front desk for restaurant reservations, all quite non touristy, and had great experiences. All staff interactions were impressive - very good bartenders in particular. Decor to a high standard throughout the property. Very highly recommended!

There were interesting artistic touches in every space, and all were immaculate. The bed and pillows were comfortable; there were even washcloths in the bathroom. The breakfast buffet was delicious, as were the dinners. The bar was also excellent.

While being walking distance to many attractions, it is a few streets off a main road so it’s not crowed while entering/exiting your hotel. You can see the River from the rooftop and The Vatican and Traverse are right across the river. The complementary steam room, sauna and jacuzzi (by appointment only) was a wonderful way to relax at the end of a long day of walking.

- L2331TOjoer (10/5): Great 5 star Historical hotel and spa - It is a great hotel with 5 star amenities. I love that they emailed us that we are upgraded to a higher class room before we checked in. We checked in and the receptionist was so gracious to us and they took care of our luggage as we go about our day. Our room was immaculate with a big walk in closet that could accommodate all our luggage. The fridge inside was always stocked with complimentary snacks and drinks that kept us spoiled our whole stay. The in room coffee and tea service was excellent and fully stocked at the end of the day. The turn down service everytime we come back at the end of the day was consistent with our rooms spectacularly clean. The service is superb and they went way above and beyond especially when we need a taxi service and other stuff. The spa is magnificent and relaxing and ensures our privacy. Can’t wait to go back.

All the staff were so amazing, very helpful and professional -- from reservation to front desk. Couldn’t thank them all well enough for making my birthday so special and memorable. The only slight issue we’ve had was the clicking noise in the air-condition, but this didn’t prevent us from having a great stay. Thanks again for the wonderful stay!
- leanne1812 (10/5): Excellent choice for Rome. - This hotel is an excellent choice in Rome. It’s centrally located, very close to the Vatican & walking distance to all the major sights. It’s located on a quiet street with a few restaurants just a short walk away. The hotel granted my request for a king bed although the room description did say queen. That was much appreciated. We booked an entry level room & it was very compact but functional. Comfortable bed, clean & warm as the nights are chilly in January. If I could have one wish it would be for a coffee machine in all rooms. Currently it’s only certain rooms which include this. Our package included breakfast which was very nice. A good selection of buffet & a la carte with omelette, eggs Benedict, pancakes, porridge etc. The restaurant staff were excellent, very attentive & checking you had everything needed. I’d stay again & recommend for the location & the very helpful, friendly staff.

Also, Laura at the front desk was very friendly and helpful with our questions. Only one bed. Also the tour of the Vatican was very confusing. However, we have found the one we will be returning to from now on ! Check in was friendly , welcoming and efficient.Our room was large , clean and comfortable and we slept well. The bar and restaurant staff were exceptional . They really are very good at their jobs . We ate in the restaurant three evenings and the food was fabulous .It was beautifully presented and tasted as good as it looked ! There was lots of variety at breakfast . The position of The Indigo St George is perfect for walking to all the main sites. We really enjoyed our stay here and felt well looked after. We will be back.

We didn’t eat there - only breakfast one day which was a bit complicated to work out the pricing. Our room was very nice - my only small criticism - the mattress was harder than I like. Lovely staff. Very helpful. Highly recommend. Loved loved loved our stay.

Coming from Sorrento, staying at Hotel Bellevue Syrene, this hotel is not even comparable to that 5 star hotel. The staff was on point, food amazing & the room dreamy. Our “premiere” room here is small, stuffy and less than “charming.” 2 drinks in hotel bar $46. Definitely should have done more research before booking.

We had the best time in Rome and this hotel was a prime location for exploring. Breakfast was exceptional with choice and staff were so attentive (the older gentleman) . I would highly recommend and will return again.

- peggym424 (10/5): Beautiful Hotel - This is one of our favorite IHG hotels. The service was outstanding. The hotel offers extras amenities such as a sauna, spa etc to reserve if wanted. The breakfast was very good with lots of variety both hot/cold. We left early for airport and would have missed breakfast, but they had the best grab and go made up for us. The location is about a 10-15 minute walk to Vatican, but we walked easily to all the other sites. They really spoiled us here. We will be staying here again on our next trip to Rome.

