The staff at the Marco Polo are excellent - nothing is too much trouble and you are always greeted with a smile. The hotel is its age. Small maintenance issues are evident.

• Nina (5/5): Un établissement dont je ne pourrai pas dire qu'il est 5* - Le personnel est du niveau 5* : très professionnel, très réactif en cas de souci. Les lits sont plutôt confortables. Un big up pour les femmes de ménage très sympathiques et dévouées. L'hôtel dispose d'une terrasse fumeur au 6ème étage avec une vue incroyable sur le Victoria Harbour ! La situation géographique est excellente, à une minute à pied du ferry et de toute commodité. Les chambres sont très vétustes : dans la salle de bain, les joints sont noircis ; la baignoire est très vieille et je n'ai pas pu prendre de bain dans ces conditions. Les meubles partent en lambeau et le coffre de sécurité ne fonctionnait pas, bien qu'on nous ait proposé son remplacement immédiatement. Dans le lobby et les étages accessibles au public, la climatisation est vraiment très très forte. Même avec un gilet, je n'ai pas pu profiter des restaurants sur place à cause du froid. Y passer pour rejoindre l'ascenseur était déjà un calvaire. La piscine n'est pas du tout valorisée. C'est juste un bac pour dire qu'il y a une piscine. Il n'y a pas de parasols pour protéger du soleil qui est assez fort. L'environnement autour de la piscine est vétuste également. Cela ne donne pas envie de s'y poser.

• Melanie (8/5): Great location, large family rooms. - Great location, easy walk to shopping, Nathan road, MTR 5 min walk, ferry 5 min walk. Many restaurants around the area. Rooms were large, with space for luggage to be kept out of sight. We had a family room which was ideal, not many hotels offer these in Hong Kong. We were in a delux room. The bathrooms are starting to get old. The shower is over the bath with a shower curtain being used. This should be upgraded. Not overly safe for elderly. The use of heavy deodorizer spray in the lobby and hallways was overpowering and set off my allergies. I did sense wafts of sewerage smell in the lobby and I think it is an attempt to cover this.

Attentive staff and great room service. Some facilities (e.g. pool) and decor pieces are due an update. Leaky faucet in our room. Overall the rooms are stuck in the 1990s.

The staff were friendly and the concierge services when we left was exceptional No explanation about the services and facilities. While we enjoyed the upgrade to a suite there was no view. Prices at the hotel bar were astronomical. Unacceptably high. The hotel is a little old fashioned and needs an upgrade specially the bathrooms. Expensive for what we got.

Staff are pleasant and accomodating as well Hotel facilities shows its age. The card keys are very finicky....sometimes it works, sometimes it does'nt. You need to be patient. There last renovation was 2011 and i think it needs to be updated soon...especially the rooms. My pillows were also very soft and felt uncomfortable as it became really flat after a few minutes

• Esther (8/5): The reception staff have to be more aware on who has been waiting at the proper check in line and who cuts the line. Th - Property in great location. The housekeeping staff and staff that attends to the luggage are wonderful. They are prompt and polite whenever I asked for anything from them. The only thing that makes my stay unpleasant is my first encounter at the check in on the first day. I was lining up to check in and there are 2 counters ‘ open’. One staff was assisting a costumer and on the other counter there are 2 staffs talking. I have been waiting for 3 -5 minted and was not signaled they can help me. I assume they are not ready to assist customers. Then a family just came straight up to them and I thought they are just asking some questions. However the 2 staffs proceeded to help them. After another 5 to 10 minutes I decided I should step forward away from the check in line to ensure no one else step in front of me because I was getting tired from waiting and watching other customers cut in front. Then another staff came and I was escorted to step back ton check in line. I told him why I stepped forward but he has no interest to listen and walked away after I stepped back into the check in line. This started my poor impression of Marco Porlo.

Room was spacious but a little dated but still excellent and clean, could not complain. Staff were all excellent from check-in, cafe and all interactions to Check-out..Location is great, directly connected to the Harbour City shopping centre which is massive, we only got through about 2 of the 5 floors, also has direct access to harbour and 3 blocks from Nathan Rd. Breakfast was excellent also, we had it included in stay and was in the Cafe.Marco, choices ranged from Asian to Western and a good selectione which varied slightly each day. Would stay again when in Hong Kong without doubt

• anuchartu (6/5): Stunning Views and Exceptional Service from Zafar, but Housekeeping and Facilities Fall Short - The hotel’s location is excellent, being so close to major shopping areas, and the bedroom offered a truly breathtaking view of the Hong Kong harbor and skyline. However, the property itself feels quite dated and is in dire need of renovation, especially the bathrooms. As a Titanium Elite member, I was disappointed that an early check-in wasn't available, though I did appreciate the 7 PM late check-out. The check-in process was rather slow, and the receptionists lacked a friendly smile and didn't seem very welcoming. On a much brighter note, the bellhop service was exceptional. I want to specifically recognize Zafar, who was absolutely wonderful. He was incredibly kind, proactive, and went out of his way to assist us throughout our stay with a great attitude. What disappointed me most, however, was the housekeeping, which was far below 5-star standards. On my first day, the body soap was already empty within hours of arrival, showing a lack of basic inspection. I was only given one bottle of water on the first day, and the bed-making was incredibly sloppy—the sheets weren't tucked in or smoothed out at all, just loosely laid over the bed. I even found hair left in the bathroom drain and strange debris on the 'new' cotton buds provided. Furthermore, the TV is outdated and should be replaced with a Smart TV. On the second night, I had to wait over 30 minutes for ice and a wine opener, eventually having to call to follow up. Honestly, a hotel of this caliber should already have a wine opener available in the room. This experience certainly did not live up to the expectations of a top-tier loyalty member

The location is unbeatable—right in the heart of the city, surrounded by major attractions and great shopping spots. It made exploring Hong Kong incredibly easy both day and night. The room was comfortable and well-maintained, and the service throughout the hotel was exceptional. I’d especially like to thank two staff members who really made a difference during our stay: Mr. Zafar helped us with restaurant reservations on our first day. Even though our preferred restaurant was fully booked, he quickly found us a fantastic alternative. Mr. Lucky went above and beyond by helping me recover my lost phone at the airport. He coordinated with the driver and guided me through the entire process until I got it back. I truly appreciate his kindness and dedication. One small suggestion: adding an egg station at breakfast would make the experience even better. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for great service and a prime location in Hong Kong. I would definitely stay here again!

• johnlG2235IB (10/5): Zafar is a standout at Marco Polo HK! - Our stay at the Marco Polo Hongkong Hotel was fantastic, and Zafar at the concierge desk was absolutely a highlight of the trip. He has a wonderful personality and was genuinely fun to talk to - he even surprised us by speaking a bit of Tagalog! He was incredibly attentive to all our needs from start to finish. Zafar seamlessly handled our luggage, made sure we had water bottles in the rooms, and always helped us get a taxi when we needed one. He even went out of his way to help us out when we had to reorganize and repack our bags. What really made the difference was his genuine hospitality; he remembered us and warmly greeted us every single time we crossed paths. Our experience was so much better because of his help. Highly recommend seeking him out if you stay here!
