- Jane (10/5): Kixby hotel NYC - Everything was excellent, staff super friendly and helpful.
Location great for all local attractions.
Room great size and amenities included, bed was so comfortable.
Overall perfect hotel for our stay.
- Ryan (8/5): Good location, tiny room - Great location in terms of subway and landmarks like Empire State Building and Rockefeller. Staff were friendly and helpful. Compared to the other hotels I stayed at this room is very small, and at the same price point means questionable value for money. The shower wasn't great either.
- campbv (10/5): Great place to stay - Great place to stay. Good location. Staff super helpful. Comfortable hotel with good facilities. Quiet at night!
- ACKR8 (10/5): Great stay - Wonderful 6 night stay. We upgraded to a king room. Plenty of space. Very friendly front desk, particularly Jay. Room was cleaned daily. The convenience room was good for water but didn’t have any snacks and the coffee machine was broken during our stay. Not a fan of the flavoured waters but good to be able to fill up a reusable bottle overnight. Would definitely return.

- candacen815 (10/5): Loved Kickin’ it at the Kixby. - The Kixby hotel was a great place to stay right in the heart of Midtown. We stayed four nights. Great staff, nice rooms and central to everything. The Black Tap bar is awesome and connected to the hotel. Great HH 3-6 and 10-close. Subway stop a half a block away. Two doors down, have a pastry and coffee Angelina Italian bakery: It’s the bomb.

- kyjana (10/5): 5 Star Night in the City - I reserved a King bed room at the Kixby for 3/21/2026 to spent the night after a concert at Madison Square Garden (about a 13 min walk away). 4pm check in was a breeze and the staff was very thorough. There was no wait or line. We were given complimentary water bottles and informed about free beverages and rooftop access (apparently with a view of the Empire State Building). There is a $250 incidental deposit, which they return at the end of the stay, minus your resort fees (about $35/night). Upon entering the room, it smelled fresh and the temperature was nice and cool. We were able to control the temperature to our liking. The space was more than adequate to share with my sister for the night. There were various amenities included as part of the resort fees that we didn’t not take advantage of. There is also an attached restaurant. Many restaurants, stores, and public transit within walking distance. I enjoyed my stay and would absolutely choose the Kixby again!
- EnglandNorfolk (10/5): Wonderful hotel - Would stay again. Very friendly. Excellent shower, comfy bed, lovely decor. Friendly staff especially Saul. We had a separate room for water, hot chocolate, fruit 24 hojrs ,anything else we needed. The shower, wow! We were provided robes to make us more comfortable, umbrellas in the room to take on our adventures. We had lovely fixtures and fittings. Great location, short walk to Macy's and Times Square.
We had a great continental breakfast provided, all staff were lovely just one lady on her phone in breakfast room at all times, wasn't sociable at all. Great stay loved it. Totally recommend...
- shelly2day (10/5): Birthday Celebration - Great location, very comfortable hotel, it was my granddaughters 16th birthday and the hotel was perfect. I like the smaller size and the location couldn’t have been better. Near all of the sights without being in the middle of Times Square.
- V248SVvictoriad (10/5): Brilliant stay - Loved The Kixby! Great location, lovely rooms. Helpful staff. The water bottles you receive on check in are great. Umbrellas in the room are a helpful addition! Tea and coffee maker in the room was brilliant and we all thought the amenities room was super useful. All in all a great hotel and we would 100% stay here again. A very yummy breakfast spot next door too.
- Karolina (8/5): - Location for shopping.
Coffee room.
Good showers. Price is high. For the same price you would have an amazing 5* in London.
Previous guest set an alarm for 6am and staff didn't reset it. It woke me up on my day off.
Room is rather small.
Bar was closed.
Noisy air con in the room. I had to switch it off completely for the night as it was unbearable.
- mowgli10 (10/5): Kixby amazing hotel. - Just returned home from an amazing stay at the Kixby. Great location and the roof top bar had amazing views of the ESB. We had a delux king room which was spacious, clean, very comfy bed with lovely crisp sheets and a powerful shower. We were facing the back so was mostly quiet ( you are in the centre of NY so should expect some noise). The coffee machine and snacks were a nice touch, there was also flavoured water.
The staff were incredible and so friendly, especially Grace on reception who we chatted to everyday about the Broadway shows we were seeing, the doorman and housekeeper were also lovely.
Sad to be home and can't wait to return. Would totally recommend this hotel.
- Alan (9/5): - Great location, Great staff, black tap great bar & food Nothing
- 534anoukr (10/5): Overnight stay at the Kixby - Stayed in the city for a evening out after an event at MSG. Walking distance from MSG which is primarily why I chose it. Its very safe, clean, easy to check in and the beds were very comfortable. The bathroom is modern and very clean. The water pressure is strong which is important to me. The decor is very nice when you walk in too. There is a bar/restaurant next door for ease of grabbing food if you'd like. If you are staying for a long period of time, ask for a room away from the street. The NY noise is not for everyone, but no complaints here. Hotel is great and I would stay here again.
- Ryan (7/5): -
- Isabel (9/5): - staff jetted bathtub did not work
- clairesmyth38 (8/5): Perfect location - Arrived quite late so be ru quick check in - nothing really explained but there was info in the room. From then on reception staff were very friendly. The bed was really comfy but the shower had low water pressure and was very cold. The room is comfy but furniture placed strangely - difficult to see self in mirror as wardrobe door didn’t open wide enough. Water and coffee station on second floor a great benefit and hotel is in fab location.
