Jason (10/5): - This was a fantastic place to stay! I was traveling with 4 friends, so we booked the room with 6-beds, and it was great! We had a private bathroom, but there were also 2 full bathrooms on the bottom floor next to the change rooms (for those hanging by the pool), so we were all able to shower and do our business without having to wait for the en suite bathroom 👌👌 There are tons of restaurants in the area, and an Oxxo nearby if you want to grab some drinks & snacks. There is also an awesome theatre where you can hang out during a rainy day! (Remember to log out and clear the laptop’s browser settings/cookies when you’re done) Don’t forget to check the complimentary snacks table in the lobby 🤗🤗 I will definitely be returning with friends again!!

Joanna (6/5): This is a hostel, not a hotel! - This place is a hostel located behind a car park. The finish is really rough, the bathrooms were manky but it all seemed clean. The pool was large and there’s lots of outside space. The ability to leave your suitcase/ bags for the day and then use the shower facilities before heading to the airport was a really useful bonus.

I slept with earplugs and beads headphones still heard music coming out from street bars. It's sad cause last year this place was so much better but they definitely downgraded it.

Decidimos hacer check out 1 noche antes y buscar otra opción de alojamiento. La ubicación es muy buena, pero con esas instalaciones y servicio no volvería.
Steven (8/5): - Hello. Selina a good deal for the money. A quiet, handy refuge from the spicy hustle of the zona strip. Has interesting array of shared facilities. Nice large clean pool. This is budget travel. Do not expect sterling plumbing fixtures. But buildings thick walls, plenty of helpful staff. Was given one, then another queen standard rooms but had to reject because were no comparison to pix in Expedia. After small debate was upgraded to very spacious, top floor, lagoon view (#8202) room. Very enjoyable for a week's stay. Was a king suite, I think. Island just offshore full of frigate birds, large white cranes. Big crocs onshore, many large iguanas, nice birds on extensive, well-kept grounds. Peaceful, natural. A great place to have a real but comfortable zona experience. Playa Forum the downtown but still beautiful heart of the zona beaches, a bare-foot, ten minute walk away. Con Dios, Steve.
dahyeon (4/5): - The location was great, as it was very convenient for getting to downtown and Isla Mujeres. However, not only was it late at night, but I could also hear people talking loudly and loud music through the window until 6 AM, making it hard to sleep comfortably.

Then when that stopped at 10:00 pm, the music from downtown bars kept us up until 3:00 am. Having no elevator to go to 2rd floor room and had to carry 3 large suitcases up the stairs. No hand towels or wash clothes, even when I went to desk to request them.Will not stay there again.

Chloe (6/5): - My stay at Selina Cancun was OK. It is reasonably cheap for the area, but the facilities did seem rundown for the price. The lights and electrical switches made a dodgy buzzing sound when used, the entertainment room was not working, the wifi wasn't available, there wasn't enough basic kitchen items like forks and knives, and the room didn't quite look as nice as the pictures. That being said, it was a pretty good location and everywhere in Cancun is crazy prices, so I guess you're getting what you pay for, just go in eyes wide open and don't expect anything fancy.
Mikael (8/5): - The vibe is great, the staff is nice and we enjoyed the pool. It is walkable distance from the beach and the coco bongo. The room looks great, but the humidity smell was unpleasant. We had to unclog the shower head from limestone. I'm happy the pump of the shampoo bottle was not working. I had to untwist the lid and hopefully took a sniff at it first. The product had probably alien living inside. I almost throw up.If we were staying there for longer, I would have asked for assistance from the lovely staff. I’m sure they would have helped with some of the issues we experience. I’m a big fan of Salina’s hotel, this one is not on top of my list.

Verified traveler (6/5): Not what I was expecting - I’d had friends recommend staying at Selina, but my experience did not live up to the expectation. Yes, the location is good and it felt safe, and the private rooms were very very basic (as you would expect at a hostel, which is fine!) but there was a damp smell and feeling inside. We noticed mould on the shower curtain, and a constant smell of sewerage. We avoided using the shared kitchen amenities as it felt unclean. The one time we swam in the pool we didn’t put our head underwater as it was had floating bugs and debris. It was also not possible to contact the host beforehand despite multiple emails. The ‘look’ of the hotel was lovely with bright colours and murals. Probably fine for a night or two, but any more than that I’d look elsewhere!

Kitchen is not like the image, it has everything like fridge, stove, kitchenware. But it is dirty and old. It is worth less than money you pay. Claus (4/5): Wouldn’t recommend - Wouldn’t stay here again. A leak somewhere in the shower of the room flooded my room three days during my four-day stay (one badly as the whole room was covered with water, the other two days enough to be annoying as the entrance to the room was slippery and wet, so I had to keep my shoes and suitcase above the ground just in case. I advised them multiple times but all they did was clean up the water rather than fix the problem, so it kept happening. The rooms weren’t cleaned properly - mind you it was the shared accommodation part of the hostel, but the bathrooms definitely didn’t get cleaned every day, leaving toothpaste smears and hair in the sinks and shower. Lastly, the pool was closed for a whole morning/afternoon without notice… it was the only day I had free to enjoy the facilities, so I wasn’t able to do so at all, which was inconvenient. All in all, this was the worst accommodation I’ve had in years — and I travel enough to be able to compare!