- sburg0s (10/5): Great Stay at Hotel Indigo St George - Traveling to a Mediterranean Cruise, we stayed both on the front end and back end of the trip at Hotel Indigo St. George. I cannot say enough or express enough how wonderful our experience was. We also enjoyed both brunch and dinner at the restaurant to fabulous service and cuisine. The rooms were clean. They helped make our driving arrangements and booked us a tour. We mainly interacted with Marcos and Lucrezia, however, everyone we encountered was 5-star. I would highly recommend this hotel as a place to stay while in Rome.
- miyuki88 (10/5): Love this hotel - We stayed at the hotel twice (for a few days before our cruise when we were visiting Rome and for one day after our cruise before flying home) and had two different rooms. The first was a regular King room on the first floor which was huge and the second was a King room with a balcony. While the balcony was lovely, and we really enjoyed sitting our having a drink, the room was small and hard to navigate with our giant suitcases. The hotel is in an amazing location and made it so easy to walk to everything (the Vatican, Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, etc.). The bed was very comfortable and the room was very clean. Both our check in experiences were terrific. We received some wonderful restaurant suggestions and just general fun places to walk around. I cannot recommend this hotel enough!! If we go back to Rome, we will stay here.
- MissHAD (10/5): A lovely hotel, good location. - Hotel- Location on a quiet side street. Walking distance to a lovely flower market, plenty of shops and cafes. Nearby to interesting churches and buildings. A 50 minute taxi from airport. Be careful- we were told flat rate 55E but the taxi charged us E75. Check in - easy snd smooth. We arrived early and left our luggage at the hotel while we went for a walk. Room 309 was a large room with everything you need such as wardrobe space, big bed, kettle, free mini bar. I think we booked a standard double and were impressed at the size of the room. No USB ports for charging phones etc. Something to note. Black out shutters were helpful. Spa- a lovely spa with jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. Book in advance. Very relaxing and private. Very clean. Treatment was 90 E for a 50 minute massages which was a lovely treatment. Restaurant- book in advance. We ate in the outdoor space which had a nice menu and felt like a treat. Attentive staff and good quality food. Rooftop bar- a great addition. Was quiet and enjoyable for a drink in the evenings. The staff were helpful, knowledgeable, polite. I would recommend this hotel for a city break .

The shower is great and the towels are soft and fluffy. The air conditioning works great. Love the area the hotel is located in and safe to walk at night. My husband loved the cookies. The spa was awesome and also complimentary to use the baths, suana and steam room with a reservation. We wanted to get massages at the hotel because they also provide that service however, that it was booked for the days that we were there... bummer. Overall, really enjoyed and would stay again!
- hunkydoryf (4/5): Below average - Odd Hotel Experience Reception staff were moody and unwelcoming. Very strange system for spa access — you have to book an hour slot for the sauna, steam room, and hydro bath. One person can book the whole space (which easily fits 8 people) and then not show up, meaning others are denied access. As a result, I never saw anyone actually using the facilities, even when they were fully booked, and we were not allowed access. (Note suana / steam / x2 baths all sat empty) Décor was clean but quite tacky. Most staff were unhelpful, with the exception of the man working in the gym/spa area — he was friendly and accommodating. Location is convenient for getting around Rome, but the hotel is lacking in both style and service.

- K5629KXandrewf (10/5): Lovely, quiet location - We had 2 lovely stays at Hotel Indigo Rome in September. We were there before a week in Sorrento and then after before we headed home. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Our rooms were spacious and well appointed. Bonus of having the mini-fridge full of complimentary drinks and snacks! The location was great. It is very walkable to many sites. It is on a quiet street which we really like. It is not in the middle of the hustle and bustle and for us that is a nice place to call home. It was only a block or so to the river which made for lovely tree-lined strolling during the heat of the day. Breakfast in the back patio was delightful. We did not buy the included breakfast but we ordered a la carte and that worked well for us. The food was delicious.

We would have given up all the food for take-away coffees.