- gavinsI6868GH (10/5): Kixby Hotel - The place was clean, spacious and wonderful. The staff are super nice and they offer coffee and cookies at night.
- Bradley (8/5): Excellent choice in the neighborhood - Great room, nice size. Chic surrouindings. 1. The communal amenities in the shower
2. The gym needs drastic renovation.
- GalantNatalia (4/5): Additional charges upon check out - The hotel was nice, but all the good impression was ruined by the charge of the additional amounts upon check out.
There was no information regarding this charges when I made a reservation and full prepayment.
Be ready to pay additional 30$ per day as a facility fee.
- Tourist318400 (10/5): A great stay and location - Kixby was a super stay from the service to cleanliness to room. Loved the location. Jay at the front desk was awesome and we were surprised with Champagne to celebrate our special weekend. Thank you Kixby we will be back!
- Alexandra (10/5): -
- Chris (7/5): - The bed was terrible.
- ZaviBeth (10/5): Wow! What a fab hotel! - I am a New Yorker but have lived in Scotland, UK for many years now, visiting NYC regularly to see family and friends. My daughter and I recently stayed in the Kixby Hotel for 7 nights and loved it. The room was stunning and spacious (a rare treat in Manhattan!) We had 2 queen size beds and plenty of floor space. The fridge and coffee maker were a wonderful bonus. We were given a lovely water bottle upon check in and on the second floor, there was a small room to fill bottles with plain, sparkling or flavoured water. There was a bean to cup coffee machine (including decaf!) and boiling water and tea bags also available. Between 3:00 and 6:00 PM each day they also had cookies and fresh fruit. The staff were all delightful - very personable, friendly and most helpful! Grace, at reception, was delightful were everyone we met! The room was cleaned daily - sparkling and always lots of fresh fluffy towels and lovely toiletries (including a tube of hand cream). The location is between 5th and 6th Ave and 35th St - less than a block from Macy’s and the Empire State Building. The subway is at the corner and has trains going up to west side (B and D) and also up the east side (Q and N) - making it a most practical subway station for getting anywhere from Inwood to Brooklyn and the upper west side, upper east side, east and west village, Soho, Chinatown, union Sq, Chelsea and more. I highly recommend the Kixby and we will be back! Here’s som photos of the neighbourhood and the lovely Jose, standing in the hotel lobby, who was always available to assist us!
- ClareBatch (10/5): 50th birthday trip to NYC - I am a travel agent and have booked many clients to this hotel so decided to stay here for my own holiday. This is a fabulous hotel in an amazing location. Yes it’s noisy but it’s NYC! Bring ear plugs. The bed was super comfy and the bathroom had a great shower. If you are light sensitive, bring an eye mask as the blinds did not keep the light out at night time. We were here for 7 nights and there weren’t enough clothes hangers but they soon brought more to our room. The staff are very friendly and always said good morning and welcomed us back on our return.
No need to bring hairdryers or umbrellas as theses are provided along with a water bottle, when you check in
I would definitely recommend this hotel!!
- D9971CKpauls (10/5): Excellent - Excellent hotel, rooms very clean and looked great. Location very good! Staff were exceptional, very helpful and knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend and return.
- Blaise (9/5): Great hotel in a great location. - Very nice hotel. Hotel was clean and looked luxurious. No complaints.
- Yolanda (8/5): -
- Tata81Chester (6/5): Would definitely stay again! - Great hotel, great location! There for NYE, nothing going on at the hotel or on its roof terrace, feels like a missed opportunity.
Our first room was SOOOOO noisy! However, we called reception and they’d sorted out a quieter room immediately, we were so impressed!
- zelig148 (10/5): We LOVED The Kixby! A wonderful stay and GREAT memories - We stayed at The Kixby for my 60th birthday after much research on hotels in New York, and chose The Kixby as the reviews were very positive - and it turned out to be a truly fantastic choice! It is steps away from Macy’s, the Empire State Building, and the subway, and is super central for exploring New York.
We stayed in a penthouse room after being very kindly upgraded by the hotel - it was absolutely amazing with a fantastic view of the Empire State Building from the window. The room was huge and spotlessly clean , having a beautiful bathroom with a double shower and enormous whirlpool bath, and well stocked with good quality tea and coffees and a handy fridge.
The hotels lobby, public bathrooms and lifts are spotlessly clean and well maintained - no tired or scruffy areas, and the amenities room on floor 2 is great - unlimited coffee, teas and water available 24 hours daily, with fresh fruit and pastries available in the afternoons.
I cannot praise The Kixby staff enough - the reception team and cleaning staff are AMAZING! Super friendly and helpful, and they went out of their way to make this special trip truly memorable, even placing a high quality bottle of Prosecco and a lovely 60th birthday card in our room before our arrival.
Do yourself a favour and choose this hotel - we have visited New York many times and this is by far the nicest hotel we have stayed in and we will be back again soon, for our next stay in The Kixby.
