- HUNG CHI (10/5): 首次入住虹橋迎賓館 - 這10年來上海出差無數次，常常經過虹橋迎賓館，這次終於有機會入住。果然和一般的五星酒店不太一樣，花園造景和建築看來，有度假村的感覺。2館的前廳富麗堂皇，不愧是以前接待外賓的會館。客房空間不大，但是清潔舒適。
- Verified traveler (10/5): - 鬧中取靜，離地鐵站5分鐘腳程，地鐵站上蓋星空廣場都有唔少食店;距離虹橋機場都好近，可以搭地鐵直接到terminal 1 or 2;直接喺酒店搭taxi去terminal 1都係¥27。 因為有帶小朋友同行，所以有要求bb床，入住時有提供小朋友拖鞋+牙刷牙膏+熊仔毛巾。 唯一唔好係中央冷氣教唔到，覺得太凍一熄冷氣就有蚊飛出嚟。

- Hiroaki (2/5): 二度と泊まらない - 4泊の滞在中、シャンプー、ボディーソープ、髭そり、置いてなかったのが1回。極めつけは、帰国日に 依頼していたモーニングコール忘れ、タクシーを呼ぶのも忘れ、チェックアウト時には、カードのデポジットの赤を切るのを忘れ、既に支払い済みの宿泊代金を再度カード決済した。 その時に、これは合ってるのか？ と確認したが合っていると言われた。その後タクシーで出ると、門の前からまたフロントに引き返し、カード決済を間違えたから、再度カードを出せと言われた。結局、デポジットの赤と、宿泊代金の赤を 切ってやっと、終わり、空港へと向かった。 これが、5星ホテルのサービス？ 中国では、いいホテルなので何回か今まで利用したが、今回の件で、結局どこに泊まろうが、大差無いことがわかった。
- 正吉 (6/5): - 案内では虹古路の北門からホテルに向かうと書かれていたと記憶し向かうがまあ遠い。10号線水城路下車で正面入り口からの案内がなぜないのか。北門からはまるで従業員通路のようで敷地内に点在する建物の裏面を見ながらフロントを探すが広い敷地が仇となり何の看板もない中、建物に入るとこじんまりしたフロント発見。あとで分ったが紹介映像にあるホテル正面図とは違う建物に入ったようだ。無事チェックインできたものの不快感が残る。

- Sam (8/5): Elegant setting; mediocre service - The Hongqiao State Guest Hotel consists of several low buildings in a quiet and peaceful setting, protected by trees and a gate from the busy main drag of Hongqiao. State guests are put up here (as the name implies) and the rooms and lobby are quite elegant. The buildings are not beautiful, though; the restaurants are very expensive (and has few vegetarian options for lunch and dinner; breakfast is good); the fitness facility is adequate but not attractive; and some of the service is rude and perfunctory.
- Vivian (10/5): For something different - Beautiful gardens. Very unique green area in built-up Shanghai. This used to be a state guest house for dignitaries. The rooms are slightly dated but very comfortable. Staff was eager to help.
- STEVEN (8/5): Business stay - The hotel is in lush grounds. There are lots of staff always on duty to help. You feel special staying at a place that was once for top Party officials. The area is quite good and away from the bustle of the downtown Shanghai. Transport links are good with one of the airports and a train station not far away.

- Steven (10/5): Lovely hotel - This is a Chinese hotel, not an international chain. We were upgraded to a room in Building 7 which was very quiet and secluded. The room was large. The public areas were beautiful. The gardens attractive. A lot of staff did not understand English but we managed in the end. Check in was very slow.

Great gym. Very polite and well trained staff in general. Good buffet at reasonable price. Very central, walking distance from Shanghai Mart(1km) & Lowei Jei (3KM) (Famous bar street) Over all a very good experience, Will surely come back again when ever in Shanghai.

- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice place in nice garden. - Very nice hotel. In order to use pool / gym you have to take their 'golf-car' as it is not within the building. Not so convenant for cold days! Only 2 small bottles with drinking water for free. For sale in the room they ask per water bottle 25 rmb per bottle!!! In a place where you can't drink the tap water this is not correct! Bathroom too small. Asked for opening hours of fabric market at the reception but got wrong answer. Don't always understand your english 100%. Concierge very nice. Try to help.

Service staff is well trained and speaks good English. Breakfast buffet is good but overpriced, . Location is excellent a few minutes away from a subway stop and close to lots of different shopping and dining choices.
- ES (10/5): Great hotel if you need this area! - Very nice hotel if you need to stay in this area...it's very close to the Chabad if that is important to you. The hotel amenities were nice. The bed was a bit hard and the shower was ok...but overall the hotel was great. They charge you for water and it's quite expensive, but other than that the staff is attentive and the hotel is well kept. I will definitely stay here again. Also note, i was told if you want them to bring a mattress pad they will do that for you.

Trees, grass, flowers, stream and waterfalls are everywhere. also located walking distance to Shanghai Mart, right across the street. the rooms are larger than other hotels I've stayed at also. it's really a nice location.

The room itself was nice, though not quite a "5 star" room. The bed was large but not the most comfortable. Overall a pretty bland room, but certainly clean.

- Ian (10/5): Very peaceful & large, nice rooms. - I given Hongqiao Guest House a high rating. Very nice rooms and a peaceful "campus" feeling, back off the road and the noise. the Concierge, Dickson Teng, was especially helpful in every way. The hotel is just two blocks from the Shuicheng Road Metro stop. The only caveat is the very expensive meals, especially breakfast. About $30 each for buffet. We walked just a few blocks to Shuicheng Road where there was McDonalds and Starbucks. A good alternative to the high breakfast prices.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Staying in a Palace and pay like a Motel-6 - Its take you 5 minute walking in a wonderful garden from street entrance to hotel door. They have a beautiful gardens around the hotel 15 min by taxi from downtown Shanghai. Bed`s mattress was very very hard! even when they put 2 extra blankets under. - but that is China.

- Steve (8/5): - The Hongqiao State Guest House is primarily used for visiting foreign government delegations. The property is spacious, beautifully landscaped and quite spread out. Staying there has a resort-like feel to it, at least for Shanghai. For example, there is a golf cart shuttle between the main building and the excellent on-property Clark Hatch Fitness Center (with indoor pool). The only downside is that the location is a little remote from downtown Shanghai, especially for newcomers to the city. With a little effort, however, it's not too hard to find places to eat and go for entertainment in Hongqiao. The property location is quite convenient to Hongqiao Airport (15 minutes away). I will definitely stay there again!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Beautiful Property - This hotel is a great place to stay in Shanghai. Convenient to the Metro. The hotel grounds are quite impressive, lots of places to walk around, jog, whatever. Perfectly manicured grounds. If you're walking, it's a bit of a walk from the hotel entrance to the main road but the walk is beautiful. The rooms are nice, standard, nothing crazy impressive. The hotel staff is a little cold. Not the same sort of warm service you'd expect in a Western hotel. Other than that, beautiful place, would stay here again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): for the price, incredible! - We've stayed here twice. Staff is always friendly and kind. They helped us booking train tickets. Room was pretty clean. Their pool is also nice, don't forget your swim suit!
- BANH Dinh Dung (8/5): - Dear Sir/ Madam, The only problem is the desk office staff could not speak or write basis English properly. They did not know how to explain to the clients when they had a problem with the credit or debit card used as deposit. Their difficulty in explaining in basis English made people doubt about other things , and it is a pity to give this impression. Thank you

- Parag (10/5): nice quiet hotel, large rooms - its a very pleasant hotel not far from the city center luxurious lawns and a very good health club a quiet place - i prefer it to the glass and steel buildings
