Als smoes hadden ze dat het hotel volgeboekt was. We konden 1 of 2 verdiepingen omhoog, maar dan zouden we qua kamer een downgrade krijgen. Terwijl ik wel 330 euro per nacht had betaald. Grote teleurstelling en slechte eerste ervaring met Sheraton. Voor mij nooit meer.

They have upgraded my room and it was wonderful. Front office staff were very cooperative. House keeping was excellent and kept the room very tidy. Restaurant staff were very friendly, and supportive. Very nice neighbourhood and nice mall within walking distance. Value for money, though the season was a bit busy period. Even after 4 months when contacted hotel team for a particular reason, the team was responding with sincere effort and fulfilled my requirement. A big Thanks 🙏

From the moment I arrived, the reception team was incredibly warm and welcoming – truly set the tone for a great stay. The staff throughout the hotel were always helpful, professional, and genuinely kind, ready to assist with a smile. It's rare to find such consistent and heartfelt service. A special shout-out goes to the breakfast offer – it was absolutely wonderful! A great variety of fresh, tasty options to start the day right. Whether you prefer something light or a full hearty meal, there's something for everyone. The location on Diagonal is perfect too – close to shops, restaurants, and public transport. Comfortable rooms, clean facilities, and a great vibe overall. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Barcelona. I'll definitely be back!

We are both in our 70s and booked a one-night stay at Sheraton Barcelona Diagonal ahead of a cruise departing from Barcelona. This trip was incredibly special to us — a once-in-a-lifetime holiday we had saved for over many years. On the very same day we arrived, we had also received devastating news from my husband’s doctor that he has cancer, making this trip even more emotionally significant for us. Unfortunately, due to what appears to have been an honest mistake during the booking process, we unknowingly reserved two rooms under the same name for the same night. We had absolutely no awareness that this had happened, and it only came to light at check-in — by which point it was far too late to make any changes. Rather than showing any understanding or flexibility, the hotel staff bluntly informed us that, because the reservation was past the amendment/cancellation deadline, we would be charged for both rooms — despite only needing and using one. The attitude we encountered was essentially: “you should have cancelled.” But how could we cancel a reservation we didn’t even know existed? As a result, we were charged nearly €800 for a single night in a standard room — an enormous and completely unexpected financial burden for two retired people living on a fixed income. Our daughter works in the travel industry, so we do understand how booking policies and cancellation rules operate. However, we still expected some level of empathy and discretion, particularly given the circumstances and the fact that we were genuine guests staying at the hotel. This situation caused significant distress right at the very start of what should have been a joyful and relaxing holiday. Instead of enjoying our cruise, we spent much of our trip worrying about how we would manage this unexpected expense. Given everything we were dealing with, the lack of compassion or willingness to help from the hotel management only made matters worse. We understand that hotels have policies, but there should also be some level of flexibility — especially in situations involving genuine mistakes and very difficult personal circumstances. Sadly, this experience has left a lasting negative impression on what was meant to be a very special trip for us.

But this time I was offered this experience that I never expected. After asking about the Catalan way of tomato and garlic bread, the two young men at the checkin counter put a basket of the ingredients in our room! My roomie and I came back after a long day of business and were ecstatic! We loved it!

The breakfast buffet was delicious with an amazing variety each day, and it just made things easy for us so we never had a concern about making sure we were ready to start our day. The staff was very friendly and made check-in and check out easy. The room was always kept clean and although not big it was spacious enough for my wife and me. The location of it was pretty good as it wasn’t too far of a walk to the nearest Metro station. There were plenty of local shops, cafes, and restaurants within a short walk (some literally 30-60 seconds from the hotel entrance), and only ~15 minutes to the beach. We wanted a hotel that wasn't in the heart of the tourist area, i.e. Sagrada Famiglia, and this was definitely that. But getting to the tourist areas from the hotel was very quick and easy. We didn't use the fitness center on this trip, but I checked it out. I liked that it was on the 12th floor and had a fantastic view of the city. The equipment appeared in good shape and overall seemed like a good, basic hotel gym. Again, we were very pleased and would absolutely stay there again.