- Cathleen (10/5): It was a beautiful hotel and very comfortable. -
- rachelnE2733OQ (10/5): 10 year wedding anniv trip - Stayed at the Kixby between 10-14 Dec 2025 for our 10yr wedding anniversary and it was stunning. Rooms were spacious for NYC. The bed was so comfy and the bathroom is ample. The 24/7 refreshments room is really handy but your room is well stocked with tea and coffee also. Your rooms are kept really clean as is the rest of the hotel. Location is brilliant as we didn’t want time square. You’ll always know where you hotel is just by finding the ESB or Macy’s. Saul is so lovely and helpful as are the rest of the reception crew. We took them a goody bag of Uk treats and they were so happy. Roof top is stunning even in the winter, the view is out of this world. I would only stay here again and only recommend this hotel to others. Can’t wait to return.
- Randie (9/5): Great stay at Kixby! - Great location, friendly staff and spacious room!
- zoegarner1 (6/5): Disappointed - Really disappointed with the hotel, my partner and I were expecting more . At check in the staff member mumbled his way through the details, making it difficult to understand that he was saying. Had no idea of the facilities on the 2nd floor until i read the reviews on here. Room is extremely small, and feels very claustrophobic we are travelling on from here and have 2 big suitcases so there is barely room to move.
- D588XYevana (10/5): Unbelievable - We had a great experience at the Kixby I couldn’t recommend it enough to anyone wanting to go to New York. I proposed to my girlfriend while there and I want to give a special mention to jay who works behind the front desk who really who went above and beyond to help me and make our stay special. From decorating our room and to sorting us a better room on the day it was amazing! The hotel is in such a good location being right next to the empire state and central to everything. Jose was also really helpful and couldn’t do more as I’m sure all the staff would be like but for us these 2 stood out.
- E2712LGclarer (10/5): Fantastic location - We recently had a four night stay in a Queen Queen room at the Kixby.
When we arrived, several hours before check-in, we received a warm greeting at reception, and to our delight the room was already ready so we were able to go straight up. The lift was a little confusing at first because we hadn’t realised that you needed to scan your room key to make it work. Our room was on the 6th floor, and at first we were a little disappointed that the windows faced inwards, however this meant it was nice and quiet at night and we had very little noise from outside.
Our room was lovely, very clean, good quality toiletries and everything you could need for a short stay. There were two very minor maintenance issues, which were resolved immediately (a wonky drawer and a new TV aerial connector needed). The maintenance guy was great, as were all of the staff we met. We could not have been made to feel more welcome!
Access to the amenities room was very welcome, cold water (including sparkling & flavoured) on tap as well as a coffee machine, hot water, teabags etc available 24/7. Afternoon there were cookies and also a fruit bowl.
The other bonus at the hotel is the rooftop bar. On the 12th floor with an amazing view of the Empire State Building and Macy’s if you stuck your neck out a bit! Although the bar was closed, we took up a coffee a couple of nights and enjoyed the view while wrapped up against the cold.
The location of the hotel is amazing. In between 5th and 6th avenues with Macy’s & Herald Square at one end as well as an entrance to the subway (34th St station). We were able to walk to many popular attractions and get the subway to those further away. The neighbourhood felt safe as long as you exercise the same care you would in any major city.
When we departed, the hotel were happy to keep our luggage securely until it was time to leave for the airport, and the concierge arranged a taxi for us.
We had an amazing time at the Kixby and would definitely stay there again.
- A2171WQjimm (10/5): NY visit.. location perfect - First of all, the hotel helped out when the suitcases didn't travel with us, with toiletries, toothbrush etc... very accommodating and welcoming...
The room was great, a king room, serviced daily. Staff couldn't have been more helpful.
Acces to Gym and tea/coffee and bottled water room 24 hrs a day..
The location was perfect located on W 35 St.. 200 yards from Macys and 1 street up from Empire State Building..
The Bar on top (closed but accessible with drinks), of the building has a perfect viewvofbthe Empire State...awesome view.
Great Burger and Bar, Black Top attached to hotel.. Great food and service..
Overall great base to explore NY.
- 793traceyj (10/5): excellent stay - Stayed here from the 2nd Dec for 5 nights. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The free hot and cold drinks station on the 2nd floor is excellent for stopping off when going out to grab a drink on the go. The water bottles they give you on arrival are also for you to keep. The rooms are very clean and the bedding changed every 2 days ,tea /coffee maker in the room, coffee and tea bags replaced daily. Rooftop bar a must with a great view of the Empire State Building. Location great for Times Square, The Edge located close by and Hudson Yards close by. Stayed here in 2011 when it was the Hotel Metro loved it then and love still. Would I return ? Yes I would
- broadstep (10/5): 40th Anniversary Trip - We actually stayed at this hotel 9 years ago when it was The Hotel Metro. We wanted to stay here again because its position is ideal. Everything within walking distance and the subway metres away.
We asked for a room toward the back of the hotel because other reviewers had said the front was noisy. We also told them it was our 40th wedding anniversary celebration and when we arrived it was to an upgraded room, at the back and shortly after we got to the room a bottle of fizz and some chocolates were delivered.
The room on the 2nd floor where coffee and water were available 24 hours free and between 3pm & 5 pm there was fruit and biscuits there too.
We didn’t eat breakfast at the hotel but the first morning went to the bakery next door. After that we went to the Capitol One Bank and Cafe for breakfast. Very reasonably priced and a good selection.
