- Eddie (8/5): -
- Pavel (8/5): Splnilo to naše očekávání, pan Elan byl velmi přátelský a ochotný. -

- Rossella (10/5): As a solo traveller the most important thing for me was safety and they made sure that - It was very near to the train station and all of the supermarkets, I didn't expect the area to be that beautiful and peaceful :)
My room was bigger than I thought and I felt safe , travelling alone was tough but the stay there made me feel like at home, the breakfast was more than I could ask for and the bathroom was very clean , they cleaned my room every day :) everything was more than I could ask for . Everything was Ok
- Monica (8/5): Friendly accomodations at St James - We stayed at St James for 5 nights. This accomodations is a family house in a quiet neighborhood. Reasonably priced with breakfast included (cereals, toasted bread and fruit). Rooms are at the first floor, bathroom/shower are shared. We had a sink in the room and an ensuite toilet which we really appreciated!
Good wifi connection.
The owner is a friendly and helpful person. Don't hesitate to ask for tips!
A good base if we return to London.

- Ann (8/5): - Nice place in a quiet neighbourhood. Friendly and kind hosts.
- Claire (9/5): Home away from home - Wonderful host, lots of features to make it comfortable- fan, kitchenette facilities, garden views, quiet street, great local advice. All was good.
- Isabel (7/5): Great stay overall - I felt very safe staying here as solo traveller. The staff were lovely and welcoming, which made the stay really pleasant. Breakfast was simple but fine, and the kitchen was available to make teas and coffees, and heat up meals. The house itself is a bit dated but it has everything you need: clean room, comfortable bed and quiet environment.

- Anonymous (10/5): Enjoy your stay - Great host, quiet neighborhood, access to restaurants, clean place lime a second home. Location is about 15 minutes from 2 different train station. As a tourist at the end of the day it was a bit tiring to add another 15 minutes of walking.
- Veerangna (6/5): Good host but not comfortable having to ring the door bell to enter/exit everytime you leave the house. No access to - Host was friendly and made us feel at home Entering and existing the property isn’t convenient. Everytime, you have to ring the bell to get the keys to your room. So no main door keys/room keys with you.
- Anna (10/5): Exceptional - I enjoyed my stay here. The house is settled in a quiet place, yet not so far from central. You can easily travel here by buses or train, which are really close. The stay in the house was very pleasant. The owners were very kind. The room was clean and cozy. I won't hesitate about coming back again.
- Ahmed (10/5): Exceptional - The staff are nicer than most of the people Ive met in life.
- Restyanti (10/5): Very comfortable and nice, very recommended for anyone visiting London for the first time. - The house is clean and comfortable, not to mention the garden is very beautiful with the roses. The room is clean as well, with heating. I got the one with the toilet inside so it was very nice and convenient for me. The house is in a quite neighbourhood but still very close to the main street. easy access to brockley station and bus stop near Lewisham college. The owner, Elan and Claire, are also very helpful and nice. As a first-timer in London, Elan gave some tips to get around London. Nothing to complaint
- Sam (8/5): was nice, clean, good nights sleep. quick internet, friendly owner. - was nice, clean, good nights sleep. had to do some computer work in the evening and internet was nice and quick. friendly owner.
- Robert (9/5): Great stay - The helpfulness of the owner. The fact that he gave me a room with a private toilet and a wash basin. Nothing to report. Everything was fine.
- Tracy (10/5): This is a great value for a base when you want to get out and explore. - Very convenient, quiet, friendly host! Nothing
- Alastair (5/5): Passable - It was 15 minutes walk through a nice area from our son and grandson who we were visiting. Our host was welcoming It felt down-at-heel, very cluttered. Breakfast was very basic, and coffee was instant. There was no tea-making facility in our room; carrying hot cups upstairs wasn't great. I was a bit worried about some of the health & safety features
- Ní (10/5): Exceptional - Quite, safe area, clean room, close to trains. Had to ring door bell c5.15am as taxi that had been booked for 5.00am didn't arrive. Host got up and managed all. Taxi driver was plesant. However, I would not book taxi via Data Cars as not reliable when one is trying to catch early morning train from city centre. Host /owner of accommodation could not have been more helpful and I am very grateful for the assistance I received. Everything was good.
- Siri (8/5): Highly recommended. - Very friendly personell. Very clean room. Very quiet and Nice neighbourhood. Old house, and not sound proof between next door rooms, but didn’t cause nuisance.
- Ester (8/5): Simple, clean and fair - Simple hotel with all I needed for my stay.
- Sae (10/5): Very good - The kitchen had an impressive variety of tea! The owners were friendly. The room was clean. Every time I entered the house, I needed to ring a bell and one of the owners had to open the door.