Room not ready for check in after 3 pm and poor customer service - We arrived just after 3 pm and blonde woman in reception checked us in but said our room was not ready, said to leave and she took my phone number, said she’ll call me when room is ready. We wondered around not being able to start our Barcelona visit because our backpacks were heavy, we returned after 2 hrs even though nobody called us. Our room was ready but that woman never called us, she finished her shift and went home. Two days later I went to reception because she was on shift again and she completely denied it was her who checked us in and tried to deny everything but I told she knows who I am because she asked me to write my phone number down and she never called. Nothing was offered to us for inconvenience, and they still obviously expected us to check out at 12 pm. She is very unprofessional and it is completely unacceptable for room to not be ready at check in time, especially considering the price for the basic room we had was €220 per night and we stayed for 3 nights. It’s a shame I didn’t get her name otherwise I would have written her name here. When the hotel was contacted by the platform I booked with, the hotel declined any refund for inconvenience and basically denied any fault for not getting the room ready on time for guests. This says it all. If you see her in reception avoid her and go to see one of her colleagues, the others are professional and very helpful. I am starting to believe this is something to do with Marriott chain, this is the third time we use this chain, all in different countries and we did not have a good experience with customer service, all with reception staff. Avoid.

All Staff are amazing as if they were my parents or something??? The hotel is modern very clean and adorable I slept better than at my home ... The location is just P E R F E C T. You have literally everything nearby, all shops , restaurants, supermarkets, activities, the beach .. all by walking 1 - 15 minutes. Even the Breakfast was very tasty
- Adina (2/5): Poor customer service, room not ready at check in time - Clean room and good location. We arrived just after 3 pm and the room was not ready for check in. Blonde woman who checked us in said the room should be ready in 30 min and said we should go somewhere, she took my phone number and said she’ll call me when room was ready but never called me and she finished work. We came back at 5 pm and got our keys, 2 days later I went to reception for something else and she was denying the whole thing, said it was not her who checked us in. Not ok to get there for check in time and our room to not be ready when we paid €225 per night (room only), and no refund or late check out to be offered in exchange. Very poor customer service and we won’t return to this hotel or chain.

The staff were genuinely kind and helpful, always welcoming and ready to assist with anything I needed. Breakfast was fresh and satisfying, with a good selection to start the day. The bed was especially comfortable, making it easy to unwind and get a good night’s rest after exploring Barcelona.

We got the big room with a city view, the bed was very comfortable and the room was spacious. Would stay again! The room was a little old and worn, and the cleaning could have been just slightly more thorough. It was clean, but the coffee maker for example was very dusty.

Windows can open, which is great for some fresh air. There is a sport's bar corner in the lobby - showing football games. Hotel is located in excellent neighborhood, with plenty of restaurants and little groceries. It gives very posh local vibe. Very walkable, clean and easy on the eye. It is 20 minutes walk to Sagrada. Tram station is very close if you don't want to walk. Generally, Barcelona is easy to explore by using public transport, which is perfectly organized and affordable. All in all, if we were to come again, we would pick the same hotel. Note to other travelers: parking fee is 25 euros per day and is across the street from the hotel's entrance. You have to get to the lobby and have someone come out and open the parking door for you. Parking. Given the price of stay, parking should have been at least given at a lower cost.

- Gwat777 (10/5): 3 night Getaway - We are an American couple (from Los Angeles) in our 50s and our trip to Barcelona was for 3 nights. This is our 3rd country visited during our 24 day European Vacation. The first two countries we visited was with our 18 year old daughter for 11 nights, but she had to go back to school (she was on Spring Break). So this trip to Barcelona we got to enjoy with just the two of us (like a mini honeymoon). I am a Platinum Elite Member with Marriott Bonvoy. There’s a reason I stay at Marriott properties. The service is always 5 STAR. When we checked into the hotel the person at the front desk (his name is Julio) was AWESOME. He helped us with getting our tickets to Park Guell and La Sagrada Família. He arranged for our taxi the morning we had to fly out. My wife spent a lot of time with Julio asking him all her questions about what to visit, where to dine. He was so helpful. We got free breakfast each morning. The breakfast was incredible. The entire staff always greet you with a smile whenever you walk in and out of the property. THANK YOU MARRIOTT AND THANK YOU JULIO FOR MAKING OUR FIRST TRIP TO BARCELONA SPAIN SO MEMORABLE.
- sandra (7/5): Off to a bad start because of a poor receptionist but finally corrected - Location We were not given the room we booked (after check in person made a big deal and spent much time finding us a room) and had to return to reception once we went to the room (unacceptable room). Finally this was adjusted and we had a great room with the promised (booked) view Also original clerk booked taxi for us to cruise port through hotel for 20 euros. In the end we could not take it. Taxi outside of the hotel was 8 euros The rest of the stay and other staff were very good