The BlackTap bar, attached to the hotel was a great place to eat and Rodney, behind the bar was lovely.
The hotel is within walking distance of Central Park. Our pedicab ride was disappointing and expensive. It’s also within walking distance of the East River where you can get the ferry to Brooklyn.
- ohtobe15again (10/5): Vacation - Excellent hotel.. it's that good I've stayed there 6 times and going again..all the staff are so friendly and very helpful on all matters.
- Alexsandro (10/5): -
- danicas297 (10/5): Delightful! - Kixby is super well-situated. My partner and I usually take the train from DC when we visit NY, and the hotel is well-within walking distance, even with luggage. This was our third stay, and there was some minor confusion with our reservation. The manager, Jay, was gracious and upgraded us for the trouble. He also sent up a thoughtful box of chocolates when he found out it was my birthday.
- tonifitzgerald23 (10/5): Great hotel 10/10 - Lovely clean hotel.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
Perfection location, easy to walk to all the main attractions.
Great value for money.
Very comfortable beds.
- XLPE (10/5): Great Hotel, Great Location - Great hotel and location. Rooms spacious and cleaned daily, hotel bar and restaurant offered good food and drinks at reasonable pricing. Gym was well equipped and free water and teas, coffee on the 2nd floor exceptional for 24/7 refreshments.
Jose was amazing, helped us get transport to the airport.
- paulbuck1973 (10/5): Superb! - We’re nearing the end of our stay here now. If I could have given more than five stars I would have done. It’s truly excellent.
Ideally situated. Just a short walk from Penn, so it’s easy and cheap to get to from JFK. There’s also a Subway station literally twenty paces from the front door. It’s right between 5th and 6th - two major streets. And we wake up in the morning and look out at the Empire State Building. Incredible.
The hotel itself is uber cool. The rooms are fab. Clean, modern and bright.
I would have had one piece of constructive feedback and that would be about lack of power points. That’s until I discovered that all the lights in the room have power points in their bases. What a great idea meaning there are actually loads of places to plug in!
The staff are so amazingly friendly, welcoming and helpful.
A few people have mentioned the noise. It’s New York!! It’s the city that never sleeps and yes…. It’s noisy! You just have to accept it and you soon get used to it.
I would return here in a heartbeat. Thank you, Kixby.
- Bev1256 (10/5): Room 1111 - We arrived he Tuesday before thanksgiving and wasn't sure what to expect. I had emailed the hotel earlier and requested a high floor if possible. I did think I'd be very lucky with it being such a busy time. We went to check in and found the lady behind reception lovely and helpful. We got given floor 11 out of 12 floors. I was so happy. We had booked a luxury king-size. When we got in the room it was a UK super king bed. The rooms are compact but perfect for what we needed. Everything was thought of. What a view of the empire state from the roof top.
The location of the hotel was perfect for our needs. We were a couple of minutes away from macys. There is a bar called the black tab thats attached to the hotel. They do great food.
All the staff were brilliant. They were friendly and extremely helpful.
The rooms were cleaned daily and towels replaced as you needed. We would definitely stay there again.
- Joseph (10/5): Great stay - Great big room and comfortable bed. Nothing
- Scenic02346955363 (10/5): Birthday vacation in NYC - We had a lovely stay at the Kixby Hotel for my partners milestone birthday! Location is great, 5 mins walk from the Empire State Building. Staff are lovely and lots of amenities in the hotel. They even gave us a complimentary bottle of bubbly to celebrate! Highly recommend.
- bkrzero (10/5): A great wedding anniversary stay. - A truly outstanding hotel in the heart of Manhattan. We celebrated our wedding anniversary here and couldn’t have asked for a better stay. The staff were both helpful and knowledgeable, the room was comfortable, and we loved the exclusive guest lounge offering complimentary coffee, refreshments, and ice water around the clock—it was such a thoughtful touch. The rooms themselves are elegant, with period charm.
- rachaelbW2558YC (8/5): GOOD LOCATION - Just returned from the Kixby following a 5 night stay with my husband. This is a great location with everything on your doorstep. The water bottles were a great idea and we appreciated the tea and coffee room. The room was clean but unbelievably small, nowhere to sit apart from on the bed, and no mirror in the bedroom only in the bathroom. I had asked for a quiet room as I appreciate that city’s are noisy however it was so noisy sirens and horns going all night, neither my husband or myself got any sleep for the first 3 nights, on the 4th night my husband asked for some earplugs and we did sleep a little better. I think the hotel needs new windows to help this situation. Based on this if we were in New York again I don’t think we would stay at the Kixby as it did put a damper on our stay as we were so tired.
- jasonrD9609DS (10/5): Saul is the man. Kixby is great. - Saul was super helpful with friendly advice and service. He made the experience better than expected. The hotel was clean, and a great location close to Korea Town.
- dianad915 (10/5): Great stay - I took a four day weekend trip to New York City and stayed at the Kixby hotel in October towards the end and my day was very nice. The breakfast buffet is about $20 and I think it could be improved but it’s New York City for you. My room was very comfortable. I didn’t take a picture. It was towards the end of the hall. But I had a nice view of Macy’s and on the seventh floor. Seems like a lot of people travel from the UK to stay there and probably other countries in Europe. Stuff was extremely friendly and helpful.