- Jesús (9/5): Highly recommended. - The hosts' kindness and hospitality.
- Glenn (10/5): Exceptional - The Guestfamily is very nice and also assisted me with any questions. The room was clean and also else nothing to complain about. -
- Gwyn (8/5): Brilliant - The owner could not do enough for use , the guest house was 145 years old lots of traditional ness and we got what payed for including a continental breakfast ———————-
- Gazzo (10/5): Exceptional - The room was clean, and so was the shower. Coffee, tea, and even juice are available free of charge, in addition to a complimentary breakfast.
The owners are friendly and helpful; they give advice on where to go, and they even drive me to the station so I do not miss my tram!
I will definitely book again on my next visit to London.
- Russell (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ruth (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lw (10/5): Great way to end our visit to London. - Host and hostess truly accomodating and helpful. Enjoyed conversations with host especially...from climate to politics to...you name it. Excellent suggestions for restaurants. Stairs a little steep.
- Buth (9/5): Superb -
- Borja (10/5): Authentic English experience with charm - I stayed for a couple of days at the end of April and my experience couldn't have been better. The house is beautiful inside and out, the location is wonderful, southeast of London. The neighborhood is truly beautiful and there is a subway station, buses and trains within walking distance. The owner is an endearing person who always tries to help you, it's lucky to find such people. Without a doubt when I return to London I will stay here again. Nothing really, I liked everything. Obviously, it's a Victorian house with many years and doesn't have the amenities of a hotel or a modern house, but staying in a house like this has its charm and I believe it helps to have a more authentic English experience.
- Stuart (8/5): An enjoyable weekend aided by a stay at a guest house that met my needs for that weekend. - The location was fine.
Breakfast was satisfactory.
The proprietor was very welcoming and was eager to help with any queries. Other members of the proprietors family were also friendly and I could happily recommend the guest house for anyone happy to have accommodation away from Central London at a more affordable price. Personally I felt that the room was big enough to have a 3/4 bed, rather than a single bed. The bed creaked, as did the floorboards, but once you got used to that, it was no problem.
- Frederik (10/5): Very good. More than I expected. - The accomodation is in a quiet place. Maybe quite more far as I expected from city centre, but there was bus stop, underground or train stop near by. Check-in was able in any time, I came something about 9pm. There was a hall, the room for breakfast, kitchen where I could make a tea, coffee or sweet water. The room was exceeded my expactations (better as I thought). Maybe the bed was too soft for me and was making sounds. But staff was very nice and talkative. They help me with imformations. A little bit the soft bed and sounds of bed, when I moved.
- Lynda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Juhan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrej (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gavin (10/5): Exceptional - Friendly owner. Really appreciated the hospitality after being badly let down by my original booking. Highly recommended. Thank you.
- Louise (9/5): Superb - Lovely owner, happy guests who come back for years, very clean, felt safe as a lone traveller, good breakfast he made me porridge on the sunday as was running the London Marathon it really enhanced my stay nice area too Nothing
- Katherine (9/5): Will be back - Cheap and cheerful, very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely house, quiet location. Amazing selection of teas coffees etc in the kitchen. Just a little bit scruffy around the edges, could do with sprucing up, carpet, decoration etc.
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional - Support me to get along with LEZ/ULEZ(LONDON TOLL SYSTEM)
- Jenner (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alex (10/5): very relaxing and comfortable - Host is a caring person. Went out of his way to provide me with transport everything was excellent
- Claudine (9/5): Wonderful - Room was big and clean . Bed was very comfortable.
- Short (9/5): I really enjoyed my stay here! The room was comfortable, the breakfast was filling, and the host was very hospitable. - The host was very welcoming, hospitable, and friendly. The bed was comfortable, and the breakfast was good. The toilet on the second floor was a bit difficult to flush, but it wasn't a big issue.
- Frances (8/5): Very friendly and helpful staff - Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. I liked that there was a shared tea area I could help myself to at any time, and a really excellent selection of teas - plus fresh milk instead of UHT.
- Jonathan (8/5): Very good -
- Amy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Laurent (9/5): A good stay not far from central London - Great value for money.
- Heinz-jürgen (8/5): Very good -
- Vaseeharan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paul (10/5): I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again, which I'm planning to do in 6 months time. - I had a very pleasant stay here, with the friendly owners offering local knowledge on travel and tourist trips.
Not the usual couple of catering coffee sachets and UHT milk on offer, (which usually results in me having to buy my own supplies) premium coffee and real milk not the mention the couple of dozen! normal and herbal teas were available in the guest kitchen which was well equipped with microwave, fridge etc . Another reviewer mentioned a faulty shower I would put this down to knowing how to use the controls as I had no problems whatsoever (with the two kinds of complimentary body wash and luxury soap supplied). My room was clean cosy and modern and with a 32-inch TV!