- NikolaGuy (6/5): Average hotel at high price point - For Rome standards, this is a an average hotel at a very expensive price point. It’s popular due to the fact it is an IHG member hotel. Location is ok - 30 minute walk from some of the key attractions including Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps. Rooms are small… we had the King bedroom and it was tiny. Servicing of rooms not good - bathroom amenities not replenished, including one of our bathrobes. Cups in our room were dirty on arrival so we chose not to use them for the morning Nespresso sachet coffee (note there is no coffee machine in your room - just a kettle). The highlight of the hotel is definitely the Roman Bath spa in the basement which included spa, sauna and steam room - free for use if you are a hotel guest, but you do need to book. Rooftop bar also nice with friendly bar staff! We chose not to eat breakfast at the hotel due to the cost. Won’t stay here again - we know there are nicer hotels at better price point!

- Ena (10/5): Student Drop pff - I came to Rome to drop off my daughter at John Cabot University. Originally chose it because it was close To the university and to the Vatican. We love to walk. Not only was this convenient, but it turned out to be a great place. They have a great breakfast. The staff is amazing and helpful. The rooms are very clean. The mattress and pillows were not the best, but I requested different pillows and that was 100% better. I recommend this hotel because of how clean it is, its location, and the staff. Nothing was fatter than 25 minute walks. That is the tourists sites. The university and the Vatican were only 10 minutes away. It is also in a very safe area.

- andienarwhal (10/5): Great location and comfortable rooms - Great location and very comfortable rooms. We enjoyed our stay, our room was quiet and large and the free minibar is always a fun perk. We arrived for late check in after our flight arrived and had a quick snack at the restaurant which was overpriced and food was ok. (the cover situation is strange in general in that you have to pay for 3 covers when all we wanted was a quick bite after a long journey but there were no other options in the hotel). Man behind desk at check in was not particularly helpful with food or later in our stay with booking jacuzzi use (telling us to book it downstairs when there was no one there, but woman at the desk helped us out) but it was nice to have a sauna/steamroom/jacuzzi you could use for free. I am a Silver Elite IHG member and should automatically have late check out but had to ask and was first offered a 1pm checkout and when I asked for 2pm, I was told I can have it "just this one time". Ultimately I got what I needed, but not sure I needed to be chastised for it when it comes with my status. Anyway, these strange moments didn't take away from our enjoyment of our stay and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
- Storyteller38627 (10/5): Amazing Eternal City Stay ! - We stayed at the Hotel Indigo St. George for 4 nights. The stay surpassed our expectations, and then some ! Location wise , away from the noise and business of the tourist spots , yet a 10 min walk to the Vatican and 15 min walk to the tourist area . Breakfast was fantastic . The spread was huge . The restaurant placed in the courtyard was picturesque . Breakfast was included in our package and we had an early tour one morning , which meant we would need to leave before the restaurant opened . The staff volunteered to organize a packed breakfast for us ! The room was a great size . The complimentary minibar was great to have juices and snacks for on the go and was replenished daily . The staff are what make the experience superb ! To make a few , Emiliano , organized our transport before our arrival - so detailed and accurate ! Marco was great at front desk and (I can’t remember her name ) a lady from the breakfast restaurant looked after us every morning and packed us exactly what we wanted for our boxed breakfast . It is rare to see a team work in such unison at a hotel . Outstanding stay !!

Whenever we travel to Rome, it’s almost unthinkable for us to choose anywhere else. The only aspect that could be improved is the minibar, which cools beverages but doesn’t fully chill them.

The breakfasts offer bellísima options and a tranquilo outdoor cortile in which to dine. The girl with the frizzy hair at the front desk, Lucrezia, gave us a lot of help at check in. Breakfast discount, late checkout and hooked us up with Platinum benefits. She also helped book a spa time for us. The hotel also recognized our anniversary and sent us complimentary prosecco within about 2 minutes of stepping foot in our room. Giancarlo presented it to us and we were very excited! Giorgia an excellent breakfast hostess in training. Just an all-around great hotel they understands the true meaning of hospitality. We were just your average tourists in Rome but staying here made us feel like VIPs as we made inroads to different parts of the city every day (great location too).

The service, attention to detail, and care shown by the staff, from the front desk to the breakfast restaurant to housekeepers, has been very impressive. The location is perfect for the Vatican and even the furthest "sight" was only a half hour walk. The decor is classic yet contemporary and the rooms well-appointed. Not cheap but not outlandish for a hotel with all this to offer.