- nosuninleeds (10/5): Great little hotel - We had such a great time at this hotel!
The location is perfect — close to the subway everything you could possibly want to see or do. The staff were friendly and helpful, really made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived.
Our room was clean, comfortable, and just what we needed after a day of exploring. I’ve seen some reviews mentioning noise, but honestly — it’s New York! I’ve never stayed anywhere quiet in this city.
There’s also a rooftop bar with incredible views of the Empire State Building. It wasn’t open during our stay, but we still went up in the mornings with a coffee and pastry — such a peaceful start to the day while the city was just waking up.
Would absolutely stay here again as it’s a great base
- deirdreh394 (6/5): Very good - The location is fantastic and loved the decor. Staff are really friendly and helpful. The noise however in room was terrible, they gave us earplugs that helped. A lot of construction going on around but it was mostly traffic and bin lorries. It was like we had single glazed windows. Would go for back room again. Stayed for 4 nights cleaning of room good but we had thick dust over bed and bedside lamps and lockers. The tap restaurant next door is great value and quality. The breakfast offered is only continental. Would stay again but not in front rooms.
- MillerK85 (10/5): Great hotel, location and staff. - Just returned from a 5 night stay at the Kixby. Can’t fault it at all and have nothing but positive things to say. From check in to check out, all staff were kind and welcoming. Hotel is ideal location for exploring and some nice bars and restaurants near by. The room itself, we stayed in 514. Was so spacious, clean and the bed was the comfiest bed away from home i have slept in. We were celebrating my 40th while there and upon check in a lovely bottle and note was left in the room. I love NYC and previously stayed in the Edison which was good but Kixby was better for us and we would return.
- BarnFred (10/5): A great hotel! - Great central location with amazing views of ESB from the rooftop bar. The bar was closed for the season but guests can still access it, so take a drink up from the bar downstairs, and enjoy the view. Rooms roomy and clean and nice easy to use, effective heating/aircon. We had a room at the back which was njce and quiet. You could hear the odd siren but nkthing too baf. You get a complementary water bottle on arrival and a nice space on 2nd floor where you can get flavoured water/tea/coffee/fruit (depending on how many people used the water boiler before you, depends on how hot the water is if you want a cup of tea...best time for a good hot cuppa was the evening). Staff were great and really helpfull. We didnt eat in the restaurant but the food looked great and reasonably priced. We really e joyed our 3 nights and would definitely recommend the Kixby.
- rayrids (10/5): Fantastic stay - We visited New York for the first time at the beginning of October for our wedding Anniversay and chose the Kixby because of its central location, being situated in the next street away from the Empire State Building and only 7 streets away from Times Square. Macy’s was also at the end of the road.
On arrival, we were warmly greeted by a female receptionist (sadly I do not remember your name, who gave us a lot of useful information - including a list of restaurants in the area - as well as some refillable drinks containers. The vouchers for complimentary Prosecco on the first night were also very welcome.
Our room was on the 6th floor, overlooking the street. We were pleasantly surprised by the size of the king lux room, as I had read that city centre hotel rooms were small. The room was comfortable and had all of the amenities you would expect.
The coffee and water room were located on the 2nd floor and proved to be very useful for (refillable) water and tea/coffee.
We particularly enjoyed sitting on the rooftop (unfortunately the bar was closed for the season) and admiring the views.
In terms of noise - yes there is the usual morning chorus of garbage trucks at around 5 a.m. as well as the occasional emergency vehicles (the fire trucks have to be heard to be believed!) - but then we were in the heart of the city that never sleeps.
During the 7 days that we stayed at the Kixby, all of the staff were extremely courteous and were very willing to help.
On our last day, Rafael booked us a taxi to JFK and Jose took our bags for us - thank you both.
New York is a manic, exciting place to visit and, should we return, we would have no hesitation in staying at the Kixby again.
- CityNeil69 (10/5): Perfect Central Hotel - Fabulous hotel in the perfect location.
We spent 7 nights here in October 25. The hotel is great, rooms aren’t large but fairly big by New York standards.
Huge king size bed was very comfy.
Shower hot, and room was clean.
The aircon is noisy so we turned it off over night.
Noise levels from outside were fine, considering you’re in the busy area.
Rooftop bar was closed when we were here but we could take food and drink up and sit looking at the view. You’re right next door to the Empire State Building.
Location is perfect. Subway 2 mins away, Times Square 5 mins walk, Macy’s at the end of the street.
Overall would highly recommend.
Will be staying again on our next visit to NYC
- yawnaroo (8/5): Overall an okay stay - We used this hotel as a base whilst we visited NYCC 2025 and also for our first holiday in New York, and our first holiday in America!
Location:
The location of this hotel is great!! Right in the centre of everything but not in the middle of the chaos. The hotel is located near Koreatown and there are some really nice restaurants nearby within walking distance. Times Square is a short walk away, as well as Broadway. Entering the hotel you are greeted to a small lobby area, to the right you have the adjacent burger restaurant, and further down you have the hotel’s bar area. Rooms are accessed through the elevators.
Facilities:
In your room you have a coffee machine, ironing board, iron, hairdryer and a mini fridge! That’s all I’ve ever wanted in a hotel room. There is a penthouse bar which was unfortunately not in season at the time we visited: we did not use it.