I was a little annoyed at check-in because one staff member told me before I checked in that the towel and sheet (I was in a cohabit room) required a $15 deposit, 100 pesos, or my ID. I didn't have cash at the time, so I planned on using my ID when I completed check-in. However, the person that helped me when I completed check-in said that they no longer take IDs, so I had to pay $21 in fees (more than the deposit itself!) to pull out money from the atm in the lobby. I would've taken out money somewhere else earlier if I didn't think the ID was an option... The room itself was okay. There were a lot of mosquitoes inside the room which I promptly hunted and killed. The resort was nice - pool was great and I enjoyed the common kitchen and other amenities. Overall very average experience. Some goods, some bads.

Everything that we needed. We had a great time at Selina. It was right in the middle of everything. They also had on site bar with activities, food and music. Jenna (6/5): - The outside area is beautiful BUT our room was filled with misquotes. We only stayed one night and were covered in misquote bites. Piping was exposed in the bathroom and paper towels were wrapped around the pipes. Water did not get warm in the shower.

They promised to talk to their manager for refund or partial refund but it never happened. If you want to sleep, please avoid this unbearable hostel.

Dylan (10/5): - I really enjoyed the area of the property and where it was located! Everything I needed was provided! My only negative was that someone else staying must have got on the wrong floor and tried to get into my room at 2am! Very startling, but keeping the door lock and closed I voiced to please leave my room and you must have the wrong room! I know it’s nothing the hotel could control but now just a friendly reminder to fellow woman solo travellers to invest in the extra door lock device!! Definitely would stay again!

bertram (2/5): - This was such an unattractive and depressing room, the window would not close all the way so there were mosquitoes eating me every night that I could do nothing about, the window was small the view was bad, the hallway outside the room echoed loudly so other guests could be heard. The room was small and dark. I probably was given the worst room with the worst view (of nothing but a wall) the staff was friendly but worked very slow, the grounds were pleasant.
xingjun (2/5): - I am a frequent traveler, and this is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. It is like a cheap motel with a dirty room and unbelievably poor bathroom condition. Mosquitos were flying in every corner of the room. Despite multiple requests, we got no shower supplies, i.e., shampoo, body wash, soap.... I don't understand why Expedia lists this hotel, absolutely disgusting. Do not stay if you don't want to ruin your trip.

Christopher (2/5): - No hot water, broken window, room filled with mosquitos, Blood on the alls everywhere from previous guests killing mosquitos, room was filthy, very noisy from road, clubs, and other guests until 2am, door was broken and difficult to open, close or lock, huge pool nobody used because it wasn't maintained, booking issues on their end to top it off. Cannot possibly recommend.
jarred (8/5): - For the price and location you can’t go wrong. Only flaw is how dirty the bathroom is in the room. The for everyone bathrooms are definitely the way to go here

Ellie (6/5): - Micro room is smaller than anticipated with no shelves, hooks etc. Good aircon, comfy bed. Room and shared bathroom were full of mosquitos. Selina grounds are aesthetically pleasing, restaurants, supermarket and strip in walking distance. Food and drink on the pricier side for a hostel. Didn’t get a chance to try scheduled activities. Not many people around while staying but loud music until late

Paulina Juarez (10/5): - Definitely a pretty hotel just wished AC was turned on before we got to our room since it’s very hot and humid outside. Room service was excellent everyday however they did forget to leave us more toilet paper one night and we had to go ask at the front desk. But very cute, pretty , nice vibes.
Jhoanny (10/5): - The staff is super sweet and inviting. There’s a few little things that could be better like maybe having better curfew for the pool and for the kitchen area. it’s still great that they have them but especially for my partner and I it was hard to be able to use them since we would come back late or leave too early . It was super useful when I chose to stay in for a bit and I wanted to heat something up.I saw others making full meals since there was a stove and everything. I love that they have a daily theme like Latin night, karaoke night and others. The only thing I would probably say wasn’t the best was the shower. The bathroom itself was fine but the shower was not the best. I’m understanding being that I know it’s a different country and things like water pressure work a little differently but when you’ve been sweating all day and just want to take a nice shower it’s a little difficult being that the pressure is so low and the water is very sporadic. At least in our room. But other that everything was amazing. Our room was cleaned everyday which I loved because I could come back to nice and clean room and just sleep. Definitely would recommend this place for everyone. For sure will come back again. It’s also pretty affordable and seems much better than some resorts nearby.

Valentin (2/5): - It was an absolute nightmare staying here. I don’t understand how it’s in business. Rooms were tolerable but the service was absolutely horrible. The pool is always dirty and murky water. The chairs around the pool are all broken and dirty too. The front desk people were so rude and inconsiderate to help out with whatever issue was occurring. The ac was constantly turned off and they would take 4-6 hours to go turn it on again. DO NOT STAY HERE!
Jose (2/5): - I have a really bad Experience first they offered me the hotel taxi to the Airport they changer me 700 pesos to reserve my taxi for the next day at 12pm the taxi was late i mentioned them 2 times that i got charged already 1 day before when the taxi dropped me in the Airport i give him Tips and after that he say u have to pay me the Taxi i told him his Company already charged me call the hotel and the one who answered say he don't know anything. Im wondering how many people they f... whit that trap they have not me Uber is al lot cheaper safe. Pss No internet on the Rooms

Melanie (10/5): - I had my first solo trip at this hotel, and I’m so glad I decided for this one, the place isn’t nothing luxurious, but is exactly at the best location of the hotel zone. Is literally one street from all of the clubs, including coco bongo. I did felt really safe walking by own around and at night times. The hotel is beautiful but back again nothing from the other world(:
Sara (10/5): - The hotel locates in a very good place at the hotel zone that you feel safe to be out even at midnight! The price for that area is very low and the room and services are very reasonable for the price.