- Kristine (7/5): - I liked the location, calm and safe area The image of the rooms that were shown when I was booking was different, they showed and image of the room which had really good view and was in higer floors, but in reality the room was in first floor and didn't have a nice view. When I booked I texted them a few times that we don't want first floor but they ignored this and gave us first floor. So when we asked for higer floor room they asked as to pay extra. And our floor had some kind of weird smell, even our room. Overall it would be right if they put real pictures of the room we are going to get.

- TanRej (8/5): Quick visit to Barcelona - We chose to stay for three nights a little out of the main centre in Barcelona but with public transport connections to the tourist areas. Tram and bus stops were just outside the hotel entrance, frequent and easy to use. Our room faced away from the Diagonal boulevard and was relatively quiet. The room was well appointed, modern, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great with lots of variety and good quality items. There is a good range of restaurants around the hotel. We would give this a 4.5 if we could.

The great hospitality started even before we arrived, they contacted me just to suggest better ways to accommodate the entire family and cover any needs before we arrived. The front desk staff made sure to take care of us and to get us our rooms early since we arrived very early morning. The restaurant staff and everyone was so friendly that we felt like family.

My husband and I received one of the most welcoming advance messages from the Four Points Sheraton Diagonal offering their assistance to make our stay perfect that I have received from a Marriott branded hotel since I became a Platinum Elite member many years ago. I had heard much about the personal service and attention offered at the Four Points Sheraton Barcelona Diagonal before our stay and it is obviously well earned. The staff was attentive and most helpful in arranging transportation, recommending excellent restaurants, as well as dropping off much appreciated treats to our room. Our king, corner room was well appointed and comfortable and the breakfast buffet was the best I had ever seen at a Four Points Sheraton. In terms of quality, quantity, and variety of food, it was at the level one usually sees at a Westin or Sheraton. We received outstanding service and quality at a reasonably priced hotel in a great location. We look forward to returning again.

- Polina (10/5): Very good hotel with a great location and attentive staff - The hotel is very well located: there are many shops and cafés nearby, as well as metro, bus and tram stops within walking distance. Sagrada Família is about a 25-minute walk away, which was very convenient for me. The room was comfortable and well equipped. It had a coffee machine, a kettle, a mini-fridge with an ice bucket, a safe, an ironing board and an iron. Every day, two bottles of drinking water were provided in the room. There were also plenty of hangers, which I really appreciated. The rooms are bright and spacious, and housekeeping was done very well. Breakfast was good, with a nice variety of options. The hotel also has a business center and a gym. The staff deserves a special mention: everyone was extremely friendly, welcoming and always ready to help with any request. I came to Barcelona to celebrate my birthday, and I was pleasantly surprised to find a piece of cake and a birthday card from the hotel waiting for me in my room. It was a very thoughtful and lovely gesture. The only downside for me was the lack of proper lighting for applying makeup. The bathroom lighting was a bit dim, and there was no separate mirror with lighting and magnification. However, this was really the only negative point.

Avenue Diagonal is a modern street, large and very close to a big shopping center and at walk distance from the beaches, la Sagrada Familia and many other places of interest. I used all the facilities of the hotel. The standard room is spacious and clean, quit, bed is very comfortable and pillow too. I had room service, and food was excellent too !! Very good selection of Spanish and international dishes and price is reasonable too. I had breakfast in the morning and it was one of the best buffet breakfast (and I travel a lot). Staff is friendly and very supportive. A special thank you to Achille who even helped me to get my car out of the hotel parking. Yesss!! they propose a parking at very competitive rate too !!