Room:
The room was an okay size, a little small but not cramped. Beds are very comfortable and pillows soft and plumpy. This hotel had an amazing policy where they will change your bedsheets every 2nd day so you will always have a fresh night! Room was cleaned every day however I noticed that there would be areas where I would see the same dust or the same fluff obviously untouched, such as near the beds. The TV is large, works fine and it was easy to attach HDMI cables to watch Fire TV. There are numerous sockets in the room but they are found attached to the lamp bases. We found the room to be dark most of the time, but there were several lamps to brighten up the room, most with a soft glow. We found the dimming lights very interesting to use!
What was actually the most interesting part of our room was the location. We got a room facing inwards- that’s the best way I could describe it- and with it came absolutely little road noise as possible. We think that if we were at the front facing the road we would’ve been kept awake with noise, but our location was absolutely fine! We did ask for a high-floor room before coming here and we did get it, so we were very happy with our room and its location.
Service:
Service was okay here. There weren’t any moments that stood out to me especially but we didn’t have very many staff interactions. There were staff members that were kinder and more willing to help us than others. However, we did find that whenever we left the hotel and returned we’d be greeted at the front desk, which is what I believe is a mark of good service.
Bathroom:
Our bathroom was a great size! It was also well-lit, the shower had good pressure and it was cleaned well every day.
Wi-Fi:
When we got here the internet was down for an entire night. This was fixed by the next morning, however, we found that throughout our stay the internet kept dropping out. This was not a major annoyance, but it would be nice if they looked into this further.
Overall, we had a good stay at this hotel. I would recommend it for those who are wishing to explore New York or want to use it for business reasons.
- nickieg2021 (10/5): Great customer service - We absolutely loved staying at Kixby hotel. It was in a perfect location, very clean and comfortable with great little touches. The staff were always friendly and very helpful especially when we had issues with the safe. Nothing was too much trouble. We stayed in Caesars Palace before Kixby and they could learn an awful lot about good customer service from the Kixby. We would recommend this hotel to our friends and would definitely stay again. Thank you for having us!
- Richard (6/5): - The hotel was nice, rooms were large and stylish and the bed was very comfortable. Everything was very clean and the water/coffee room was a nice touch. Great location for 5th Av, Broadway etc Unfortunately we suffered with noise from the street, the windows are not well insulated and traffic/building work was noticeable from 5am every morning so ear plugs were a must. The AC was powerful but also v noisy
- Kerry (10/5): - Good stay
- john (10/5): Grace the reception was vg - Location None
- Sarah (10/5): - The hotel is charming and beautiful! The staff were attentive and friendly. We would definitely stay here again!
- Kaitlin (10/5): - The room was large and clean. Staff was polite and attentive. Prosecco at check in was a lovely touch.
- Charles (10/5): - Quick check-in, with a complimentary glass of prosecco in the bar! The room was a nice size, spotless, and maintained daily with fresh towels, etc. While Midtown is not my favorite area stay, I would definitely recommend this option!
- Pauline (10/5): - The hotel was an ideal base for a holiday in New York. Great location, good transport links and staff were pleasant and professional. The convenience room, providing fresh cold drinking water and coffee was a great addition.
- MVFILM (9/5): A terrific midtown (K-town) luxury property with wonderful restaurants and sites nearby - I've stayed at the Kixby before, and one of the reasons is its location -- an easy walk to Amtrak and subway lines. Perfect for midtown business or touring. The rooms are spacious by NYC norms, and very classy decor, including enough lighting for working at desk. The rooftop bar (when open in summer) is stunning. The amenities of free espresso and water drinks in the pantry is an added bonus. Located in the heart of K-town.
The bathroom shower was excellent with its rain shower fixture. Very nice added touch. I'm a fitness person, and like to work out when traveling, the fitness room is small, and OK, but lacks some basic weight lifting machines that could make it more useful. There are only 5-50 lbs barbells and one bench to use, with three bikes/ treadmill. Luckily I was the only person in the room at the time of my workout. It could use some multiple functional weight machines for chest, shoulders and arms.
The other suggestion is maybe a small mini refrigerator in the room for storing some drinks and snacks (and left over dinners). There was plenty of room in the clothing closet to hide it there.
- A9726JEjuliet (10/5): Absolutely first class!! - A superb hotel all round. The best of the 9 hotels we have stayed in whilst travelling around the East coast of USA.
Attention to detail, support, cleanliness and little touches amazing!!
The location was superb. You can sit on roof terrace and see Empire State Building a couple of blocks away!
I will be recommending this hotel to everyone coming to NYC.
Thank you to all the wonderful staff who assisted us in navigating local attractions and the subway.
- 115rachele (8/5): Beautiful hotel but very noisy location - The hotel is beautiful, and very clean and well-maintained. Staff were extremely friendly and happy to help, and contrary to many other NY hotels, the rooms were a really good size and beds were large and super comfy. We appreciated the free water bottles and used the refreshment room regularly. It has a lovely rooftop bar which overlooks the Empire State Building.
It was great for a first trip to NY.
The location is excellent for exploring Manhatten, and very close to a subway station but it is extremely noisy with car horns, fire engines and people shouting all night. Windows are single glazed which makes things worse. The hotel was also carrying out loud repairs to the elevator at 11pm at night so it's not the place for a restful night's sleep after exploring the city.