- Chris (8/5): Very good -
- Modaff (6/5): Kind owners, but wish I had a bit bigger degree of separation between the owners and guests -
- Iryna (8/5): Very good - Very friendly host. Breakfasts - simple but very convenient.
- Ubabukoh (8/5): Excellent - Very friendly and open owners. The bed was excellent. The room was a little small, but nothing bad for 1 person. It has a perfect location close to the railway and the city centre. Overall a great experience! The breakfast wasn’t very special.
- Nikolay (10/5): Exceptional - The location is good, easily accessible using overground and national railway services.
- Lou (8/5): Very good -
- Lucy (10/5): Would definitely come back again - Owners were very friendly and welcoming, room was lovely and clean as well as the kitchen facilities.
- Giancarlo (9/5): Superb -
- Xijian (10/5): Exceptional - Very good Need more thins for breckferst
- Mark (8/5): Very good -
- Rajkumar (10/5): Great Stay . Will look forward to staying again next time I visit London. - Elan at the property was really friendly and was very helpful with giving all the information that I had asked , the property is located in quiet neighborhood and not too far from the train station making it very convenient to see London as a visitor.
- Dalia (9/5): A great place to stay at while in London - I highly recommend staying at St. James G.H. The place is very clean, very well connected with public transport to different areas in London. The hosts are very welcoming and friendly, my room was nice and quiet facing the back garden with a huge tree.
- Garnet (7/5): Good -
- Amy (9/5): This was a lovely stay in a comfortable room with everything we needed. Thanks! - It is situated in a beautiful quiet suburb, within walking distance to overground train lines, and there is free street parking. The hosts are very accommodating and friendly. It would be nice to have a bit more variety of breakfast choices.
- Jonas (8/5): Very good -
- Samarth (10/5): Exceptional - Thank you for such good care.
- Anshul (8/5): Very good -
- Adriana (9/5): Superb -
- Shane (8/5): Good experience, I would come again - The hosts were extremely nice and the room was clean with a good view on the beautiful backyard. The house is located in a quiet neighbourhood, which is very welcome after a long day in the busy city centre.
- Anne (9/5): Friendly, family run place at a good price and well located for south London needs. - The guest house is located in a quiet, pretty Victorian street. Our host was very attentive and friendly. There was a fridge and microwave we could use which we really appreciated. We liked the 24 hour access to a wonderful range of teas, jars of coffee and hot chocolate. Great to have a basin and toilet of our own and we were fine with the hot and clean shared shower.
We were allowed to help ourselves to some of the breakfast when our morning plans meant we left earlier than the official breakfast time.
Fairly close to Greenwich This one is on us, not the place, but my husband takes longer to walk than usual, and it was quite a long walk to the railway station for him.
It took us at least 40 mins to get to most London attractions, but this is just the flip side of a very reasonable rate.
I would have appreciated some yoghurt with breakfast, but as a Gluten Free coeliac, I was well taken care of, even down to a separate GF toaster being used.
- Graham (10/5): Exceptional -
- Max (7/5): A perfect destination for the price: with fantastic hospitality! - Very friendly and welcoming. Always there to help! Perfect location to all parts of London. Rooms were perfect size and everything you needed. It was exceptional for the price! The bed could’ve been more comfortable but was good for the price
- Akin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nicola (8/5): Very good - Very friendly and helpful hosts.
- Paul (7/5): Adequate and nice place for a short stay in London. - St James guesthouse is a simple but efficient facility in a quiet Lewisham street with nice Victorian dwellings. St. James has a superbly inviting rose garden. The rooms are adequate and clean. A common shower is provided in the corridor. Breakfast is continental (toast, croissant, tea & coffee, fruit). The owners live in the same building and are very alert to be of service to the guests. To visit London city center and reach it by public transport is not always easy. Lewisham is rather far away and railway stations are not exactly around the corner
- Paul (9/5): Superb -
- Miriam (8/5): Very good -
- Tracey (4/5): Disappointing - Got knocked up early in the morning and accused for smoking, definitely won't be staying there again
- Hazhir (4/5): Disappointing - Location was convenient (near busses and trains) It had a hostel vibe, rather than a guest house. Although it confirms only fans for cooling, being on the second floor, the rooms can get hot without air-conditioning.
- Ersegun (7/5): Good -
- Agnieszka (10/5): Exceptional - Friendly owners. Very clean. You can prepare coffee or tea during the day.
- David (8/5): Nice 2 night stay. - Location and hosts were excellent Whilst it does say breakfast included, it is worth noting that this is only cereal, toast and drinks. Lack of blackout curtains meant that at 4:30 sun was beaming through the thin curtains.