We luckily only bought breakfast for one day which we were glad about as the selection was very poor, heavily processed and served on paper plates with plastic cutlery.
We did enjoy our stay and can't fault the staff or cleanliness but they really should provide earplugs!
- Jessica (8/5): - I thought the property was fantastic! It was cleanest hotel I have ever been to.
Beautiful modern rooms with with nice furnature, bedding, towels and soaps.
On site restaurant and a cozy bar. Food of all types within walking distance.
The subway was just down the block making it really convenient to use.
The only thing I would suggest to the hotel is to add window curtains to block out the light from the hotel sign and to help drown out the busy streets at night. The blinds are nice but didn't do enough with the lighted sign outside. I would happily recommend this hotel to others and would stay there again.
- Stephanie (6/5): - El hotel estaba muy limpio y todo pero no me gustó que no pudimos descansar las puertas suenan demasiado y se siente como si estuvieran tocandolas y habriendola.
- Gabrielle (10/5): - We enjoyed our stay. The room was clean and modern. However, the owners might want to upgrade the levalor blinds to higher-quality ones, preferably with blackout options like those found in most hotels. Additionally, you are not insulated from the crashing noises of other guests and service staff crashing around outside your room. The elevators felt a bit slow, and we weren't particularly impressed with the hotel food. Luckily, there are many tasty options nearby.
- Lesleywine (6/5): Disappointing - Found this hotel disappointing after reading such positive reviews. The rooms are very noisy with very little sound proofing - we experienced a constant droning from numerous outside air-con units, 24 hours a day - making sleep hard. When we raised it with staff, we were given packets of earplugs ! The hotel is clearly aware of this...
The hotel advertises a rooftop bar with views of the Empire State ... yes, you could see the ES, but the bar was never open, and looked very neglected ...
There is a integrated restaurant next door under joint management - The Black Tap. We used it once, but found staff to be rude, and they didn't really know what was available or the true price of things - very unpleasant experience, and one to avoid.
- Shehzad (8/5): - Location is central, staff is friendly, and the hotel is modern and clean. The beds were too soft and kept sinking. The room had no blackout curtains, could hear the street noise all night long. They charge a resort fee offering snacks/coffee, but during limited hours only.
- Matt (10/5): Great hotel, great location - Easy to access theater district and everywhere I needed to be on this trip!
- Darin (10/5): - Room was impeccably clean, staff top notch, and the amenities top shelf. We loved the 3 headed shower which was awesome after a day of exploring the city. Highly recommended!
- L5714TAcarolg (4/5): Not impressed - Very disappointed in this hotel. Spent 4 nights there and it really wasn’t the best experience. We were not really made to feel welcome.. check in was all a bit rushed and frantic. The entire hotel is painted in dark colours with very dim lighting throughout (god help anyone with failing eyesight) Our room was the tiniest room we’ve ever stayed in.. not fit for one person let alone two. The bed was so close to the wall I ended up with bruises on my leg by constantly knocking myself on the corner of the bed. The bathroom you could barely move in and there was no vent, the window wouldn’t open, there was nowhere to hang anything, and there was a very dubious drain smell present while we were there (we did get this checked out but they couldn’t find anything wrong!). We decided not to challenge the issues with the room as no doubt we would have been charged extra to move.
We paid $19.50 dollars (plus tax) for a breakfast which consisted of tasteless coffee, dried up bagels, and very little else to choose from.. all this in a darkened room (although I’m guessing the dark room was possibly a ploy to distract from the poor quality food on offer)
On check out we were met with a very surly receptionist who made no attempt to ask us how our stay was or to wish us a safe onward journey. Only positive thing I can say about this hotel is the location.
- Tori Matchey (10/5): - clean room, great staff
- Jeremy (10/5): - Well located, close to all the amenities.
- Marlaz1985 (10/5): Fantastic stay - We stayed at the Kixby for 5 sweltering nights in July. We loved our stay, the staff were super friendly and helpful and the room and bed were very comfortable. Thankfully the air con worked perfectly too! The water bottles you get on check in are a nice touch as are the flavoured water stations and free coffee on the second floor. The hotel is ideally located to take advantage of seeing Manhattan and beyond
- Melissa (10/5): - The incredibly welcoming and professional staff made our stay a pleasure.
- Richard (10/5): - Spent two nights at this Koreatown location, convenient to MSG, Moynihan station, Bryant Park & Times Square. Surprised by the little comforts-pantry with afternoon specialty coffees, flavored water, & morning brew. Lux king offered everything we needed, plus courtesy umbrella & robes. Room was quiet, in room fridge & safe appreciated. Do walk around the corner to Pio Bagels!
- Nathaniel (10/5): - The room clean, modern, and surprisingly roomier than advertised. We loved the shower heads.
- AnnabelL63 (10/5): Great location, good size room for NYC and friendly staff! - Great stay at Midtown Kixby. Great location in 35th.Esay to walk downtown or Uptown! Not too big and not too small! Views from roof terrace of the Empire State building
Rooms a reasonable size for NYC, nice decor, simple but cool and comfy beds.
2nd floor has a room for iced water, tea etc which is handy and they give you a reuseable stylish water bottle to use !
We stayed on the 12th floor at the front of the building, we moved from a room initally shown at the back, that room was nice just preferred being at the front and a room was available. Reception were very accommodating but the star of the Kixby in my opinion is Jose the concierge, he has a rare ability to genuinely seem to love his job and to offer good advice about the city! great character, Managemnt take note you should hang on to him!
The burger place serves good quality burgers, only downside is the lack of atmosphere in the on site bar and shame the roof terrace bar was shut in early September given temperature still 25 degress you can still go up there to see views but not really the same. TBH that doesn't really matter as you are out and about anyway but option of late night drink would have been nice.
Would definately stay again when revisiting NYC!
- maria (10/5): - Love this area.
- Donna (8/5): - Nice and clean boutique hotel with updated rooms and decor.
- Janice (10/5): - Hotel was located near all the highlights we wanted to see in NYC. Very clean and comfortable, with a great restaurant on site. Staff were helpful and very pleasant. Will stay again when I go back to NYC.
- Amy (10/5): - Loved our room- very spacious.
Rooftop wonderful but bar closed for season :(
Staff was wonderful
- lukecZ558XH (10/5): Kixby is a must! - First time in New york and we picked the Kixby hotel... I can't fault it... amazing location, friendly staff, the hotel and our room was spotless & clean.
Very nice decor also... the rooms are modern but feel classic still, they've got it spot on 👌🏽. Bed is comfortable & a nice big TV.
Now and then you can hear outside but... your in a city.. what do you expect 😅... already planning our next stay at the Kixby 🙌🏽
- hayley_golden (10/5): Lovely stay - Husband and I stayed here for 5 nights (travelling from the UK). First time in New York and very pleased with our choice of hotel and location. Checked in late due to flight time, not a great welcome - not told any information about the hotel compared to others we overhead checking in during day time. Room on 6th floor at the end of corridor (which was very small so no long walk back to room with tired feet!). Nice and quiet (we were kind of to the side/rear of hotel) with a slight view of Empire State Building from the room. Room adequate size (for NY!) with comfortable bed, and all of the amenities' you would need such as coffee maker (with a tea pod), umbrella, fridge, and robes. Lovely rooftop bar (which had sadly already closed for season) which hotel guests can access at all times - great view of the Empire State from here, but (perhaps due to the limited info we were given on check in?) we struggled to find out how to get up to this level!! (later found out there is a separate lift that you call 'PH' to access). Room very comfortable - aircon good, and room cooled very quickly. Shower not bad (but poor ventilation in bathroom), toiletries in bathroom plentiful and very good and towels and linen all very clean. We couldn't find much information about the bottles the hotel kindly gifts you on arrival so took our own 'just incase' - glad we did. For anyone also looking for the same information we were - they are not insulated bottles. We were glad we took our own large insulated bottles which we then used in the pantry (2nd floor accessible with guest room card) to fill with flavoured water and ice each morning which was fabulous to take out with us. The pantry also have hot drinks (and also cookies during certain hours, think was 3-5pm). Hotel great location - around 10min walk to Times Square, 1 min walk to Subway, and a couple of nice bars next to the hotel. There is also a very good burger place (Black Tap) attached to the hotel which we ate at twice. Only minor suggestion would be to change the safe access in the rooms - they are digital and only ask you to enter your code once before it locks, and with it being digital if you have sausage fingers and mis-press the code you think you are choosing, you don't realise until you come to unlock it and it does not work! We had to call maintenance to come and unlock twice for us! (sorry!) it may be better if the safe asks you to enter you chosen code, and then again a second time to verify the code you are choosing. All staff very pleasant, and hotel was happy for us to store our luggage on day of check out as we had a late flight (limited chairs in reception though when waiting to leave as everyone had same idea to sit and wait!). We would recommend this hotel and would return to this hotel if we were back in New York, but sadly the city was just not for us - so we wont be returning.
- Ishable (6/5): good location… - Ok hotel, good location. Arrived late due to Amtrak running late so they weren’t impressed and got a grumpy check-in. Went to room, very nice and clean room, 2nd floor but awful view. Bathroom was small, good lighting, nice coffee machine but no tea making facility. However the hotel provides all guest with a water and coffee/tea station on level 2 which we thought was a good idea until we realised they charged us $34 a night!! So hence the 3 stars. Also, poor night sleep on 1st night due to bar below. Air con noisy too but was low level so we unplugged it. There is a nice roof terrace with a lovely bar but unfortunately it’s not manned but can chill and see the Empire State Building lit up.
We had a much friendlier check out and when asked about the stay, we explained the noise and she said that happens on a weekend and next time let them know and they would give us a different room!!!! Dont think so….
- Ammar (2/5): Not clean - Wasn’t clean. Found a bunch of hair in the shower. Bathroom also had a bad smell overall. Really unfortunately for what you’re paying
- Stefan (8/5): - Good location, nice rooftop, spacious room and nice convinence room with water, coffee and so on.
- Jenny (10/5): Great place for my nyc visit - Comfortable bed, pillows. Great location. Nice roof top
- Daryl (10/5): Perfect Midtown stay - Great hotel within walking distance of restaurants and theater district. Nice size rooms with comfortable beds and updated bathroom. Highly recommended!
- Kenneth (10/5): - Clean facility and great staff
